I bought the Epson 1080 about a year ago and still absolutely love it. Straight up 1080p image, which at 120in is REALLY good, and the brightness in daylight is comparable to a tv. Didn't have to break the bank, hands down so glad I went with it rather than a big tv.
I just switched from my old trusted 1080p projector a BenQ TH681+ to the Epson 6250. It used to be with the 1080p projector I could walk up and count the pixels on the screen but not anymore 😊 Even these cheap "4k" projectors are a lot sharper than the 1080p ones. The only issue is they cheap out with only hdmi 1.4 ports on the machine.

I knew nothing about Home Projectors and I’m looking into buying one, watching your video helped me a lot to understand the differences, Thank You Chris I appreciate it
I bought my very first toy projector yesterday! Really enjoyed the experience. I just wanted a big screen and am not a big stickler for quality. I only watch movies at night and the area in my house I am projecting to is equivalent to a 65 inch TV maximum which would have cost me ~$600 at least. So it was a no brainer for me. Will consider updating to a pricey option eventually.
Just moved into a new home that has a home theater. This was my first stop when I set out to replace the existing projector and you did not disappoint!
mmm, appreciate the effort for doing this video but, actually, the interesting part of doing a video about how things stand about projectors in the current year is specifically about the brands and models: which once are dated or, rather, which ones remain high up despite having 5+ years since release, for example. Tech moves way way faster than most of us like and within only 2 years the scenario can dramatically change. So whats good about this type of content is check wether that brand we just saw from a 3-year-old video its still rocking or not. Many of this things you cover in the video doesn't really depend on age and haven't changed at all after all these years. You are a killer youtuber, though (as you probably already know to well) and your extremely dedicated and super well made videos are very very helpful for many of us. so, thank you for that
Chris..I am a disabled veteran and have limited funds..I was able to finance the new Benq ht 4550i and get the $ 200.00 rebate from Benq..This pyojector is amazingly bright and colors are great.I have a 150" matte white screen and it is so bright, I turned it down and contrast was awesome in 4k..Keep up the info videos...Thanks..

Hey Chris, thanks for creating this video. It was exactly what I was looking for. I'm planning to build a patio theater to watch games and movies with my family and friends. Thanks again! -- Greetings from Costa Rica!
This is extremely helpful. Thank you. I've been wanting to get a projector to use outdoors (at night, of course), but I wasn't sure what to look for or what I should expect to pay.
Super helpful video, thank you! My problem is that I'd want to use a projector at an angle to project high up on a wall. I'll be watching more of your videos to learn more 🙌
In relation to projectors for business, the main limitations that you mention and that they have for being used in home theater, I have seen that the new EPSON EB-L570U greatly reduces them; Rec709 color coverage, 10 bits color processor, 4K pro enhancement, HDR10, dyn. contrast 2,500,000:1, V+H lens shift, large throw ratio, low noise, Laser Ph. The drawback that can be made is that, although the luminosity can be reduced from the original 5200 lum to 3500 lum, it is still too much for a dark HT. Since you cannot adjust the iris manually, I thought that using an ND filter could reduce the brightness considerably. We would have to try it and see how it performs in HT, since it costs half the price of the L12000 and is much smaller and also has a media player.
I recently upgraded my projector (Optoma HD28E) to a newer model OPTOMA 4K400STX, wow what a difference! Movies and games are much more fun! The speed which the projector responds in games is amazing! and I bought a 120" ALR screen with a gain of 0.8, (4000 lumens from 40" distance is too much)
Best projector education I’ve gotten from UA-cam yet. Thanks for making this video. What do you recommend for a a 17ft. throw and 10 ft. wide wall space? Looking to build 4k home theatre set up with option for fast-paced casual gaming.
I had a business where I designed, sold and installed home movie theaters. With the appearance of flat led screens and wireless surround sound, projectors went to the wayside. You can buy a 90 inch 4K LED screen with perfect image, color and definition and sound for about 2K instead of spending 10 to 20K for a movie theater set up with a projector.
which do you recommend? I am living on a 1 bedroom apartment and I only have 2.80m from the wall to my couch, I have a good blinds where I can black out the light from outside
Great info! Looking for a recommendation! I'm in a band that has a 6 foot diameter scrim in the back that we want to put video onto. Room will be mostly dark. Projector will be truss mounted. Ideally we want a 12 to 14 foot distance throw. The projector we have now starts to be in focus at 17 feet away but we need to be closer. Trying to accomplish something like Pink Floyd on a small scale. Lag is not important. True color is not important. Most important is at least 6 feet high from 12 to 14 feet away. Thoughts?
