Yeah, their prices are absolutely insane. They're selling PS2 slim models for $185. I have multiple slims I spent no more than 40-50 on per console on (locally, online, marketplace), which came with games, memory cards and multiple official controllers. I have no idea how DKOldies even lists their consoles for that much but people still buy them
See this is the thing. They buy their consoles and games in lots and yard sales and save BIG on it. They have absolutely no issues with profit margins. This is just laziness and greed from the owner.
@@plasterchief9582 They’re still overpriced. Plus, it’s known that they, as a company, would use bots on eBay and buy up every console, game, etc for cheap, and resell them on their site for a huge markup. It’s caused the market prices for retro items to drastically increase. So yes it’s a scam and they are scumbags.
@@thickgirlsneedlove2190 It is a scam. If they actually refurbished everything they had and sold it would be overpriced and bad value but not a scam. But the fact that they claim that everything is refurbished when they do not refurbish anything at all, and put in stickers to scare away people that do not know any better from opening it (so they dont find out that it is in fact not refurbished) IS a scam. They dont give you what they sell you. Simple as that
@PlasterChief something other posters haven't mentioned is dk oldies resurfaces all disks regardless of amount of scratches or if there working which decreases the lifespan
You also should go get them at flea markets as well, as I have seen them sell for good prices. I also highly recommend that you get PS1 and PS2 stuff from them as well. I managed to snag a copy of Fire Pro Wrestling R/Returns for $ USD 8 once from a flea market.
Like three years in a row GameStop was doing $50 360s in a row with a 49.99 instant rebate on black Fridays, this was around the time of the slim PS4/spiderman deal iirc
@@funderburke43 yup I remember that deal. I bought a super slim 360 for my nephew and it even came with the official camo controller. They were basically giving them away. Probably to clean out their overstock. Everybody had a 360 back in the day. they are easy to find
I remember when I was 18 I got a PS3 super slim refurbished for $55. It came with 6 controllers, 12 games, all of the cables, and each piece was individually cleaned.
I remember when I was 15 in 2006, brought a pre owned refurbished ps2 fat from ebgames. Got home disc drive had disc read error, returned it got another one, same thing. This happened 4 times till I finally got one that worked
Just get a pc and an emulator. I got a decent gaming rig (budget but still for 300$ it was exactly what I was looking for i53570k, 1050ti and 16gb ram that i overclocked) and I can emulate any game from ps1-3, xbox, ds/gba… no point of buying their overpriced shit
This is an absolute kill shot. All the negative press over the past few months and they get a relatively suspicious looking order asking for one of each of their consoles. Almost like someone might be gearing up for a massive review and they still send out worse than some of the original examples to start all of this. Gonna be hard to recover from these bigger channels calling them out.
Especially with how one of their ex-employees called them out on an interview with Rich from review tech recently in that they play favorites with repeat / high order customers. So if what they gave Austin was the premium treatment then just imagine regular customers lol.
@@katsudon2048 I know he's not in the UK, but TheRetroFuture just did a video on them as well. It's entirely possible for someone in Europe to get an order from them, I wouldn't be surprised to see MrWhoseTheBoss make a video on them in the future.
maybe they can see the error of their ways and actually start checking out these consoles as they come in. These things are coming on the market, and someone needs to take gamestop's place. i would give them another chance if they publicly accepted responsibility for this.
@@RowanBird779 I bought most of my super slim ps3s from gamestop around that time and it was less then used and new. Powergamer same thing. Regular used 64 in my area was 40. Refurbished was only 30. So you're lying

