@@Black66 hey I wanted to ask, is there a way you can make a step by step video on how to remove the governor for the CT200U 196cc engine or send me a link if you have already. I want to remove mine but I can’t find a good video and I just started watching you and your walkthroughs are amazing

I will love to see it done on a APC mini Harley chopper, heard it's crazy fast..lite frame just some modifications lol I did one but not torque converter..Great video as always 💪 💯🇺🇲
So I used this video as a reference for modifying my own ct200u with a series 30 tav. I ordered everything that was listed on the description for this video. Firstly, the 5/8 to 3/4 shaft adapter may work for some people but it certainly didn’t work for me. I assume it’s just shoddy manufacturing. Some work, some don’t. Luckily I had a spare predator 212 laying around so I just swapped the engine over to make the tav work. Secondly, the tav itself is good but very very finicky. It required a lot of adjustments to make it work well. The driven pulley for instance is way too close to the chain out of the box. I ended up adding a washer to space the pulley away from the chain a few millimeters. MAKE SURE to do this because your chain WILL get caught on the pulley and instantly ruin your day. For those of you that have watched further in this series, you’ll see him changing out the rear sprocket to a 40t. I did the same and I’m not sure how to feel about it yet. The speed is definitely nice but the moment you hit a slight incline, you can feel the tav trying it’s best to grip but mine ended up smoking after a 15 minute ride. It heated up the tav unit so much that the brass washer that the belt rides on expanded and got stuck on the shaft. If I didn’t catch it soon enough, I feel like I would’ve destroyed the belt. I’m going to try using some graphite lube around the washer and see if the reduction in friction will resolve the problem. All in all, great video, good mod but be prepared to put in a few hours of work to get it perfect. I’ve taken my bike out for a few rides and I still have a lot of adjusting to do. Hope this was helpful to anyone else who’s looking to try this out themselves!
hey I'm just wondering how much top speed did you pick up with the 40 tooth sprocket? and did you loose a lot of low end torque to where it's easier to switch to a straight chain? also we haven't been running the brass bushing for a little over a yr without any problems since we shredded a belt because the brass bushing snapped
@@nathanialhulsey6900 I can’t say how much speed the 40t added because I never tested the tav with the original sprocket. I’m guessing it would be around 8 or 9mph. I’m certain there’s a equation out there for figuring out speed. As for torque, I probably lost a little compared to the stock jackshaft but not a whole lot. You only really notice it on hills. I definitely wouldn’t do a straight chain because that will absolutely kill your torque and take forever to get up to speed even on a flat surface. Bushing hasn’t snapped for me yet but I’ll definitely keep that in mind!
@@raveenrichie5734 After I watched this video I was wondering what he would get with the stock 50 tooth or even the 60 tooth. I would bet that he would get higher than 43 with a 60 tooth. With the 40 tooth his engine never made it to 3000 RPM. The engine never even got to its better power potential to drive the load at a higher RPM. With a stage 1 kit there's more power available at 4000 RPM than there is at 3000 RPM.
@@Deucealive75 I know this is an older video, but with my own experience I actually lost top speed with the 40 tooth and torque converter. 60 tooth rear is actually too torquey for me, very sensitive and takes off extremely fast. Hey we saw this video and did the same thing. Runs strong but it’s eating belts.. let’s say.. 1 per month. Stock with bolt one. Any way we can have the belts last at least 6months?
Hey i ordered the same driveshaft adapter as you and it doesn’t slide on like yours does. i would have to hammer it on and i’m scared of it getting stuck. also did you use the key that came with the adapter?
i really hope you reply to this comment with some tips. i noticed you haven’t really replied to many comments the last year or so, hope you’re still active!
His slid on no problem in the video. Joking aside a lot of guys have had problems with this. In one video a guy smacked the fixed sheave on with a hammer. Bashed it all up. Those are 5/8 to 3/4. The Hisun crankshaft is 16mm which is larger than 5/8. When you put it on it expands a touch making it difficult to slide on the fixed sheave. I would never use one. When I built my Hisun196 it got a 3/4 crankshaft during the build.
@@Black66 is it gonna be too much? Will I be running thru belts? I’m on my 3rd clutch in one season. First, two I wasn’t oiling them correctly. I didn’t know.
@@7MilePaul I think if you align the pullies it should be alright. It won't eat belts as fast. Maybe get a good converter that is rated to handle a good amount of power. I have never tried one of the cheaper ones with a 236. I'm not sure how it would hold up,
Can I do this without a engine rise kit? I don’t really have the money to buy the riser kit, but I have a grinder and some discs to cut off the chain mount is that a good option?
You could also just use some 1 inch square tubing and drill holes to match the block. You will have to move the mounts to the side a bit as well to make sure the chain lines up right.
So did you use a 5/8 to 3/4 shaft adaptor? I have heard that doesn't work very well with the 16mm shaft. Did you alter the adaptor, or did you find a 16mm to 3/4 adaptor? I sent a message to the guy on ebay who makes adaptors and he told me the 5/8 to 3/4 would not work but he could custom make one for me that would work. Thanks for the video.

Check out the CT200U-EX and the CT200 U playlist for full governor removal videos ua-cam.com/video/X0SmAZJ6qW8/v-deo.html
would this fit a 224cc predator?
Yes, it is for a 3/4 shaft engine.Check out the 224 playlist. Thanks for watching.
