Got the MX Mechanical about a month ago for €129 on Black Friday. It's my first mech keyboard and it's the best keyboard I've had by a long shot, ever. I've gone through quite a bit of keyboards (mostly Logi) since I use 'm for my work. I had to go for the board with NumPad because of heavy use of 3D software and so far it has improved my working experience a lot. I can recommend this keyboard to anyone who wishes to upgrade from the "standard" keyboard feel (let's face it, the MX Keys S still feels like a laptop keyboard). Edit to add : I went for the tactile brown switches and they are perfect.
Saw your Mx mechanical switches video and again exactly what I need. Not sure yet if Ibwill buy the Mx keys or the mechanical with tactile switches, but thanks to your vids I was able to narrow it down to one or the other.
@@adamtalkstech It's mostly for work in home office and some gaming. Bought the MX Keys S today. Will geht it next week. Mostly because it 's more quiet and closer to the K800 I am using at the moment. Again thanks for the Video.
I Just checked the box and found the cable! I didn't know i needed one and didn't know it was in there,! I'm so glad i watched and rechecked the box! Thank you!!
Thanks for the comparison and sound tests! For work use (and likely / potentially faster typing) , I personally prefer the MX Keys S to the MX Mechanical Tactile (tried both out in a store side by side): To me, the MX Mechanical Tactile version is a nice keyboard (especially form someone who wants that mechanical feel without the extreme noise), but it is still rather loud, especially for work use or for Zoom use when hosting a call and typing in parallel. By contrast, the MX Keys S is very quiet and actually fast to type on since scissor style keyboards have less travel. It seems there is a slightly better feel and more key travel on the new MX Keys S version than the older [non-S] MX Keys keyboard (I have both). One review siter noted the additional key travel. That said, the reason I got the S is because my old one MX Keys Non-S (from 2020) developed 2 holes in the Left Shift key!!! I never moved it (always used at home only). It obviously depends on needs and personal preferences.
May I ask how the noise / amount of pressure compares to the mechanical linear and the mx keys s? My best buy only had the tactile switches. I'm coming from a laptop and the tactile keys seems both a little louder than I'm used to and required more "force" to push
@@adamtalkstech thank you for your quick reply! I appreciate it. I might get the MX Keys S and the MX Anywhere 3s (upgrading from a 2s) - I'll see if you have a video comparing the mice first though. Keep up the great content creation!
i have the mx keys and while i use a monitor lamp like the Ben Q, keys are barely readable! i would like to try the mechanical, seems to have the keys more flat
Wondering if the mini versions run with a numberpad of another brand (actually I'm using a Microsoft sculpt which has a separate numberpad). That because I use the numberpad on the left.
Any idea if the right hand command buttons on these keyboards can be remapped? I never use right hand start of fn, and would STRONGLY prefer the right ctrl to be closer to the spacebar (use it all the time in vscode). I __assume__ it's easy to swap keycaps on the Mechanical (is it?), but can the keys on the Keys be swapped?--again, to rearrange the command keys and make their physical appearance match their function. Oh yea, windows 11.
@@matijacash4555 Nope, tried it. PowerToys doesn't recognize Fn has a normal key you can remap, at least not on the MX Mechanical. I sent that keyboard back to Logitech and got a NuPhy Air75 V2, which is overall a much nicer keyboard and more configurable. (Also preordered the Air95 V2, to see which size I prefer.) MX Mechanical only wins in battery life, though I don't mind charging my keyboard occasionally (and you can still use it while it's plugged in).
@@matijacash4555 Keychron K3 Pro is also an option for a 75% layout (and I think Keychron has some low profile kbs in larger layouts too). I haven't used a Keychron, but folks have said the bluetooth wake time is a bit too slow. Keychron also uses a more angled key profile than logitech or nuphy (both of which are very flat), so that's something to consider as well. Although I wanted to stay in logitech as I've been using a K360 kb with a M510 mouse for years, and looked at the Keys and Mechanical, I'm overall glad I made the switch to the nuphy keyboard instead of sticking to the Mechanical.
My MX Mechanical keyboard number pad started acting up. Works when i key in password but noy work when i type an email. May i know why? Is there something I accidentally disabled? the top panel number keys are still working, but very frustrating when the number pad on the right is not.
I prefer a keyboard which requires minimum force/resistance for a key press. Which is better from this perspective? Also how close is the keys s as compared to Macbook Pro 2017 keyboard?
I got the MX Mechanical and while I liked it initially I am going to return it and buy the MX Keys S instead. The reason is how heavy it feels to press the keys and the keys have a large travel distance. I work as a Software Engineer and it started to bother me immediately. First I thought I will get used to it but after a week it still feels awkward. Update: I just got the MX Keys S and it is a much better typing experience for me. I really like the much shorter key travel. One thing that also bothered me on the mechanical was the ESC key. It was so close to F1 that most of the time when I wanted to press ESC I also hit F1 and it would open the help menu. Now with the MX Keys this issue is gone. Also the placing of the screenshot key above the numeric block is much smarter because it is easier to locate while on the mechanical I always had to search it. It is also much quieter but that didn't bother me with the mechanical and I kinda miss the audible feedback. Overall the MX Keys S is a fantastic keyboard and I am not going to miss the MX Mechanical at all.
Honestly, I feel that the Cougar Luxlim is way better and more durable keyboard than the Logitech MX Mechanical keyboard. The Cougar Luxlim is a low-profile, Red switch keyboard and the actuation is way better too, making for a great typing experience.
Mx keys s is a disastrous experience to me, beside I don't like the touch of the keys, the laser engraving deteriorates since day 7 or so. And the battery length is really bad. Mechanical is much more comfortable. We ll see with time
i had mx keys s for more than 8 month now love it every time no damaged at all even typing all day I wanted a mini keyboard too so was confused between mx keys and mechanical I went with mx keys mini

I am very happy with the mechanical. The touch is so comfortable. The battery last pretty well. Still much better experience than mx keys to me.
Also got the tactile but mine gives an annoying “ping” sound by pressing a button.. Returned it.
Great video. I like the noise test.
Glad you liked it!

could you do a comparison between the G915 TKL vs the MX Mini Mechanical?
just considering this two keyboard! Thank you very much^^

Not from the Logi options app but maybe with third party remapping software. I"m not too familiar with that kind of software.

I’d say they are equal. Keys are very close in color.
I love the Mx mechanical but it's getting harder for me to work long hours due to the increased height of the keys and it makes my wrist hurt!
