Yeah…. but let’s be real. most of the time, used consoles will work. I’ve bought dozens of used consoles over the years and if memory serves, only one hasn’t worked.
Yep, he buys a pile of trash for double FMV and manages to say nice things about it.... Bottom line is they are still a scam and do some research before paying inflated prices on consoles.
When I saw QC sticker with the "Functionality Confirmed" box with a cross I though "There's no way DK oldies would ship a broken console, so is just another person checking that with a cross" Welp, they never changed...
Since you bought such a specific version of the PS4, DK might be able to track it (along with using the QA sticker), so it might be better to not use the same buyer the next time. They might flag that specific buyer and send an especially good console.
The x on DK Oldies checklist by the “tested working” meant either it wasn’t tested or that it wasn’t working. Honestly the EBay one was miles better than DK Oldies and less than half the price.
Well, if you like to talk trash about dkoldies complaining about things like ebay is better than dkoldies then why don't people complain about lukie games, ever heard of them? I bought a ps1 console from them and it did not work. I contacted them at least 3 times and eventually they wanted me to send it back first then they would send a replacement. i just had a bad experience with ebay from buying a dreamcast console that I was told by the seller it was tested. yeah, it was tested alright because when i turned it on the controller would not respond and the seller does not accept returns or give refunds. it's sitting in my closet collecting dust because i can't get it fixed.
A lot of people clean their consoles with a piece of cloth that can easily scratch the finish. Happened to my OG PS3. Every time it was wiped down, micro scratches appear and increased over time every time it’s wiped down. Stuff like this is very easy to do.

Your much more gracious for used systems steve. If its advertised in excellent condition, i expect it to be clean on the inside. You shouldnt have to clean it yourself.
For the price at DK-Oldies this console is not worth more than 130 bucks. If you were not someone with lots of replacement parts, you'd be sending it back and wait again, in the meantime no game console.
So what i took away from this video is, I'll only buy my used stuff from you! Thank you good sir 💯 Side note: i have an old white XBox360 that could be fixed and needs cleaned. I'll give it to ya for free if you want it 💯
Usually this happens with thermal paste after a while with dye chips because of the pump out effect i really wouldn't do thermal paste on dye chips but IHS (PC socket chips or any other console chip like the Xbox 360 Slim- E) For laptops/consoles or anything with a dye chip I'd use PTM since that's what will stay on the chip and you never have to replace it
I’ve heard in the past that their trade in values were fairly decent for people looking to sell retro games- and I sent them an email asking if they had interest in 6 boxed funtastic N64 consoles- all complete original paperwork styrofoam etc. in perfect condition, all the original colors from Fire Watermelon Jungle Ice Smoke and Grape, and they hit me with a $450 offer for everything. 💀
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Whenever I apply thermal paste to the APU and then inspect it again a few days later, there's practically no paste left on the chip. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, whether I'm tightening the screws too much or have done something else wrong. I actually always use the Arctic MX-4 thermal paste, but the paste still liquefies so quickly that I can't do anything and the console becomes far too loud. Can you give me a tip on what I could do to fix this?
On the check sheet there was an X on the functionality tick box so does that mean it wasn't tested? Or they marked it as such after testing knowing it didn't work fully?
Just out of curiosity did you let the controller charge up and then retry later? I ran into that with my dual shock on my ps4 and it was iust because the battery was completely dead and discharged. Same thing orange light to charge but wouldn't turn the system on. After charging for afew hours however I retested it and it turned in right away. Just a heads up.
Naw, I've repaired hundreds of ps4 controllers and that's simply not how it goes on the ps4. If you have it connected it should be able to have it instantly connect even with a completely dead battery.

Yeah, that is quite sad to imagine
You're far too kind, SHAMEFUL of DK Oldies to be sending out a BROKEN console like that ,embarrassing in fact
Selling broken consoles as "good" condition is false advertising and very bad for the customer. There is no excuse for that.

How the hell is DK oldies still in business?! Mind blowing
When they charge twice as much, they can afford to send replacements 😂
DK Oldies reminds of the automotive repair business, nuff said.
