AHHHHHHHHHH!!! I was looking for videos about peperomia since I just got one... And I watch your videos a lot! Seeing this old one is so fun to see how much you've came out of your shell and how different you are in production and how we get to see your full personality now! Great job over the years! Love Sheffield Plants! ❤
Love your collection....your hope looks like a teardrop peperomia var....but I could be wrong...hope has more circular leaves....love your last one...love peperomias so much....yours all look so healthy! Great video
I love Peperomias so much. I have so many and love them all, but I think my favorites would be the small leaf trailing ones like String of Turtles, Japonica, and the ones like that. I just got a new load of wish list Peps and I am SO in love with those! The Peperomia you said was the Peperomia Hope (Peperomia deppeana x quadrifolia 'Hope') is actually a Peperomia Pixie Lime (Peperomia orba 'Pixie Lime')
String of turtles is the one I can not grow. It’s either too wet too dry to light too dark I gave up. Although I can grow string of pearls easily I know some people find them hard to grow I have succeeded. The turtles on the other hand complete failure. 😢
I've had SO much trouble with peperomias!~ and they are one of my favourite plants. I kill every one, despite having good luck with most other plants. They get VERY dry at the roots, but then start to wilt, so I water them sparingly, and they immediately rot. I can't seem to get the balance right. I have just ordered a peperomia caperata rooted cutting. I am hoping that starting with one that is so young, I can acclimatise it to my home. I refuse to give up.
Ah, interesting relationship with my one peperomia "napoli nights". Say they like dry roots but not as dry as succulents, okay. So I water the succulents once every 2 - 4 weeks. Start by watering the peperomia once every 7 to 10 days, after a couple months leaves seem soft and little to no growth, I start watering 2 to 3 times a week. Starts to grow and filll out much better over the next 6 months. Then out of nowhere, the large bush of peperomia in the pot all starts to die off. Root rot, but why all of a sudden? Take the entire plant apart and manage to "save" 4 individual smaller sub-plants from the pot. Repot it, start watering again but ever so slightly less. Twice a week, and am careful to make sure the water all drains through quickly. I'm about to sell the plant because it seems too finicky even though I got it back to good health, also my haworthia collection is getting huge and I need to make some space. From my general experience with this plant they like a considerable amount of water, definitely not dry roots but they want it to run right through. They can't take water everyday like peace lilly, but they'll slowly die if watered roughly as much as a real succulent. In regards to the succulents I have much better luck with them, but I've killed 1 haworthia, 1 echeveria, and 2 senecios. Never managed to kill any crassula, pachyphytum, aloes, or sedums. And the damn ghost plant and graptoveria just refuse to "stop" growing and spreading all over.
Hope you get what you wish for but I bought the watermelon Peperomia & Sting of turtles and I just couldn’t make them happy, so they were binned. Good luck to you. I’ll be interested to know how you get on with them.
Some of my favorites. I love the peperomias. I have about ten of them at the moment. Pretty easy to care for, but with this heat in Texas, US, I had to bring them in.
Hi. I got a peperomia obtusifolia variegata, all the leaves fall off in about 2 weeks (also no stem left). It might of been over watered??. Will it grow back? or is it a goner? 😢 thanks!
The watermelon peperomia was the first peperomia that I ever saw and it's been on my wish list. Like you, I haven't been able to find one in any store.
Did you manage to get a Peperomia Watermelon? Just letting you know that I bought one yesterday at B&Q (S6) yesterday. Since finding your channel, my OCD plants has begun to increase again!
I just started growing plants and got a ruby glow peperomia( peperomia graveolens). I hope I can keep it alive for many years without any problems, it is a very beautiful looking plant, I would definitely recommend it.
Only one pepperomia I've ever been able to not kill, a pilea. Sooo hard to balance and grow strong roots from babies, but love the look! Inspired by your video, so may try again with maturer ones.
Just a fun piece of plant knowledge, pilea is from the family peperomoides, and is technically not a peperomia. But I still included one in my own pep collection ;)
2:20 i was gifted one of those, one of the flowers or thorny flower stems had broken off when i transported it home, i knew it was a flower but a while after i picked it up my brain told me it could be some sort of thorny worm so i suddenly panicked and throw it, but after closer inspection it was indeed just a flower.
