With the new update 0.148.6 you can't Harpoon Bosses anymore... - Harpoon does not work on bosses anymore - So you'll need to guide the boss for the "trap" you made...
They really need to boost his damage. When I fought him, I just face tanked everything except the laser beam without health getting very low during the fight (had best food buffs possible)
just did this fight the other day. One thing I've got about 80% confirmed is that Yagluth actually has weak points in the glowing area in his ribs. You can deal some pretty massive hits with both frost arrows and the sword if you can properly target that area. Very solid guide!

Thanks for this, i solo'd the fight using the "normal" way. Important tip: When he rises his left arm, he fires TWO volleys of meteors. If you stop after avoiding the first one, the second one will get you.
I love clearing out Fuling villages, most fun in the game. Clear any deathsquitos, agro as few fulings as poss - generally about 3 but the first one you can stealth hit and get him half down. Let them run in to hit you, run back. then forwards with a double sword swing. do that twice with a silver sword and they're dead. you can walk around avoiding them, only run if they swing at you. For the beserkers, just run and shoot with decent arrows. Takes a while but lots of fun. I have a couple stacks of the totems :D

Awesome. I fought him yesterday for a bit with no prior knowledge and got absolutely melted. Lol I fully maxed out the Blackmetal Atgeir and made about 500 needle arrows and was so sure I was going to get some good hits in. I was bummed when my arrows were doing like 11 damage! I'm making some fire resist potions and I have the Blackmetal Sword maxed now, so I'm hoping this fight goes a lot better. Thanks for the tips!
@@ClassicRollPlayer Atgeir is my favorite too. Hard to beat the AoE stun and poking range. It just sucks against Yagluth as he is super resistance to pierce.
@@pfunkle dude he killed me like 4 times... hardest boss yet by far. I finally found that the frost hammer did way more damage ( I was trying the black metal sword ) ... it was rough.
In my opinion they should not have given him the ability to regenerate health, it just makes a fun boss a chore to fight now, as so many things can go wrong during this fight ie a deathskito sneaks in behind you and kills you after you have been fighting the boss for 20 minutes and now you have to start all over.
I got 2 tar pits nearby that I didn't notice initially. Ended up fighting growths and occasionally some other monsters as well, while being constantly attacked by the boss. By the time rest buff wearied off and I died, I only managed to reduce about 10% of boss hp, because I barely had the opportunity to fight him )
u have to clear everything first near u thats the thing u have to do since bonemass otherwise its pretty hard to do any boss before clearing the alter area first pretty common sense
Maxed out silver sword does more damage than the black metal sword on him, he's undead. Charge in there with Bonemass forsaken power and you'll kill him easily.
@@pecoliky8793 at this stage of the game, Bonemass is the only decent forsaken power you have...so you get some protection from the physical. Add in a fire resistance potion as well.

