- Camerawoman Meg and I hunt the 2020/21 Small Game Season on a local Wildlife Management Area here in Central FL. I experiment with calling hogs and manage to call in a sounder! Hope you enjoy!

Kewl video man! I've tried calls a few times, but haven't had any luck. Glad they are working for you, i'll have to give it a try again one of these days.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Love the vid keep up the great work
Thank you! I appreciate the support!
Enjoyed this content.
Thanks
No shot but still a cool video,,thx for uploading
Nice!!
Those oversized feral rats task good, but also tear up the woods, eat turkey eggs, and populate like rabbits. Sling shots at them. Get at least 5 rounds semi auto. Those things have to be controlled. Great video.
Thanks. This video was filmed during small game season on a wma that did not allow centerfire rifles, hence the use of a muzzleloader.
I have a small game wma 5 mins from my house in SWFL. Been hunting it for 15 years and have tried electronic calls on and off with no luck. I've had better luck with just a grunt tube and doing single grunts especially if I'm moving through an area where I'll be breaking branches or ground debris. Just grunt while moving slow then stop listen let out a single grunt again and continue. I've had sows come out while I was scouting and kept a group of hogs during archery from spooking and running off when I walked up on them feeding. I just try not to be to aggressive with it if you've been around hogs while they are feeding or moving you'll know the single grunt they put out as a kinda location grunt. Now with as many hunters that have started hunting the wma I wouldn't use the electronic call just makes it to dangerous. I typically hunt the boundaries going 2-3 miles and let them walk around and push them out to the edges.
Thanks for the advice. I will have to play around with he grunt tube this small game season. I am still trying to get it all figured out.
Even setup if you’ve heard em enough you can give it that one, two, burp. Burp burp. But yea man I like it for stalking noise cover. 👍🏻👍🏻
Good Video, hope your still hunting those bad boys.
Thanks. Now that small game season is over and general seasons haven't yet started I do not have a place to chase them. But I'll get back after them in Archery season.
It is legal in Florida to use electronic callers!?
Awesome video. What caller is that? Does it come with the sounds preloaded?
Thank you! That is the FoxPro Shockwave I believe. I had to get the sounds from the FoxPro website, the hog sounds were not preloaded on the caller.
I just subbed you, thx for the vid what mngment area was this, pretty woods in my book, but I also hunt public land in Cen Fla an north Fla, looking forward to the content
Thanks!
Interesting hunt. I've heard of calls you could purchase to mimic a hog, but hadn't seen any in action. Looked like you were pretty much alone out there, which is nice. I hunted public land multiple times on the west coast for hogs this year, and if you were looking for hikers, tourists or horse riders, you would have had a freezer full...haha. Anyhow, thanks for the hunt and even better that you had your girl / wife / friend with you...that makes it fun regardless of what you do or don't get. God bless.
Thanks. I am going to keep using the caller throughout the small game season here and see if I can call a few more in. I think it could be pretty successful in the right situations. Luckily my local WMAs don't see to much traffic, typically only 2 or 3 groups.
Are ferel hogs safe to eat ?
What WMAs? Great hunt!!!
Thanks! I don’t like to name the WMAs just because if I do an abnormal amount of people will focus on them. Personally I have found hogs on every single WMA I have hunted in FL.
@@alexnicely8059 completely understand
Any suggestions for around Vero /Brevard.
Bull Creek WMA, Three Lakes WMA, and Upper Saint Johns WMA are all open for small game season and allow the harvest of hogs. I believe Saint Johns prohibits the use of centerfire rifles during small game season. All three of these have lots of hogs. This time of year water is down and there are no mast crops, so focus on the edges of swamps and wet areas. Cover ground until you start to find fresh sign. Good luck.
why didnt you have a shotgun in your hand
Because I had a muzzleloader in my hand.
@@alexnicely8059 lol
Lol if it's hogs your trying to attract then try baby deer in distress the hogs will come in fairly aggressive so be ready
I will try that this year, thank you. I might be able to get a bonus coyote as well
Shh
You called it perfectly,,,,why no shot??? Tx hunters have minutes. We have seconds in FL!!!
They were so bunched up and moving I didn't want to just wing one into them.
@@alexnicely8059 ar next time,,28shots in twenty seconds,, 😆😂😆
I was taking a leak one time and two popped out. Smh,,you gotta be ready
@@kevreilly7 Haha ya for sure during rifle season one of them would've been dropped!
I wouldn’t say you called in any pigs. It was coincidence they ran out of the woods….and ran the opposite direction.
Negative Nancy over here…..
@@alexnicely8059 Just saying as it is.
With only one to wing..shoulda just winged one..Shoot into the pack
I’m not great with a muzzleloader, I really need to take my time
@@alexnicely8059 it's really easy..
Lots of verbal, not a lot of shooting ,pretty boring.
Thanks for the feedback
Thats why they call it hunting not killing not all the time do you score
FL isn't tx
