Another great video bro. Ive been thinking about ordering from volts. I watch royaljz videos and I love the race and the cruise scene they got going on out west. I'm still waiting to see an old greyhound engine built on here. I've yet to find a video of one and I have a greyhound on my doodlebug and I love it. It's been holding up really strong
I have three Greyhounds. Two are utility engines and one is built for the minibike. They're just an odd clone with the unique side cover and five bolt head. Build them just like any other engine and all parts are available. Studz racing and NR Racing still sells the side cover and rocker cover gaskets. My Greyhound has been sitting on the shelf since I built a 224. But today I removed my stock Hisun 196 and jackshaft from my second bike and put the Greyhound on it with a torque converter. Pretty strong runner for what it is.
hey i like e in the mesa area do you ever sell any of your old builds my son has a little mini bike and wants me to get one i came across your videos and saw you have quite a few so figured i would give it a shot
Another solid video! I run 40 chain on most my bikes. Primarily because they are mostly off road and 8 inch rims. I like the durability and strength. Also they are forgiving as far as alignment.
We prefer 35 chain because it's lighter which equals less rotating mass. The 35 chain is plenty strong too as long as you use a quality brand like RLV. We've used 35 chain on a 40hp GX390 engine in a go kart with no issue.

I've been playing with my ratio a bit. It's a Massimo Baja Warrior MB 200, it came with a 50 tooth on the rear wheel and a 12 tooth on the centrifugal clutch, (I can't recall the sizes of the 2 sprockets on the jackshaft off the top of my head). Initially I went with a 14 tooth clutch but it still would max out the RPM to early and I could only get about 48 mph. Next I dropped to a 46 tooth on the rear which got me up to about 55 mph before valve float occurred and obviously no more RPM at that point so I then installed a 36 tooth rear sprocket which put me at about 75 mph before valve float. I'm now running a 32 tooth rear sprocket, stock jackshaft sprocket sizes, and 14 tooth clutch. I should say that at this same time I went to some 25 lb valve springs which allow the engine to rev out to about 6,500 RPM and I managed to get a two way average of 73 mph (honestly it probably had a bit more in it but I'm still running SunF knobbys and based on watching them free spin with the bike on a lift I think I'm already exceeding anything close to safe by at least 25 mph) With the 50 and 46 tooth sprockets the acceleration was definitely a lot harder. In fact it was brutally hard. As in wheel spin and standing the frt wheel straight up in the air while spinning the rear wheel. And that wasn't even a full throttle launch. With the 32 tooth rear sprocket it still accelerates very strong. Strong enough that a 20 mph roll on with another Massimo Baja Warrior MB 200 next to me (he's running a 10 hp Briggs and Stratton with a torque converter and a governor delete) I'm instantly 5 bike lengths ahead and adding another 5 bike lengths every couple seconds. It will still pull the front wheel off the ground by about 4 inches if I snap the throttle open at 25 mph. However...I cannot take off hard at all, I've got to wait till I'm rolling about 15 mph and then roll on the throttle. If I try to hit it hard from anything less than 15 mph the engine just completely overwhelms the clutch. I've done a couple clutch mods that made it better but I can still make it glow red hot without any effort. Unless someone knows of a clutch that'll actually grab and hold I'm going to have to go with plan B (I've got a 5 speed motorcycle transmission and clutch setup off a Honda Enduro). The engine I'm running is a Briggs and Stratton Vanguard Vtwin 479cc. Originally it was a 16hp but I've done a governor delete, a Kehein 36mm round slide, 25 lb valve springs, a set of headers and a minor port and polish on the heads. I'm speculating that it's around 22 to 24 hp and probably 25 ftlbs of torque. It runs a 1 inch crankshaft. Any ideas about a clutch that'll handle it, and also some street tires that will match the stock size (19× 9 ×8.50 I think) I'd really appreciate it.