Invest in the 146.9 gram aluminum weights from omb warehouse with the stock stall spring you’ll get more speed in top end
What size bolt is needed for shaft using the stock 196 motor ?
M6 x1.0
@@Black66 M6-1.0x????
hi, I also fitted the same kit, when I walk 2 km I touch the belt and it overheats why?? yours is the same i.e. does it overheat??? or is it normal??
Hey we saw this video and did the same thing. Runs strong but it’s eating belts.. let’s say.. 1 per month. Stock with bolt one. Any way we can have the belts last at least 6months?
Align the pulleys. Check out this video ua-cam.com/video/AR2vISEaTcc/v-deo.html
So where did you get the sprocket? Can't find it and it doesn't appear to be in the description.
Did you remove the governor ?
Yes. Check out the CT200U-EX and CT200U playlist for many combos on this bike. Thanks for watching! ua-cam.com/video/X0SmAZJ6qW8/v-deo.html
How’s the 5/8 (16mm) to 3/4 crank shaft adapter holding up?
No problems. So far so good
Hey i ordered the same driveshaft adapter as you and it doesn’t slide on like yours does. i would have to hammer it on and i’m scared of it getting stuck. also did you use the key that came with the adapter?
i really hope you reply to this comment with some tips. i noticed you haven’t really replied to many comments the last year or so, hope you’re still active!
@@ct200uwhat did you do? Trying to figure out the same issue
I wish you’d do a video on how you make chains without a masker link, I can never get the pin to go back in lol I need the know the secret
bro please tell me where you got the bolt i need that and it’s the only thing i’m missing for my build😢
Same
What was the bolt ? If u ever found it out
How long was that shaft bolt u used and wat size was the gold washer u put on
did you find out
Been thinking about putting one on my 236 tillotson
It would be a beast with that Tilly!
@@Black66 I wanna do it but my builder Keeps telling me I’m gonna lose top end. I’m straight chained right now with the Hilliard inferno clutch.
@@7MilePaul Ya, compared to a straight-chain it might lose a little but man, with that 236 its gonna have some awesome torque
I'm not sure how it would hold up,
Can you help me make my camo coleman 200 ex faster im still waiting on my shipment tho
Yes, check out my videos on that bike. I have quite a few on the channel
@@Black66 i have a staged 2 kit wit carb what other mods do u prefer i add with it
@@bigpoppachino3437 If you have a Mikuni carb that helps it out even more.
The new predator 212cc will not fit with a riser plate, I just found this out....
Does the new one have a bigger tank or something?
@@Black66 yeah it looks bigger than the older predators, I swapped it for the original hisan tank, now all is good
Can I do this without a engine rise kit?
They have an adapter that works with the 16mm shaft. I used them on the CT200U-EX and the CT200U 196cc. The link is in the description of the video
where did u get the bolt at? for the middle part where u said it was for the predator
did you find our
Hey man, where did you get the tourq converter
I’m guessing go power sports or omb warehouse. Those are the two big mini bike/go kart shops
@@Troygehring yeah man I just ordered the jugernot torque converter
@@mylandbristow6854 sick man your gonna love it
In my opinion this is the best way to gain speed
Hey how much did the original vehicle cost
I got it for a few hundred from a guy on Craigslist. I think new they are in the $600 range give or take.
What is the bolt to the clutch
If you really want to improve on speed, find an 11 tooth c sprocket for the jackshaft that fits the 420 chain like I did and you can hit 50mph. I have a 7.27.1 ratio. 10 on clutch,20 on jackshaft input and 11 tooth output to 40 rear.
That will work . We got the Coleman bikes over 60 MPH with a straight chain. Check out this video and the CT200U-EX playlist for many combos with this bike. Thanks for watching! ua-cam.com/video/Up6TpJiopEo/v-deo.html
@@Black66 I just installed the torque converter tonight, so it basically matches what you have. but I threw the 11 tooth back on the jackshaft. I'll test it tomorrow to see the top speed
@@R1CEBWL What top speed did you get with the 11/40? How did you like it?
I think the torque converter would be more effective pulling it up hills or dragging a dead animal like the old Tote Goat.
Will this fit on the rt 200 Coleman? Thx
Did you use the bolt that held the clutch on for the converter or did you buy one? If so what size do I need to buy for my 196 cc
Take your original to the Hardware Store. Length? Just match it to the one that comes with the TC.
Yes
What app is that?
nice video man, what kind of rear sprocket is that, that you are using?
I believe a 40tooth
Will this fit on my predator 212?
Well, he’s putting the converter on the 212
Hey black im loving your channel. Quick question, would u recommend billet flywheel or torque convertor once all the stage 1 stuff is done? For a ct200uex. Thanx so much!
Thanks! I would recommend a torque converter for the heavier bikes with the 19 inch tall tires.
Another great video! Hey, where did you get that "unicorn" of a MOUNTING PLATE? I was soooo NOT wanting to cut the frame of my CT200U-EX. Even tho it's only a glorified chain guard mount. Think it adds some structural stability, laterally. Besides its an ugly scar. Seriously tho, I really like this "offset" design. Allowingthe install of my TAV2-30 . Thanks again, the brosman
Nevermind, I found it. bay $52.95 called:Torque Converter Riser Plate With Hardware Coleman Ct200u Bt200x Mb200 TAVPLATE
Is the gov off
Sounds like it
So it will go faster with belt?
Only taking off
