So good to observe...I never can be reminded enough of how “The Knife” is always moving...Isolate and Defang or Stay Away. ;>

I see too many "stick fighters" willing to get hit, which is a bad habit if you're preparing for blade work. If you put a long blade in their hands, they would not be as recklessly aggressive ... they would manage the range better and "defang the snake" BEFORE "head hunting". It looks like fun, but it's a bit sloppy.

Training goals matter. The idea that the rattan is to be imagined as a sword is really up to the practitioner. Also, the real issue is that not enough people spar and so they remain in the imagined world of form and technique without resistance and adversity. -GN

@@ApertureFightFocused The same can be said about any other martial art. That's why Bruce Lee referred to any martial arts training without any sort of contact or resistance as "dry land swimming".

if you think you can get into a fight and come out without getting hit "especially with a weapon", then your living an illusion. i'm a trained martial artist and i know this isn't possible unless the person your fighting has no intention of hurting you or their completely inept.

Excelente, nessas horas muitas coisas treinadas não funcionam, essa é a hora da verdade. E só vai funcionar o que gosto de chamar de Trindade: Tempo, Espaço e Energia!!!

For those commenting on sloppy techniques, maybe you aren't used to full-contact sparring.

Yeah, for sure. When the danger is increased, good form and actual fighting ability goes out the window. Everyone knows that!
