What's impressive about this scene is the simple combination of the dry ice, the impassive slow black figure and the slightly fussy, but fearful way "Ibrahim Amin" reacts to it all. Beautiful lingering scream to top it off.
So much better than the overblown CGI histrionics at the end of "Legend".

English people in the 1970s were perilously fragile. Shoulder massages would kill a grown man in under 20 seconds, and a light tap on the back of the neck would send them into a coma for hours.

So theoretically, the dude saying “I bring Sutekhs gift of Death” in this clip could be considered Sutekhs Harbinger in the original story here. I know it’s not Harriet, but who’s to say it isn’t the same creature that just possessed Harriet later? Because Harriet seems to be crying before her face morphs, so maybe Harriet was a real people who got possessed by this Figure from the original story.

Yeah, there were clues. Perhaps the most obvious clue was the Doctor taking Ruby to the future to show the consequences of Maestro winning in _The Devil's Chord._ Surprisingly, it's only the second time that's ever been done. The first time was in _Pyramids of Mars._ It's a memorable moment if you've seen it.

@@TheMoonRoverfor me, it was the Toymaker explaining why he's (to quote 14) "so small". NPH's answer immediately reminded me of Sutekh's "your evil is my good" monologue, and I never really shook the feeling that all of the hints were pointing to Sutekh.
Except for, of all things, "Sue Tech" funnily enough. That one felt so on-the-nose that I assumed RTD wouldn't actually make use of it.

A decent episode that had to be ruined by the “cultural appropriation” comment. The characters in Pyramid of Mars were literally Egyptian set in 1911 England. Another two characters were architects. The mummies were damn robots. Sutekh is an Osiran. The pyramids were set in Egypt. The owner of the house was away in Egypt.
Maybe RTD should never order and eat Chinese or Thai food because that’s cultural appropriation.
This is precisely why they better never reboot or resurrect Stargate because I’m sure that would be cultural appropriation as well. Give me an f’ing break!
