Today’s video is about how to take care of watermelon peperomias and how to propagate them too. I honestly find these plants so easy and are great beginner houseplants to add to your plant collection. If you have any questions then feel free to leave me a comment 😃

I love my watermelon pepperomia. So exciting to see that I can make new babies. ❤️ this video was so helpful! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Wow thank you. I have one that i just totally desecrated. I'm trying so hard to bring it back to life. Fingers crossed your method works! Thank you!
I'm very new to the plant hobby, and I fell in love with the watermelon peperomia! They are sooo gorgeous! First plant I bought (in many years) ! I love it, but it's still a baby. I hope I'll be able to propagate it, I'm developing my green thumb (which has been black for a long time lol). Thank you for this informative video.
Aw thank you for watching! Good luck with your watermelon pep 💕
Pepe is also my fav but till now i dont have it🤔💚😳🏠

Wow nicely plant☘️🌿Tamsak new friend here💚
That's so cool that you made that plant from one leaf! So fun to propagate peperomia! 😍
Thanks girl! Propagation sprees are such a good time killer 😂
Thanks so much for sharing. I'm from Ohio I'm an ONLA certified master grower but I had no idea what to do to propagate this thing. This video helped tremendously I'll let you know how it works for me. Thanks for sharing ❤ and happy growing 🐝 🦋 🌻 🌿
the ornamental flowers are very beautiful ... I like your videos that share knowledge ...👍
I've been watching tons of videos on how to do the leaf propagation, but yours was the only one who totally explained how to keep them moist and watered while they root, in detail, which is the most important part of the instructions, so thank you!
Aww thank you so much!
I love how your video popped up as a recommendation! I just recently got a watermelon peperomia and my bestfriend wanted to buy me it but i didnt allow her to. When i went next day i found a bigger one hidden and got that one for myself! As i was cleaning her up i found a leaf fell and it had a bit of the stem dried up but most of it that led up to the leaf wasnt. I love the look of the leaves so i kept it. I am so excited that I can now use that leaf to create some new plants and gift one to my bestfriend 🙆🏼♀️ im a whole new plant mama at this but im honestly so excited to do this! 🌿 thank you. A new sub forsure! I also love your Monstera deliciosa! Thats the one plant that became my goal plant to have!
That is awesome! You’re gonna have so many watermelon peps in no time 💕
Thank you for your enthusiasm, it hurt a lot I bought today yma seedling I planted it in a pot feon 🇧🇷
Saludos amiga ya con Tigo gracias por compartir bendiciones
You made this video right on time. I received a teardrop perperomia cutting and put it in water. I’ll try this method instead. Thanks. 😊
Oooh good luck! 💕
Wow your peperomia looks so healthy . I’ll try to propagate mine. Thanks for sharing and happy subscribing on your channel 😀
Thank you for the support 💕
I've successfully propogated my watermelon peperomia using your method. Thank you! I cut one leaf in half. The half with the periole has grown two big leaves and is working on its third. The half without the petiole has just begun pushing out its first leaf. I started them in the same pot in mid May, so about 3 months ago. I agree, the petiole half definitely propagates much quicker! The leaves are gorgeous and healthy, but they curl downward, making them appear bent. I can't seem to find the fix for this. I don't overwater or underwater, and they've had plenty of light and humidity. It's quite frustrating after successfully propogating to have these big beautiful leaves curl on me and not look as they should. Have you any experience with this?
Thank you for sharing your propagating technique. I’m excited to try this on my watermelon peperomia. 😊
Good luck 💕
Thanks for sharing your experience for a much faster way.. I had the same trouble after almost 2 mos so i decided to just chop it off in half.. Let's see after a month if does do well in my care.. Hehe..
Btw, i love the pot also..
Yay! Good luck on the propagations 🙏🏼
i feel like cutting all my peperomia leaves and propagate . thanks for this video!
