The voice by Gabriel Woolfe is amazing as Suketh.
Tom Baker & Gabriel Woolf.
The two greatest speaking voices in Doctor Who
Valentine Dyall: Am I a joke to you? 😉
I hope Sutekh uses his power of EVIL GREEN LIGHTBULB!!
Too bad they didn't. It was scarier.
0:07 When you get too stoned and just want to watch some good ole Sarcopho-vision
He did it, he said the line.
What makes Sutekh so chilling is not just his power to destroy all life, but that voice!
That music that plays whenever Sutekh is on screen, its ambience is just so intimidating along with that threatening yet somehow innocent voice.
Sutekh is scary because he doesn’t need to shout like Davros or other baddies to be scary when you’re a kid.
0:42 The doctor is in
medication time
Not a fan of “CGI” Gozer/Zuel/“Sutekh” so far. I mean, they kept nothing of the original aesthetics. They didn’t even bother to get his eye color right? All we HAD in the 70s were those piercing green lights for eyes, the mask and the papermache dog face that STILL creeps me out to this day. I dunno man. Maybe it’s why I prefer the Classic series. They did so much MORE with so much LESS.
They got that Disney money so they are gonna indulge themselves.
@hamanu666 Not to mention RTD had his own interpretation months in advance before the filming of episodes 7 and 8
Look the new series was mid as hell but come now, he looks pretty goofy dude lmfao
and it's hard to be creeped out with the charming yet hilarious zoom shots they do on the doctor
the only reason Zutek and many other species look the way they do is because of budget and technology constraints
New Zutek though dumb af in concept as to why he's there aside, looks more akin to what he's meant to be
The mask? Yes but that blatantly fake-ass Jackal head? No way man, that shit just looked goofy as hell and basically destroyed any amount of intimidation he had up to that point. I'm all for using practical effects for monsters and most of the time it does look way better than cgi, but this is one of the few exceptions.
True story: when the repeats of Classic Who were on tv in the 90’s 7 year old me watched with my 4 year old sister. They did The Green Death and my sister had a nightmare that the giant maggots were crawling up her bed. I thought it was funny and made fun of her. Then Sutekh lit up his eyes and pinned Tom to the wall a few weeks later and guess who jumped behind the sofa and had nightmares about Sutekh? 🤣 Just desserts really.
Doctor who is a force of justice in real life too, I guess.
For me, the Silurians first appearance...
When I first saw The Sea Devils and one of them actually CHASED the Doctor 'round that sea fort I was terrified! My dad was at his rugby club so I ran round the house looking for my mum but she was nowhere! I was even more scared! Where is she???!!!!! Oh...she's out in the garden. Phew! I'm safe now. Awh 😄
@@hopebgood Awwwww! To be fair on the flip side when I was 4 my dad showed me the Peter Cushing Dalek movie I remember bursting into tears when they trapped the Dalek on the cloak and ‘killed’ it because I didn’t really understand the Daleks were the baddies at that point. 😅 All I saw was a thing with a funny voice screaming and being ‘killed’ by the TARDIS crew, and it was a couple years before dad and mum were comfortable with reintroducing me to Who (when I ultimately got way more into it than my dad ever did). 😋
@@DerektheDalek heh heh, that's cool. My only other real WhoScare was when I saw The Three Doctors and the gell guards appeared. Yes. Really! 😉 I couldn't stand them and their wobbly globbiness and I would have to change the channel every time they came on screen!
He leaves behind nothing but Dust and Darkness!!
a bit like an ex wife
And he finds that ...good.
@jeckjeck3119 Indeed he does!!
Our evil is his good! He is Sutekh the Destroyer!
Typical student.
Fingers crossed the old helmet returns tomorrow.
1:38 Sutekh: Who dares enter my prison?
The finale empire of death was pathetic
I wouldn't go that far, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed in how they resolved the mystery of Ruby's mother. I don't mind that her mother turned out to be an ordinary person, but the explanation for why Sutekh couldn't perceive her wasn't plausible enough to suspend my disbelief.
