- When you install a 40-tooth sprocket on the Coleman CT200U-ex
Removed the 50-tooth sprocket and Installed a 40-sprocket.
Did a top-speed run to see how much faster the bike would be with the 40-tooth gear?

Good information guys i like your work my Coleman will do about 40 fast for a 62year old man im not through with it yet looking for 60 you got a new sub
Thanks! Colman bikes are really nice bikes .
I ride my 200ex on off-road trails & gravel back roads mostly, I'll probably go with 46 or 50 tooth for the extra acceleration power through the dirt. But if I had more paved roads I'd rock that 40
With what tooth clutch?
I love it! Exact opposite of my issues but same awesomeness!!
Shes a beast! Can't wait to ride it again.
Ya, it's a beast! It's gonna get even more beastly later on.
@@Black66 yes im looking forward to it.
I built an electric razor frame...stretched it 10 inches...went with a 212 predator...run a 12 tooth sprocket on engine and 15 tooth on jackshaft a 1.25 ratio...put clutch on right side of jack shaft to wheel...10 to 48...1:6 total ratio...clutch kicks on 2500 rpm...nice take off...40+ mph...my son that rides a Harley dyna even likes it...
Awesome. I haven’t reached sprockets yet I’m waiting on parts like the mikuni and 18lbs valve springs etc but I thought people went with higher tooth count but I literally haven’t looked too far into it yet. I’ll get there sooner than I think tho lol. I’m about to order this same bike also. That will be number 6 🤦♂️
Awesome! Bike 6 . These are nice bikes.
I think it all depends on what you want. If you want higher speed then a smaller sprocket will do the trick. Or Visa versa.
@@Black66 interesting i also have 6 just bought ct200u ex dark blue came
@@datvitoforensrcle5334 Nice bike ! It kinda seems like you like those bikes lol
I have more videos on this bike and more coming .
I would have thought the bike would have gone faster with the bigger sprocket. Shows you what I know
That's ok. It's all for fun anyway.
There are a lot of "cooler" things they do on the big tire bikes. I love mine for that reason. Small tire bikes seem to require a bit more finesse.
Ya, true . I like the big tire bikes too.
In this late but I have both small and bike tire bikes ... Love a small tire bike with no suspension . 5 mph doesn’t seam like a lot until you run someone that goes 5 mph slower then you lol
Good video
Ive got a cc100x, predator 224,governor just bypassed, adjustable normal carb with stock emulsion tube, .37 jet, ngk tr55 v-power plug (the autolite 3910x is ok too), air filter/stack,intake breather, straight pipe, 15 tooth clutch, 75 tooth sprocket, and Im maxing out at 45mph on flat road. I weigh 170 n have a 20lbs back pack. Still tries to pull a wheelie on flat OR up hill.
I should be able to use same part for a Bt200x ?
What exhaust you have on the air and where do I get it from?
I keep breaking chains, I got a new one just the other day that is a heavier duty chain that last longer and etc have the cleaning stuff for it and have cleaned it once already, but my master link broke off and is gone but my chain I still have, this is the 5th time this has happened any ideas?
So how many change do I need to take off the chain for the sprocket to fit just one?
I'm confused I just got a sprocket 37 tooth same bike how do I remove the links from the chain
Sweet video. Easy to follow. How many links did yall end up removing from the chain?
Thanks! I think we removed 6 links
What’s the measurements of the sprocket because that link dos t work anymore
This bike is awesome not too sure what to do next. So far. Street tires, nitros, bullet flywheel this bike should be done far as I know. It's now faster than the 100cc mini bike. Although y'all never change the socket on the smaller bike. The rear might be 75tooth and it topped out 40mph Maybe it need 5-10 teeth down. Not to much or it won't reach past 40mph at all. And it's a slight chance the jackshaft set up might give you more speed than the torque converter. You can change the sprockets on the jackshaft too for more speed. Another guy did 55 mph on a ct200u by making the smaller sprocket on the jacketshaft bigger. It turned the back wheel more than a smaller sprocket
Ya, it's all about gearing. It all depends on what you want out of the bike. We could gear it for more top speed, but we want a balance between top speed and low-end torque.
my coalman ct100u dose 43 max i still have a governor i put a 212cc engine in it and a stage 1 kit thats it but it keeps wanting to stop on me while im driveing and idk why anyone got any ideas on why ??
Hey love these videos they have been helping me alot. Thank you. The link for the sprocket is broken and all I can’t seem to find them anymore. Is there another place lace I can order?
I fixed the link. Thanks!
on a coleman 100 frame with a 212 stage 2 kit, what do you perfer on sprocket an clutch setup? How many T front an back?