Out of all the small channels covering this in depth Austin shoutouts to Charlie, the guy who clicked through a youtube video for 10 minutes and called it a day. 😐
The most mind blowing fact about this is how not one person found it suspicious that someone ordered that many consoles and that MAYBE someone was going to review how well they 'refurbish' their consoles. I came across DKOldies a few months back and was going to order a couple retro consoles and with all the heat they're getting, I'm glad I did not.
What was going through your mind when you considered buying from them ?? Did you not realize the huge price difference from literally everywhere else on online ?? 🤦🏼♂️😂
@@markus7166 I didn't buy from them, I was considering it. I had assumed, like many others, that when they offer them refurbished that they're in a 'like new' condition. Ordering retro consoles is iffy because you never know what you're going to get when you buy from a private seller.
@@whydrah where did I say you bought from them ?? Even considering is idiotic when you can get on Facebook marketplace and find them for a fraction of the price in better condition. @@markus7166Because some people have more money than time and would rather just order something rather than go around hunting for one. That’s just a thought.
If you don't disassemble, clean, repaste and reassemble properly it's not a refurbishment. Ideally refurbish includes replacement of failing capacitors, batteries or other electronics.
11:44 Funny enough those void stickers are actually illegal in the United States under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, so even if they did enforce that, you can probably fight them over it, assuming you didn't break it when opening. Edit: I am aware that the sticker itself is not illegal, but many companies do void the warranty if the sticker is tampered with, which is illegal according to the FTC. And also, please do not take this as law advice BTW, as I'm not a lawyer.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, DKOldies need to be held accountable for what they're doing to people. Not just the ridiculous pricing but the way they don't even touch the inside of their "Refurbished" consoles. Good to see Austin showing his viewers this!
Ask yourself, if the second hand store or donations fixed and cleaned every product you buy, you think they’ll sell for cheap? When I did appliance deliveries I never understood how some people would buy “refurbished” and then start complaining when we’d deliver about scuffs and dents etc like.... didn’t you know this when you bought it? Or you just wanted the refurbished priced with a like new appliance? He’s not going to be splitting machines open to clean them when you won’t do it yourself (or you may, but majority won’t risk it) and then expect to pay the same price. Yes they’re high, but that’s anywhere you go. If you have a decent pc then emulate what you can but if you don’t you’re only option is one of these consoles like it or not, the supply isn’t growing after 12-20 years for some consoles. Then again, everyone buys half assed stuff, so why wouldn’t the next guy decide to do the same? Sadly the people being honest and nice don’t make money, and those stingy and deceitful make bank. So if you want better prices do the work to find them, check second hand stores or ask older folks who no longer have their children around if they have any old consoles, you might just get lucky - otherwise unfortunately or fortunately it’s one these guys we have to deal with!
@@hakasonma8588 what about ebay or all the others means of acquiring 2nd hand items online? craiglist, facebook etc etc. i mostly bought my retrogaming stuff from ebay in the last 15 years and i never ever spent anything remotely close to the price ranges of DKOldies, and eBay is known to be littered with stupidly expensive listings and rigged auctions to push your bids higher and yet i never got in any proximity of those price tags!
Well, goddamn. Even a big Techtuber like Austin is calling out DKOldies now. They really HAVE to straighten their business practice if they still want to stay... well, in business. No sweeping anything under the rag anymore, I'm afraid.
DK Oldies have been around forever like Lukie Games and come up on Google searches for anything. Their target audience is casual nostalgia players that will never bother opening these up or comparing prices. It’s still crazy that with all the negative videos about them, a huge order like this didn’t set off some red flag.
@@lurch1539see I don’t think this order got any special treatment. Which means they didn’t realize it was going to a reviewer. Which means either someone isn’t paying attention or they don’t care, either situation sucks for the customer.
Issue is that you need to actually service consoles for people like this because they don't know much about it, they won't be servicing them themselves, and in the case with more modern consoles (like early PS3s and xbox 360s) that will lead to the disaster. On top of that, it's really immoral in my opinion to take money from people who don't know any better.
And that's why they can say whatever they want on their site knowing the average Joe won't be opening it. Whether that's legal to lie about refurbishing wel......just my thoughts
@@hikkamorii most nostalgics are collectors and do the maintance service them selfs they even prefer it like that bcz they are basically odl tech junkies
Saddest part of this video is it came a little after a ton of the backlash they were receiving and clearly they changed nothing. They could have such a thriving business if they just did what they said they would do. I was very close to buying from them till I heard about all of this a month or two ago.
It's been months since they said they would fix it. They had a huge order of a ton of consoles. They knew the order was important and prob a youtuber. They clearly don't care.
The worst part? The fact that they seem to be deliberately putting their own warranty stickers on to discourage people from doing exactly this, because if you do and it is like this? Guess what, they can basically tell you to beat it and run off with your money because you voided their warranty.
this is why i stuck to ebay after gamestop stopped shipping retro stuff. the prices still stunk back when I didn't know any better. and after that i know too much, i knew not to ever buy anything for dkoldies for as long as their prices were that high. but since i know now that they don't bother cleaning their consoles unless its something like the gameboy (which is still far too overpriced), i would never buy anything from these guys. i know some peeps frown upon using ebay, but at least there you know the condition you're buying it, weither it works, and image of the console itself.
Jacob R did an interview with an ex employee and he said they don't open them up unless you can hear something rattling around inside or it doesn't work so they have to look inside to try and see if it's something fixable. They basically do the shake test lol if it functions and they can shake it without hearing anything funny, it gets shipped with nothing more than an exterior cleaning.
That's not a good idea business wise. They are deceiving their customers in buying consoles that are supposed to be "refurbished." Having big channels like Austin Evans call them out will definitely put the nail in the coffin on their business.
Then how did they ship that 360 without replacing the disk drive. You heard the sound it made when he put a game in it? Like what kills me about this is they aren't doing the bare minimum. Like local shops will refurbish stuff, open it up and clean it really well. Idk why these guys can't.
What I find interesting is that several of the consoles in these unboxing videos had the residue of a previous DKOldies seal peaking out from the current seal including this Dreamcast . This leads me to believe that they were previously sold by DKO and were returned , most likely with a problem , and then checked/fixed and were resold . They must have a pretty high return rate which is understandable given the lack of actual refurbing going on there .
You mentioned it in the beginning but the fact that there was a huge batch order on systems, which should've alerted them it was probably a content creator, and they still couldn't be bothered with refurbishing them is quite concerning.
Cause the employees don’t care, they want this company to go down as much as everybody else, this has been going on for about 2+ months with no changes soon they’ll go out of business
You have to pay attention to the DKoldies stickers. Its straight dishonest how they sell you the thing as having a warranty then the stick those where the screws or the seams are so you can't open it without voiding the warranty. They fully expect you to not attempt to open them at all so they don't bother with the inside. They insidiously hold the implied value of the warranty which is their entire selling point at those exorbitant prices over you, so you reasonably as a consumer will simply take them as is and not check the inside.
@Alexis Rivera not many people know that those warranty stickers don't mean shit in the USA, you can open and explore all you want, as long as your attempt doesn't directly cause a malfunction
@@alexisrivera200xable Which is hilarious because you can't legally void warranty in the US because of warranty stickers being torn anyways lol Maybe if the customer legitimately damaged the consoles

