Thank you Joan-Marie! You are the "go-to-gal" for decoupage! I've watched many other videos to learn the art of decoupage and of all the videos I've watched, yours are the most professional and lovely. Decoupage is my new treat to start the new year. I can't wait to begin! You have been quite the inspiration for me to get started. Merci beaucoup! You know what I mean, right?? :)
Hi there! Oui! Of course I know! Thank you so much for letting me know my videos are both helpful AND inspirational! I hope you will try some decoupage and let me know how it goes! Have a wonderful New Year! Joan 😊💕
I’ve been using a tiny paint brush but I’m thinking about getting a water pen because it seems to do a better job . I could watch you decoupage things forever you’re so good at it . I’m going to try this method that’s a great idea .
Hi Rita! I love the water brush because it works so fast but also I just don’t want a cup of water on my work surface, I spill stuff! Thank you so much for the lovely compliment I certainly appreciate it! Rocks are a wonderful item to decoupage. That’s where I started and I recommend practicing on them too! Thank you so much for watching! - Joan 🙂
Hi Lou! There are several brands. You can try Rustoleum which has one called “triple thick” which is glossy and DuraClear makes a glossy too. Other clear sealants by other brands too just look for the word GLOSSY. I have links for sealants in each video description. Thanks for watching! - Joan 🙂
Thank you for your video. I enjoyed it! I'm looking for an item to make and sell at craft shows. Do you think that decoupage rocks sell? Thank you for your video!
Cathy Wolfe hi! I’m glad you enjoyed my video. I don’t know if decoupaged rocks would sell at craft shows. I think you will have to make a bunch and see how it goes. They are inexpensive to make so I don’t think you have much to lose! Good luck and I hope it works out for you, let me know! ❤️
Cathy, I am wanting to add more unique, personalized items for the new 'metaphysical' notions shop I want to open on Etsy, plus also sell at local markets with my soaps and wax melts/candles. I think if you do a variety of looks, especially popular images then you might be able to move them and make some extra cash! I'm going to be doing some fairy, mermaid, and maybe unicorn ones. You should also look into the decoupaging on old glass jars and mason jars to make 'night lights' or 'fairy lights'. That would go hand in hand!
Joan can we use magzine paper as it is thick so iam confused or we can do decoupage only with tissue papers??I will be doing it for the first time and because of corona we all are under lockdown inside our house so wanted to lear this art
Hi Cheshta! Normally we would decoupage with napkins or tissue. Being as things are not normal right now you can decoupage using pages from magazines, wrapping paper, coloring book pages, newspaper, etc. You can cut shapes out and glue them onto things you may have around the house like tin cans, jars, bottles! If the paper is heavier you may want to dampen it so it’s easier to work with. Don’t be confused, just cut out shapes and glue them onto things. You will come up with some beautiful designs! ❤️🙂

Hi!!! I always go to Vippies for my napkins, but do they sell dinner size napkins?
Hi Lisa! Yes they sell dinner size but I think they may call it guest size. It’s large and has 6 panels when open. ❤️ Joan
Thank you! I love your videos and the assortment of beautiful napkins at Vippies!!!
For a beginner can any type of napkins be use for decoupaging? Example from dollar tree, Walmart etc.
Hi Tammy! Yes any decorative paper napkin will work! 👍😊- Joan
Hi can you tell me what sealant can we use to get a gloss finish ? The name and brand?

Beautiful! However....perhaps you could show to do it without that water pen because us beginners probably do not have one....yet.☺
You can use a brush dipped in water of course but you will want a water brush. They’re pretty cheap, check the Dollar Tree! - Joan 🙂
