- catching up on some of the oldies I missed in the past I finally got around to doing this one. I've had requests for this a while back. The thing that most irritated me about the original was the loud tambourine. It was so far out in the front and the percussion was buried. Since I can't turn the volume down on the Tambourine I had to bring up (replay) the drums and layer some guitars to match the volume of the vocals. I also worked on the vocals a little at certain parts. Hope you like it!
Also I put a donate (paypal) link on my channel which should be set up correctly. I haven't made a dime the last 4 months either. I'm doing this for basically nothing. Hundreds of my videos are monetized by the record companies but they take all the cash. If every subscriber sent me a dollar I could buy decent electric and acoustic guitars to make my job easier in producing these recordings. I could really rev up this channel into a music explosion the world has never seen .I might even do one or more songs every day but as of now I have no incentive at all to keep making them.

Drafted on my 21st birthday 1969. Went to Viet Nam and this song was on the charts. Came back a year later with Sgt. stripes and a Bronze Star. 53 years later, both me and this song are still here. When I a little "Up Tight", this song returns me to normal.
This is the song my wife chose for our wedding. That was in 1970. Still going strong : )

Well, there wasn't much higher than it could go on the charts than hitting #2 on the Billboard charts. I wouldn't call that underrated. Besides, the only thing that kept it from going to #1 was some band called The Beatles and their song "Get Back". I'd call that pretty impressive.
1969 was the best year ever in music. So many groundbreaking sounds like this song, "Oh Happy Day" , "Wedding Bell Blues", "These Eyes", Youngblood's "Get Together" and many others which did not sound like anything else before. Great, great memories plus I did not have to pay mortgage!!! 🤣🤣

I was 13 when this song came out and played on WOKY radio ! Always called the DJ Bob Barry WOKY asked him to play this song as Ive always thought it was a pretty song ! I think I had the 45 RPM record at the time it came out too !
Yup. Me. ...too! I had Bob here in Milwaukee, as a regular choice, or Charlie Hanson with Shakey, in the morning. (On WISN) BOB still very visible, as he puts podcasts out on unearthed interviews with many during his broadcasting career. He's the best. And this song, was right there, with a summer place,herb Alpert, Percy sledge, and all the beautiful music, to enjoy. Yes...this is a beautiful song

True story: back in the day most stations played 45’s on turntables. Because the tempo of this one is so slow, it was very important that the record hole was exactly in the center of the disc. Not a lot of money was spent on pressings, so quite a few stations played this song with noticeable wow in the audio. Please raise your hand if you know what a QRK is. 😉
Okay- I'll give it my guess:
I do know that there is a list of "Q" signals used as short three-letter indication of a signal problem.
e.g. "QRP" meaning "Low Power"; "QRN" for noise.
So my guess would be a "QRK" would mean "your audio is erratically changing the tape/turntable speed", or, "is my tape/turntable speed inconsistent".
i.e, you have wow and flutter.
@@1L6E6VHF nice guess, but way too technical for my pay grade. A QRK was the brand of turntables used by most radio stations back in the day. Rock solid; started quickly, and heavy as a piece of concrete. No wow or flutter from this machine… unless the record hole was slightly off center. The 45 rpm version of “Love Can Make You Happy” was notorious for being pressed off center.