I bought a "refurbished" gameboy from DKOldies. The funny thing is that this was the clear version so you could see into the console without opening it and it was clear that they left dirt inside and the only thing the actually did was replace the plastic screen protector
Man, I'd be freaking furious if I had received that PS3. That thing ain't worth more than $50 in that condition. It's honestly a miracle it still works as well as it does. I see why they have those warranty stickers on them, since opening them up voids their warranty and they don't have to do crap even in these types of events.
@@wiltisdabest Most people don't do anything... because good fucking luck getting the company to budge on it. There is a huge difference between "pre-owned" and "refurbished". A truly refurbed item has been taken apart, cleaned, repaired, and tested, then certified that it works THE SAME AS NEW. The items generally have a decent warranty as well.
Technically, there is no "LEGAL" standpoint definition for the word "Refurbished". Refurbished is a synonym for reconditioned in which is under the entitlement (or definition) of pre-owned. As Americans, since we use fancy words to make things sound better and appealing, there are expectation behind those words. In the end, DK Oldies are running a legal business and advertising correctly. Is it still overpriced and taking advantage of old school gamers, YES. Are they breaking any laws or scamming anyone, NO. You are getting what you paid for a working old console.
Yeah but the reason you're paying premium here is for the console being refurbished and cleaned, the PS3 you got could have dust bunnies and who knows what inside. Average joe doesn't know nor do they want to bother with cleaning up the console. Edit because some people think I'm defending DKOldies somehow which I'm not, I was just trying to say the REASON DKO charges premium prices is because they claim they do refurbishment and cleaning which clearly they don't. But if they did all that then the premium prices would be ok.

