Random, but I like being able to see how the judge is actively listening to the witness, and how he takes notes through the process. Interesting
I was noticing that also, he was intently paying attention to this witness. The witness is very clear and precise and as someone else commented, without using notes.
Since this is a detention/preliminary hearing and it’s the judge that determines there is sufficient evidence to prove that it is more likely than not that the defendant committed the charged crime and the case can go forward, I’d hope he’d pay attention.
I like this Judge already 👏🏽

Notice the professionalism of this witness - he does NOT refer to any notes, he has everything committed to memory. I know from my days testifying in homicides that if I were to use notes the defense can seize and review everything in that notebook. It can backfire on a detective if they didn’t practice extreme restraint - no spurious thoughts or doodling. I was always told to memorize everything.
Yes, it is not often a witness has it all memorized like this. He is clear, confident and a great asset to the State.
I did not think of that, thank you. Was wondering why no notes by him. Cheers again.
Bs those are professional written reports that’s need to be looked at for reliability. I surely wouldn’t want a cop not to look at his notes it’s not ethical and it can cause the person to relay improper information which could be horrendous for the suspect and witnesses

Wow what a fantastic witness. His memory was so on point! I pray Justice is served!!
He has an incredible memory!
Agreed!!!
This cell phone data mapping evidence he presents is pretty damning and we haven’t gotten to the trial yet…
She may not be telling untruths about leaving her cellphone next to the bed. She could have been communicating from an iPhone or iWatch. I am still reviewing the information that has been released so I do not have a hard opinion yet.
If you listen from 2 minutes in onwards there is something interesting going on. KR surrendered her iPhone year unknown in May 2023 but before that on April 19th 2022 the police seized or primary cell phone. It appears that between buying the drugs and the death/murder on night of Mar 6 2022 , hard deletions of specific messages were made. Apple does not make it easy to do a hard deletion. What Apple gives you is password + encription. KR clearly gave up the required information to access the memory of that phone or she'd be sitting in prison for contempt of court. So given the KR seems to be naive on computer storage and deletions, how did these hard deletions get done ? There are software products that will do this sort of thing but it almost as if KR's phone and CL the drug dealer's phones were handed over to someone savvy in the six week window who did those specific deletions.
Chris K is implying but not stating explicitly that he could not read any of the texts between KR and CL. Not only that the records (headers, times and so on ) seem to have been completely overwritten so that the memory that would have been used was freed up for rewrite. He knew that those messages existed solely from the Carrier's CDR (versus the time span of interest in the phone messages ) but it appears that he got to work on this rather too late because it is rare for any carrier to delete Text massages within six months - simple reason- they are so cheap to store. I'd guess the Summit PD simply called him in a bit too late. I clarify. The company needs the CDR for billing purposes and billing queries. They'd likely keep them for ten years or a federally mandated period. THe text message component is a pain for the Carrier but it costs next to nothing to store and may in fact be smaller in bytes than the CDR. However maintaining and storing and selectively removing all costs technical time and money. It's easy to see why Carriers keep the text content for the minimum time possible.
Back to deletions -
You can only get this level of deletion , hard deletion on cell phones if you hook up to a Pc using USB and use a package on the PC to interrogate and delete memory in the mobile device. In general there is more software of this type for Android OS phones than for Apple Iphones.
What this is pointing to is that KR got her phone and likely CL's phone to a competent person with a note of what specific messages needed to be deleted in the six week period she had. Why did the LE not act earlier in the seizure ? I guess they needed to make a case to a judge to get a search warrant to seize materials. I'd guess that KR probably had three phones. Original . a burner phone that was used while her Apple was being worked over and then the second Iphone that she bought after the seizure, which is mentioned in the video. Of course if the surgery on her phone was done on a while you wait basis she does not need a burner phone. However if she contacts the number of a "phone butcher" on her ... well I guess that he/she can remove that record at the same time.
Secondly how did she get the dealer, CL, to comply and have a partial wipe done on her phone ? I guess the dealer was scared due to the homicide aspect. This all smells to me as if KR had a strong arm person who made this all happen. Someone who was more savvy about security and mobile phones. I'd be looking at her siblings ( 1F 2 M I believe) very closely especially if any of them has specific cell phone / IT training . However LE can't get court orders based on hunches.
Currently the situation revolves around the doubtful memory of a drug addict dealer who may , I 'm guessing, be a felon as well. She will be pointing at the CDr on an overhead and saying - "this call is when I told KR the drugs were ready ". Prosecution will say - "and on what hard evidence can the jury be asked to believe that ?" If the prosecution can force the dealer in to lapses of memory then the whole cross-x will turn into a farce.
And don't forget the jury will have to be told about any deal that the dealer has done with LE about non prosecution//reduction of charges on other pending cases.
Suggestion for non believers ; have a look at the Dan Markel case, specifically drg dealer Shoddrick Nobles (on YT) who got a pass on a stolen property case because he identified the alleged killer and driver in the hit killing of Professor Dan Markel in 2014 July. It is in Different state but it works the same way. The cooperation of this dealer, CL is not the nailing point that some might image at the current state of play.
This is not over til the Fat lady Sings. If that drug dealer is called to testify and she's a logical mess it could sink the whole case. Remember the police did not find one gram of Fentanyl in KR's possession. They can't even prove that she picked up the last package of Fentanyl as it was an alleged dead drop. Yes, I think she did it but I also think that it could go to a hung jury. Remember if KR had a minor previous poisoning with Fe and it show up in his hair test (not covered in the Warrant ) it could be argued by the defense that KR was a secret Fentanyl user. KR was smart enough or lucky enough to put that in place.