Good luck!! 🤞🏽🤞🏽
Plantei uma folhinha hoje usando esse método, vou aguardar as novas modinhas 😊👍
Thanks Ange, Leif got knocked off my watermelon pepperoni you today and I’ve just propagated it following your method hopefully by autumn it will have started new plants. Glad I found this video. Have a very Merry Christmas and stay safe.
Yay! I hope it’s a successful propagation lovely
Ok how is yours so dark green? I have never seen one with so well defined patterns.
I want one like hers
Ooh I’m not too sure! Maybe it’s the bright indirect light 😃
I've heard with some plants if you keep them in direct light too much they start to lose their color and pattern!
Why are mine rotting when I do thih
I'm excited to try this tonight. What a fun way to propagate. Thanks!
Do you have an update??😊
@@CaliforniaGirl49 so far so good. I used a microrhizal rooting compound and I think that helped. They're just now starting to push up new growth, I think about 95% of them are going to survive. I put half skewers in the dirt on end to keep the Saran wrap from touching the leaves and I use a grow light as well as a well lit window since it's winter and not a great time to propagate
Would love a more complete vid actually showing where the plants are located to grow so strong n big. Also, more info on the type of soil, and then showing how you repot the newly grown pups.
I just got my Watermelon Peperomia in mail today and it had dropped almost all of it's leaves (rough mailing :( ). This video came in a great time, i'll try make use of those fallen leaves now 😃
Ooh I would love to know how it goes with leaves that have fallen off!
.
Ohhh my that's sooooo gorgeous watermelon peperomias
I'm in love with them!
Hi! Thank You! Im very satisfied by ur explanation ❤️ happy planting 🍃🌱
Thank you!
Thank you so much for the fast but thorough explanation.
Thank you Dianne!
Olá flor essa peperomia é mesmo maravilhosa e vc também é linda eu também tenho dessa, parabéns amei visitar seu canal beijinhos no coração até o próximo vídeo sucesso Deus abençoe vc muito tmsjuntas💞
Thanks for sharing. I’m going to give it a try with my watermelon peperomia.
Good luck!!
i borrowed a peperomia from a family friend who had it in an east facing windowstill, the leaves are crispy, ripped and burned, ive tried to salvage what i can so i can hopefully get a plant, its my first time propagating peperomia, i really hope it works, thank you for this
thank you for this! my watermelon is dying because the nursery overwatered it and its rotting so i’m propagating the leaves. i want to have a lush one because they are so pretty.
Good luck! Hopefully the nursery didn’t completely kill it 😢
Thanks for the info. You said it took the watermelon about 3 months to produce leaves. How long on the raindrop, was it about the same?
I think it was a bit quicker actually!

Thank u for your informative video. I was wondering how can I propagate my watermelon peperomia. I bought it 2 months ago. Only search how to take care of it but now I know how to propagate it. Thank u.
Wow your propogation is beautiful! I have a burning question I can't seem to find answer to online. Do you have the issue of leaf curl when the leaves are growing? My propogation has produced so many leaves and the more mature ones have straightened out, but I wonder why during the middle phases of growth these leaves curl inward for me. They live inside of a dome, plenty of humidity and I don't over water.
I’ve never experienced that to be honest! I would’ve said humidity but since it lives in a dome then it should be fine! Is it getting bright indirect light?
@@plantyange It is :) It lives on an Eastern window. The mother plant lives near a Western window and her leaves curl as well as grow deformed sometimes; ie, rigid edges, as if something is nibbling on them, but no pests. I love these plants, just wish I could figure out how to keep them looking amazing.
Hey there!! I recently found your channel and it's very informative! So, thank you so much.
I did want to ask, is this a way to propagate different plants. Could I do this with a pothos? Thanks again!
I only have tried leca and water propagation! Not sure if I even did it right lol but I should try the soil propagation!
I found water sooo slow and I got tired of waiting 🙈 I’ve never tried it in leca! Did it work out?
plantyange I’m currently in the process of doing it!
Yess water takes forever !
I'm definitely going to try this tomorrow with my watermelon one. You've got me looking for the rain drop now 🤦🏾♀️😂
Hehe you definitely need one!