We finished the game with my friend yesterday and the altar was literally right next to an outpost with 1-star berserkers, more than 10 fulings and a shaman. They all heard the sounds and walked to the fight, and it became a mess. We died, well... over 6 times and had to clear the outpost before killing the boss, MID FIGHT. Really frustrating and sad to deal with, but then we had the chance to fight the boss face-to-face, and we ended it all. I'm really excited for future updates to see what is going to take place for the placeholder. The new crafting table could be awesome, but since you can't do much with the moder tear, they might expand that crafting table further and make the placeholder a game-ender item to place somewhere to get the credits rolling.
He is susceptible to spirit damage. So silver arrows and silver mace work better. You can also parry the knockback which helps a lot. So silver mace and melee are the quickest way. Also if you are in underneath him while he does flame breath and move with him, you will not take damage. So you can parry the knockback and ignore the flame breath and then run away from the meteors. If you run right up to him when he spawns you can get a few hits in before he does any abilities.
That was before the update you see in the video gameplay, he has since been updated with double the health, immune to poison, much higher resistance to pirceing damage and fire.
@@ESOdanny right, but none of the changes you mentioned involve spirit or blunt damage which the silver mace deals. So it looks like the silver mace us the most effective melee weapon to use against this boss.
Was hoping this would come out before I fought him lol. Good video though. I used Porcupine and Draugr Fang with frost arrows the first time, second I used Frostner which was considerably faster. I also started the melee attacks the moment he was coming out of the ground. Melee feels like its so much faster/easier than using a bow. His right-hand aoe attack don't hurt too bad if you block it. You can also run at a diagonal towards him while he is doing his breath attack, when he is finished you are close enough to start melee attacks again. Agreed this is a pretty easy fight.
I found all 4 bosses within 2 islands from one another and all had rune spawn locators close to one another.... Super lucky map seed for me. Most of my islands have at least 3 biomes together so gathering is rather easy...
For me this was SOOO much harder than he makes it look. I had all the dopest gear, food and potions along with the Bonemass ability. I also cleared the entire area before to reduce mobs during the boss fight but they still came in packs every now and then and usually at the worst possible time. 2 of the fingers were surrounded by water so I couldn’t really use them AND his attacks destroyed the remaining ones. I had to use massive boulders that were close by and he completely destroyed that one of those as well. I did pretty much everything this video instructs but he doesn’t mention that this boss corners you next to the pillar so you have a hard time escaping without eating up whatever stamina is left. I died 4 times and teleported home 2 additional times to rest and repair weapons. For me it was considerably harder than Bonemass. Now what to do? Build I guess...
Only guide to mention the central altar as indestructible cover. Yagluth is very easy to beat as his breath attack will never aim through the altar, allowing you to conserve stamina for the meteors and dpsing through the fist slam
dude i literally popped a fire potion, bonemass skill, and stood infront of him and swung Frostner, and used health/stamina pots when needed. he was the easiest boss, and im kinda mad that the lsat boss was so damn easy.
yeah its actually frustrating he regenerates super fast so shooting him with frost arrows is not worth it anymore, plus my summoning place is close to two tar pits(where that spawns tar) and it spawns enemies, I'm getting slowed, poisoned, lightning, fired, and also getting blunt damage, he is extremely hard to kill
Thanks Good video ..I have been searching for a locator stone for the plains boss for over 60 in game days! Haha found a lot of cool spots to build stuff so I get distracted sometimes but I cannot find this guy for the life of me . I have about 86 falling totems haha so when I find this boss I will kill him 60 times for making me wait so long . ( I have tried the snatch and go for the totems but I can't stop myself from clearing each village ) if you run up a tower and toss ooze bombs it helps until the shaman shoot fire at ya . Or find a tar pit and lure those little blobs into a village. It helps clear it easier
Man this boss was the easiest. I dug water around him and he was stuck on his island and wouldn’t leave. Just stood there shooting him with arrows. He walked around in circles and never trigged any attacks. Dude seemed bugged.
Thanks so much for all your Valheim videos. Now I want to share something folks might enjoy. I've found a world seed that gives plentiful access to all the beginning resources you'll ever use. Plenty of flint, an abundance of berry bushes, an area where deer and boar are frequently present, an area with lots of stone, and at least two bee hives that I know of. World seed: Atmora
I went into this fight blind as a bat all I knew was black metal sword and fire resistance mead is essential. And it really is helps to have all the best foods as well so you can ultimately just tank his fire damage
The stone columns (fingers) around his spawn point are NOT indestructible (his attacks crumble them, eventually causing them to completely fall apart)... good way to get stone? Thanks for the video.
I popped bonemass with all the buffs and frostner with skill of 75 got him to half hp but he never did the laser thing and yea meteorites were the only thing I was carefull of
The ads in my boss area make the fight like 9x harder than necessary 🤣 My alter is surrounded by like 5 tar pits... I found that out mid fight. Gonna have to go back to the prep stage lol
As of today's patch you can no longer use the harpoon on bosses anymore. Which makes your trap part of this video, no longer viable. Update if possible please. 😉👍

Killed him yesterday Had no idea how he fights or how he looks Went in with the blackmetal sword because I heard its good against him but no fire resistance potions Got murdered in 3 seconds with over 200 HP since I knew nothing Teleported back took my stuff died again immediately before I could equipt my armor Teleported back in fought him for a whole then aggrod a random fuling and a lox and had to deal with them and then died because I wasn't patient with the healing potion cool down Went in the 4th time and killed him finally I think the game is a bit too forgiving by leaving the boss at its current hp and not healing them up to max The fight wasn't that fun but hey at least it was genuine which I really want as a first experience
thanks for the guide. i think ill try to find those firling outposts and maybe a camp before i try this boss legitimately. i should have enough black metal from the camps to make an upgraded sword.

