There seems to be implications that the Maestro was in league with Sutekh given their connections so it could be the death of the universe the Maestro talked about wasn't just their own doing alone. After all, the last words the Maestro said was a warning so they didn't appear to be afraid of Sutekh the way the Toymaker was. They almost sounded like they were gloating.

Wow those first four to five seasons of Tom Baker's DW tenure will never be outdone imo. Watching this I had almost forgotten how brilliant the writers and produceers etc were. Fun fact: Paddy Russell became the first woman to direct episodes of Doctor Who. She directed The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve (1966) and three further Doctor Who serials: Invasion of the Dinosaurs (1974), Pyramids of Mars (1975), and Horror of Fang Rock (1977).[7]
She found directing Tom Baker more than challenging. In fact she is quoted as saying, "Tom Baker was easy to deal with at first, but the part went to his head completely. By the time I did Horror of Fang Rock, he was desperately difficult to work with".
We all love Tom including the outbreak of his ego over his (the longest) run as the Doctor. I was wondering if they would get Tom back for this information update for newbies. At 91 it was always going to be unlikely. Still legendary stories like this will be adored for generations to come. Liz Sladen, we miss you terribly. Ian Marter who travelled with Sarah and The Doctor as Harry Sullivan, we miss you too. Never forgotten.

It's always interesting to see how flexible Doctor Who is about the malleability of time/history. There are times where it leans hard of arbitrary "fixed points" where certain events have to happen, and then there's this clip and the one scene from this season where they go back to the present to show that everything will be gone if they don't intervene.
Also, is there some sort of beginning to end of time history book where the Doctor just "knows" what is the right course of events versus the wrong course of events. It's easy to bounce back to 1980 and say, "Everything we know is going to be gone if we don't stop this." But if the Doctor doesn't have that easy reference point, who are they to say how something is "meant" to play out?
