I don't see it that way. To them I say, let them be the ''man in the Arena'' and show us what they could do. This song always reminds me of a beautiful young lady who I used to see praying at our local church almost every evening. I was only about 8 yrs old. I used to sit in the back and watch her pray. Sometimes she would cry. I felt so bad for her but was too scared to talk to o her. One day she noticed me and started to talk to me and asked me to sit with her. But I was too shy and afraid she might make fun of me cause I was cross eyed and stuttered real bad! But this song was always on the radio and always reminded me of her! One day she was not there and I never saw her again. Kinda left me sad or a long time and always wondered who she was and what her name was! 🙏🌹❤️ I still listen to this song alot and get that sad feeling for her 😢

I remember this song when I was a kid, still listen to it today. yes was a beautiful time in my life, living in germany coming back to the united states, but sad my brother william die that year and my dad was going back to vietnam
I maybe a young person. But this song makes me sad. I'm 40. And this is why I'm looking for a long term relationship by finding myself a girlfriend. It kind've sucks that millennials are not interested in long term relationship only finding friends and they want same sex. And this why we live in a sad world. Nothing will ever be the same.
So you are saying they want a buddy of the same gender to do things with. I am sure that is true of many people but there have to be people out there who are still open to find true love. Give it a shot and good luck.
radio has been rigged they way it would play total 1960s junk songs the last 40 years since the early 1980s but would almost never play this tremendous 1960s song on radio.
I believe they are from Poughkeepsie, NY or that area on the Hudson River. I played with Mercy for a couple of months around Tampa and St. Pete. but didn't last long. (Beer can make you happy, but not a great musician :) )...
