ua-cam.com/video/gCM0z7-u4u4/v-deo.htmlsi=sFKsSriPMHdeVG6k I made a video about pet-friendly plants since so many people were asking! Thank you guys for taking the time to watch my videos!!!
If you have a few plants that need distilled water save yourself the hassle and go to a pet store or Amazon or Walmart and order yourself a bottle of "Stresscoat" it's used on aquariums but it condish. your water and it saves you from endlessly buying distilled water by the gallon. Just buy a bottle and you add a small amount to a gallon pitcher at home and it lasts you for months and its also great from keeping your Spider plant from getting brown tips.
You can also use the zero water filter system. It's what I use for my carnivorous plants. Of course, you have to stay on top of measuring the water, so you know when to change the filter. After a while, you know how many weeks or months until it has to change.
@@HouseplantHelplove the passion and trying to get people into house plants. I’m a huge fan of your video where you’re shirtless. 😅 Not trying to be an ass or troll. I truly wish you and your channel the absolute best. I just know the internet and humans and humans that use the internet. Most will glance and assume.
Watching your channel is like sitting out on the porch with someone very knowledgeable enjoying a great real person chat without all the typical hype of most You-tubers. Also love that each segment shows the plant's name in writing unlike, again, many YT's yapping away and you're left with no idea of what the name of the plant, ingredient, etc is, much less how to spell it to be able to look it up later online. I simply love the format you've put together and enjoy your channel so much. I look forward to more of your videos 🌞 All the best to you!
I have a potted staghorn fern on my coffee table about 6 feet from a north facing window and a couple side lamps. It is doing really well with minimal care, needing water only about once a week..
Thank you for this information! I recently redecorated my living room which has very low light and this video is the perfect shopping guide for me. I love the look of the peacock fern as the bluish shades will compliment the aquas in the room. 😊
For the doubters…it’s amazing what you can bring indoors if you just put some effort in. I overwintered the following in my south facing bedroom, dining room and living room: three banana plants (one was six feet tall), four monstera, two very large bird of paradise, two dracena, three arabica bushes, three hibiscus, two Christmas palms, one Cara Cara orange, one lime, and one plumeria. This year, I bought two cheap, grow lights on Amazon and some neem oil. Everybody survived and are back outside for the summer. I started four years ago with just one or two mid size plants, which grew and yielded cuttings and pups, then I added more each summer.
Totally. It’s not as easy as just putting them inside anywhere and watering the same as you would outside. You gotta put in some effort and actually think about what you’re doing. I think a lot of people aren’t really putting much thought into it lol. I have a ton of stuff outside that I bring in for the Winter as well - I’ve got a cara cara too! My favorite orange!!
You are wonderful! Calm, chill and smart as heck! And I LOVE your transitions from plant to plant. Great list too. Really appreciate your work here. 👍👍👍
Great video! A suggestion would be to leave the plant in the frames while you're talking about it off camera so that we get a full perspective of the plant. I needed to back track to see the plants again about which you were speaking. There's more of you in this video than the plants themselves.😊 Have a great day!
I agree, he did a good job making the video. And I agree with you on leaving the picture of the plant but I like to see the person talking. I think a better suggestion is to split the screen. He's on one side and the picture on the other.
I just discovered your channel and subscribed! Thank you for the list. It was a good one for sure. I've been an outdoor, and indoor gardener for close to 30 years. I still like to grab new information and learn the most modern ways to keep plants thriving. My family recently moved to Kentucky from San Francisco, CA. I had a potted tree fern that I kept outside on our porch. They are indeed beautiful and unique. And actually very, very easy to grow. They are not fussy about much. However, those little "hairs" you see on the fronds? They are irritating to the skin if you brush against the plant. The "hairs" dry up as the fronds mature and drop on whomever brushes against them and they are itchy!! I just wanted to let you and your viewers know that it's probably best to put it in a spot indoors where no one will brush against it.
I really like your videos. Can you show the plants for a much longer time while you’re describing them. It’s more interesting to see the plant you’re discussing. 😊❤
Appreciate the details, watering requirements, and very smooth transitions to the next plant! One suggestion if you don't mind - more commentary on the "low light" for each plant - you did mention for one plant the jungle canopy, but I imagine that there's variation in the low light requirements...
I thought he did pretty good going to the next plant, real smooth. Except for one, that one scared the daylights outa me 😂. My guess is that he had to stop for some reason.
Few plants will survive (definitely not thrive) in a dark room like a windowless bathroom for example…maybe a Golden Pothos, but if you give it some light, like a grow bulb in your bathroom light fixture, you can definitely keep low light plants happy

