That’s the way I’m used to having them too! I made a double batch about 2 weeks ago and shared with my brother and sister in law and their 3 almost grown children…they LOVED them and talked about how great they were for more than a week! Then I took some to my neighbor on the other side who just split up with his girlfriend, I thought some yummy treats would help him, I hope he enjoyed them, haven’t seen him since. The rest were for my son and myself, and we enjoyed every last one of them! We lost my momma, it will be 2 years ago in October, my brothers comment was perfect because mom used to make these for us - he said it’s like a time machine for the mouth and brain and he felt mom when he ate it…that made me happy to hear❤. I’ve not tried this kind, I’m afraid I’d miss the ganache on top 😢
I have enjoyed the twelve days of Christmas so much. I have wrote them all down and I will be making several of these for my gift baskets this year, so thank you for sharing your yummy tried and true recipes for us. I am very thankful that I came across your channel. You and Melissa are such sweet people too.
I just made regular rice crispy treats my twist this time was 2/3cup of mini M&M's. They look like little jewels in the RCTreat. Because I'm a 66 yr old woman who most of my adult life has been allergic to peanuts I can't do yours. But thought you might like to know what I do. Last Christmas I found cut red, green, gold and silver balls and cut the treats in chrismas tree shapes and decorated with the little balls too. Will do these if my nieces and nephews come visit.😊
How in the world anyone could come up with so many wonderful recipes that are perfect,I mean Really perfect, I don’t know! Love this ! Thank you so much.
Always nice to see another way of making this delightful treat. I've made it with honey, chocolate rices, M&Ms, white chocolate drops, and marshmallows,. Yummy. Grandies make their own now.😊😊❤❤
Yummy!!! The Cocoa Puffs sounds good too. Some Carmel chips and chocolate chips. Then the milk and marshmallows. You could have turtle rice crispy treats! Lol!! Thanks Tom and Melissa
Ooh 😲. So good. I make butterscotch hay stacks. Super rich and super good. People use fruity pebbles & cocoa Krispies. I’m sure they’re all delicious.. Already can’t wait for tomorrow’s recipe. Thank you both so much for your dedication to these videos. I thoroughly enjoy every one of them. 🙏🏻 I actually buttered my hands to press the Krispie treats down.
Hey Tom, QVC has those LeCreuset pots and pans, I have one in navy and you're so right they are great! Wish Melissa would get on camera!!!! Saw her in the Thanksgiving video, she's beautiful and should be on more!!
Love these! And my Mom always used the Cocoa Krispies when making the peanut butter version. But her recipe didn't include the sweetened condensed milk and I'm sure that addition does make these even better. Thanks for another great treat recipe. I am not going to want to see this series come to an end❤😊
I love listening to your videos! I am blind and you give lots of details when you are preparing a dish. I can't wait to make this recipe. I just bought some marshmallows and was thinking of some ways to give them more flavor. BTW, once you place the mixture in your dish, you can use parchment paper to press it down, this works like a jewel. Keep on cookin'
Oh, do I ever love your parchment paper hack! Thanks for sharing. In our family we always run a big soup spoon through the butter dish to press down the mixture into the pan. I like your way better.
I always use the wrapper from the butter, works perfectly! However I did read recently that if you pack them down too tightly it makes them tough, but you do need to get them somewhat flattened just to look right. 😊
I’m LOVING the 12 day series!! I actually really look forward to it everyday now 😊 it’s gonna hurt when it’s over:(. These are all so yummy looking and totally doable, your videos are very informative and you are clear about the ingredients and directions. I very much appreciate all your hard work, now I can plan the treat trays for my family this year with some new stuff! Thank you!! ❤
La cruisa misspelled cook wear is the best . Every time I would get a birthday gift from my father I would buy a new pot. Liked blue or the orange, never saw the red. I am looking for a lime green piece
We are so enjoying these recipes! Thank You so very much and Merry Christmas to you two! Please feel free to send them to Covington, GA - We will be glad to take care of them.
I LOVE butterscotch. So happy to have a new recipe for butterscotch. This has been fun. So many new things to try out. Thanks. BTW - I'm a St. Jude supporter too.
Love this series. Thank you for it! For some reason, I've never really been a fan of Rice Krispie treats made with marshmallows. My mother used to make a peanut butter version that didn't have marshmallows in them. Loved those! Adding the butterscotch chips to them would have been really good too, I'm sure. You folks are great, and I appreciate all you do.
You could use wax paper too, or parchment paper, but this is so expensive....better to buy a SILPAT Liner and no more wasted paper....best to have two if you make a lot of cookies at one time..... they are so worth the money....don't buy knock off's I did and it was a waste of money....love the Silpat and you will too....
