A lot of people are complaining about the powertrain and the price. Have you priced a loaded Jeep Wrangler? It’s the same price with a comparable hybrid system.
And even jeeps aren’t reliable 😂😂which folks have a point that price range with a TURBO 2.4L😂😂come on now if you’re TRULY into vehicles you know damn well this ain’t it
@@miguelvega7769 Jeep not being reliable has nothing to do with the style of powertrain, but rather from being made by Jeep. That company hasn't done anything remotely reliable since maybe the 4.0
I think that’s because these vehicles have become accessories for many people. 4Runner, LX GX, Land Cruisers. They’re mall & coffee shop hunters nobody really takes them off road
Sinse off-road trails never look as difficult on video, it was helpful that you talked through the process of what the car offers and why it makes the challenges easier.
Elephant in the room: you can get the GX premium for less than the Land Cruiser mid trim optioned to match the GX as best as possible and even then, the GX gives you the turbo V6 and a more luxury feel. @@elonsus9747nah 4runners aside from TRD PRo never crossed with the GX. But I will say people are crazy for buying the cheap, slow 4runner when a used GX with low miles costed roughly the same amount.
I really hope they work out a more elegant solution to the back. Having the remnants of the 3rd row configuration and this multi-step Frankensteined looking battery bank in the back is pretty inexcusable for a $70k car that's been in development from scratch for a decade. I really love this LC, but hoping if I wait a year or two they'll work out better solutions. I'd probably buy one either way, but really hope that gets sorted out.
In reference to your wish for the rear windshield wiper being hidden under the spoiler because of the way the glass hinges might be the reason why it’s located below instead. It may add too much bulk so close to the hinge point it may affect the balance. Or perhaps it’s more complicated to mount up there since there are two hinges, one for the glass and one for the hatch it just becomes either cost or packaging issue or both.
As a 4Runner only owner for that past 20+ years (current ride is a '15 TRD Pro I bought new) if I were in the market for a new vehicle I would probably take this over the new 4Runner. I really love the looks.
New 4 Runner looks wayyy better inside and out & probably will be cheaper & has similar features. Hate any vehicles with cheap black fender flares, especially if it cost over $50k
Back seat floor height looks too high.. I noticed his legs weren’t flush with the seat and feet were sort of angled.. looked a bit uncomfortable for rear seat passengers
Man, the price logic on this vehicle is STUPID. $70k for this is outrageous. You have to get the “premium package” for features that are standard on competitors! Come on, Toyota…are you kidding?!?! “Oh, let’s price this high because it’s a “Land Cruiser and we don’t want just anyone buying one”. Get outta here lol
i'll be buying santa fe and will save a ton of money so i can buy a used car to replace my wife's aging mdx. i love the car, but i just can't stomach 70k+ cars.
Good job, very well done. I kinda prefer the console set-up of this over the Tacoma/4Runner's. The small knob and buttons for the crawl control are in a great location. And even though the screen is slightly smaller at 12", it sems to fit the dash better. The big 14" in the Taco looks odd and out of place.
$70K with a prop hood, no panoroof for something meant for the outdoors. To me it's either go cheaper with the 4runner or ball out for the GX. Forcing the iForceMAX hybrid engine is a deal breaker for me cause it takes up some storage space.
Volcalstone, the vehicle is clearly not for you and also remember they selling 5000 of those in North America so that alone should tell you something. When people buy the LC it’s mainly for prestige so for many it’s out of the window. The fact that people hate to hear is hybrid will become more popular unfortunately and if your current vehicle is working well then you don’t need to trade it or sell it.
6:52 the brake lights doubling as the turn signals is unacceptable and needs to be illegal already. In other markets, the lower section is a proper separate amber turn signal. It's nonsensical.
If you mean by real Land Cruiser as in the 300 series. No Europe does not get the 300 series and has the same SUV as us being simply called “Land Cruiser” Also I disagree with you fully. Sure this is the smaller Land Cruiser Prado instead of the Land Cruiser 300. But it’s hardly smaller when you compare both vehicles’ dimensions. Like the Land Cruiser 300 it has the same TNGA GA-F platform and many of its off road components. The vehicle has more torque than the 200 series which is more important for off roading than hp. Heck they even stated during the global unveiling of this vehicle that its off road prowess is on par with the 300 series. Toyota made a fatal mistake pricing it so close to the GX. The GX has better engine, better warranty, better quality materials, 4 year warranty vs 3, and most Lexus dealers don’t charge over msrp. Plus the Lexus dealership experience is amazing and free car rentals. Go to a Toyota service center and your packed with other customers trying to drop off/pick up at the same times. It actually really sucks. The Toyota dealers have become so greedy that they will try to mark this up. So sick of their tactics 😢
I get it.. it's no comparison to the outgoing 200 series.. despite the hefty pricetag, the 200 series was perfect.. but this 250 is growing on me... Too bad it doesn't cater to bigger families
Choosing between this new Land Cruiser and the new 4Runner is almost impossible. If you thought Toyota was raking it in before, wait until the LC and 4Runner are both in showrooms.
