I have the older MX Keys and the backlight turning off in the dark can get annoying. But I found that the backlight stays on while charging, so I just plug the keyboard when I need it to stay on.
@@alejandroperez5368 so I tried it out. You're right. When it's charging, the backlight turns off after about 5 minutes of inactivity. That's comfortable enough for me to work. I've not even noticed it going off until you asked. But normally, it turns off in 10 seconds. In ten seconds... I barely take my hands off the keyboard and it goes off.
Just got mine, and I love it except for: 1) The Fn key being on the right, when it's better on the Left. 2) The Fn, and other 'internal' system keys cannot be customized to other keys. 3) The key backlighting bleeds out from under the square keys, which I really don't like. Thinking of taking it apart and painting the white plastic under the keys. Probably not worth it though...
Thanks for the review! You saved me from getting the keyboard only to find out later that the bolt receiver will not work with my existing MX 2S! Cheers!
Just stumbled across this channel. Pure gold. Loads of info and no sign of some wet-wipe sat in front of a LED-lit desk or obligatory IKEA potted plant. Keep it up.
I bought the black version and really liked it. It worked well on my Mac. However, at night the keys have a glare and make them hard to read and it is annoying. Yes I look at keys here and there. during the day it is great. I may tets the white one out to see if it is better, otherwise back to the apple keyboard...which I like typing on, but not as much as the MX Keys. Just my input.

The problem is that some of this is not true, or is due to a misunderstanding of the topic: 1). What exactly does using a "wireless" keyboard in "wired mode" mean as a disadvantage? Of course, you can use it after connecting via USB, but only in charging mode, but still in wireless mode. It's hard to expect a wireless keyboard to be... wired. 2). Yes, the biggest advantage of the Bold receiver is that it offers a higher level of security (AES) than a regular receiver - which is quite crucial in the case of a keyboard. It is difficult to expect that Bold will work with older devices that do not offer encryption. Moreover, if we decide on a keyboard with Bolt, it would be best to also buy a compatible mouse. Otherwise, our computer will not be fully secured and the intruder can still perform an effective attack via an unencrypted mouse connection. 3). The fact that the backlight does not work all the time makes sense in the case of a battery-powered device. Moreover, as soon as we bring our hands close to the keyboard, the backlight immediately activates, so what's the problem? A keyboard is not a table lamp... sorry! ;-) 4). I have been using it for 7 months. I never once had a problem connecting to my computer. Works perfectly.
Hey, im worriex about the keycaps durability? How is yoyrs after 7 months of using? Does it gets like the cheap laptop keycaps, with the space bar "melting" in the most used spots?
@@JoaoPacheco-si5io The keys do not wear out. Mine is the MX Keys purchased in 2022 and I use it for 6 hours a day 5 days a week and my keyboard still does not erase the letters and never leaves grease stains if anything. Why not put those three connection buttons here instead and leave the print key button alone? Why-oh-why Logitech??? - The Function keys are all jammed together instead of being in groups of four --this really messes up touch typists as F2 is where F1 used to be and they are all off --there should be a GAP between each group of four function keys - By default, the traditional F1, F2, etc. is overridden with crappy assigned functions and you have to install their crappy keyboard software to un-override function keys back to traditional settings (i.e., when you hit F5 it sends "F5" instead invoking some weird function with a stick figure with radio waves shooting out of its head --no joke look at!) - The LOCK key is where the calculator key is normally at --yep, you go to hit calculator and BOOM you go to the lock screen instead of quickly launching the calculator --who at Logitech thought this would be a great idea to constantly prank hard-working people??? - The receiver is NOT COMPATIBLE with hundreds of other perfectly working Logitech mice --this means you have to install two dongles for a keyboard and mouse - It connects to 3 different keyboards, but hey if you switch to another computer only the keyboard is switched and NOT your mouse??? Pathetic shortsightedness by Logitech. - The calculator button is in a bad place for those used to hitting it in the upper righthand corner --Logitech has been doing this for decades and they moved it - The typing is pure crap --just as you go to push down the key it bottoms out instantly --I just cannot get used to it - NO LINUX SUPPORT! -ok, I am used to this but when you need Windows software to make the function keys work as an actual function key AND the settings do not persist during OS swaps this makes for an unusable keyboard especially with the removal of Print Screen, Scroll Lock, and Pause/Break keys. - No dedicated Mute and volume Up/Down keys --yep, Logitech pulls a fast one on their customers by assigning these to function keys - The ESCAPE key is not a standalone square on the upper lefthand of the keyboard --instead, it is twice normal width and invades part of the space where F1 would normally be creating havoc for touch typists - The illumination is too low and does not want to consistently come on as expected no does it always stay on while in use --sometimes it flickers, this could have been worse making periodic strobe lighting but hey, the brightness is so low you do not have to worry about that at all - There is no palm rest --I thought I could get used to this, but nope my wrists and fingers began to get fatigued because they've been using keyboards with integrated palm rests for several decades now - You CANNOT adjust the keyboard height --it is stuck at the precise angle delivered out of the box After a week of trying to get used to all of this, I gave up and plugged my Logitech K800 back in.