Awesome video and channel! Do you have a list of all of your recommendations somewhere? I'm in some severe analysis paralysis at the moment haha! Throw distance is really throwing me for a loop too - got 9ft of distance, want 120" picture, but not sure what's ideal for picture quality / brightness
Excellent video as usual.. Really hoping you could do some reviews on the new Benq Projectors that have been released in the last month or so.. If and when possible. Thank you
Hey Chris, it would be awesome if you could make another best of projector under 1000 video. They would probably be full hd but it's fine. I don't consume any 4k content anyway.
Love the video. What would you recommend for a barndo with almost unlimited space for the size of the screen? Mostly for football games when we have people over, so there will be natural light in the barn.
I have a media room upstairs. I can close the blinds in the windows and it has 8 foot ceilings trying to decide between short throw or long throw in with under 1000 budget
My initial projector was a basic 720p budget toy projector (first category) that performed well in complete darkness. Lately, I acquired a projector that falls between the first and second categories, offering native 1080p resolution and supporting screen sizes up to 200 inches. I obtained a 150-inch screen for this projector, which works splendidly. Remarkably, the 1080p projector surpasses the visual quality of my old 720p projector. Based on my projector experience, they excel in low light conditions, remaining somewhat challenging to view at dawn. However, as dawn concludes, the visuals become amazing. I now understand why my parents preferred a large TV over a projector. Setting up a TV requires less time and effort compared to a projector. After evaluating our entertainment room, we concluded that an 85-inch TV would suffice. We are seeking an upgrade because my previous 55-inch TV recently died.
I am in the same dilemma right now. I have a small apartment but i want a home theater experience. Been researching and concluded that a high quality TV will be better than a Laser projector. An 85 Tv will do.
great videos i got the nebula capsule 3 b/c of your review!! it’s amazing i was wondering when/if your gonna get a chance to review the benq v5000i (whenever it’s released)
Hey Chris, love your projector reviews, thanks for doing them. I got mine years ago after watching your review for optoma gt1080. Any plans on reviewing xgimi ultra horizon ultra 4k projector?
Hello Chris! I’m in a dilemma and would like your expert opinion on this. So your help would be greatly appreciated. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I’m stuck between choosing an upscale projector for my purpose built home theatre room with an approximate projection size of 180-190 inches. It’s come down to two shortlised products in the same price catagory. Between the BENQ LK935 and EPSON LS12000B which would you recommend for a dark home theatre room. While the BENQ has higher Lumens and black ratio, it’s been listed on the official website as a conference room projector. While EPSON is marketing their product as a home theatre solution specific for content watching. What would you recommend since it’s quite an expensive investment and I don’t want to buy a product which won’t satisfy my requirements. Thanks a ton and always appreciate your quality content :))
This is an awesome video. I’m still trying to find a good outdoor projector for my daughter and I to play games and watch movies. I’m overwhelmed by the options. Anyone have a preference? We used to have an Epson but it died on us last year.
I feel like *does it fit in the actual room* is absolutely number one LOL. I managed to find a house with a theater room where there's like six projectors of any kind and any budget to pick from. Even a projector budget of thirty thousand bucks can't overcome physics. 😄
I use my projector and 100" screen as a rear projection for my theatrical productions and illusion shows. - James D. Watkins, artistic director of PHOENIX PRODUCTIONS.

Thanks for the info. So I would like to purchase a projector that's mobile, however it will be used most of the time in my bedroom. Do I have to have a projector that has apps already installed or can I use my laptop? One more question Can I connect my Apple TV to a projector?
What projector under 250ish would be best for sitting on the roof of my car running off a 300w inverter so I can watch movies during my lunchtime? Aiming at a white ish cinderblock wall at night as I work nightshift
Aloha Chris, i have a proper ceiling mounted Epson projector and a 127in screen 20ft away. I use a Roku plugged into a soundbar that sit on a high shelf behind me right next to the project. My problem is the main audio comes from behind me. Dialog from movies muddy and hard to understand. I often put on subtitles. Is there anyway to get low latency speakers in front of me wirelessly? Not willing Running cables all over my living room. Cheers, Po
Im new to this. Can you connect your pc from your office in the house to your projector in your bedroom for example? which if any would allow you to streamcast like this?
Looking for a projector to watch sports at my bar. It’s for outdoor daytime to watch sports. What do you recommend for best value with a TV like HD picture?