Hey Austin, make sure to play that Dreamcast for longer than just a few minutes. It's a common issue with older Dreamcasts where the solder on the power port will become brittle enough that once it heats the system will reboot, cooling the solder just enough for it to boot back up almost immediately. It looks like a software reboot, but it's a full power circle due to bad solder.
Now you have me worried, I have played my Dreamcast for hours on end (finished sa1 in one sitting due to lack of vmu). It terribly heats up but I never had this problem before. I bought it used.
Update: days later my disk drive stopped working properly. I've owned this for almost 6 years and it spent the last six months in a box and has somehow become yellow.
Dkoldies seems like the one game store guy at your local flee market who buys all the good stuff from other vendors and then tries to sell it for online prices as long as it works
Reminds me of the people who go to yardsales and take advantage of homeowners' lack of knowledge of what their goods are actually worth and resale them online 3x the amount.
Ooooh, so this is why I stopped seeing their shorts spammed everywhere, lol Also, yes, those prices are not just overpriced, they are straight out of this world....
Should’ve ordered each one individually to different addresses because having a batch order alerts them to be more cautious since they’ll suspect it’s a content creator’s order
Exactly what I thought. Maybe not a content creator, but they definitely would be more "careful" if one guy buys like 10 consoles for himself from them.
I can almost guarantee that 360 was returned early in its life cycle to Microsoft to be fixed, i had my first gen 360 for only a few weeks before it started having disc read errors and had to be shipped back to them. I was lucky and never got the red rings but they tried charging me another $100 for the repair claiming it was out of warranty, it did however come back with the updated cooling design...

DK Oldies can’t cover up their scamming ways now. Jacob R, ReviewtechUSA, Penguinz0, and now Austin Evans. If these guys can’t get DKOldies to stop lying and to start being honest, then I don’t know who can.
I was highly considering ordering from them six months ago and then I kept seeing videos of them but now this officially does it for me I’m not doing business with them. Thank you, Austin.
It's a scam in the sense they used to sell stuff at decent prices like Goodwill back in the day, but then raised their price to be the same as Ebay or anywhere else. Pointless to buy from, takes longer and I think there was shipping last time I ordered.
Honestly disgraceful, especially when they (DKOldies and probably GameStop) demonstrate their ability to actually restore consoles properly, but no, gotta make them profit margins with as little effort as possible
I like how it started off fine and went disgustingly downhill from there. Thanks for doing this video Austin. DKOldies has now officially been reviewed on all of my sub channels and it's been consistently bad.
Lol the whole DKOldies situation in general started off fine and went disgustingly downhill. At first it was "wow these guys overprice their consoles by a lot, but they're not a scam," and now it's "wow, these guys are charging premium prices and are blatantly lying about refurbishing anything."
Also notice the fact that even for THAT price they never give you a genuine controller with any console. I think (this is just a speculation) but I think they do this so they can also sell the original controller for extra money. So not only do they make a lot of profit on the console. They also resell the genuine controller for extra money
The outside of the consoles as well aren’t always taken good care of either by DKOldies. As others have pointed out, using magic erasers as you see in the refurbish vid will actually cause abrasions on the surface of your console, making that Wii loose it’s glossy coat and be left with a scuffed mess. There’s other outside cosmetic horror shows on UA-cam as well. So inside and out, you’re getting a bad deal from them. Glad you added another case against them, Austin!
The magic eraser part of their video gave me anxiety. Magic Erasers are basically sandpaper, they're SO abrasive. I'd be willing to bet that's why the finish on the PS3 in this video looks so bad. Its already easily scratched and they clean things with a magic eraser 😭
I didn’t even know who DK oldies was until about a week ago, and I can say they are the reason I have never once bought a single refurbished or used item, because I know companies will just absolutely rip you off and get away with it. Rather just buy one at a garage sale