The planned content will be mostly how to videos on modifications and repairs on minibikes go carts, as well as some late 70s through mid 90s Honda Xl, SL, XR, motorcycles and some Kawasaki 4 wheelers that I seem to be collecting enough of to qualify as a hoarder. There will probably be an occasional chainsaw (using/repairing) video and I'm sure there will be some firearms content as I have a small shooting range here on my property (out to 150 yards, rifles, pistols, and shotguns). There will be an emphasis on keeping all these projects as low dollar as possible while still getting results that are tangible. When I was able to work I was a machinist, builder, and mechanic. I have been doing this stuff almost 38 years, spent many years as a engine/performance specialist at a Harley dealership, built engines for some pro drag racing teams (Top Fuel Harley based dragbikes) and spent some time as a research and development technician for Harley Davidson Motor Company, and did a few years restoring vintage raceways. All of this stuff was done with extremely smart and talented men teaching me and I feel that the knowledge these men passed on to me should now be passed on to others who are interested in such things instead of letting it die with me. Of course a significant portion of content will probably involve me doing stuff that's probably not a good idea (like going over 70 mph on cheap minibike tires that are likely at best good for 40 mph, or running myself over with an ATV. That kinda stuff is surprisingly normal in my day to day routine. So if you'd like to see some pictures and video that is not good enough for a UA-cam video my FB is under this same name and my profile picture is my beloved Gracie Doggy (RIP) wearing an olive drab Vietnam era booney hat. @@BeatersRus I ran one of the generic 30 series TAV/torque converters on the predator 212 that was in the minibike when I got it and I loved it except for one problem, belt life seemed short if you ride hard with sprockets set up for high speed, and the fact that I'm 200 lbs. There are some bigger 40 series versions but after talking to a few people it seems like to get one that will handle the HP and load I'm putting on the drivetrain would be about $400 and I can't swing that on a VA disability check. What I did do was use some parts from a Chinese 4 wheeler centrifugal clutch, and some pieces of the centrifugal clutch I was already running, and ended up with a 1.5" larger diameter clutch that has 3 clutch shoes on pivots and uses a friction material similar to brake shoes. So far no slipping issues and I've put about 300 miles on it. As far as the Snow mobile TAV setups, I had actually considered trying one out but unfortunately where I'm at (south Texas) there aren't many snow mobiles around to pick parts off of and since I know very little about which ones might have parts that would fit where I need them to fit, I was leery of buying anything off the internet just to find out I can't use it. If I could get my hands on some to play with I'd love to try one out. The opposed twin engines are cool, I'm wanting one for a small airplane I want to build, called a "Legal Eagle" it looks kinda like a Piper Cub but smaller.
That is one sweet mini bike @Black66 I think its about time for you to open a shop and do custom builds. I feel confident that you would have a long waiting list from day 1! Now this is off topic however in my quest to reach speeds like you I am plagued with one problem which is out of round/balance wheels. Because you have done so many builds I wanted to ask you if you have ever had any stock wheels that were out of round or warped? The bike that I have been building for way too long is almost complete but my wheels are out of round, even when spinning them by hand it is pretty noticeable. My bike is a Realtree RT200 which is the same as a Coleman RB200, and nearly identical to the Mega Moto 212, minus the front brake and factory torque converter. Coleman sent me out 2 replacement wheels and they seem to be just as bad as the originals. I have replaced the factory tires with some SunF tires and replaced the cheap stock wheel bearings with some quality Japanese bearings but the wheels still wobble bad. Is this a common problem with factory coleman wheels or could I possibly be doing something wrong, or is my luck so bad that I have 4 wobbly coleman wheels?
I've had a couple wobble a little ,but nothing too bad. I did replace the Coleman CT200U-EX wheel with a MB200 wheel from GPS when I did the disk brake conversion on the Coleman. That thing spins true. Maybe you could put some nice aftermarket wheels on there?
I got a old rupp and my cousin was saying I could make it straight up chain drive, instead of the torque converter, but it goes pretty fast with just that, might have to check something like this out later

Hey, Do this. Take your cylinder head off and send it to David Vizard. He will do a show on how it’s best modified. He will port the runners and optimize the chamber for area ruling with flow balls. It will pick up port energy and probably get 85 or better from that. Nice job.
Hey all, I just got my 1st coleman B200r. Wanting to engine swap. Was looking at the predator 224, 212 with a stage 1 kit, but recently saw a 301cc and got curious. What say you?
Nice job, I believe this bike is my fav. Since you have been doing this much longer than I ,,I can use some help, I only have money for one and I want a stage 2 kit. (No more)what bike do you think is the best , to built on for speed/power? I’m thinking the mega moto I’ve had a Coleman there good, I just think the frame could be tightened up a bit. Any input would be appreciated greatly!!! ❤
Thanks! The Mega Moto 80/105 is my favorite modern bike. I like the way they handle and ride. Especially stretched out a little. Yes they are on the small side but you can still fit big power in the small frame with a small block engine or even electric.