The best lie is one that contains a shred of truth to it - - to make more believable to the liar and gives a more believable delivery. I suspect that when Kouri Richins says "I got into bed and found my husband cold to the touch and not breathing" that indeed she checked him TO MAKE SURE HE WAS DEAD. Then She Freaked Out and Ran Around Before She Could Contain Herself Enough to CALL 911. If she moved around over 130 feet ( that's the length of 3 1/3 School Busses ! ) at 3 something in the am in the 15 minutes between the 911 call and the last unlocking of her phone - - you better believe she was running around looking for things she needed to hide before EMT's came to the house and probably running frantic around the yard / house in a burst of nervous energy when the murder act was completed.

@@kristy-lou8762 The defense has stated that there is no written evidence of that however the prosecution may bring the son into court to allege that his epi pen was used by Eric to recover. And surprise ... in Utah they are only available on prescription so there will be hopefully a medical record of new prescription. So the BS (defense) hearsay bizzo on that will go out the window. They really need the son to testify on that (and there may be issues there - he might not have been home at the time for example) but I suspect there will be documentary evidence in any case surrounding the first attempt. The F allegedly used in the first attempt was purchased from CL in a face to face transaction.

What I don’t understand, is that why would she throw away her family, life and everything els for prison ? She really, really thought she can get away with this? So tragic how he died !!!
She still might get away with it. The prosecution's chief witness is the housekeeper and she's a drug addict with a criminal record who was facing charges of her own. The defense will argue she made up a story to get out of her own charges. Discrediting their best witness could be enough to get her out of this. It's scary.
Greed, plan and simple. Just Greed. It was her only objective. Otherwise she would have cared about the people that have lost so much because of her.
Many people keep asking how she could do this, and why she didn’t just take the easier route by getting a divorce. I think it’s much more complex than just “greed” (although, that’s absolutely valid and definitely a key point).
These are just my thoughts-and no one’s going to actually read this-but I think it was more so that Kouri had a deep jealousy of Eric’s success. In the little research I’ve done of this case, I think it was stated that she met Eric when she was working at a retail store or something (Home Depot?), and he was already a successful business owner. She must’ve actually loved him at one time because she signed a prenup before they got married and they had 3 kids together. *But in one email she sent to a detective* on the case (or someone of that nature), she claims that Eric wanted to have a more traditional marriage-where the man provides for the family, and the woman stays home to take care of the house and kids. Whether that’s true or not (or possibly exaggerated), she explicitly states that she wants no part of that role, and how she wasn’t “raised” that way. She then goes out of her way to make it known that she “never” relied on Eric financially, and that she’s been successful all on her own with grad school and her business ventures. Yet, she refuses to acknowledge-or even show gratitude-that she wouldn’t have had those successes without the financial help of her husband. It’s almost like she feels it’s OWED to her. I firmly believe that over time, she grew bitterly resentful of the fact that her husband was probably frequently praised for being a hard worker and being the breadwinner. She even makes a sarcastic remark in the email asking the detective, “Yes, Eric made more money than me, do you make more money than your wives?” This statement reinforces the idea that she couldn’t stand her own successes being overshadowed by her husband’s. I think this bitterness festered into a dangerously erratic need to be MORE successful than him. Eventually, he just became a stepping stool for her to achieve a weird obsession with being better than him because she “deserved it more than he did.” So she began callously stealing money from him to reach her hierarchical goal. It’s just that the money she was stealing wasn’t enough. She needed more. A LOT more. And thus, she hatched a plan to get rid of him, profit off of his death, and then finally get the attention she so pathetically wanted.
Anyway, those are my two cents. God bless your soul if you got through all of this and understood my convoluted ramblings. You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming. 😬
They signed prenup. She won't get much if they divorced.