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love plants but my house does not get a lot of direct sunlight and can actually seem rather dark inside. So, your video will enable me to obtain more plants for my home. I do have a couple of varieties of pothos already and they are a very forgiving plant. I also have the snake plant. But I'm looking forward to searching out some of the others you named. 🙂
With Aglaonema or Chinese Evergreens use the Jade or Marie cultivar for very low light areas the darker green foliage plants are much less demanding for light.
If your plant needs filtered water, you can buy a filter for your sink (I have a brita filter that connects right to my sink and has a switch for filtered and unfiltered water). It’s a lifesaver!
I have also used tap water conditioner traditionally for aquariums in my watering cans. You barely need any, so the bottle lasts forever! Stops leaf burn on my peace lily, and everyone else is happy too 💚
Nice delivery of content, I would like to see more images of or interaction with the plants, but you definitely gave me some excellent leads to search for.

This was awesome. Thank you so much for all the information in this video! As you were talking, I was making changes to where all my plants were 😂 I'm intrigued with a few you discussed and will probably be looking into them 😊
I like the Maranta Leuconeura (prayer plant) too. Since its a relative of the rattlesnake plant, it performs really well with low light. The erythroneura variety (herringbone plant) has amazing neon pink veins on the top side of the leaf and a deep red underside.
Very fine indoor plants! And informative comments! There is one problem with some of these plants: they collect dust often! Also some indoor plants may be toxic to children, pets or allergic to adults. So select them after checking. They are really beautiful, decorative and certainly add a bit of the exotic jungle to our indoors!
Thank you so very much! It was delightful to be reminded of so many of these plants I have had over the years. Now that I have time to care for them and am ready to have plants in every room, I appreciate knowing what to get for low light areas! Your video is so well done with the perfect visuals to accompany the thorough information. It’s easy to see from your environment that you have made your home a green paradise. Thanks, again for sharing your love of plants! 🥰🐅
Hello, new sub. I enjoyed your educational video here. Recently I've been wanting to get some low light plants, I live in an RV in Phx, Az. All my windows (except the two in my kitchen) are covered with reflecter covers, in efforts of keeping as cool as possible. I've got some ideas from you here, and I love all the choices 💯🤯 I just didnt know I had options. Thank you 😎
Thank you. I had given up on the idea of house plants due to lack of natural light. All my windows face north except my bedroom window which faces west and gets plenty of light in the afternoon. But I'd like to have plants in the living room and dining room. So happy to know there is such a variety of low light plants and you explained it all so well.
I just discovered you… Subscribed and shared your video right away. Great info. I concur with many others.. More showing of the plant/name so the info can register. But truly appreciate your time and expertise🙏🏽✨🙏🏽🫶🏽
I had a Song of India and it was beautiful!! About 4ft tall and it was amazing, very exotic looking. Unfortunately I over watered it (used same schedule as all my house plants) and then the it got too cold! Yup, it died. I was really angry about that. But I learned. And now here you are to help me try with another one!! Thank you for ALL this great information!!!
Wow! Thank you for your effort in putting together, not only this long list of low light plants, but for adding all the necessary details in order for us to make a very quick yes/no list to match our home environment, local climate, and travel habits. This is just what I needed and you explained it all in a low-key, friendly manner. Liked and subscribed. Love the end! I recommend a red or pink Dutch Anthurium. LOL 💗❤
The split Leaf Philodendron is somewhat similar to your unique finger like leaf plant. Loved your video. I have an incredible montage of house plants as well as an enormous outdoor collection. Plants are a huge passion of mine too 🥰

Thank you very much for this great informative video.
Great video! You really know your plants and you've given lots of novel low light plants that I've not heard on other lists! Def sub ❤️
Thanks so much 🫶

I've got some ideas from you here, and I love all the choices 💯🤯
I just didnt know I had options. Thank you 😎
Thank you for watching🫡
You have the best videos on plants and how to care for them in the internet. Thnks for the videos.
Thoroughly enjoyed the video with a plethora of information. Living in West Africa so all these plants are in my garden ❤

I love this. It's so helpful.
Thank you. I had given up on the idea of house plants due to lack of natural light. All my windows face north except my bedroom window which faces west and gets plenty of light in the afternoon. But I'd like to have plants in the living room and dining room. So happy to know there is such a variety of low light plants and you explained it all so well.
Don’t give up!!!!
Many thanks, the more we know the more you grow. How about a lessons about evergreen trees for outside low maintenance. May you have awesome days

That was a fantastic informative video thanks. I will be off to the plant shop tomorrow