I like the clutch setup. Check out this video. It's running a 6.25 ratio. 12 front 75 rear in this video. I also tried a 5.1 ratio. A 15 on the clutch. Both work well. ua-cam.com/video/tj8XxfvMbRE/v-deo.html
Can it go up steep hills still
If I install a torque converter and stage 1 kit on a 212 pred I can still use the stock 50t sprocket right or would I have to change it ??
It depends on how you ride. If the bike spends most of its time on the road you may want to keep the 50 tooth. For trail riding with hills to climb the 60 tooth works great.
What torque did it take to tighten the flywheel. Buddy.
Hey 66 another great video. I'm over here in bullhead and a cop pulled me over telling me I need to have my bike registered and insured. Have you had any trouble with police up there in Kingman about your mini bikes? Thanks
No, not yet. i try to ride outside of town as much as I can now.
Do you think the one brake is enough stopping power for the bike; especially at 44 MPH?
Ya, the brake on the CT200U-EX does a pretty good job at slowing me down. I'm pretty lightweight.
I might look at upgrading them at some point.
I really like that muffler you have on your bike. In the description when you click on the link for the muffler it pulls up a different one. Do you have a link to the exact muffler you have on this bike in this video? Thanks
I have the link for the pipe in a different video in the CT200U-EX playlist. Thanks for watching! ua-cam.com/video/Tga6b-Ip6SY/v-deo.html
What is the number so I can order parts ?
Love the videos, where did you get your 40 tooth rear sprocket from.
I left the link in the description for the sprocket. Thanks for watching the videos.
If you get a chance can you build the 13 tooth sprocket and 2 clutch system...it might work great...I been watching your videos and love these Coleman's...I am going to buy one from the hardware store I work at...
I like the Colemans too. Fun bikes!
Ya, that would be a fun video . A 2 clutch .
Hey I got the same bike stocked right now just bought a predator 212 for it and ordered a stage 1 kit for it. Been watching your videos I really been learning a lot from you. Fina order the 40t rear sprocket you used in this video do you think I should keep the same clutch or change it out. Would like more speed and torque since I’m a heavier guy would u say keep the jackshaft or change it out for a torque converter or is straight chain better
Thanks for watching the videos. You will need a different clutch for the 212 unless your going to use a torque converter. The 212 has a 3/4 shaft vs the 196 16mm shaft.
If you are a bigger guy I would go with he jackshaft or torque converter. Straight chain wont have any low end , especially with the 40 sprocket and if you are a heavier guy.
@@Black66 ok thank you I’ll go with the torque converter so what clutch you think would be best for the predator 212 with the 40 sprocket
what about the flywheel? i have the same bike and same mods just worried of going over 5500rpm because of the flywheel exploding on me. help?
I have a video on a cast flywheel and a billet flywheel. Both would be better , but they dont have the magnets for the charging coils for the light. Check out the playlist. Thanks for watching!
my ct200u-ex does 45 with torque converter, intake, header, and jet kit. still has the governor too. the rear sprocket was upgraded to a 72 tooth before i got it and it’s crazy that it still does 45 with that. now i want to get a smaller sprocket and see how fast i can get it without removing the governor
Stock carb ?
@@Proto2011Rail yeah just jetted
Wow you did all that to get it to 50 miles an hour I changed my timing key in my springs and I’m already reaching 42 miles an hour with a big sprocket
What size chain?
Not including a carb swap, or governor, what would you say was the one single mod that gave you the most noticable performance boost?
We have tried so many different combos with this bike it's hard to remember them all. Check out the CT200U-EX playlist ua-cam.com/video/X0SmAZJ6qW8/v-deo.html
I would say a torque converter would be the most noticeable for me
This guy has some tried and true subscribers his videos have almost the same amount as his subscribers he is way underrated tho 😢
You need the torque converter conversion. And then some really great brakes.
Videos coming
should i get one of these stock for 500 or a murray track 2 with a 212 the guy says it does wheelies and goes 45 mph which one black dude66 need ya advice
I think it depends on what you want. If you just want a cruiser, go ahead and grab the new one. If you are like me and would change out the small engine for a bigger one anyway, then you might as well get the bike that has the swap already done. That way you can spend the money on Performance engine parts for the Predator. Hopefully it's in decent shape.