Fought him blind for the first time the other day. Died like 8 times due to learning his moves and random mobs interrupting.... Figured out that he's pretty easy even without the stone pillars or the invulnerable alter, I actually rather kill him in an open area once I got comfortable and killed him a few more times. Tactic is pretty much have fire res up, dodge roll his ground slam to avoid the blunt hit and tank the fire DoTs and smack him. When he meteors, if you run a slightly wide circle around yag youL dodge them fully then get back in and smack. As long as you're close to him he doesnt use his fire breath, only damage you should be taking is the weak fire damage from his ground slam. Manage stamina and its pretty easy, also no point having a shield up so just pull your sword out and get that 5% increased movement lol.
fought him solo for the first time today as I've been putting him off and destroyed the pillars of stone before i summoned him for the stone, still managed to kill him with 200 frost arrows, draugr fang fully upgraded + 50 wood arrows to finish him + a few slashes with the sword and axe. wasn't that difficult a fight with potions, fire resis. and fully upgraded padded armour. just had to dodge and use the terrain for cover. never went below 140 health during the whole fight which i did in pretty much one go

Can we see a guide on how to farm serpents? They've done something to the harpoon that makes stamina go down even tho you're just sitting on the boat while holding the serpent
having issues with this boss, boss area is in a small island, I'm so dumb that i decided to built my main base in the same island, my main issue is that i'm not just fighting the boss, I got to deal with mosquitos, lox, tar pits and the annoying goblins, all of them at the same time its such a pain, now i'm scared that he might destroy my main base, what its really painful its walking back to my body to recover my things, mosquitos are just fucking with me :(
I think they are all easy to kill with the bow. The sneakbonus in combo with the Draugr and frost or needle arrows giving huge critical damage and they often die instandly with the first shot and If you are far enough away then they are not coming for you because they don´t know where the arrow came from, so they just run around like headless chicken then you can wait till he/they calms down again (if they survive the first shot) or you directly attack another still standing enemy... I think there are four distances.... 1 very close : they can hear and see you (enemy hp visible) 2 close enough so that they can see you (still visible) 3 not so close that they can´t see you (hp not visible) but they know where the arrow came from and they coming for you slowley till they can see you and then they start to run... 4 so far away that they even can´t guess where the arrow came from, they start to search for you around a small area where they were standingjust befor the arrow hits.
I think that berserkers come after you no matter what. I have blasted down villages at number 4, where they don’t find me, but the berserkers tend to. Maybe they are out of max render range past that.
Like all bosses in my playthrough; I prepped with no help from other sources of information. I thought this boss was going to be difficult but it ended up being the easiest. All I needed was the best armor, frostner, shield, bonemass ability, and fire resist potions. When he did the AOE attack, block the initial blast with a shield and then keep attacking. When he summons fireballs, use him as cover by getting under him and keep on attacking. When he breaths fire, just run around left or right to dodge.
if you didn't consult outside info, how did you know to make fire resist potions? Did you get lucky using Frostner too? Or just assumed the resist potion made with Barley was for the final boss. I maxed out my pierce damage weapons and Yagluth was a bad surprise... x)
@@pfunkle if you payed attention to the other bosses, there was a pattern of needing whatever resistant potion you could make at that time. I ended up taking every resistant potion i had (just in case) . I also brought multiple weapons with me as I knew certain enemies were vulnerably to certain weapon types. I remember taking every type of arrow as well which done nothing as well as setting up damage traps and trenches/dirt towers. Its all in the preperation my dude
not that some people get the wrong idea. if you want to kill him with bows. he did it with bowskill at 100. so you will do not that much damage with bows. i just killed him meelee. with bonemass buff and fire res postion his meelee attack is kind of useless against you. just ate a serpent stew, blood pudding and this lox soup... forgot the name.