Back WAY before this drama was occurring (around May of 2022), I was planning on buying a Nintendo 2DS from them as my little sister accidentally dropped my old one down two flights of stairs in 2020, and I really wanted to get a new one. I saw some of their videos on shorts and looked on their website to see that they actually did have a few. Only drawback was the price which was almost $200.00!!!! I did have enough money though and my mom was fine with buying it, but something told us that we shouldn't get it from there. That was an amazing decision we made because we later bought from a Walmart seller for only 90 bucks and had excellent condition. That was probably a good decision we made.
I bought a nintendo switch from them and it can only down load one game at a time but het this i bought one from nintendo direct and its mid aswell who knew
Seems like a really pointless website. Regardless of the condition, stuff like 360s and PS3s are not worth the prices they're setting them at even at the best of times. These are neither new modern systems OR retro systems. They're not PS5s and they not something like a PC Engine. They're in the middle ground, the place the PS2 was at a few years ago. You should be getting these for like fifty bucks at the high end.
I’m kind of glad to have seen this, I had always assumed that DK Oldies mostly got hate for their prices, but until they get this fixed, I don’t know if I can purchase from them.

Just buy second hand from someone. Seriously. I've got 30+ consoles, all acquired for roughly 30-40 bucks at most (with exceptions, some even cheaper, and only a few a bit more expensive). All I had to do was do a teardown myself and clean it up on the inside. There's hundreds of videos online on how to do that. You also always get extra stuff with it like controllers, sometimes even games. It's just not worth it buying from them, even if they were cheaper and actually refurbished the consoles.
The problem with the ps3 is that instead of trying to clean it properly, they used the magic eraser thing, absolutely destroying the gloss finish, which probably already looked scuffed to hell
I just wanna know why almost all their PS3 consoles look similar once you start to disassemble them. If they were truly refurbished, we shouldn't be greeted by dust.
SO GLAD they are finally being exposed. Their prices have been outrages for so long, but the quality they are in is ridiculous. Along with the shorts they upload to cover there face is so wrong. Couldn't be happier with their downfall tbh
I'd happily pay a bit over the odds for a professionally restored console. I've taken a few consoles apart to clean in the past, and casemodded an xbox 360 and that's a pain in the arse as it is, so the idea of someone fully reconditioning and assessing a console is nice. What DKO do is so scummy.
I bought a top load NES from DK about a year ago. I have had no issues with it. It was the same model my mother had. Seeing all these videos about DK is quite surprising by the good that I have had. Guess its kind of like the VA, it all depends on which VA hospital you go to.
Most of the problems found in these videos is that they open up the consoles and actually check if they're refurbished, I assume you bought yours to play and probably haven't opened it up, I know I never do, if it works it works, but this doesn't mean you got a refurbished product, which is what they advertise, and for those prices it better be as advertised, you may be lucky and have an actually refurbished console, but most people were not.

