Do you have a peperomia caperata? The leaves are so deeply textured I'm not sure how to tell when to water. I have it in a small terracotta pot with very well draining soil. I've been going by weight and it seems happy enough. It's growing new leaves and blooming. I've been judging by how much the pot weighs.
i totally neglected my pepperomia when i got distracted with newer needker plants and i 100% over watered it and it got the CRAZIEST ROOT ROT, like i pulled tbe plant off the top of the soil 😅 shes trimmed and recouping in water, im not too bothered sadly it was not my favorite, although very very cute
thanks for this...i saw that it drooped one day and i checked the soil and it was too wet. After that it never came back to be stiff even tho the soil has become drier...wondering if i can still save it...
@@leafydiva thank you for your reply! Am not too sure as it is in the soil that the nursery used. I didn't repot it when I brought it home. But I see some bark in the soil. I could repot it, I have a potting mix consisting of soil, bark n perlite. Would that work?
Greenhouse soil is usually very moisture retentive. It has to be because they’re usually grown outdoors in large greenhouses in warm climates. I usually don’t replace it though. I just keep that in mind when i’m watering. If the soil was wet for too long the roots may have rotted before the soil dried out. It could be why your leaves arent stiff anymore. That’s just speculation though. Take the plant out of the pot and look at the roots to make sure.
@@leafydiva someone told me the same thing about nursery soil lol! i think u are right because i didn't really water too much but over time, it got soggy and i regret only realising it when the leaves drooped. Also, the nursery planted their watermelon peperomia in tall 6.5inch pots which i did ask the owner if it was intentional as most of her other plants are in the usual standard height pots. i believe the water dried out on top when i stick my fingers in to test the moisture, then i'd water and not realize it's still wet and soggy at the bottom (due to the tall pot) Thanks for your advice, i will check the roots and it's good, will repot. happy weekend!
I'm so glad you showed up on my fyp! I got one of these and a silver one, and I was concerned about when to water...so now I know I have some more time...thank you!
Omg that plant is so cute 🥰
This is so helpful thank you! My little Waltermelon is not doing so well, I think I was overwatering
Glad it was helpful!
You just saved my plant❤
Your plants 🌱 are beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
What type of soil?

I don't, but it’s interesting you brought it up because I was looking to buy a Peperomia Caperata Pink Lady! I love the variegation on it.
What if some leaves r soft and some hard?

Maybe try repotting it. What kind of soil is it in?

How watering?😢
I wish I knew this when I had one, I use the 'taco test' for my string of turtles
If I bend like this the leaves of my peperomia break! Why?😢
Everyone says this. But mine bends easily all the time, including after watering!!
I’m def here and waiting for part 2 👀 I love mine but she looks sad and droopy, starting to think it’s the soil at this point

TACO TEST!!!
Peperomias for me are so quick to be plagued by thrips.
😬
Ffs where were you 2 years ago? 😂