I wonder, you didn't put down any campfires or anything preventing enemy spawn... I had countless Deathsquito's and Fuling's bothering me when I tried this.
So I just tried this, the harpoon bounced of the his head, I hit him 4 times with it, my skill level went up, but it never tethered him and he just destroyed everything, he was unkillable with arrows as his healing rate was faster than the damage I could do to him! I don' think this works anymore?
We found Yagluth without the boss location rune, though it's on a planes next to water so no digging can be done, but I bet the water will get rid of fire.
It adds resistance to fire. The first one i found was near a river. Didnt have fire resist pots but I ran into the water a bunch for the buff. One thing to note is the fire acts like it does at home. It quickly evaporates the water so you lose the wet buff quickly.
Apparently ESO is a bossing GOD because my buddy and I just went in and tried to kill Yag last night. Took us well over 2 hours. We kept dying to other mobs, the persistent fire attacks, tar debuffs, even a fuling berzerker showed up. Yag destroyed the fingers and you can't hide behind them like ESO says because he will destroy them with all of his attacks very quickly. The most useful thing is the actual summoning altar because he can't shoot fire breath through it. The only thing that worked for us was popping bonemass power, running up and blasting him with two frostners at once, and just tanking all his damage with health potions and fire res mead. Also the best food in the game. This is NOT an easy fight the first time you do it. Maybe with a ton of practice, but don't expect to just shit on it like he did. Better off doing the cheese method
I dug a giant hole that he fell in. Then I could not reach him so I fell in too lol. Most his attacks didn't even hit me so I just went full ham on him in the pit. Bring fire resistance and stamina potions.
easiest way to kill yag boss without armor and food just only silver sword.. 1st build bed nearby.. atk him dont afraid to die..spawn anyway get your stuff with CORPSE RUN buff. then tank him till death. repeat..
You must have a different game. I thought would be easy. Played ring around the rosey. Got some knocks in. Then the entire complex started taking damage and basically no rock was cover for long. since it was going on and on goblins and lox kept spawning. and skitters. which all seemed immune to all this shit. He healed while I was dealing with the adds. and by this time there is no where to really hide. He's got to have some trick of some kind
yea they changed him alot lol . i tried about everything he does his attacks alot faster in real game now then he use to . the time between attack are like 3 sec
Personally I found the bow to be far too weak worth using. Fully upgrading your padded armor, black metal sword to lvl 3, fire potion & healing potions is all you need. Literally tank 'n spank the boss through his slam & avoid the meteors is as easy as it gets. He never used his breath attack while I was close so no need to worry about that.

This video is outdated. Harpooning doesnt work due to a fix in a previous patch.
Also if you like these creators you should encourage more creative video ideas it helps them get paid more. This isn’t a free job.

Been killed 5 or 6 times so far and not close to defeating it. Hardest boss I've faced so far and it's getting very frustrating.

You can still trap him in a hole if you try hard enough

Man this boss was the easiest. I dug water around him and he was stuck on his island and wouldn’t leave. Just stood there shooting him with arrows. He walked around in circles and never trigged any attacks. Dude seemed bugged.
Hes been updated in this video to have more resistance tweaks, so is immune to silver and has been given double the HP.
Not sure if cheesing a game mechanic would count as "easy".

Thanks so much for all your Valheim videos. Now I want to share something folks might enjoy. I've found a world seed that gives plentiful access to all the beginning resources you'll ever use. Plenty of flint, an abundance of berry bushes, an area where deer and boar are frequently present, an area with lots of stone, and at least two bee hives that I know of.

I went into this fight blind as a bat all I knew was black metal sword and fire resistance mead is essential. And it really is helps to have all the best foods as well so you can ultimately just tank his fire damage
use frostner! the tick damage adds up nicely.

Harpoons don't work on bosses anymore, but otherwise great guide. I haven't got this far yet.
The stone columns (fingers) around his spawn point are NOT indestructible (his attacks crumble them, eventually causing them to completely fall apart)... good way to get stone? Thanks for the video.

