    Hi JoanMarie ..I love watching all your demos and hope to get some lovely Vippie design napkins when in the US in October, but in the mean time could you please give me any tips on decoupaging on a thin metal picture frame, any ideas are welcome. Thank you from the UK

      Hi! For anything smooth I give a couple coats of chalk paint, the napkin will adhere better. Hope that helps! Joan

    Although many good decoupage people out there you are very easy to follow and explain as you do it with dos and don’ts. I like you have videos for all different surfaces.

      Hi Radha! Many times I do say in my videos what type of paint I use especially the chalky Rustoleum paint. This information is also in the description area. People from all over the world watch my videos and many brands I use are not available in different countries that’s why I try to describe. I will make a note of your suggestion and see if more info can be added. Thank you for watching! - Joan 🙂

      Yes I will. I really never cared for it much before because I figured there was way to much work you had to put into it, but since I watched your video and see it seems to be fairly easy I will most certainly give it a try.
      Thank you again for this wonderful tutorial. P.S. I LOVE the horse plaque & the bird houses, and that pig on the rock is just adorable 😊😊😊

    And to think I spend money on a crackle medium. Will this technique work on paper?

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  Рік тому

      Hi! The glue and paint would weaken the paper and it would rip. Plus the hair dryer would blow it away. I’d say NO to paper. - Joan

    Joan, does this crackle technique need to be sealed with some kind of sealer when it's done. Sorry to bother you but I'm a beginner.

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  Рік тому

      Hi Barb! I usually don’t seal any of my crackle because it changes the look. I would seal it if it was going outside or will be hand,ed a lot! Joan 🙂

    Hello, do you varnish these when finished, I'm thinking you must, but not sure x

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  2 роки тому

      I seal them with a clear spray from rustoleum or Krylon. Both are waterproof and then you can put them outside. If the sealant has a uva protectant then they shouldn’t fade too quickly. 🙂 Joan

    Can the glue and paint be left to air dry ,will it still crack x

    • @JoanMarieDomino
      @JoanMarieDomino  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Sharon! I think it will crackle if left to air dry. The glue dries and contracts forming cracks. I love the magic with the hairdryer, lol ❤️ Joan

    Does the glue have to dry before paint application?

    • @becauseiamawezome
      @becauseiamawezome 4 роки тому +1

      I was wondering same thing

    • @MrsAllum1
      @MrsAllum1 Рік тому

      You don't want it to dry completely. You just want it to get tacky enough that you can paint on it without dragging the glue around the item.
      The , as the glue dries, it contracts. Thereby pulling the paint away from itself.
