  • Internet search records on Kouri Richins’ phone include phrases such as “can cops force you to do a lie detector test?” “Luxury prisons for the rich in America,” “death certificate says pending, will life insurance still pay?” “If someone is poisoned what does it go down on the death certificate as,” and “How to permanently delete information from an iPhone remotely.” Private Investigator Chris Kotrodimos detailed the forensic digital evidence in the case against Richins, who is accused of fatally poisoning her husband.

    Notice the professionalism of this witness - he does NOT refer to any notes, he has everything committed to memory. I know from my days testifying in homicides that if I were to use notes the defense can seize and review everything in that notebook. If you listen from 2 minutes in onwards there is something interesting going on. KR surrendered her iPhone year unknown in May 2023 but before that on April 19th 2022 the police seized or primary cell phone. It appears that between buying the drugs and the death/murder on night of Mar 6 2022 , hard deletions of specific messages were made. Apple does not make it easy to do a hard deletion. What Apple gives you is password + encription. KR clearly gave up the required information to access the memory of that phone or she'd be sitting in prison for contempt of court. So given the KR seems to be naive on computer storage and deletions, how did these hard deletions get done ? There are software products that will do this sort of thing but it almost as if KR's phone and CL the drug dealer's phones were handed over to someone savvy in the six week window who did those specific deletions.
      Chris K is implying but not stating explicitly that he could not read any of the texts between KR and CL. Not only that the records (headers, times and so on ) seem to have been completely overwritten so that the memory that would have been used was freed up for rewrite. He knew that those messages existed solely from the Carrier's CDR (versus the time span of interest in the phone messages ) but it appears that he got to work on this rather too late because it is rare for any carrier to delete Text massages within six months - simple reason- they are so cheap to store. I'd guess the Summit PD simply called him in a bit too late. I clarify. The company needs the CDR for billing purposes and billing queries. They'd likely keep them for ten years or a federally mandated period. THe text message component is a pain for the Carrier but it costs next to nothing to store and may in fact be smaller in bytes than the CDR. However maintaining and storing and selectively removing all costs technical time and money. It's easy to see why Carriers keep the text content for the minimum time possible.
      Back to deletions -
      You can only get this level of deletion , hard deletion on cell phones if you hook up to a Pc using USB and use a package on the PC to interrogate and delete memory in the mobile device. In general there is more software of this type for Android OS phones than for Apple Iphones.
      What this is pointing to is that KR got her phone and likely CL's phone to a competent person with a note of what specific messages needed to be deleted in the six week period she had. Why did the LE not act earlier in the seizure ? I guess they needed to make a case to a judge to get a search warrant to seize materials. I'd guess that KR probably had three phones. Original . a burner phone that was used while her Apple was being worked over and then the second Iphone that she bought after the seizure, which is mentioned in the video. Of course if the surgery on her phone was done on a while you wait basis she does not need a burner phone. However if she contacts the number of a "phone butcher" on her ... well I guess that he/she can remove that record at the same time.
      Secondly how did she get the dealer, CL, to comply and have a partial wipe done on her phone ? I guess the dealer was scared due to the homicide aspect. This all smells to me as if KR had a strong arm person who made this all happen. Someone who was more savvy about security and mobile phones. I'd be looking at her siblings ( 1F 2 M I believe) very closely especially if any of them has specific cell phone / IT training . However LE can't get court orders based on hunches.
      Currently the situation revolves around the doubtful memory of a drug addict dealer who may , I 'm guessing, be a felon as well. She will be pointing at the CDr on an overhead and saying - "this call is when I told KR the drugs were ready ". Prosecution will say - "and on what hard evidence can the jury be asked to believe that ?" If the prosecution can force the dealer in to lapses of memory then the whole cross-x will turn into a farce.
      And don't forget the jury will have to be told about any deal that the dealer has done with LE about non prosecution//reduction of charges on other pending cases.
      Suggestion for non believers ; have a look at the Dan Markel case, specifically drg dealer Shoddrick Nobles (on YT) who got a pass on a stolen property case because he identified the alleged killer and driver in the hit killing of Professor Dan Markel in 2014 July. It is in Different state but it works the same way. The cooperation of this dealer, CL is not the nailing point that some might image at the current state of play.
      This is not over til the Fat lady Sings. If that drug dealer is called to testify and she's a logical mess it could sink the whole case. Remember the police did not find one gram of Fentanyl in KR's possession. They can't even prove that she picked up the last package of Fentanyl as it was an alleged dead drop. Yes, I think she did it but I also think that it could go to a hung jury. Remember if KR had a minor previous poisoning with Fe and it show up in his hair test (not covered in the Warrant ) it could be argued by the defense that KR was a secret Fentanyl user. KR was smart enough or lucky enough to put that in place.