Thanks for making these projector videos! I'm trying to find a projector that can do a 20ft throw onto a 120" screen for around the $2k mark, which seems to be a somewhat difficult spec to find based on my research so far. I have no wiggle room based on the room size and configuration unfortunately. Can't be a TV either. If you have any recommendations I'm all ears!
What projector would you recommend for out doors use only? Doesn't have to be only battery operated as we have a plug. Looking for something easy to setup and take down when we have guest over. Not to pricey but decent quality.
Hello Chris ! Thanks for your videos, I'm discovering projectors and it's very helping ! I would like the best projector for less than 1500€, a ratio of 1,5 or less with zoom if possible, not too noisy and color accuracy I don't play competitive game on it, but I will play games and watch movies I made a comparative list (that I could share you if your intersted but constructor lies on their information as you probably know) and for now I have : the Optoma UHD38x, the LG HU710PW, the Epson EH-TW7000, the Acer H6815BD, the Viewsonic x11 4k, the BenQ Tk700sti and finally the BenQ w2700
I’m looking for one that will work with a small screen maybe like 50-75 inch. We’re placing it at the end of the bed so we don’t have a lot of distance to work with either. What do you suggest
thank you very much for this review, please, what would you recommend for a play on stage so that that the actors can go in front of the screen, I looked for laser projector, but unfortunately you can not go in front of it, as I understand the laser projector has a protection and not allow it.We have a room in front of the stage about 80m2. Thanks
Excuse me i have a very bright room with a lot of windows. So direct sunlight what projector do you suggest i should get, my budget is around 1500 euro. I have no ability to make the room dark so bright image during sunlight is a must. Van you propose 2 models one classical and one laster which of the is the best?
We plan on using it outside in the yard at night . I think I would go with the battery one with netflix built in so I don't have to haul the laptop. But , the router is way off and won't catch a signal , shit 😢
Do you have a suggestion for a good projector. my heads spinning with so many options. 10x12 foot room no windows 100% darkness I just want a 90-100 inch screen. Only for movies or tv $600 or less just not a traditional hot bulb. If you were me what would you get?
Bought a Epson 3200 based on your reviews a couple of years ago ( and have been really happy with it. Thanks!) and I was wondering if a switch to a PX1 Pro and 0.4 alr lenticular screen would actually be that much of an upgrade picture quality and brightness ? I sit around 9 feet away in a light controlled living room but mainly use it for gaming and movies at night.
Hi @chrismajestic i have been watching your videos and next month i am travelling for vacation and finally i am going to buy a projector. My only big concern the fan noise. Formovie theater is my first option, second Awol 2500. But i have checked several blogs and it is like if you are 3 meters (9 feet) far from the projector, the noise would be noticeable like an AC fan. Some people say that sometimes is annoying. So what would you recommend it as the lowest fan noise on ultra short throw projectors? Thanks in advance!!!
I plan to put a projector outside where our pool is. I want a screen on one wall of the lanai and a projector that we cast movies. Primarily played in evening or night. Any top suggestions? (Budget $1000 -$1500)
Hey Chris, In your opinion is the Hisense PX1-Pro for $1,899 a better buy then the Foremovie at $2,999? How much better is the Foremovie? Will I miss out on much? Thanks!
At $1900 I think the PX1 pro is a steal. The Formovie has better blacks, contrast, and color but not worth an $1100 premium over the Hisense. Are you sure it was a PX1 pro and not a PX1?
@@ChrisMajesticThe px1 has almost identical specs though minus some brightness. Have you any experience with the px1 non pro version? Ive seen a few for 1500 dollars but im torn between that and the bomaker polaris which is also only 1500.. Hisense is a more known brand but heard the polaris has hisense parts
Hey Chris, I love your content, can you please make a video about mini projectors under 300 dollors with a secreen size of 70 inches & a throw distance of 6-8 feet, so that i could lay down on my bed and have the projector screen at the end of my bed and enjoy my movies and games. thanks buddy...
What is the 2023 replacement for the optoma gt1080hdr - I dont want to go long throw or ultra short throw but im looking for a little more detail and contrast in the image...???
Ceiling - 3.5m. the projector could be placed in a distance of 1m-2.5m from the ceiling. Ceiling is colored white, but during use, the room will be 90% dark (no lights). It's mostly used for programming, so words/letters should be well seen. Which projector model do you recommend of?
Hello, I have about 4-5 meters to the wall and would like a good first projector for movies and some casual gaming for 100-120" screen. Budget is about 1500 USD, what do you think about Optoma UHZ45 ?
