    With Deer Season over and the end of Trapping Season quickly approaching, at the end of March, Hog Hunting is fast becoming active again across the state.
    Here is one method that I use to keep the hogs busy feeding while I wait for the perfect shot. This Hog Log - Pig Pipe will keep the hogs busy for hours on end, once they discover there is corn inside it.

    That's how I was thinking one would go together. Thanks for the confirmation.

    I added a cows bell to the end, the pigs come running in when they hear it. Dinner bell.

    Howdy from Lufkin. Thanks for the video. That is a really good idea. I am going to have to make one. We have a hog infestation here at our house as well as out in Ratcliff where we camp and hunt. I have a suggestion, your design is excellent. If you want to ensure that they do not back that plug out of the threads, you can drill a pilot hole into the side of the threaded adapter into the plug and thread a "locking" screw into it. I hate losing corn and try to find ways to avoid it. Thanks again for taking the time to make an excellent video.

      That's a pretty good idea, though I only had one time when I didn't tighten the cap that the pigs got it open; but that was my fault for not tightening it.

      Thanks for making the video. I'm going to give it a shot.. I'd recommend putting the eye bolt on the fixed cap before gluing it on the tube. That way there's no way for the threaded plug to spin. If you're concerned about the bolt coming unthreaded, a little loctite will do the trick.... or a backing nut to lock the first one.

      @@NMIMRTECH that sounds like it might work too.

    Out of curiosity, why not mount the eye bolt to the cap instead of the male ?

      First of all, Thank You for watching my video. I appreciate you! Secondly, to answer your question; I would reckon that would work just as well. You just need to make sure its secure I suppose. Thanks again for your question. Good Luck and Happy Hunting.

      @@KD_Outdoors out of curiosity, how long after you first introduced the log to hogs did it take before they started to root it around? We have had a feeder up for about 2 years and had to recently take it down due to a bear knocking it over a couple of times. We abandoned the site trying to get the bear to move on and that has seemed to have worked but ever since we introduced the log. The hogs have not seemed interested in it. It’s been out for a week now. They’re still coming around but the log is in the exact same spot that I set it in.

    • @KD_Outdoors

      @@nickel7737 The log is most useful when the hogs are already coming around. I just poured fermented corn all around the log and when they were done with that as they bumped the log out of the way to get all the easy corn they learned that there was corn in the log... Just keep on pouring corn all around the log, on the log, make it where they hit the log to get corn that may be under it. Sometimes if they move on to new locations it may take a bit for them to return... have patients. Be persistent. Put your cameras out there and see what time they do show up and you will be well underway. Check out some of my other videos where I put the fermented corn out too.....
      Hope that was helpful. Good Luck and Happy Hunting.
      As Always, I appreciate you! Thanks for watching m videos.

    DWV = drainage waste vent sch 40 wall thickness psi = pounds square inch ) there is thinner pipe just for drainage 160 psi sch 20 there is sch 80 witch is thick and heavy and grey in color. That's pretty good bait tool .

    Will this work for deer

    • @KD_Outdoors
      @KD_Outdoors  2 роки тому +2

      The deer might come and look at it but I have never seen them knock it around to get the corn out. So, having never seen them do that I will so that it does NOT work to attract deer. However, if anyone has a different experience than I do please feel free to chime in.
