I feel bad for whoever was sitting behind the guy in the white shirt because he jumped up after the first uppercut. People are so selfish. Those were not the cheap seats.
Exactly 30 years ago Tyson was a bad motherfucker. This was Tyson at his peak and I have a hard time thinking any heavyweight would stop him between this time and 1988. He was at his athletic peak and his work ethic was unparalleled.
George Foreman was scary in the mid 70s, so scary people thought he was going to literally murder Muhammad Ali in the ring. He lost of course but he was frightening... Prime Foreman vs Prime Tyson would be the matchup of the two most feared men in boxing history.
I think George would have beaten Mike although Tyson fought like Joe Frazier he seemed so much more explosive so perhaps one of those uppercuts would connect and push George back.
One of the scariest knock outs in boxing history! I watched this on TV and many people thought Tyson killed him. That uppercut looked like it almost decapitated Marvis Frazier's head. Glad Frazier was ok. This version of Mike Tyson would have beaten anybody in history!

I love this fight, because the way Joe Frazier stood in the ring and mean mugged Tyson while standing beside his son. It gave the feel that it was Tyson versus the world, as if Tyson was in there all alone and he slaughtered the dude.
You ever read Fraziers biography? He said Mike Tyson in his prime was twice as intimidating than Foreman and looked like he was from another planet. he never saw anything like him. I think Joe was glad it wasn't him getting in the ring. I could see fear for his son in those eyes.
johnboy here. Reminds me of the Norton-Bobick fight except Bobick was 42-0 against mostly nobodies. A co worker of mine missed that fight also because he had to use the bathroom.
The Clays (Muhammad Ali's father) are Black descendants of the Clay family from which comes Henry Clay. In the family many of the men were named Cassius Marcellus Clay, Henry or Louis. They were the leading landowning and political families of the Louisville region of Kentucky.
Interesting! I never made the connection. Henry Clay, like Ali, was a Kentuckian. You think I'd have figured that out. Henry Clay was a paradox; a slave holding southerner who nonetheless thought it immoral. He also strove to save the union, one of the few southerners to do so.
I remember this fight well and Marvis never should have been allowed to get in the ring with MT, as Mike was in his prime and was literally "destroying" everyone who opposed him. Marvis just never had the heart that it would have taken to be an elite boxer/fighter. Joe kept pushing that issue and Marvis simply wanted to please his dad. This was not the only fight where Marvis was plain and simply OVERMATCHED !! He finally did wise up and quit.
Most importantly, Marvis should have lost weight, to move into a lighter category, that's the rule of thumb, when you have opponents into your category, far more stronger than you, like Mike Tyson or Larry Holmes. Secondly, he was not a native puncher like his father wanted from him, otherwise, he was a pretty decent boxer.
Joe Frazier: Imagine you and Mike Tyson in his prime, that would be crazy. Marvis Frazier: Yeah, it would be a war but I would beat him. *Fast forward to this video*
I love how Tyson used to go over to make sure the dudes he knocked out was ok

Vicious upper cut I've seen in my life
I love how Mike always went to check on his opponents just to see if they weren't fuacking death!
I like how you can see Marvin's legs react an try to get him out of the way of the punches after he's been sitting down for about 5 seconds.
"HE COMES OUT SMOKING LIKE MARVIS'S FATHER JOE" !
It could have been Deontay Wilder, been KO by mike Tyson in his prime.
Wilder who ???
Tyson could have potentially beat any boxer that ever lived in his prime
@@BigShean everyone except the Legend 64-0 Loyd Cunningham
@@BigShean Rocky Marciano
@@berserk3380 there’s a chance for sure but I’ll still take Tyson all day.
Never gets old.
Dude took 3 KO punches before collapsing lol. What a fury of punches.
Fraser had no business in the ring with Tyson. what a Joke. Tyson would have destroyed Lewis and Evander at this time in his boxing career.
Lamb to the slaughter, Frazier jnr had no business being in the ring with Tyson, Tysn was virtually an unstoppable killing machine at his peak.
u look at this and conclude. Tyson fought an old frazier..frazier shouldn't have even fought at this time.
Tyson fought lot of boxers who were old already..holy field n Lewis kicked tysons as coz they were big but also they fought throughout n Tyson was very good fighter n also in his prime when got kicked by them both.
Praveen Sharma
This was Frazier jnr not Snr
+ynotnilknarf39 oh ok..thanks for the correction
Yet they BOTH beat Tyson. Go figure ya moron.