All the peperomia i have and the watermelon one is not one of them. I’m dying for one they’re so freaking cute!! And yours is just gorgeous
Thank you so much! They are super adorable 😍
I love your videos!!!! I am about to binge watch. I just purchased a peperomia because of you, so thanks for helping my current obsession 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I ordered a Silver Riple
Thank you so much lovely! Good choice on the silver ripple - they are stunning 😍
Ok. Did you repot your propagation? I see 2 different colors of pots from beginning to the end of the propagation?
This video was so well done !!! Thank you
Thank you!!!
I can’t wait to try this method to have lots of baby peperomia
That’s awesome 👍I propagate mine with the water and it take ages to root,I will try this method and hopefully will have quicker success 😊Thnks god bless 👍
Definitely give it a go! It’s so easy 😃
I must try this , i have just thrown a pilea leaf away 😢 didnt know you could do this 🙏 Love your video’s x
Nooo! But next time you can give it a go 🙏🏼
Fun! I have been wondering how to propagate one of my Peperomias. I can't wait to do this technique this weekend :D
Yay! Good luck 💕
@@plantyange thank you!!
Thank you so much for this!! I've been hoping to propagate mine, and this was super helpful :)
Yayyyyy!
Thank you Ange this video was super helpful! Does this type of propagation work for the ripple peperomias too?
Thanks for watching Jordan! Tbh ripple peperomia I have done this on all rotted for me. With ripples I like to propagate them in water or put them in soil with the whole stem and only the stem in the soil 😃
@@plantyange thank you i will give that ago i have a pink lady who i want to propagate
Jordan oooh jealous! Those are gorgeous. I’ve never seen one in person before 😍
@@plantyange I got it from one pots shop they ship so well and it was alot bigger than expected has 2 inch leaves. The shipped it perfectly only one broken stem from a bushy full plant onepotsshop.com.au/product/peperomia-pink-lady-130mm/
@@plantyange has more pink then the picture on the plant I received :)
Hi Gorgeous
thank you so much its so imformative...
You’re welcome lovely!
Hey! I was given a watermelon pep cutting in water that has rooted in just water, I’m wondering when to put it in soil? Should I wait til it has a wee baby leaf growing or just go for it?
I would probably wait until there are little babies before putting it in soil. Also be quite careful when transplanting as I find the roots are quite delicate!
Can peperomia plants live in a vase of water like other plants can? I have an aphid infestation and I'm moving as many plants over to water as I can to save them. My other option is to just repot. But water stops then from reproducing
Awesome. If only I had found this video before I threw my cuttings away. My stems rotted and I threw the leafs away.
Nooooo! That’s so disappointing :(
Can i remove the leftover leaves when my propagated peperomia is matured? I don't want it to look messy
Hi... love your video. How long I should keep it under wrap?
I normally wrap mine until it pushes out it’s first leaves. Then I find it’s pretty much fine to be treated as a normal plant!
Great just what I need to know, But I bought 2 though the post 1was good but one has 4 leaves thar curl up ,the information was to completely water the plant when it came and leave to soak for 10 minutes, it had already lost 4 leaves with being damp with posting so I feel it’s now been overwatered, Could this be why the leaves curled when I got it , I am now going to let it dry out
It’s hard because they can get soft and droopy when both over or under watered. But if the soil is soaking wet then I would agree to let it dry out for a bit! Good luck 💕
Thank you for this video! Also: love your shirt 💪🏻
Thank you! Buffy is the best 😍
Thank you so much for the video. You explained it perfectly
Wow! Never knew this was possible! Thank you so much🔥
You’re welcome Sabine! 😃
Really great advice! Thanks 😊
Thank you so much! 💕
Waow beautiful plant..😍
Thank you!!
Great video!! Will definitely try :)
Good luck!
Hi Ange, propagated my beautiful Watermelon Peperomia in water. Now all the roots AND LEAVES are under water growing. How do I plant this? Do I cover the roots AND LEAVES in soil, or wait til roots long enuf to plant without involving the new leaves, or 🤔 WHAT🤔???