    The best lie is one that contains a shred of truth to it - - to make more believable to the liar and gives a more believable delivery. I suspect that when Kouri Richins says "I got into bed and found my husband cold to the touch and not breathing" that indeed she checked him TO MAKE SURE HE WAS DEAD. Then She Freaked Out and Ran Around Before She Could Contain Herself Enough to CALL 911. If she moved around over 130 feet ( that's the length of 3 1/3 School Busses ! ) at 3 something in the am in the 15 minutes between the 911 call and the last unlocking of her phone - - you better believe she was running around looking for things she needed to hide before EMT's came to the house and probably running frantic around the yard / house in a burst of nervous energy when the murder act was completed.

  • @PinkRanger1105
    @PinkRanger1105 Рік тому +10

    Many people keep asking how she could do this, and why she didn’t just take the easier route by getting a divorce. I think it’s much more complex than just “greed” (although, that’s absolutely valid and definitely a key point).
    These are just my thoughts-and no one’s going to actually read this-but I think it was more so that Kouri had a deep jealousy of Eric’s success. In the little research I’ve done of this case, I think it was stated that she met Eric when she was working at a retail store or something (Home Depot?), and he was already a successful business owner. She must’ve actually loved him at one time because she signed a prenup before they got married and they had 3 kids together. *But in one email she sent to a detective* on the case (or someone of that nature), she claims that Eric wanted to have a more traditional marriage-where the man provides for the family, and the woman stays home to take care of the house and kids. Whether that’s true or not (or possibly exaggerated), she explicitly states that she wants no part of that role, and how she wasn’t “raised” that way. She then goes out of her way to make it known that she “never” relied on Eric financially, and that she’s been successful all on her own with grad school and her business ventures. Yet, she refuses to acknowledge-or even show gratitude-that she wouldn’t have had those successes without the financial help of her husband. It’s almost like she feels it’s OWED to her. I firmly believe that over time, she grew bitterly resentful of the fact that her husband was probably frequently praised for being a hard worker and being the breadwinner. She even makes a sarcastic remark in the email asking the detective, “Yes, Eric made more money than me, do you make more money than your wives?” This statement reinforces the idea that she couldn’t stand her own successes being overshadowed by her husband’s. I think this bitterness festered into a dangerously erratic need to be MORE successful than him. Eventually, he just became a stepping stool for her to achieve a weird obsession with being better than him because she “deserved it more than he did.” So she began callously stealing money from him to reach her hierarchical goal. It’s just that the money she was stealing wasn’t enough. She needed more. A LOT more. And thus, she hatched a plan to get rid of him, profit off of his death, and then finally get the attention she so pathetically wanted.

      This all boils down to one thing: narcissistic personality disorder. So yes, she is petty, shallow, greedy, has no empathy, and is selfish. You got one thing wrong tho- because narcissists do not have the ability to love. You can’t love if you can’t even imagine the world from someone else’s perspective. You’re too focused on self. So she never loved him. She likely fell for his wallet. It’s possible she really did like him and the way HE made HER *feel*, but she never loved him, which is a selfless emotion. To answer you in more detail, ppl like this go along for the free ride and figure out the rest later. Who cares about a prenup when you get to live rent free in a mansion? And if you get sick of him- you just knock him off. The reason why narcs kill instead of divorce is obvious… killing is way easier for THEM. They don’t have to deal with a messy divorce, lose their mansion, lose their lifestyle, AND bonus! They get to play poor mourning wife, which garners attention. For THEM it’s way easier. For normal ppl it’s horrific.

      @PinkRanger1105 Рік тому +3

      Not trying to be snippy, but you’re mixing up details (and apparently, so are 29 other people that liked your comment). The Apple Watch did not have any of the searches on it. The searches were made on a replacement phone she used after her main phone was seized by the police shortly after Eric’s death. Then the police seized her replacement phone after they arrested her months(?) later. The only reason the Apple Watch was mentioned was because it was more than likely the device that “linked” with her phone to indicate when her (original) phone physically MOVED the night of the murder. This tracks the distance the phone moved to and from the linked device (the Apple Watch).
      You could still argue that someone else could’ve made those searches on her replacement phone, but A) the P.I. said the searches were made on various days between April to August, and B) her defense attorney didn’t seem to deny Kouri was the one who searched these things-only that they were searched AFTER Eric’s death. (I believe her attorney is trying to set up the defense that Kouri was only searching these things after she formed a curiosity to the details of the case). Although, I’m really puzzled as to why the prosecutor only mentioned a few of the searches, when there were probably over a dozen other searches Kouri made that were just as, if not more incriminating.
      Anyway, I know this was a novel of a response, and I also know I did, in fact, come off sounding extremely snippy, but I promise I wasn’t trying to. Just trying to correct some misunderstandings.

      A) this is a hearing and not the trial. Sarah boone has had many hearings. I've heard of cases that have taken as much as 10 years to come to trial, usually because the defendant is creating chaos and is getting delay after delay. B) Sarah Boone is taking so long because no attorney can work with her. She's on her 6th or 7th attorney. Each time an attorney gets released, the new attorney needs at least 3 months to review the discovery and develop a decent defense. Sarah has made this nearly impossible by demanding each attorney be at her beck and call on a daily basis and insisting on a battered partner defense. They can not find advocates who will testify to this line of defense. Any attorney who can work with her will either be manipulated or is simply a saint.