Imagine going thru so much training for a 20 second fight 😳
At least the training helps make those quick fights so quick.
This KO, the one by Mercer against Morrison and Cooney against Norton are the most brutal I've ever seen.
I feel bad for whoever was sitting behind the guy in the white shirt because he jumped up after the first uppercut. People are so selfish. Those were not the cheap seats.
1000000 thanks!!!!
works perfect, now youtube is like old times ;)
You're welcome man
The greatest heavyweight ever!!!PERIOD!!!!
Not even the best of his generation. Holyfield beat him twice and Lewis beat him also. Both of them had far better careers than Tyson.
@@michaelmilken3835 THEY DIDNT EVEN FIGHT HIM IN HIS PRIME!!! GET OUT OF HERE HATER!!!!
@@wendyedwindeleon4100 Holyfield and Lewis were both older than Tyson.
id like to see him fight joe in his prime
I remember this. I watch it on tube television with my dad.
Something electric about watching history being made.
+Ricky T.P.B Foreman was never really the same after that loss either
@Cryer24597 ahaha
He got stopped !!!!
I think George would have beaten Mike although Tyson fought like Joe Frazier he seemed so much more explosive so perhaps one of those uppercuts would connect and push George back.
What happened I missed it?!😂
One of the scariest knock outs in boxing history! I watched this on TV and many people thought Tyson killed him. That uppercut looked like it almost decapitated Marvis Frazier's head. Glad Frazier was ok. This version of Mike Tyson would have beaten anybody in history!
I attempted to watch this went to grab a beer came back the fight was over.
Poetry in motion .. 😊 I'm glad Marvin Frazier was ok..
The KLITSCKHO brothers would never defeated Tyson in his prime! They re just good boxers, not boxing legends!
they should be arrested. They are responsable for thousands of dead people in Ukraina. Stupid pricks thought there is no difference between politics and boxing ring
Freddie Roach said prime Wlad hit harder than prime Mike. And the man sure knows more about boxing than you and me.
Tyson couldn't even beat Holyfield!!
This fight was as long as a youtube ad
I was 17yrs old when me and my friends watch this on the news ....When we could see Mike Tyson so happy he'd won he look like a monster like when Clubber Lang beat up Rocky ....Roar Roar Roar 🐯🐯🐯 Mike had the eye of the Tiger....
He must have done something really bad for his dad to punish him like that !
Tyson the destroyer
No, "Iron"Mike was his name - "The Destroyer" was Alex Stewart.
@@1FaithHopeandLove I know it pretty well, i was in my 20's at the best of Tyson, nevetheless, never have seen a boxer destroying his contender the way Tyson did, hece, Tyson the destroyer
Ok @@ricardomaccotta6367.
This is joe fraziers son Marvis frazier who's career wasn't as good as his fathers obviously lol nooby boxing fans
MeTHoDoLogY y this is a new fight to me but Last names don’t win fights- Smarts and speed do. I only saw a few fights of Tyson in the 90s.
The Clays (Muhammad Ali's father) are Black descendants of the Clay family from which comes Henry Clay. In the family many of the men were named Cassius Marcellus Clay, Henry or Louis. They were the leading landowning and political families of the Louisville region of Kentucky.
Thats why Frazier called Ali a half-breed.
Interesting! I never made the connection. Henry Clay, like Ali, was a Kentuckian. You think I'd have figured that out. Henry Clay was a paradox; a slave holding southerner who nonetheless thought it immoral. He also strove to save the union, one of the few southerners to do so.
Tyson is a beast !!!! Tyson is a one man wreaking crew !!!!
Absolute dominance, he actually bowed powerless before him
Ha thats funny but yep sure enough, bowed to the better man
I remember watching this live on TV. Tyson at the height of his career.
you can tell it was over from the first feinted uppercut that made Marvis flinch like crazy, after that it was just a matter of when
Even when tyson was a killer he would still go over after the fight to help his opponents ❤❤❤
Who here Joe Rogan podcast 2024
Joe Frazier: Imagine you and Mike Tyson in his prime, that would be crazy.
Marvis Frazier: Yeah, it would be a war but I would beat him.
*Fast forward to this video*
I grabbed a beer from the fridge as the bell rang and the fight was over before I sat down.
Around that time?
Can we appreciate that guy on the background with a purple shirt of his quick reaction after mike's first uppercut?
