  • @leverguy
    @leverguy Рік тому +1

    It's not weird. All depends on how much weight you have vs. power as to how well a smaller sprocket can get up to speed. This is why race cars can use a high rear end gear and still have insane acceleration. Because they have enough power to do it. There's a curve to everything.

  • @WhiskersTheFish
    @WhiskersTheFish 2 роки тому +1

    Pretty strange how your 0-30 time it faster. Maybe because the sprocket is harder to pull the clutch slips more and lets you get a better launch? Great video though, I'll definitely be picking one of these sprockets up. Paired with a torque converter this sprocket will be super fast.

    I've got a Tillotson 212 with governor delete, chinese mikuni, 125 main jet, and straight pipe with muffler on my mini bike. Gear is 10 tooth clutch and 44 tooth sprocket. For some reason, at full throttle, when I reach around 47mph the engine starts to cut off. I've tried bigger and smaller jets, and I've also experimented with removing the air filter for max airflow, but it always happens. Could this be a sign of valve float? I've got the stock springs in the Tilly and not quite sure what spec they are. Any suggestions would be awesome.

    • @Black66
      @Black66  2 роки тому +1

      Not sure about the RPM you are turning but that could be the problem. One thing about it is the springs are super easy to change out and inexpensive.
      Another thing I've found with the Chinese Mikuni is the engine will cut out at the top if the main jet is too big. You can always look at the plug and make sure it has that nice brown color to see how it running as far as rich or lean goes.

      I have watched a bunch of them lol but all your testing done with the juggernaut and all of the mods to the ct200u I would of really liked to see if you would have kept everything the same and put a 60tooth rear. The power will surprise the hell out of you and surprisingly enough you don’t even lose top end speed.. you can get higher mph with straight chain and clutch but the down lower power is so terrible that the bike is basically rendered useless unless you only ride it on pretty level pavement and do no off-roading whatsoever. The torque converter and 60 tooth rear is an all around winner IMO. You can literally go trail ride in the mountains and have tons of power or cruise around the roadways still hitting about 50mph.. great content here love the channel. But would love to see the juggernaut and 60tooth rear combo tested 👍🏼

      @@87fiveoh I'm not sure that would be worth testing. If you had 9/60 gearing with a Juggernaut once the belt shifts the result would be close to what you would have with the jackshaft and stock Coleman gearing. It would need around 7K RPM just to get to 40 mph. That's one of the reasons why I'm never going to use a Juggernaut. I would probably have to use 10/40 gearing with it to keep the RPM down at higher road speeds.
      I'm using 9/60 gearing and it is very fun prior to the belt shift. With a yellow spring in the driven in the tightest hole I get 4500 RPM in less than 100 feet in the yard. And half of the run is uphill. With my 196 I get to around 47 mph right at 5K RPM. With the 224 it should do better than 50.
      If you're getting 50 at 240lb you're doing really good. What engine and what mods?

    So total mods, governor removed, carb jet kit, upgraded air filter and 40t sprocket? Am I missing anything or was this just a 40t sprocket change? How was torque, judging by the faster times I would think it would be equal. Just concerned if doing this mod to increase top end, would I lose low end torque. Important as we go off-road in the sand.

      And a header pipe. This is exactly why I was surprised. Usually, with a smaller sprocket, it would lose low end and gain at the top. I think this sprocket must put this engine right in the middle of the power band.