Computer Exchange here in the UK, also known as CeX, are a second hand tech store who offer a 2-year warranty, so it is something that does happen, albeit rarely, and they (mostly, as I've had moments with them over the years) are pretty damn good with said warranty as well. Just wanted to throw that in there as it's kind of a rare thing, even in the UK.
I actually worked at CeX for a year up until end of November 2022. I was the main tester so if you wanted to sell any hardware it goes to me for test. I have a very strict process because I repair stuff myself (not plugging but I make videos on my channel) and I know how miserable it is buying a "refurbished" console that is basically miserable on the inside. I worked with too many consoles at CeX to know what is classified as "good" and "unacceptable". One time there was a fucking OG PS4 with dust so bad you couldn't even see the holes where the vents should be, dust was brown and green, stayed on for 10 minutes then shut off. It was extremely loud too. Had consoles with warranty stickers removed and that was a hard no. Got consoles where it was very clearly tampered with and I always said no to my managers even if they were in good Nick and fully working. As a repair tech the standards people need to have in order to maintain customers is a big responsibility, and I know how fucked up it is when people come back saying their consoles don't work, we had a few Xbox Ones and PS4s with that issue. Luckily most of them were just OS corruption I could fix in 10 minutes (even though my manager never allowed us to) but I went the extra mile to make sure my customers were satisfied using my knowledge and skills. And for DKOldies, that to me, for charging such a high price and having such a bad standard is merely unacceptable. Like Austin said, for 200 dollars you could get yourself a GameBoy Advance that's fully kitted out with good quality internals. That to me (if I wanted to spend that much) would be a better option rather than refurbished ones having bone dry internals from like 30 years ago. Fuck me. DKOldies, pattern up man.
I've bought numerous consoles and games from CeX over the years.. and can never fault them. Everything I bought, especially my Wii, for £45, mint condition, and included all the accessories was the best thing they offered.
I have only 1 issue with CeX. About 4-5 years ago, I bought a Silver Fat PS2 with a controller for £27. Those were the days, lol. My controller was broken. I had to get a new one, but besides that. That's the only issue I have had with them.
Same in Australia CeX does a good job honouring and standing behind their products, I have bought stuff from them before and what do you know?… the thermal paste was new, and it was dusted out. Granted they don’t do it for all, but at least they don’t call it refurbished. For the items I have had issues with, no questions asked, they replace it.
As far as the Xbox 360 goes, are you sure that it was grease? When I worked at EB Games waaaaaaay back in 2001, we had a customer who would keep warranty exchanging his PS2 every other week. One day, my supervisor was taking one in (again) and had some black stuff fall out of the console. "What's this?" he asked incredulously. "Well, the disc drive was noisy so I sprayed some graphite in there." Yeah. He had been doing that every time he got a new one. My theory is that the disc drive on the Xbox 360 was noisy so they sprayed some silicone lube in there to quiet it. This never works without a thorough cleaning first, so you're probably just getting the efflux that didn't stick to the dirty parts. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for this video. I honestly got tired of getting videos from them that are made to promote older generation's nostalgia to younger folks, only to sell a trashier version of old gen's memories. You deserve better than these scams.
For the gamecube their region can be changed very easily if you just move one fuse up. If you crack it open you will probably see where the worm is done. It's better to use a switch though because you are already doing the soldering and it enables you to play from any region.
8:00 the grease makes sense cuz you have to grease the mechanical parts in the disk drive in order for the tray to come out smoothly on the 360. So with that said, you are always gonna have a little bit of residue left over. As for the dust, yeah there is no excuse for that.
After losing my original dreamcast as a kid in one of the many moves across the country I was forced to do by my parents, I bought one for like 40 bucks off ebay in 2014, that was fully operational without any issues whatsoever. It also came with two controllers that had no flaws. If there was one complaint I had about it, there was what I consider to be a minor cosmetic flaw, with what appeared to be a slight crack in the top cover, but it was not an issue. My brother now has that dreamcast, along with all the retro systems I bought off ebay back then for like 50 bucks max.... I can't believe the price DKOldies is charging for these consoles. And after all the videos I have seen on them, they should be sued for false advertisement.
Based on the DKOldies sticker on the Dreamcast, it looks like it may have been returned. If so, they probably actually cleaned it this time and resold it.
I would imagine the scuffing on the top of the Sunshine disc is due to a common problem with resurfacing GameCube discs. Because they’re small, they often times like to get covered and have residue left over that would normally be left to like, the very sides of a normal disc. Super common to find that residue and scuffs on resurfaced GameCube games sadly
Hey, I wanted to chime in a little bit about the GameStop consoles as an employee there, it looks like that Xbox you bought was never sent out to the refurb center. The stickers on the side of yours indicate it was taken in as a trade and immediately put back out for sale. The refurb center puts specific stickers on theirs to indicate it was a refurbishment instead of just a pre-owned. So if you ordered a refurb specifically then you got screwed but it looks like it was never sent out.
Among the popular theories, one that I am supporting is that they took in more orders than they could fulfill using the advertised process, and started taking shortcuts to save face, then slowly sank into all shortcuts and still made the videos to rake in more profits!
if company's like Gamestop can somewhat refurbish systems so can they Dk oldies is nothing but a scam and to be called out by the biggest tech reviewer on the platform is something else hopefully they get the message probably not
To be fair the process they showed was checking to see if it worked, then taking it apart when it didn't. They never mentioned what they do if it works, which is apparently just clean off the exterior and ship it.
@@jsaiz681593 exactly, also refurbishing your own console only takes around 2 hours, you only need the right screwdrivers, thermal paste and some guide videos, I clean my PS3fat model a few years ago and now I refurbish every console I manage to buy, it's a nice hobby too!