This all boils down to one thing: narcissistic personality disorder. So yes, she is petty, shallow, greedy, has no empathy, and is selfish. You got one thing wrong tho- because narcissists do not have the ability to love. You can’t love if you can’t even imagine the world from someone else’s perspective. You’re too focused on self. So she never loved him. She likely fell for his wallet. It’s possible she really did like him and the way HE made HER *feel*, but she never loved him, which is a selfless emotion. To answer you in more detail, ppl like this go along for the free ride and figure out the rest later. Who cares about a prenup when you get to live rent free in a mansion? And if you get sick of him- you just knock him off. The reason why narcs kill instead of divorce is obvious… killing is way easier for THEM. They don’t have to deal with a messy divorce, lose their mansion, lose their lifestyle, AND bonus! They get to play poor mourning wife, which garners attention. For THEM it’s way easier. For normal ppl it’s horrific.
I know they say the Feds are the best however this retired cop now private investigator is pretty damn good.
Her husband was on to her; he removed her from his will after realizing she was trying to kill him. There is NO way he was going to drink or eat anything that she prepared for him. I believe she poisoned his drink when he left it momentarily (went to bathroom possibly). I guess it doesn't matter, she was unfortunately successful.

She needs to fess up because it would be better for her than to keep carrying on the charade. Tell the truth Kouri… it appears to me you are” Bang to Rights”!
I think Kouri better fire Morticia and get another lawyer!!!
😂
Her goose is cooked! Good! Hope she spends the rest of her miserable life in prison.
Is this just me or does this defense attorney feel like she is flirting with the judge and the witnesses?
The defense attorney has little to work with first off. Her only real argument is that KR’s main phone didn’t have any defamatory searches. It was the Apple Watch that had all those searches and that could be someone else within a few feet of the main phone. But of course a 7 year old didn’t look up “How to poison your husband”.
Not trying to be snippy, but you’re mixing up details (and apparently, so are 29 other people that liked your comment). The Apple Watch did not have any of the searches on it. The searches were made on a replacement phone she used after her main phone was seized by the police shortly after Eric’s death. Then the police seized her replacement phone after they arrested her months(?) later. The only reason the Apple Watch was mentioned was because it was more than likely the device that “linked” with her phone to indicate when her (original) phone physically MOVED the night of the murder. This tracks the distance the phone moved to and from the linked device (the Apple Watch).
You could still argue that someone else could’ve made those searches on her replacement phone, but A) the P.I. said the searches were made on various days between April to August, and B) her defense attorney didn’t seem to deny Kouri was the one who searched these things-only that they were searched AFTER Eric’s death. (I believe her attorney is trying to set up the defense that Kouri was only searching these things after she formed a curiosity to the details of the case). Although, I’m really puzzled as to why the prosecutor only mentioned a few of the searches, when there were probably over a dozen other searches Kouri made that were just as, if not more incriminating.
Anyway, I know this was a novel of a response, and I also know I did, in fact, come off sounding extremely snippy, but I promise I wasn’t trying to. Just trying to correct some misunderstandings.
Wow! Your recollection of events is phenomenal. I'd bet you're very intelligent.
@@PinkRanger1105nah that’s not snippy. There’s always huge misinformation that goes around the internet about cases. 98% of ppl actually believe that Sarah Boone had a supporter who put up a go fund me for 10 mil when it was clearly trolling/satire
@@kateashby3066 normally I would scoff at people trolling with things like that, but good god, Sarah Boone is obnoxiously WORSE than Kouri. But yes, you’re absolutely correct that misinformation gets spread like wildfire on social media.
Did she really think she was getting away with this 😢😊
That’s what a narcissist thinks…..they are smarter than everyone…..Not🙃
@@heavenonearth3061 Stop using the term narcissist. It's overused by Utubers. She has not been diagnosed as that. Narcissists are very annoying, not easily hurt, but they are not usually murderers. Many very successful business execs are narcissists. That enables them to be ruthless in their drive to succeed. They don't suffer fools gladly, just dismissing any staff who dont meet their expections. I've worked for one who told me he is a narcissist. He felt no shame in that and it certainly taught me how to work for him.
@@elizabethgrogan8553 There are different kinds of narcissists. Malignant narcissists are frequently domestic abusers who cause devastating and long-lasting harm to their victims and yes, they can also do away with their spouse. This defendant has not been “diagnosed”, but we are ordinary people working backwards or reverse engineering: what kind of a wife would unalive their innocent husband? (Wording for UA-cam censors)