I love your channel but i just dont understand what the different size chain does. I do get the gear ratios and i always cant wait until your next video sir. 👍🇺🇸😎Roger
Yeah it's got speed but what's it got for hill climbing power... nothing you'll burn the clutch up on straight chain...but if you add a torque unit and a performance muffler youll have more top speed and more torque for climbing power
Check out the playlist. The channel is about testing parts and the occasional build thrown in from time to time. These bikes keep the same combo long enough to make a video and then the parts get swapped out.
Why not run a CVT? I wish someone would build a CVT that had a cable that can allow manual control of the shift of gear ratios, like run full throttle pull the lever, just like a clutch this allows so much travel to roughly equal 2nd gear, repeat, for 3rd, repeat for 4th, again for 5th, and 6th, or keep the lever pulled for full automatic operation, maybe a short lever could be used to get it to down shift, it would be cool if the down shift could work in full automatic aswell, it would be awesome, seems it should not be too difficult to pull off! A latch mechanism to control the rear spring that keeps tension in the belt, preventing any motion past the set 2nd gear ratio, then an additional pull skips to the next ratio, possibly keep going to get back to first gear when stopped, to get to first it would require stopping to allow another pull to get to first, if shifted to 2nd, it would just act as 3rd gear Is the 2nd gear, and do the full auto from take off ratio to 2nd gear ratio, use a ring that thickens With each gear change, locking the spring from advancing the gear ratios, the roller weights would still need to be setup properly, possibly slightly on the heavy side, the ring would require a ratchet and lever mechanism, with a cable and spring, and this would be required to be operated on a spinning shaft, requiring a lever changed to a push pull with the shat, with a Torrington bearing, I'm sure someone else could figure this out better than I can, but a 3-4speed trans , based on planetary gears , that fits on a CVT , that does not require hydraulic pressure like automatic transmissions do, that would be even better! Or even with hydraulic control, if it's not too expensive it would be even better,, but a step above and beyond, would be a 5speed transmission that bolt on to the engine! Similar to a motorcycle transmission , with lever clutch, and lever for gears, 5up or down with a neutral, it should be easy,
Nice Stuff I'm surprised by the absolutely Steady Solid ride what Tires are you using ? what is the outside diameter ? Beautiful Toys and Great Location for it too Enjoy it 👍

Yo, how many miles you get to a rear tire? I lined my tire up straight as I could get it. I burned my tire up in about 150-200 miles only road not doing anything but going 45-65mph and it blew when I was going about 55-60mph I knew it was a chance riding on a balding tire. Yes, I ride a lot of pavement so on some of mine I use a 6-inch slick. Also, I am looking into other street treaded options but I still have to do a lot more riding to see if the mileage is any better on the new tires.
I need another opinion. My mini bike hits around 45mph (its a doodle bug with a 212) and it feels like valve float is hitting. How big of a difference will 18 lb valve springs make? I also am wondering if anyone knows where I can buy a 50 tooth rear sprocket for a db30
@@TheDrift_Lab I heard the 22lb would grind the cam lobes down more than 18lb. I do long distance riding, so I don't want to get a new cam for it if I don't have to. What setup do you have ?

Black66 you have to try 40 sprocket with a 12 tooth clutch and then see the to speed
If he had enough horsepower....the ratio with same RPM it will go 90MPH
Black 66, now those tires are speed rated for a little over 75mph🤣
Yes! LOL
That's a little beast there.
Black your the best rock on
Thanks! 👍
could I buy this off u
Why do I always laugh so hard when it cuts the the thing blasting by at like 70mph. Can’t wait for spring so I can try mine out.
Check out the playlist. I have many torque converter and straight chain videos.
HEY DUDE...did you know you have an ALIEN in your garage....lol.
This this the video I’ve been waiting for just built a stage 3 212cc slapped it on a stretched mega moto and been playing with the gears haven’t found a good one yet. I way 240lb on a 6” wheel.
Switch it up to 10inch wheels n try like 63-68 sprockets on a 35 set up
Can you do a video on installing hydro brakes
There are many videos on the channel about hydro brake installation. Check out the playlist. Thanks for watching! ua-cam.com/video/VbcpA0jdSIw/v-deo.html
Man that bike scoots! Seems like the 40 chain handles lower power levels with high efficiency.
I would do anything to get my hands on one, sheesh wanted one since 18.
6:37 - nice exhaust sound!
Thanks! Check out the Mega moto 80 playlist ua-cam.com/video/xV8i59aGUao/v-deo.html