I guy locally told me a lot about these consoles. Many people have no idea how many on the market are never actually cleaned. GameStop was literally forced to actually refurbish these consoles once the word got out. The same goes for TVs & other electronics. The major failure is dust build up. Eventually the fans can't disperse the heat, & they start overheating which slowly kills the boards
Is that why EB Games over here in New Zealand actually started branding their consoles as refurbished not pre owned, cause GameStop was caught out and made to actually refurbish

I've said it before and I'll say it again, DKOldies need to be held accountable for what they're doing to people. Not just the ridiculous pricing but the way they don't even touch the inside of their "Refurbished" consoles. Good to see Austin showing his viewers this!
The only way to hurt DKOldies is to not give them your money. Take your business elsewhere! (Not you, you. The general you.)
Agreed they should be held accountable it's good to see more people showing what dk does.

In an interview a previous employee stated their refurbished consoles are all previously returned "used" consoles that had since been repaired.
You mentioned it in the beginning but the fact that there was a huge batch order on systems, which should've alerted them it was probably a content creator, and they still couldn't be bothered with refurbishing them is quite concerning.

Your definition isn’t legal, is it? Without a legal definition, there is no real footing to say what these words mean in context.
The last snes i bought was 10 dollars. The last gamecube was 20... Prices have gone insane.
This is why I’m fine with buying 50$ older used consoles from pawnshops or local game stores. I have everything needed to actually refurbish it myself and they usually have a 30-60 day return window incase i find a problem i can’t fix.
Man, this is why I'm very grateful that I've been able to keep all of my older consoles and didn't need to trade them to when I moved on to the next generation.
I tend to take really good care of my consoles and at least twice a year I'll open it up and clean the inside, fans, etc...
Luckily my consoles going back to the Xbox 360, PS3, and even my PS2 are still in good condition.
These Retro games prices are pretty outrageous.
I never trade my consoles, I just wait a few years until I have the money to buy the next gen

I'm sad cuz my dad made me give my ps1 to my cousin who destroyed it by the time we went back to his house already. A former friend stole my DS and pokemon game in it. My ps2 fell like 20 yrs ago and only reads ps1 games and my mom forced me to trade in my 360. I wanna buy a ds but I haven't seen any anywhere near as pristine as I keep my shit for sale. I only sold my old stuff so I could buy the new stuff coming out, later i knew that what i was doing was a mistake since when i sold my ps3 to buy a ps4 i had to give up the ps3 for 100 bucks and still give 300 more
Then the same game shop was selling my ps3 for 200 bucks
Only consoles I care about LOOKING good is handhelds. So honestly the Xbox and PlayStations were overcharged just for that tbh.

These are neither new modern systems OR retro systems. They're not PS5s and they not something like a PC Engine. They're in the middle ground, the place the PS2 was at a few years ago. You should be getting these for like fifty bucks at the high end.

@@MrNuRetroPlays I bought 1 game once and the disc didn't read. Went back to return it and there was no fuss whatsoever.

"Well, the disc drive was noisy so I sprayed some graphite in there."
Yeah.

4:07 Austin asking his friends to feel his Wii
Hey, I wanted to chime in a little bit about the GameStop consoles as an employee there, it looks like that Xbox you bought was never sent out to the refurb center. The stickers on the side of yours indicate it was taken in as a trade and immediately put back out for sale. The refurb center puts specific stickers on theirs to indicate it was a refurbishment instead of just a pre-owned. So if you ordered a refurb specifically then you got screwed but it looks like it was never sent out.
Then why was it sold as a refurbished console? Either way he got scammed.