I know right? All that buildup for "The One Who Waits" and the reveal of one of the most powerful DW antagonists ever, only to defeat him in a single episode with a damn rope. That's some GOT season 8 type s**t
For me, Tom Baker is the best doctor ever. David Tennant is #2
After Hartnell, I agree with both
You're selling Troughton and Pertwee short. Not to mention Colin Baker, who kills it on audio.
Daring today, aren't we?
1:40 argh!
We need continuity, honestly so underwhelmed with doctor who even with RTD back...cmon RTD give us good doctor who again, you are the show!
Tales of the tardis episode 7 is on tonight, I know I seen this story before but I am looking forward to watching it again.
Either Ruby is the daughter of Sutekh or somehow the key to defeating Sutekh.
Been pointed out that the Eye of Horus that kept Sutekh imprisoned was a ruby… 🤯
@@DerektheDalek
...A sacrifice.
@@DerektheDalekAnd Sutekh currently has what looks like a Ruby imbedded in his forehead…
A descendant of Horus? 🤔
@@minicle426 why did I not think of this theory? 🤯
Can we all take a moment to appreciate the gravity will be call mavity for the rest of Disney who
So....how did the mummy robots survive the explosion?
They didn't, there were at least four to begin with. iirc that's mentioned in the story, where Sutekh directs that two be withdrawn from searching for humans within the deflection barrier to work on the missile.
@@richardgregory3684 One gets immobilised and unbandaged, two blown up with the rocket, two more are then seen with Scarman, and then only one goes with them in the TARDIS to Mars. So there's a robot mummy still lumbering round in 1911!
@@rowanc88aw heck, keep it away from the Orient Express at all costs!
"Ahh-haaa!"
Wow! 1970's BBC special effects! Poor Tom; he may not stand a chance (nudge, nudge)!
This is gonna be epic!!!!!!!!!
Sutekh is kind of how I imagined Darth Plagueis to be.🤔
Have you ever heard the tale of Darth Plaqueis the wise?
i didn't think so, its not a story the jedi would tell
@@RSwizard101vids Have you ever heard the tale of Sutekh the Destroyer? I didn't think so. It's not a story the Star Wars franchise would tell.
This is my favourite scene from Pyramids of Mars
Howard de Silva "The Doctor has stopped Sutekh from escaping his prison. However, Sutekh has subjected the Doctor to great mental pain. How will the Doctor survive? Find out on the next episode of Doctor Who."

I can't wait for Empire Of Death.
BBC UA-cam channels still fail to upload 4:3 content in 4:3, I see
One of the most busted characters in fiction ever.
No match for Glorb Glab though
Literally nothing can contain him except his own kind. And even then it took over *400* of them and they just *barely* succeeded.
@@HawkTeevsand then just one time lord

A leash did defeat him
Cant wait for more great content from this channel!
No offence, but that is the 3rd time (that I can count) that you've said this exact same thing on different items, literally on THIS channel. Are you actually a paid shill?
@@Face2East It's a bot
I could tell instantly this was a language model, fake irrelevant positivity
Identify yourself.
I vividly recall watching this as a 4 year old back in 1975. The end of episode one, with the smoke rising from the shoulders left a huge impact. This show has always worked best when scaring the living daylights out of you.
Dr Who a sci-fi series did better job than Gods of Egypt on portraying Set appearance wise
Set (/sɛt/; Egyptological: Sutekh - swtẖ ~ stẖ[a] or: Seth /sɛθ/) is a *god of deserts, storms, disorder, violence, and foreigners in ancient Egyptian religion.[6]: 269 *
Set had a positive role where he accompanies Ra on his barque to repel Apep, the serpent of Chaos.[6]: 269 Set had a vital role as a reconciled combatant.[6]: 269 He was lord of the Red Land (desert), where he was the balance to Horus' role as lord of the Black Land (fertile land).[6]: 269
Doctor Who Forever
Another schill repeating the same thing here. Jesus christ, I'd say they were breeding but that's obviously not going to happen. Who is making these accounts just to say things like this?
When doctor who was a great show...........good o' days....