Check out the Mega Moto playlist for more combos with this bike. ua-cam.com/video/VbcpA0jdSIw/v-deo.html
Is that the complete mini bike build ? In your description so order everything u have posted ?
The complete build is on the mega moto playlist

Hey,
Do this.
The fly by Epic

04:23 DUDE!...... the Filthy Frank Alien in the background!!!!! lol
DUDE...! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nice job, I believe this bike is my fav.
Since you have been doing this much longer than I ,,I can use some help, I only have money for one and I want a stage 2 kit. (No more)what bike do you think is the best , to built on for speed/power?
I’m thinking the mega moto
I’ve had a Coleman there good, I just think the frame could be tightened up a bit.
@@Black66 what electric mini bikes motor + ESC would you say is good? I work with high end esk8 motors a lot.
@@quinnfoster1234 I have only built three e-bikes. A QS90, QS120 and a Kunray 3000w . The three e-bikes are on the e-nike playlist if you haven't seen them already. The QS bikes had EM controllers.
The QS stuff works fantastic for me but I like the new controlles coming out from electro and CO. The TRUMOTO Noisy Cricket.
Excellent video brother!!!!
Sure would like to have a list of your build out
Thanks ! Check out the Mega Moto playlist for the entire build ua-cam.com/video/wHIKyVU4oxw/v-deo.html
What is the gold wedge between the motor and the frame for? thank you for your informative videos.
Thanks! Its a kart motor mount. Check out the build videos in the Mega Moto playlist ua-cam.com/video/CyOjHi-WEdA/v-deo.html
Question I got for you. I have Baja warrior trying to max it out what parts I need for wheelie and hit 70 to 100 mph Cruise bike
you cant do anywheres even close to both unless you use a belt driven Tav.
even then your stock warrior will go 52 mph.
start there, and work on a engine build for later install.
get used to riding it with the stock engine then swap and really FLY.
Please be safe and wear a Helmet.
I run a 42 tooth 420 sprocket, 8 inch wheels and Michelin 64 mph radials.
225 Tillotson, 28 Flat Mikuni, 3 stage pipe..90mph.
I love your channel but i just dont understand what the different size chain does. I do get the gear ratios and i always cant wait until your next video sir. 👍🇺🇸😎Roger
Did I miss it? What engine is this? Would this bike be able to fit a 4'9", 10 year old girl?
Check out the Mega Moto playlist for the entire build ua-cam.com/video/wHIKyVU4oxw/v-deo.html
Great Scott
Yeah it's got speed but what's it got for hill climbing power... nothing you'll burn the clutch up on straight chain...but if you add a torque unit and a performance muffler youll have more top speed and more torque for climbing power
Check out the playlist. The channel is about testing parts and the occasional build thrown in from time to time. These bikes keep the same combo long enough to make a video and then the parts get swapped out.
So this beats the ebike. Looks like you could use taller handlebars. It appears they almost hit your knee pads. Are the lower handle bars comfortable?
This bike is comfortable to ride. I'm a smaller rider . The bike fits me pretty good,
Why not run a CVT?
Similar to a motorcycle transmission , with lever clutch, and lever for gears, 5up or down with a neutral, it should be easy,
This is sweet! I’m looking to get a good Minibike, but I’m not super handy, so I want to try to find a good one, do you have any recommendations?
@@Black66 I found some good ones on tractor supply co. Are you able to mod any of them, or only specific ones?
Nice Stuff I'm surprised by the absolutely Steady Solid ride what Tires are you using ? what is the outside diameter ? Beautiful Toys and Great Location for it too Enjoy it 👍
Just wondering where you got your motor mount spacer. I was think about doing a predator swap on my mega moto 80 and dont really want to cut off the oil drain bolt. Thanks.
Awesome video...what kind of engine mount is that??
Thanks! Its a kart mount. Check out the Mega Moto playlist for the entire build. ua-cam.com/video/CyOjHi-WEdA/v-deo.html
Yo what do u use to record the top speed while recording?
I use digiHUD on the phone along with the camera GPS and a Dragy performance meter for 0 to 30
I found both of you guys at the same time lol
How long does it take to get there? Was that full acceleration?
Check out the Mega Moto playlist. I show 0 to 30 times with full acceleration on quite a few different set ups. ua-cam.com/video/xV8i59aGUao/v-deo.html
Royal Jz is a good UA-camr
hey black66 what was the shipping time on the volts minibike sprocket and clutch? I ordered a clutch and sprocket 3 weeks ago and still haven't got it. I tried calling, emailing, dming them and no response back.
Do you prefer a clutch or torque converter? Rebuilding a MTD Trail Flite with a Ghost 212 and original torque converter broke. Thanks.
I prefer a clutch on the smaller bikes .
@@Black66can u put a xlutch on tillotson
I always like to eyeball that chain from top of rear sprocket to counter shaft sprocket.
I see you are using a Max TQ Clutch for that engine. Is that also cammed with flywheel & rod? Im about to stage 2 mine but are worried that Max TQ clutch wont hold up to the power output. I currently have a Max TQ with Stage 1.
Bro that max tourqe with do just great until like stage 3 or 4. No need to worry about that
Max Torque is a durable clutch . Check out the Mega Moto playlist for the entire engine build on this bike. Thanks for watching!