I popped bonemass with all the buffs and frostner with skill of 75 got him to half hp but he never did the laser thing and yea meteorites were the only thing I was carefull of
The ads in my boss area make the fight like 9x harder than necessary 🤣
My alter is surrounded by like 5 tar pits... I found that out mid fight. Gonna have to go back to the prep stage lol

As of today's patch you can no longer use the harpoon on bosses anymore. Which makes your trap part of this video, no longer viable. Update if possible please. 😉👍

Killed him yesterday
Had no idea how he fights or how he looks
Went in with the blackmetal sword because I heard its good against him but no fire resistance potions
Got murdered in 3 seconds with over 200 HP since I knew nothing
Teleported back took my stuff died again immediately before I could equipt my armor
Teleported back in fought him for a whole then aggrod a random fuling and a lox and had to deal with them and then died because I wasn't patient with the healing potion cool down
Went in the 4th time and killed him finally
I think the game is a bit too forgiving by leaving the boss at its current hp and not healing them up to max
The fight wasn't that fun but hey at least it was genuine which I really want as a first experience
lol forgiving that never happened to me boss keeps healing had to use god mode to continue game.

Fought him blind for the first time the other day. Died like 8 times due to learning his moves and random mobs interrupting.... Figured out that he's pretty easy even without the stone pillars or the invulnerable alter, I actually rather kill him in an open area once I got comfortable and killed him a few more times.
Tactic is pretty much have fire res up, dodge roll his ground slam to avoid the blunt hit and tank the fire DoTs and smack him. When he meteors, if you run a slightly wide circle around yag youL dodge them fully then get back in and smack. As long as you're close to him he doesnt use his fire breath, only damage you should be taking is the weak fire damage from his ground slam. Manage stamina and its pretty easy, also no point having a shield up so just pull your sword out and get that 5% increased movement lol.
Found yagluths spawn without locator 2 mins from plains base, was great
fought him solo for the first time today as I've been putting him off and destroyed the pillars of stone before i summoned him for the stone, still managed to kill him with 200 frost arrows, draugr fang fully upgraded + 50 wood arrows to finish him + a few slashes with the sword and axe. wasn't that difficult a fight with potions, fire resis. and fully upgraded padded armour. just had to dodge and use the terrain for cover. never went below 140 health during the whole fight which i did in pretty much one go

having issues with this boss, boss area is in a small island, I'm so dumb that i decided to built my main base in the same island, my main issue is that i'm not just fighting the boss, I got to deal with mosquitos, lox, tar pits and the annoying goblins, all of them at the same time its such a pain, now i'm scared that he might destroy my main base, what its really painful its walking back to my body to recover my things, mosquitos are just fucking with me :(
May as well just create another seed and port your mats to that one
I think they are all easy to kill with the bow. The sneakbonus in combo with the Draugr and frost or needle arrows giving huge critical damage and they often die instandly with the first shot and If you are far enough away then they are not coming for you because they don´t know where the arrow came from, so they just run around like
headless chicken then you can wait till he/they calms down again (if they survive the first shot) or you directly attack another still standing enemy...
I think there are four distances....
1 very close : they can hear and see you (enemy hp visible)
2 close enough so that they can see you (still visible)
3 not so close that they can´t see you (hp not visible) but they know where the arrow came from and they coming for you slowley till they can see you and then they start to run...
4 so far away that they even can´t guess where the arrow came from, they start to search for you around a small area where they were standingjust befor the arrow hits.
I think that berserkers come after you no matter what. I have blasted down villages at number 4, where they don’t find me, but the berserkers tend to. Maybe they are out of max render range past that.