I bought the Epson 1080 about a year ago and still absolutely love it. Straight up 1080p image, which at 120in is REALLY good, and the brightness in daylight is comparable to a tv. Didn't have to break the bank, hands down so glad I went with it rather than a big tv.
Which 1080 version u got?
@lucasbeauchemin9671 The 1080 right now is 750 and you can select the buy over 5 months plan and pay only 150 bucks a month

Hello great video. Is there a projector you can recommend if i just want to play it on a wall without a screen for a workout area in my basement.
Looking for a projector to watch sports at my bar. It’s for outdoor daytime to watch sports. What do you recommend for best value with a TV like HD picture?
What projecter would you recommend for watching tv
Are you going to be able to get ahold of a Hisense PX2 Pro? I’d love to hear your comparison with the PX1 and the Formovie - I trust your reviews!
It’s in the works
Thanks for making these projector videos! I'm trying to find a projector that can do a 20ft throw onto a 120" screen for around the $2k mark, which seems to be a somewhat difficult spec to find based on my research so far. I have no wiggle room based on the room size and configuration unfortunately. Can't be a TV either. If you have any recommendations I'm all ears!
Epson should be able to do it. Either the 5050ub or the ls11000
@ChrisMajestic Right on. Thanks for the reply!
I’d be interested in your updated version of this video if it’s in the works.
I would like the best projector for less than 1500€, a ratio of 1,5 or less with zoom if possible, not too noisy and color accuracy
I don't play competitive game on it, but I will play games and watch movies
I made a comparative list (that I could share you if your intersted but constructor lies on their information as you probably know) and for now I have :
the Optoma UHD38x, the LG HU710PW, the Epson EH-TW7000, the Acer H6815BD, the Viewsonic x11 4k, the BenQ Tk700sti and finally the BenQ w2700
I’m looking for one that will work with a small screen maybe like 50-75 inch. We’re placing it at the end of the bed so we don’t have a lot of distance to work with either. What do you suggest
very cool and helpful video
What home theatre projector do you recommend at the 700-1200 price range?
Can you test the Bomaker Polaris? Really tempted to get it but wish i knew how it compares to the hisense px1
what about a projector for a pub or bar that is bright during the day and dark at night for sports?
What do you recommend for a bedroom. I need to throw on ceiling. Looking for small projection 32”

thank you very much for this review, please, what would you recommend for a play on stage so that that the actors can go in front of the screen, I looked for laser projector, but unfortunately you can not go in front of it, as I understand the laser projector has a protection and not allow it.We have a room in front of the stage about 80m2.
I want to buy a projector specially for outdoors. I want it to play in some daylight. Can you help me choose one that will meet my needs?
are there any projectors where you can hook up your computer, ps5 or dvd player?
Looking for a projector that would be the best for live sports. It will be in a business building so there will be some sky lights. Any suggestions?
What are the best projector to connect to a Sonos beam with no delay?
Bought a Epson 3200 based on your reviews a couple of years ago ( and have been really happy with it. Thanks!) and I was wondering if a switch to a PX1 Pro and 0.4 alr lenticular screen would actually be that much of an upgrade picture quality and brightness ? I sit around 9 feet away in a light controlled living room but mainly use it for gaming and movies at night.
I think that’s a great upgrade that you’d be happy with
Hi @chrismajestic i have been watching your videos and next month i am travelling for vacation and finally i am going to buy a projector.
@@ChrisMajestichey man what’s rgb bar on your gaming rig

What do you think about the xgimi mogo pro 3
Thanks! Very informative and educational :D in conclusion, I'll just stick to my TV lol
what should i get for my room if its usually very dark and i just need a cheap one for tv or the best cheapest one
Where is the link you mentioned to the "toy" category projector video?
thank you man
What is the 2023 replacement for the optoma gt1080hdr - I dont want to go long throw or ultra short throw but im looking for a little more detail and contrast in the image...???
please get your hands on ust BenQ V5000i & do a review 🙏🏼…
What are your thoughts on the PVO mini projector and the Heyup boxe mini projector?
Ceiling - 3.5m.
the projector could be placed in a distance of 1m-2.5m from the ceiling.
Ceiling is colored white, but during use, the room will be 90% dark (no lights).
It's mostly used for programming, so words/letters should be well seen.
Which projector model do you recommend of?
Hello, I have about 4-5 meters to the wall and would like a good first projector for movies and some casual gaming for 100-120" screen. Budget is about 1500 USD, what do you think about Optoma UHZ45 ?
