    This is a talk about ruminant animals, soil and fixing dying land that everyone should see: ua-cam.com/video/vpTHi7O66pI/v-deo.html (Spoiler! We need more cows!)
    This is a podcast interview with Will Harris from White Oak Pastures. Not only is the meat he produces carbon negative, his farm has also revived a rural village that, like many other rural places, was dying due to modern, machine centric agriculture, a very condescending view on food producers and urbanisation. Even though his dialect can be a little bit hard to understand at times, this podcast is recommended for everyone that eats food: humanperformanceoutliers.libsyn.com/episode-170-will-harris-white-oak-pastures

      CO2 is plant food, every reduction in CO2 emissions, reduces the capacity of agriculture to grow enough to feed everyone, this is basic biosphere biology as regards to how it impacts agriculture & vice versa.

      This is my favorite episode, so very peaceful. It's exciting that you're starting regenerative agriculture. There's a new international certification called "organic regenerative" (because a lot of regenerative ag is not organic) that also takes into account the use of chemicals and fair trade practices. You might also like information on regenerative ag from Richard Perkins (Sweden) and Joel Salatin (USA). If you ever decide to create meditation videos, I will buy them! Your gorgeous flyover videos, music, and calm voice are so relaxing and peaceful. Cheers and gratitude to your family, you are most generous with your beautiful videos. Becoming a patron. Thank you.

    • @lauramonahan9343
      @lauramonahan9343 4 роки тому +2

      @@normandylander we are releasing "yesterday's" carbon in the form of petroleum faster than the Earth's present biosphere can handle, I don't think regenerative ag practices are going to reduce CO2 to the point it negatively affects agriculture, is this what you were implying? Maybe I misunderstood.

    • @normandylander
      @normandylander 4 роки тому +2

      @@lauramonahan9343 Show me the data that says the carbon currently being released is too much for the planet to cope with. Remember, all this carbon has been around for a long long time, & the atmosphere hasn't always been the way it is now. I think people underestimate the planet's/biosphere's capabilities.
      If carbon emissions reach zero, agriculture will die.

    I highly recommend becoming a patron. The content on this channel is the most rewarding, useful, and uplifting on UA-cam.. in my opinion. 🙂 The potential impact this way of land use has on our planet is so encouraging. I look forward to watching the links you have provided. We have a full week of 100 F degree temperatures coming up, so seeing you in your jackets and hats makes me jealous and yearn for cooler times here. Your little fellow is getting more handsome every time we see him. 💙Thank you again for another wonderful video.❤️

    It gives me hope to that young farmers and homesteaders are rejecting the big chemical companies answer to farming and returning to knowing their land and how to make it healthy and sustainable. I hope the rule of chemical farming is coming to an end.

      Chemicals are part of what's driving the Alzheimer's epidemic. They need to be held accountable. Alz = Toxic Encephalopathy.
      ApolloHealthCo dot com. 1,500 MDs thus far curing people of it and Parkinson's and MS largely through eating organic and detoxification.
      Nix the pharmaceuticals and chemicals in soap, shampoo, toothpaste, lawn fertilizer, plastics, it's EVERYWHERE.

    I am currently binge watching your vlog! Mathias mentioned the “R” word, regenerative, a few episodes ago and I was so excited! Now to learn Mathias has taken a course is great to hear! It warmed my heart to see that I am not the only one that is very excited about regenerative agriculture! I truly believe it can save our Earth and ourselves. Mathias, I truly believe that course is as important as all of the projects both you and Tova have to do. Ivar is part of our future and you will be able to educate him correctly. My love and thanks to you all! There are no words to describe my appreciation for your vlog and allowing me to share in your lives. It is truly an honor. ~Patti

    Mathias, after your classes are completed. Tova may enjoy taking a class or 2. I've always loved soil. I was raised on a farm in Missouri. We had chickens, rabbits, fruit trees, and 2 acres of different types of vegetables. We bartered for milk. My Mother did ironing for other people for extra cash. I admire both of you. I especially admire Ivar and his sweet as honey smile. The drone footage of the sun with the instrumental music was a sensory feast. Thank you for these videos. They are magnificent. 😊❤🌻

    From the very beginning of the vlog and the shot of Matthias fetching water ( water is life ...) we seamlessly are lead through the message of regenerating soil ( for the earth grows our sustanance ) beatiful storytelling with a real solid message . You see the world in a beautiful poetic yet very grounded way . The visuals are breathtaking , the skill you have the best is to make this whole process seem so easy and seamless . Having shot footage myself Im well aware of how much work goes into something like your videos ...i do really appreciate that you take the time to do these videos
    They are wonderful , and your family ( including humans and your dear old and active young dog ) are very special . Thank you for all the time yoy spend shooting footage and editing it = beautiful results .

    Very nice video, great grandmother and sweet grandson, laugh, yes this is the best medicine for both.
    Organic farming - forestry, the basis is that you have enough land, because you need winter fodder, pasture and the soil has to regenerate. So in principle, as in the past, 30% area for regeneration. In your case, without cereal cultivation a little less, but the area for regeneration is just as dependent on the amount of livestock on the pasture.
    Very important, water is probably worth having several wells, should be possible, the ground / surface water is not that deep. Water filters, you can easily build yourself. Laugh, I also like to come to your place with my wife and dog and weld the filters together.
    Go on like this, and yes the sweet little boy, slowly steals the show.
    Stay healthy and take good care of yourself.
    Best wishes from Frankfurt.

    Thanks guys for the next great episode! Forestry, agriculture, air, land and soil are very, very important. The way of thinking about it is changing all the time. Sustainability seems to be the right way but meaning sustainability is not constant. The most important thing in this is the human and his place in this. I see that autumn is in the air! Great, that's what I waiting for. Cheers mate!!!

    Brilliant film making. There must be 20 different shots just in the opening. A work of art, thank you.

    I love your sensitive storytelling... with the sounds and visuals and few words. It warms my heart and lifts my spirit. I resonate with it in so many ways! Thank you, from a farm about an hour south of Portland, Oregon, USA.

      Fun! I live on Figment Farm (see their arb&b) in Carlton in Yamhill County. Maybe you passed through here on your way to the beach? It is now the heart of the wine country. A big concern is the monoculture culture of so much farmland. This farm has 150 acres and the owners are into conservation. I live where the old farmhouse and barn are with friends and we they do a permaculture/ organic garden. I live by the part where cows come and graze. It has been fun as they come close by and watch me inside.Their milk is sent to a nearby Organic Valley Collective Creamery. Now the trucks are coming spreading their manure on the fields. It is organic but I think that what you are studying could bypass all of these trucks bringing in the cows from other farms as they do and then to do all of this trucking of the manure. I will look at your links. There must be a better way. Good luck on your studies! Blessings.

    Thank you! Soil health and biodiversity are also important for the trees and forests, so I will definitely be watching the videos as soon as I get done commenting. Watching how your family works in concert with the land, the animals and the waters encourages me as I try to do the same in my small property and when I recommend holistic agriculture to people I advise on forestry practices. Keep up the good work!