I have been making what is known as "Scotcharoos" since the late 1960's. A lot of the recipes calls for corn syrup, but I never used that stuff. Peanut butter, butter and marshmallows melted together, add the rice cereal, press into a 9x13 pan, and top with melted chocolate, a tablespoon or so of peanut butter and butterscotch bits. I like your idea of adding butterscotch bits and sweetened condensed milk to the butter and peanut butter. I would still top with the melted chocolate. Thanks for an updated crispy treat recipe.
I just found your 12 days of Christmas 2023 and love the recipes. If you're ever in TN, stop at the Lodge Cast Iron store in Sevierville TN. It's a great store, usually with percentages off, plus they have some factory seconds with minimal damage at great prices. We usually stop there on the way back to PA from visiting our daughter, son in law, and granddaughter in GA.
As you say an old time favourite - for sure!! Thank you for all the delicious sweet treat recipes, we can pick and choose what we wish to make. Enjoy, many blessings.
When I was little we made the rice crispy treats with peanutbutter, and topped it with a mix of melted butterscotch and semisweet chocolate chips. It’s an old family fave. I believe we mixed the peanutbutter with Karo on the stove before pouring it on top of the rice crispies. It was delightful.
I got a large Lodge Dutch oven at Amazon for $38.00 on a lightning sale. They had several colors, but the only color that was at that price was navy blue. I love it! I’ve never owned a Dutch oven, but I wouldn’t want to be without one now. I highly recommend them. Now, concerning this recipe…..YUMMY! I’m definitely going to try this! 😊💯👍🏼
I love watching all your videos but I am really enjoying your 12 days of Christmas. I do plan on doing many of your treats to give to my friends at church and my neighbors.
If you want to use a metal or plastic spoon to smooth out the panfful, keep a container of very warm water close by. Dip the spoon in the water as often as needed. Definitely keeps your hands to yourself.
Love your 12 Days of Christmas. I make peanut butter rice krispies with the sweet cond/ milk as well. Everyone doesn't care for butterscotch so I add m&m's mini .
I LOVE that you have offered some non chocolate holiday items for those of us that have dietary restrictions. Usually ONLY chocolate items are offered.
You are killing me with all of these sweets recipes! Costing me a small fortune to get the ingredients to make everything but I will! Making fruit cake this weekend but it won’t because”ripened” in time for Christmas. And the Mac and cheese recipes was fantastic! No one knew there was cottage cheese in side! Thank you, Thank you!
What a sweet treat your 12 Days of Christmas has turned out to be. I'm going on 73 and when I was a kid of about 10, I was making something similar with Cocoa Puffs, peanut butter and marshmallow cream. If my memory is right, I think they were called Cocoa Peanut Squares. I'm a butterscotch fiend and can't wait to try these.
I’ve been making these for 30+ years, except: 6 cups Rice Crispies, 1 PKG butterscotch chips, 1 CUP peanut butter & I use the microwave to melt. So good (keep refrigerated)
I have never heard of Le Creuset until I saw your salt and pepper containers. You are teaching me so much! 😊 Unfortunately they are no longer available as I could not find them any where online. Those Dutch ovens are nice. I have not decided which treat I will be making to share yet. They are all so good! Thank you Melissa & Tom!
Hello Tom & Melissa, instead of wetting your hand with water, you can - butter your hands- place parchment paper on top before pressing down or using heavy plastic wrap & press w hands. I find using water causes the crispy ’ness to be lessened & food to stale quicker. Merry Christmas and God Bless❣️
I am a new subscriber, l love your video's and have made a couple of your recipes . I agree the 12 days of Christmas is fun l look forward to new video's everyday 😊🇨🇦🇨🇦
I enjoyed learning about this recipe! I want you to know that I made your potato soup recipe and it was delicious!! We ate it with grilled cheese sandwiches……wonderful. My husband went back for seconds!
I make rice Krispies all the time now that I have a microwave recipe for it less than 5 mintues and your eating them LOL. I have never made these, but I have a nephew who makes them but he melts Chocolate on top of them I think his chocolate has some butterscotch chips melted in it too. Best thing I have found to use to press Krispie treats down is the butter paper. It has enough butter to press down without sticking to the paper. Thanks for sharing
I used to make regular Rice Krispie treats and then dipped the tops in melted chocolate or peanut butter candy melts. Added some sprinkles on top right before the candy melts hardened. ❤
I have one of them with la crusade dutch oven mine is green best thing I have ever bought. I was so lucky I got mine at a yard sale excellent condition for $30.. I cherish it
I'm really enjoying these 12 days of Christmas. I've always enjoyed making and giving treats and candy for Christmas. This year I will get to spend Christmas with my 2 great grandbabies who I haven't met yet, & I'm going to Alabama to meet them 😇😍 So I will take your recipes with me so I can make them some of your treats.