I have a mini version of the second peperomia called Peperomia Moonlight. The difference between the two is that mine is pale green and it loves a cutback
I envy you. I have not luck with peperomias. I had some babies, and some larger like Santorini and schumi red and I experienced every time I watered them stem rotting at the bottom of the stems. I have not windows only balcony doors, and no grow lights. So the plants are on the furnitures some close, some less close to the balcony. I guess low light was the reason because I watered them by testing with the water meter before. I end up having two struggling (Lillian and Polybodria) and I bottom water them now in case I have more luck.
Sorry to hear that. I guess I’ve been lucky enough to not have problems with mine. Must be combination of not enough light and maybe overwatering. Meter should help!
Hello, I got the "not as nice" green version of the obtusifolia and was just checking out when I should water it. Rich, did you ever get the watermelon peperomia? Peace.
8:08 i have a similar red one, peperomia graveolens, it's tiny but looks interesting. oh you mentioned it at 10:42, i found one in a small package of 3 succulent cuttings. the watermelon looks really fun
Just got a first peperomia, a watermelon, though mine is more red in the "gullies" on the leaves, not green. Ruby glow🤩looks wonderful! I hope one follows you home soon!💕
what do you think may have happened. Mine with the red edges, was so nice, and had it medium light indoor, water it when it was dry in summer but suddenly the leaves dropped and and the trunk was soft and wrinkly and died
I swear you can read minds! I received a Pepperomia Raindrop recently with no info on it so I wasn’t sure what it was. I think I’d like the watermelon next. 💖🇺🇸😁
Are you feeding them? What if so? My succulents have done OK this winter, but have had a lot of deaths due to the cold house. Probably what I've saved in heating costs has gone in plant death!😢
Wonderful array of peperomias. Another peperomia cultivar that is uncommon is called peperomia ‘ice queen’. The only peperomia ‘ice queen’ UA-cam video I found was in Russian. I’d love to see an in depth video on peperomia ‘ice queen’. Also do you think peperomia ‘ice queen’ is the same as a ‘giant’ watermelon peperomia? Based on UA-cam videos titles, it appears that they could be similar with slight differences. Perhaps you can get some of your dream plants online that provides thorough reviews
Might be part of the ageing process. The oldest lowest leaf on the stem sometimes falls off to make way for new growth. Or the plant might be rootbound etc
Elizabeth what is your watering routine like for it? Overwatering is a huge cause of leaf dropping in peperomias, they have such small and delicate root systems.
@@karicooke6326 I use a water meter probe so only water when dry but will water less in future thankyou for the info, it's not potbound either as I haven't had it a long time but I have checked even so.
I love my peperomia. I had a collection of different plants back in Chernihiv, but when ruzzians decided to bomb our city we had evacuate quickly so we left our plants along with many other things. When found a place in the western Ukraine, I decided to start with my plants again and Peperomia was the first in my collection.
I’ve killed mine.. and def still mad an sad for killing it... It was pretty common too... those with pinkish edges... I’ve managed to keep a stem of one that’s almost black (I know it as black knight) I’m too scare to even look at it, like I’m scared it’ll just drop dead before my eyes (like my pinkish one) 😭
peperomia hope I believe it’s called. It’s in a tiny 2inch pot from dobbies 😀 I’ve been to ferndale garden centre due to your video visiting there. They have some lovely plants in!

Ah yeah I think you’re right. I lost the name and couldn’t find a good match online, so thanks for the heads up. Definitely a variegated teardrop.
Love how easy it is to propagate Peperomia plants. Creating a green family!
Surprisingly easy

Have you considered a moisture meter to be sure about watering?
They need a porous soil to help stop water soaking the roots for too long.Try cactus mix soil..
Definitely would recommend the Verticillata/Red Twist. Great plant. We love our Obtusifolia as well.
Thanks for the rec 👍
I like the pepperomia hope and I’ll be looking out for that. Thanks for the tips