@@rocknrye9273 na yea don’t worry. It will do just great. They’re some of the best clutches you can get before you get to the race ones. And they’re prices great.

I use a Dragy performance meter for 0 to 30
Let me know when you get that time machine built I’ve got some unfinished business to take care of 😁👍🏻
Hey Black, could you make a video educating people on hoe to tune the mikuini carb?
Yes, there are a couple MIkuni tuning videos on the channel. Here is one of them. Thanks for watching!ua-cam.com/video/MnQvIlFX8hM/v-deo.html
Me personally I had a 212 wit a 272 cam and with a 40 tooth rear sprocket moving bout 68 mph
Does the Coleman rb100 have a rear axel spacer, I bought one and it doesn't have one so I'm just wondering.
Hey man, where did you get the front shifts for the bike?
What forks are those? Is there a option with the stock 6 inch wheel and disk brake mount up front?
They are GoPowerSports forks. I don't think there is an option for the stock forks, but it wouldn't be too hard to fabricate a bracket. Check out the Mega Moto playlist for the entire build. ua-cam.com/video/VbcpA0jdSIw/v-deo.html
Get a 310 cam from GPS, really pulls hard on the top end
I have more cam videos coming out on this bike.
Yo, how many miles you get to a rear tire? I lined my tire up straight as I could get it. I burned my tire up in about 150-200 miles only road not doing anything but going 45-65mph and it blew when I was going about 55-60mph I knew it was a chance riding on a balding tire. Dude these cheap sketch as fk tires don't last no matter what. I'm considering buying aircraft tires to save money if they will last. A 6ply tractor slick didn't last either. You got any tips? I under inflated and same shit. My front tire is like new. Idk but need help
Yes, I ride a lot of pavement so on some of mine I use a 6-inch slick. Also, I am looking into other street treaded options but I still have to do a lot more riding to see if the mileage is any better on the new tires.
I have the same frame and a completely stock 212 and my top is 63
How ?
Very Nice!!!

a screaming demon !
Awesome!!
I just bought a coleman B200 R from tra tor supply it runs 35 mph without .modifications is this normal?
That's a fast bike out of the box. Maybe it has a tight governor spring...
Black 66, did this gearing setup seem really hard on the clutch at take off and lower speeds?
Yes it will, you will see premature clutch wear, with this setup you will want to get going at like 15mph pretty quick if you want it to last
Good stuff
I need another opinion. My mini bike hits around 45mph (its a doodle bug with a 212) and it feels like valve float is hitting. How big of a difference will 18 lb valve springs make? I also am wondering if anyone knows where I can buy a 50 tooth rear sprocket for a db30
@@TheDrift_Lab I heard the 22lb would grind the cam lobes down more than 18lb.
I do long distance riding, so I don't want to get a new cam for it if I don't have to.
What setup do you have ?
can you shout out what type of brakes you got? i have a mega moto just like this one with a 212 predator but i need to add better/ hydraulic brakes and a front brake disk as well

Do you put lock tight on those sprocket screws for some reason mines from volts screws got ripped out
Can u make a video about making the 420 predictions fast?
This is impressive!!
Just bought my first BT200 and started modding.
Curious if anyone has tried using the rear sprocket as a disc brake calliper?
Sounds nuts but a friend of mine has been doing it on an annual go cart build/race event for a few years now and says he’s never had issues.
Alot of old school bikes ran them like that just don't use an aluminum sproket and it will be just fine
how do you size the caliper correctly?