Literally found the locator stone first thing as i entered the plains for the first time XD
Like all bosses in my playthrough; I prepped with no help from other sources of information. I thought this boss was going to be difficult but it ended up being the easiest. All I needed was the best armor, frostner, shield, bonemass ability, and fire resist potions.
When he did the AOE attack, block the initial blast with a shield and then keep attacking. When he summons fireballs, use him as cover by getting under him and keep on attacking. When he breaths fire, just run around left or right to dodge.
if you didn't consult outside info, how did you know to make fire resist potions? Did you get lucky using Frostner too? Or just assumed the resist potion made with Barley was for the final boss. I maxed out my pierce damage weapons and Yagluth was a bad surprise... x)
@@pfunkle if you payed attention to the other bosses, there was a pattern of needing whatever resistant potion you could make at that time. I ended up taking every resistant potion i had (just in case) . I also brought multiple weapons with me as I knew certain enemies were vulnerably to certain weapon types.
I remember taking every type of arrow as well which done nothing as well as setting up damage traps and trenches/dirt towers.

not that some people get the wrong idea. if you want to kill him with bows. he did it with bowskill at 100. so you will do not that much damage with bows. i just killed him meelee. with bonemass buff and fire res postion his meelee attack is kind of useless against you. just ate a serpent stew, blood pudding and this lox soup... forgot the name.

I wonder, you didn't put down any campfires or anything preventing enemy spawn... I had countless Deathsquito's and Fuling's bothering me when I tried this.
Take a fire resistance and stamina potion. Then use bonemass. Take him out in like 5 mins easy. Once you have fire resistance is super easy

the silver sword is much better than the BM sword in this boss, the boss is undead and take a lot of damage from silver.

So I just tried this, the harpoon bounced of the his head, I hit him 4 times with it, my skill level went up, but it never tethered him and he just destroyed everything, he was unkillable with arrows as his healing rate was faster than the damage I could do to him!

In New patch, harpoon won't work on boss though 😅
Been having real bad luck finding a spawner runestone. One time found the three stones, but there was no runestone :|

Plains
We found Yagluth without the boss location rune, though it's on a planes next to water so no digging can be done, but I bet the water will get rid of fire.
It adds resistance to fire. The first one i found was near a river. Didnt have fire resist pots but I ran into the water a bunch for the buff. One thing to note is the fire acts like it does at home. It quickly evaporates the water so you lose the wet buff quickly.
Plains
Apparently ESO is a bossing GOD because my buddy and I just went in and tried to kill Yag last night. Took us well over 2 hours. We kept dying to other mobs, the persistent fire attacks, tar debuffs, even a fuling berzerker showed up. Yag destroyed the fingers and you can't hide behind them like ESO says because he will destroy them with all of his attacks very quickly. The most useful thing is the actual summoning altar because he can't shoot fire breath through it. The only thing that worked for us was popping bonemass power, running up and blasting him with two frostners at once, and just tanking all his damage with health potions and fire res mead. Also the best food in the game.
This is NOT an easy fight the first time you do it. Maybe with a ton of practice, but don't expect to just shit on it like he did. Better off doing the cheese method
This game is all about preparation, if you're struggling on a boss it's because you didn't prepare enough
I dug a giant hole that he fell in. Then I could not reach him so I fell in too lol. Most his attacks didn't even hit me so I just went full ham on him in the pit. Bring fire resistance and stamina potions.

easiest way to kill yag boss without armor and food just only silver sword.. 1st build bed nearby.. atk him dont afraid to die..spawn anyway get your stuff with CORPSE RUN buff. then tank him till death. repeat..
You must have a different game. I thought would be easy. Played ring around the rosey. Got some knocks in. Then the entire complex started taking damage and basically no rock was cover for long. since it was going on and on goblins and lox kept spawning. and skitters. which all seemed immune to all this shit. He healed while I was dealing with the adds. and by this time there is no where to really hide. He's got to have some trick of some kind

yea they changed him alot lol . i tried about everything he does his attacks alot faster in real game now then he use to . the time between attack are like 3 sec
Personally I found the bow to be far too weak worth using. Fully upgrading your padded armor, black metal sword to lvl 3, fire potion & healing potions is all you need. Literally tank 'n spank the boss through his slam & avoid the meteors is as easy as it gets. He never used his breath attack while I was close so no need to worry about that.
Harpoon no longer sticks to the boss
If any one is still struggling with yagluth boss silver weapons negate his regen for about 20 seconds after you hit him

Yagluth is Undead Creature, The Silver Sword is more effective than black metal sword and you better use silver tip arrows!