❤❤❤❤❤❤
When Doctor Who was good and Sutekh didn't look like Hartley Hare...
tbh I'll give you that one on Hartley Hare, my only slight gripe about an amazing cliffhanger.
Have you seen Sutekh’s original face? The one under the mask?
“Pyramids of Mars” is definitely a top-tier story but that specific effect certainly lets the side down a bit. No blame to the BBC, they worked with what they had and Sutekh had already well proven his power. That said…the effect used for 2024 Sutekh truly MAKES the Osiran God of Death look every bit as frightening as he truly IS! 😍😅😁
@@christopheralthouse6378 Er....we meant "The Legend of Ruby Sunday" version of Sutekh. It was an amazing cliffhanger and I LOVED it but there's a definite whiff of Hartley Hare about the new Sutekh.
@@hopebgood Yeah…and I was drawing a comparison to the original effect used in “Pyramids of Mars”…
@@christopheralthouse6378 I can imagine RTD sitting at his huge Producers desk, pounding his fist on it screaming "No, no, no! Sutekh should be more Pipkins!" 😉
18 mins ago?? Hello hi WHAT bbc???
That Doctor looks like someone from the band Queen😂

@@BLMT-df4on yea
Ngl I was disappointed it wasn’t the trickster
Very early for this one ❤
When it was good 👍
bet you can't name a single example of why it's less good now
70s was peak of doctor who, still the best run of stories
@@newman476 all i said was that i bet that person can't name a single example of why it's less good now lol. acting like it's not good full stop right now is just being facetious, and since i'm seeing this opinion repeated constantly by people who can't even name a single detail of the new series i doubt any of them have even seen it
@@fgjsdfgjkl Oh I get it. I just think that someone arguing 70s Who is better than current Who is playing on easy mode. Better and Worse don’t necessarily equate to Good and Bad. I just don’t think challenging someone on such a non-point leads to constructive conversation, that’s all.
@@newman476 Is it even possible to compare the two? The art of storytelling evolved so much in the last 50 years. The changes in society and the world's balance of power also immensely affected the way we write stories. To me, it's just good to see DW keep up with it's time
Back when Doctor Who was about story and entertainment. The good old days.
no one's forcing you to keep watching and crying about it
@@cuppahorror I’m not watching it, so stop crying about my comment. I hope you heal from being forced to read it 😭
@@HiVisl what about doctor who is no longer about story or entertainment
@@cuppahorror the bit where they non-stop preach at the audience, rather than develop stories for entertainment. It’s become about virtue signalling utter woke crap, rather than creating a good story.
Kinda why the season ratings are the lowest since its inception. They disregard the fan base and now suffer the consequences.
I’m loving watching the brand crumble.
@@HiVisl Tell me you've never seen "The Green Death" without actually telling me you've never seen "The Green Death." 😉
Sutekh is basically Doctor Who’s Beerus, if he had the personality of Frieza and powers were cranked to over 9000
Beerus is essentially Sutekh but good-natured, destroying only because it’s his job, not because he necessarily likes it. Creation must be balanced by destruction and thus destruction is the role Beerus must play since the Kai’s handle the creation role…😅
Instead of re uploading the same clips over and over why not just show the whole scene from the next part where the doctor and suetekh actually talk? That would be more interesting right?
naomi raspace would make a nice Susan Foreman actress if the original cant return.. she was in Prometheus
Fake Doctor popping up at the end ruined it.
You take that back. You take that back right now. 😉
In all seriousness, you may not like the stories that have been written around him. (I for one have no objection to anybody who wants to complain about "Space Babies." 😉 ) But Ncuti Gatwa's portrayal of the Doctor is just as authentic and worthwhile as Tom Baker's or David Tennant's.
@@waltonsimons12 Nope. The Doctor is not a crying emasculated coward. Gatwa is a cos-player and not even a good one.
@@anthonyparkinson4517 Oh, Christ, you're one of those "manosphere" weirdos, aren't you? I'm surprised you ever got into Doctor Who to begin with. The show has never been intended to appeal to people like you.