@@shelso1300it’s a nervous reaction. This chick has ZERO self awareness, like most narcissists.
how did she get to court so fast when Sarah Boone is still waiting?
Sarah Boone is in another state. She’s in Florida and this one is in Utah
This is just a bond hearing. This not the actual criminal case.
A) this is a hearing and not the trial. Sarah boone has had many hearings. I've heard of cases that have taken as much as 10 years to come to trial, usually because the defendant is creating chaos and is getting delay after delay. B) Sarah Boone is taking so long because no attorney can work with her. She's on her 6th or 7th attorney. Each time an attorney gets released, the new attorney needs at least 3 months to review the discovery and develop a decent defense. Sarah has made this nearly impossible by demanding each attorney be at her beck and call on a daily basis and insisting on a battered partner defense. They can not find advocates who will testify to this line of defense. Any attorney who can work with her will either be manipulated or is simply a saint.
@@proudusmcmom84 thank you, I'm an idiot
@@rebalspirit , thanks. I kind of realized that she couldn't find an attorney that she could work with. I wasn't thinking. chalk it up to adhd and forgot to take my noon med and I'm blonde(well, used to be..now I'm pretty much Grey, but shhhh..I was that grey right out. lol
Why didnt she just search, "How to kill your husband with fentanyl?" Geez louise 🤦🏻♀️
P.I. Chris Nostradamus knows!
Strange that all googling killers don’t know NOW that they Will be usel against them EVEN if erased!
Not strange.
Appropriate.
Or ped0s who collect or MAKE child p0rn (Stephen Sterns). How du mb do you have to be!
That female defense attorney scared me with the way she looks 😬
She needs a bath.
You just can't put a 2 mil insurance policy on your husband and expect to collect of he dies. She is smarter than this... The cat is not out of the bag yet.
How so?
She is but her back was against the wall the floor was being ripped from beneath her so she had to act fast

Why I am laughing so hard at that. I do not know.😂
Kouri was working on the till in a shop when she met her husband . She had everything but her greed and Narsasisstic Personality was just not satisfied with what she had. Now she has nothing , and nothing but time to think about what she had......also she needs to stop the smirking everyone can see it!
He needs notes, to assure accuracy
I love this Judge! 👍🌟
It's so weird how she seems so genuinely interested in what they're saying. Bid I mean most defendants act like they're writing or keep their head down but not her
Murderers should prepare their crimes better. Don’t they watch Court tv.? Don’t they know anything about mobile phones. You might as well videotape your crime.
Right? I mean .. Jodi Arias was 200 p cent sure no jury was going to convict her lol and she left the camera behind lol
You mean like Sarah Boone did? 😂 the reason these ppl are so arrogant and sloppy is that they’re narcissists. The disorder gives them a false sense of grandiosity- it makes them feel invincible. That’s why they do these stup!d things and expect to get away with it.

A nearly year long investigation which was relatively clandestine and based on suspicions from Eric's family. Boots on the ground and perseverence.
Luxury prisons, LMAO
Send her to a "Luxurious Prison"😆 for life
The name of the Utah correctional facility that she may be headed to is called The Emerald Building.
