    Just in case someone is wondering if this works...Aafter receiving my set of coasters from you - I can endorse your application method. My Husband looked at the coasters and said 'Have these been printed on to the coaters'?! That's how good these look. No creases, bubbles or wrinkles at all. Stunning finish xx

    Hello Iveta! My name is Donna, and I live in Florida, in the USA. I watched this video several times before I actually fort the courage to actually try it. I have never decoupaged before, but I really wanted to try this method. I took it slow, and worked with my napkin as patiently as I could. I can’t believe that I actually did it! I got a round piece of wood from my local dollar store, and painted it black and white. I applied my napkin to the white end of the round.it looks so good! Thank you for sharing this with all of us! I can’t wait to do some fall decor!

    You can use this same process on large pieces! The trick is in working in sections. My friend and I did an armoire for her daughters wedding present from mum using this technique. We laid it down on it's back to do the front. When that was finished & dry we paid it first on one side then the other to complete the sides. The trick is to work in small sections and piece them together on the project. Like you we added a crackle finish. The end result was spectacular and produced a piece to be treasured for life. It took us 2 full weekends devoted to doing just the decoupaging but so well worth the time. The primary difference was we had to separate the sections we planned to use from the rest of the napkin. We used 3 different pattern napkins. One that was an open vine print, one that had birds and a floral set of napkins that had 4 different large flowers. I've since done a large urn using the same technique as an anniversary gift. The armoire was picked up on the roadside! We'd been searching thrift stores & yard sales for one like it. Great find! The Urn came from a thrift store for $2 us. Ebay is the source for all our napkins. Be a little careful of the really cheap sets from China. They're often so thin whole sections will just dissolve when you get them wet.

    I'm about to decoupage a large piece of furniture and am going to try this. Since the glue goes only on top of the napkin, I'm assuming if I screw up that I can immediately take a sponge and wipe it all off and do it again. Also, I guess, because the napkin is wet, that allows the glue to penetrate without having to apply glue to the substrate/surface. Brilliant and thank you for sharing this technique!

    OMG why have I only just found this now. Holy moly guacamole!! 😲😲 THIS is an absolute game changer in my book. I’ve never been able to do just straight decoupage without any help. When I say help I mean like I’ve done the decoupage with the cling film, iron & fire. And all do work for me so I can’t complain about them. But sometimes I do get problems with each of them. I can’t wait to try this as I’ve got a lot of coasters to do. The only difference is mine are round. But after watching the video the girl did say this technique will also work on curved/round edges. Fingers crossed it works on a round circle 🤞I actually feel excited to do some decoupage now rather than that dreaded feeling in the pit of your stomach because you know something is going to go wrong lol. Happy decoupaging all 😄

    Thank you! I put a napkin on the back of a clear plate recently and although imperfection is acceptable I would have liked not having wrinkles in the napkin. Once I put on the Modge Podge, it crackled which gave it a little more texture, but I ended up having to paint over the Modge Podge layer with white paint because the napkin itself was too translucent. Painting it made the napkin image stand out more and I'm ok with the result, but will try this method on some coasters next.

    Thank you for the tutorial. I’m new to decoupage and the projects I’m wanting to do are a bit larger. My first attempt was a disaster . I’m going to try it this way! I’ll take your advice and do some small things first. Have a lovely day!

    Thank you, this has improved the quality of my work. I did find that instead of using the cloth to dab off the excess water I used a "Fan Brush" it worked great. I'm a bit heavy handed ;-)

      That’s amazing! I’m so happy that you found a way to work around it, that’s what it’s all about! We all learn from each other but we all also have to adapt that knowledge to fit us best! ☺️

    Thank you for this tutorial! I've just tried using Mod Podge to attach the napkins to the ceramic tile and it was a wrinkled mess. I also didn't know you needed to separate the layers of the napkins. Can't wait to try this.

      What if you want it to wrap over

    • @caroljackson3036
      @caroljackson3036 Рік тому

      @@lesliekornegay4563 I leave about a 1/4" extra napkin on all sides and then use the mod podge to coat the sides and wrap it under. The corners take a little finessing.

      If your using a circle- how to you get the creases out of edges of circle?

    • @caroljackson3036
      @caroljackson3036 Рік тому

      @@lesliekornegay4563 I have recently applied a napkin to a CD and it was easier with the single ply napkin. Trim the napkin to the 1/4 inch and keep adding mod podge to get it smooth. Hope that helps!

    Great process and I am impressed with how it turned out. I was surprised when you added the mod podge to the wet napkin. I am planning on making coaster sets for my coworkers. Thank you for sharing your technique.