@@Black66 thanks man ima check it out
You kids are having way to much fun 😂
Yes!! We are having a blast. This life is way too short. We gotta have fun.lol
@@Black66 ya know, you keep pushing your minibikes faster and faster you’re gonna run into that little thing we call death wobble. When you start getting closer to 65MPH I would seriously suggest adding a steering damper to the front end to eliminate any death wobble. Other than that keep up with the mods and great videos
@@stanlucas665 Thanks.Funny you mention that. We have a video coming up where I go 68 plus MPH with that little blue bike. It felt like 100 LOL. I was scared the tires would pop. I could have used that stabilizer bar. I think sometimes we push the fun a little too far.
@@Black66 don’t we all. The steering dampers are fairly inexpensive. You can find some adjustable ones on eBay for less than $40.00
Just ordered that same 40t sprocket earlier. Same everything minus 10 teeth. Should be way faster being straight chain! Just need a chain breaker and a new chain

@@Black66 yes I have. First mini bike and im in love with the thrill. Can you please tell me what rear rim I need to buy to be able to run a slotted disc rotor? I would like to keep the same 19x7-8 tires on
I also found a 37tooth sprocket but it's not for the mini bikes. I'ma try to put it on anyway and I'll keep y'all posted on how it went. I think I should make videos too this is fun
I think you should!
I finally tested a 37 tooth rear sprocket and for me it feels the same for takeoff and it topped out 47mph. When I topped out it still had plenty of power for an even smaller sprocket but my frame is in the way for that
From stock price to current mod how much cost was it?
The Mikuni carb kit was $60, the sprocket was $30 and the header was $50 with the silencer. So On the high end, I would say $150 total. And the nice part about it is, The Mikuni is super easy to tune and will support later modifications to the engine.
Take that Jack shaft off put converter and do 50 easy. I have a baja mini bike all stock with converter Gov bypassed and I'm doing 50
same set up i recommend if u just take the jack shaft alone it will boost u up a lil over 40 alon
How have the upgrades affected the longevity of the engine? Is she still running okay, or has it detonated itself?
I put one on mine a couple years back and it runs pretty good still. Mine has pretty much the same mods he does.
I take mine on dirt and have some steepish hills and take it on pavement a bit more than dirt but have some steep hills still would this mod be good / ok for this
It pulls really well with the torque converter and the 40-tooth but if you are a heavier rider I would just leave the 50-tooth on there.
Hi Black. Just replaced my Baja Warrior's 199 cc with the 420 Predator. Jackshaft had to be removed as the new motor barely fit. Anyway, Replaced the clutch and put on a 40 tooth. Ratio is now 12 to 40. Now running straight chain. I.m 200 lbs. Can't get moving as the chain "Clunks" and wont move with me on it. It will move with no one on it, What's the fix for this?? Higher tooth rear sprocket? Torque converter? PLEASE HELP
Try throttling it while going down a hill. That's a pretty tall gear. I'm about to do the same but I weigh 70 pounds less than you. If he can do it using a torque convertor than I know it's possible.
5 months later & finally got it right. Watched Black66 videos on torque converters. Installed one and with the 40 tooth this thing is a beast! Pulling wheelies and going 45 MPH!

I'm shocked they found a 40tooth sprocket I can't find any more out here Philly I felt like I bought the last one for the past 3 months. But yeah a smaller sprocket gives more top speed uses less gas and less stress on the motor. Is there a link or way to purchase the 40 tooth sprocket directly.
There is more stress on the engine and drivetrain with the 40 tooth. Engine has to work harder against the load.

I'm so confused I thought for a higher top speed you needed more teeth on the rear not less lol ? But what the hell do I know ? I was just looking at 60 tooth sprockets on line to replace my 50 tooth but now that I saw this video I'm like HUH ? I need to buy a lower tooth sprocket instead ?
Ya, a smaller rear sprocket should get you some more top speed .
Most interesting thing here is you were turning around 6300 RPM on the top speed run. On stock valve springs? And 39 MPH with the 50 tooth is around 7000 RPM. This is amazing if those are stock valve springs.
Totally stock internals . I’m surprised on how well this thing has held up so far . It has been ran hard for months now .
@@Black66 after i broke in my 200u ex for an hour i was running 21mph,removed the throttle limiting screw it went up to 25 mph, zip tied the governor spring and it went up to 33 mph, added a straight pipe and i gained another mph and faster acceleration. Then i put 18# valve springs and now I'm getting 40 mph. That's about as fast that i need to outrun the German shepherd about a mile down the road.
@@GluteusMax777 LOL, And that stuff isnt even that expensive. win win
Why hasn't anyone designed a roller chain with tiny bolts instead of this ribbit madness.
That would be cool! Like small Allen head bolts
@@Black66 Yes and and colmen should just use a pipe exhaust, instead of that grill.
Take off the Jack shaft it’ll hit 50 bro 👍🏻
