- This is a guide for buying and installing a home theater projector. This video covers everything from planning, measuring, building, purchasing, and installing a home theater projector. Now that home theater projectors are more inexpensive than ever, it's a great time to build your own home theater. Even 4K home theater projectors are affordable now, allowing most people to enjoy a big screen that looks better than most movie theater screens. This guide can be used as a way to determine the best home theater system for your space. Please be sure to post any questions in the comment section as I try to respond to as many questions as I can.

Everything about these instructional videos is top notch except for, like most UA-cam videos, the way you read every line exactly the same way. Keep it up!

Great video man! Really impressed by your knowledge base.
Loved it. Helpful. Concrete visuals are worth the time you put into them.
Very good - straight to the point and very helpful - marvellous.
Home theater setup can be a complicated task for some; you have simplified the work. And, thanks for the projector recommendations.
I had to subscribed. Very informative. Loved every bit of the video. Can't wait to see more.
Hey bro, another awesome video. You last video of the projector vs lcd inspired me to go head and order a projector. I have always been a fan of Lcd/led or oled t.v.s due the picture brightness when ambient light was involved. My only issue with a projector was having to change a bulb so often. I saw how happy you were with your Optima Uhd60. I said why not. So I ordered the uhz65 and the main reason I went with that was it is a lazer projector and the life is oh about 20k hrs. I also heard good reviews for the uhz65 as well. I would like to email your possibly for some pointers as this is my first projector project.
Thanks for your time,
Derie

Holy crap dude, I'm so surprised you don't have more subscribers! You just got another sub. I've been thinking about getting a home theater myself and your videos are fantastic. I just had a question: what aspect ratio should I go for (16:9, 16:10, etc.)?
Many thanks!
Sid Chitale I just built and installed a 16:9 and love it
Instant sub great video thank you
Thank you 😊
Very helpful thank you awesome
Great video!!! 👍
My projector is 7 years used and still holds up for 1080p. 5400 lumens is still impressive. Eventually, I would have to get a new projector, and they will stop making parts for the projector I have, but for now, this projector works just fine. The projector is a pt-ez580 PANASONIC for anyone who is wondering. Yes, I know it's not for home theater use, but it seems to work great for home theater indoors and outdoors. I have it on a 64-inch by 110-inch screen from 20 feet away, and the colors are still amazing. The image isn't even close to fading. It can go way bigger, and I plan on making a screen specifically for outdoors. You can even adjust the size of the screen without having to move the projector. If anyone is looking for a projector that doesn't hurt your budget but still wants a great home theater experience, this projector is perfect.
I took the plunge and never looked back!
I Built a 100" home theater system back in 2014. I installed this in my main living room as our main "Do all TV". I ended up using a 100" electric drop down screen. I did everything myself and it was alot easier than I thought. I used a budget Sony 5.1 4K receiver, 5 budget in wall/ceiling speakers to keep the clutter down, A 10" self powered Sub for some really good bass and a BenQ W1070 1080p projector unit mounted in the ceiling. I could not believe how "Professional" everything looked when I was done. Family and friends were under the impression that I must have paid thousands and Thousands of dollars to have this built and installed.
I am very happy the way this all turned out. Picture quality is always good no mater what time of day. My kids are easily able to turn everything on and watch DirecTV, Netflix, Amazon and Blu-Ray movies. I also Hook up the Xbox One from time to time.
I have a few other 4K smart TV's as well, but we all just love watching our shows and movies on our theater projector system.
How long did this take for you to set up?
Appreciate all the info., but I’m on information overload😂. Subscribed!
I know this is an old video but I am just now seeing it. Great content, I subbed and liked easily.
Question: if I were to get the short throw benq and place it at the recommended throw distance of like 8ft 3 inches, can I produce all the sizes below it? Example: set for 150” but can produce 120” easily
Thanks
Thanks, great video! I'll probably be watching it a dozen times, with your other videos too, so I can make sure I understand it all before I undertake this challenge lol. But I will get it done! ;) I've been wanting to setup a home theater for a while now. I have the perfect finished basement to do one in. Love the LED lighting behind your screen. Awesome finishing touch!
This really helped! Good quality and everything made sense😄
Thank you! Great info :-)
Good vid
Bro, your video is cool. Is there an updated version that I can refer to for setting projector in my media room?
Hi!! I just subscribed to your channel!! Great video thank you for you effort. My question is, which brand 4k projector would you recommend that is not going to "rob the bank?" Long throw is what I will need. I will take your advice and buy the projector first and than decide on my screen. I have no light issues the room is very dark.
Hey saving up for 7.2 surround setup use onkyo receiver with mission LX 3s what do you think
good info
Great content!!!!! You speak very well.
I have a tight budget on my home theater (under 100 dollars) so I use an unbranded short throw 720p projector siding about 6 feet away and a 16:9 aspect radio screen.
I need that screen guess I’ll put my own
Great video, what lights are you using on your screen?
What your thoughts on vivabright projector? Great video and you got a new sub.
would like it you could go over optimal wiring for home theater systems.
EXCELLENT!!! Would you do a review, really want your take, on the DARBEE DVP-5000S? O have on my Benq PJ and think it's great!! Thanks!
Chris, your videos have been a huge help! I've ordered the projector and screen, but now I am stuck with how to setup the audio and video. I want to use my PC for video and a sound bar for audio (Will upgrade to a better sound system later) So should I connect the PC directly to the projector with an HDMI cable then the projector to the sound bar, or should I invest in a A/V receiver and connect everything to that? Also, I want to connect my Xbox 360 as well. Thanks!!