Gonna try it.
BTW, my original pep is going nuts with tons of "flower" spikes coming out of it. It's truly wild looking!
Thank you for the Video
I was impressed! Thank you for showing us how to do this. I may now just have to give this a try. 👌🏻
Thank you Sue 😃
The bottom part of the leaf can produce baby to even though you put it upside down in the soil?
Yes it can! 😏
Wow 👏
I am not able to find these anywhere in my area.
Aww good luck finding one soon!!
Good tips. Cheers. Ive killed so many of these by overwatering and they just turn to mush in a day
Hopefully your next one thrives!!
Your video was perfect timing!! I just bought a huge watermelon peperomia & a few of the leaves already fell off on the way home!! Thank you!!
Also, what does your shirt say? because I think I need it lol
Thanks for sharing!😊😍
💕💕
mine lost two leaves while moving so i'll try this
Good luck!!
Awesome!
I’m ur 1,000th follower!!! 🥳😅
Yw lol
Thank you so much for the support!! 💕
Thank you much that was really informatif. I love it cos i love peperomia. ❤
Yay! Thanks so much for watching
Can i just cut a leaf with stem from the mother plant and place it in a pot with soil, im really sorry for asking this im new to plants and currently owns a watermelon peperomia because it's leaves are beautiful
Very pretty girls channel !
Like your movie !
Would this work with older leaves who’s pattern May not be as defined as the younger leaves?
Do you think it matters how much space is in between each leaf-half? I wanted to save space and have like 6 halves of different sizes in one 4in pot
I would say it should be fine as long as they are all getting adequate light! Good luck 💕
Can watermelon Peperomia be also propagated in just moist perlite, instead of soil? Thanks!
After putting the leaves on the soil, does it need to sprinkle even a little water before covering it with plastic?
Yes definitely moisten the soil before covering it 😃
Wow nice
👍👍👍
Thankyou for a great video with no waffle! Much appreciated.
👍
Não entendo nada que vc fala! Mais tenho desta plantinha ! Muito linda .
Здравствуйте, я очень счастлива, что имею такой изумительный цветок!
Hi there, I just bought a peperomia.
I do notice that your other indoor plants are placed in a normal room without a window or light. I find It difficult to have my indoor plants ie. Monsterias in sunlight and Windows as my lounge room is all walls, can you help in suggesting the about of light and the position ? Ty
From where did u pik ur plant stand?
Beautiful 💚😳🏠🙂
This vid is so helpful! Thank you 💚
You’re so welcome!!
Thank you so much for sharing...👍👍🙏
💕💕
thanks
Staring at the cutting I bought off Etsy that’s been sitting in water for months ... 🤦🏻♀️
Oh dammmmm. I watched the demo, cut my variegated raindrop peperomia and then saw at the end you didn’t cut that type of peperomia and used the whole leaf! Ahh. I’m sure it’ll still work though.. right? 😬😂
I’ve never tried it but I think it should probably work. Let me know how it goes!!
Thank you so much that was really really really helpful
Aw you’re too nice!
Would you happen to know if this will work with 100% coco coir?
I haven’t tried it to be honest but as long as you’re keeping it moist I would say it should be fine!
Hi Plantslayer 😊
I'm sorry. I didn't understand. She said that she waters the plant when the leaves go limp and sad? I thought that when the leaves turn soft, that's a sign of overwatering! Please help me because mine has soft and limp leaves and I don't know what to do :(
Soft leaves can unfortunately be a sign of both. If you’re unsure then I suggest looking at the soil and if it’s still wet looking then it’s probably a case of root rot causing the soft leaves. But if it’s dry then it’s just super thirsty! I hope that helps 💕
@@plantyange Ah thank you so much!! I checked the soil and it was super dry so I tried to bottom water it for 20 minutes. It is already looking happier :D
Im about to throw aways my peperomia leave and than I found your video…tq…
I can’t wait to try this myself! I got this plant recently and I’m sure some friends would love it too 💗 thanks for sharing 😘
Thank you so much for watching 💕