Simply the best videos & I thank you. Extra great that you give us the recipe to copy. Haven’t had Rice Krispie treats in forever & these look marvelous. I will be making these.
Your 12 days of Christmas have been so much fun! ❤ Thanks!
In the Midwest we make these & frost with chocolate ganache-they’re known as scotcharoos 😊
That’s the way I’m used to having them too! Each day gets better and better, just purchased the ingredients for the turtles & fudge... thank you so much for the 12 days!❤🎉
Oh, I must’ve missed the turtle recipe. I’ll have to go check that out.

Great ideas not a fan of butterscotch
Yummy!!! The Cocoa Puffs sounds good too. Some Carmel chips and chocolate chips. Then the milk and marshmallows. You could have turtle rice crispy treats! Lol!! Thanks Tom and Melissa
Another good idea 😊
Melt some chocolate over the top of that dessert. Absolutely delicious. I bought a candy thermometer yesterday for the fudge recipe.

All good food has a little “handiwork” in it!
This sounds like a great upgrade to an old favorite! A must try!

Yes it sure does.....
Hey! I have a groove for St Jude shirt just like yours!
Love how you take us thru each step. I am in KY. now. A Tennessee transplant.
It is a must in your kitchen. Enamel cast iron is stove to oven 🧑🍳. Love it also. Rice Krispies are a favorite in my family.

This has been great. All practical recipes with a twist.when I start packing them in I butter my spoon and the spatula so the mess doesn’t stick.
Hello Tom & Melissa, instead of wetting your hand with water, you can - butter your hands- place parchment paper on top before pressing down or using heavy plastic wrap & press w hands. I have loved every One Of 7:38 your videos and have shared a lot.. I have all notifications on to get you every time you and your wife comes up.. Thank you for putting up the Christmas recipes I will be using them for sure.. Take care of God bless
Good way to flatten the top is to use the butter wrapper to smooth that out
To dress them up you could set choc. candy bars on top when hot and let melt then spread to cover top.
I really like that small rubber spatula! Where did you find such a handy device?
Wow, this sounds great! I love that red Dutch oven.
Rice Krispy fudge
Simply the best videos & I thank you. Extra great that you give us the recipe to copy. Haven’t had Rice Krispie treats in forever & these look marvelous. I will be making these.
Great treat ❤ Yummy
