      I was one of the white belts in there. João went for nearly 4 straight hours. Only stopped between rounds occasionally to sip water or tie his belt. There were a lot of fit guys over 200 lbs. Even with the skill disparity, going that long against constantly fresh opponents, many who are semi-skilled...It was by far the greatest physical feat I've seen in person. Respect.

After doing a seminar he had everyone line up while he stood in the middle of the mat and took turns rolling with everybody with no breaks like this video. This was like in 2010s when he was world champion. It was a treat to learn and roll with him and of course he beat everyone. Very humble guy. I still like the spider guard because of him. 🤙🏼

    This reminds me of the shark tanks we go through during belt promotions: a certain number of minutes based on promotion level (blue belts 20 minutes, purples 30 minutes, browns 45 minutes, black belts 1 hour) with a new opponent every minute. They are awesome experiences showing us how much we can endure and how our skills kick in automatically.

    If anyone has trained jiu jitsu u know that even 5 sparrings sometimes are so insanely hard. (5x5 25 minutes of straight full on cardio). he didnt theoretically spar with everyone for 5 minutes, but for 50 people to come in fresh, and to finish 50 people in a row is insane. Even when youre a higher belt u know that muscular spazy white belts sometimes give u the hardest (cardio, not tehnical) sparings because they are wildin. That dude is elite black belt.

      I was 2 of the rounds out of 50. I have never seen a display of stamina and grit like Joao put on. He rolled for 3+ straight hours. Granted, some of the participants were small females and/or brand new white belts, many others were fit 200+ lb men who are 3-4 stripe white belts with police and military experience. It truly was the spectrum of everyday people, some big, some small, completely unskilled or nearly blue belt level game. He matched everyone's energy and demonstrated the power of BJJ. Dude is an elite human being with a heart that won't quit. As they say, it was a Huge Honor to see this.

      @@christopherpakney8542 Its plain crazy. Im a brown belt myself, Ive sparred crazy strong white belts and that isnt always a walk in the park if dude has 70-100 lbs on you. They are unpredictable, strong and spazzy, and they certinely dont act what youre used on lol, with a colored belt you at least know what they could do and what to expect, white belt doesnt know himself what he wants to do lmao. They dont pose a threat to finish you, but you will use a certain threshhold of your cardio for sure. But all in all if I do 6-7 hard sparrings im toast and tired, and thats with people who also did them. This dude took a fresh person after fresh person while he took no breaks. Insane.

    Amazing conent! But as a white belt myself, this is a time challenge against a tired Black belt. I'd just choose not to attack and just use my defence to survive and try beat a time. I aint going in there trying to get take downs and subs on a 3 stripe black belt lol but good effort and experience for the white belts! Great video!

    Joao is going pretty easy on these white belts, while also maintaining incredible technique, positioning, and control. Still, even at what looks like maybe 50% for him, doing 50 rounds and wins back-to-back is a testament to his endurance, any-which-way.

    For white belts who wanna use rubber guard or rubber guard type frames to prevent passes. You must bring your knee as high as possible so the flex/ pressure is on your hip joint vs knee joints. Try it with no partner and look to get the stretch on your hip/ high femur area any pressure on your knee means your doing it wrong. you’ll put lateral pressure on your knee popping it which means damaging ligaments that hold your knee together…. My knee still slides outta place as brown belt after having a knee pop as a blue belt . Lose ligaments are common among females her injury might not be permanent.

    The most used submission techniques were:
    1- kimura
    2- foot lock and heel hook
    3- armbar
    4- chokes
    So if these were the most used techniques for a black belt guy, I think it would be very beneficial for beginners to focus on them from different poaitions for quick improvement.

    • @siavosh87
      @siavosh87 Рік тому +6

      Not really. There is a difference between what a black belt would choose to use for a submission to conserve as much energy as possible, and what a white belt should focus on. A white belt shouldn’t focus on any of these things, rather a white belt should focus on pin escapes and submission escapes first, before even going on to try and master any submissions.
