Great video! I've been cooking ribs for many years on the grill and in a smoker. I have cooked B. B. ribs in my pressure cooker then finished them off in the oven. Then I have cooked them in the Ninja Foodi pretty much like you did. They have usually come out great cooked just about every way,......but the Ninja is far easier and just as good! Head Country BBQ sauce and rub has been my favorite BBQ flavoring lately. Thanks!
Great video I just have a fast question I believe that they recommend that after you pressure cook and before you air crisp that you drain the liquid from the pot I'm not sure if you did that and forgot to mention it or you just left the liquid in the pot
I have done it both ways and quite honestly I felt there was very little difference... however it is recommended to remove the liquid... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
Lol..I have relocated the light but I doubt there will ever be gator in here unless I'm doing a Louisiana fish...lol...thanks and thank you for watching...then Dawgs had it rough this weekend...
They look delicious can't wait to try them I just heard of about the instant pot duo crisp and and didn't know about the ninja but you both and I am glad of that. I really enjoyed your channel I learned so much from you. can I use this recipe for regular ribs?
I love my foodi, a couple of things I've learned is it will build pressure faster if you preheat liquid using sear/saute feature while prepping food. Also when I crisp, I remove liquid for better crisping.
That's a good idea and I did find in the manual where it did recommend removing the liquid to aircrisp better but none of the recipes I have read say it...Thanks for watching!
They do look good. Real good. A few questions. Maybe I missed it. How much liquid did you use? And what type? Did you leave the liquid in the pot when you went to Air crisp? Off subject how do you merge your videos when you cut in and out?
I usually use at least around a cup of lights when pressure cooking...I have a couple of ways and different software I edit with...I think that one was rush but not sure...thanks for watching!
I do quite often..in fact I just posted some baby backs I did in the new instant pot air fryer/pressure cooker...link posted below...thanks for watching!! ua-cam.com/video/YDLdMpy7mCM/v-deo.html
Hey John, another great video. I do have a question, I notice after you pressure cooked the ribs, you did not remove the liquid before air frying, I assume this is ok. I had watched a video on the CrispLid by Mealthy and they said to remove the liquid before using the air fryer. It's good to know you don't have to on the Foodi. BTW, I have only had the Foodi for two days and have been using continuously since watching all your videos. Thanks
I'm kinda on the fence with removing the water especially on some items like the toast I did in my avacado toast video because I think the moisture or humid air helps the toast (and many other items) from drying out... but some things do need it and the manual does recommend it... sorry for the long answer and I hope it helps... thank you very much for watching my videos and happy cooking in your new foodi!!!
I noticed you didn't empty your liquid after the pressure cooking cycle and left it in for the air crisp. It worked obviously, but when I made my first batch I emptied mine thinking liquid would hurt the crisping process. Any thoughts on this?
I'm not sure, I think it would be a good idea just to cut down on moisture but I didn't remember to do it, i intended to just forgot but it didn't seem to hurt
Jambalaya does sound good and I might try that some day...I have a really good home made chicken soup...no beef yet but here is the link to the chicken..Thank you and thank you for watching!! ua-cam.com/video/-L5c8flSfoE/v-deo.html
OMG the baby-back ribs were fabulously delicious! I cut the pressure time to 17 minutes. I had two sections of ribs with 4 bones each. I put a rub on yesterday so they sat with that on them over 12 hours. I used Bobby Flay’s recipe for a rib rub. I will be using my Foodie a lot thanks to you. You have a new subscriber. God bless you.
Instead of cutting the ribs you can tie it to fit in the basket. (the inner circumstance of the basket) it will fit it exactly. Just like you would tie a rack of lamb. Happy Cooking
I guess my answer would be that vinegar seems to go well with pork and it just seems natural to add it to the cooking liquid, I mean, I'm not sure it helps but I doubt it hurts.
Vinegar is a great complement to any Pork and I also add it to chicken when cooking under pressure as well. I always use the Apple Cider Vinegar because it imparts a little flavor and it helps to tenderize the meat when the steam from pressure cooking it penetrates the ribs. Long before I started pressure cooking I would cook ribs in the oven placing them on a rack and add the vinegar to the pan below them and covered them completely with foil and cook several hours.
I'm very impressed with many recipes including the wings from frozen because of the convenience but there are so many...I guess ribs or chicken.. but that's a hard call...thanks for watching!
So now it is 6 am and now I am starving. I have spent the last 3 hours watching UA-cam Ninja Foodi videos and everything that you have cooked in it. All because the wife talked about getting one, and i haven't heard about it before. I am predicting that Monday night's dinner will be something I just saw you cook. But will it feed a family of 4 with teenagers?
Well I hope I was entertaining and I really appreciate you watching them...as far as a family of four with teenagers..if your teenager's are like mine were you might pick out a recipe that can be done quickly so you can do it twice LOL but I would suggest the hot wings from Frozen, we have pulled that off here a couple of times and with a large bag of frozen wings, some hot sauce and maybe some lemon pepper you can feed a small army...thanks you very much for watching!
Might help if you actually included the actual recipe, you even forgot to mention what liquid you put in the pressure cooker until after you set it. I mean come on man.
Received mine today.. Just got back from the market with Ribs. I am attempting to try this right now. Will comment with a follow-up.

@@JohnSanders , thanks John
@@kathyhanusa8956 no problem!!
great job on those ribs. I need to get a food
Thanks for watching and it is a really neat machine
I noticed you didn't empty your liquid after the pressure cooking cycle and left it in for the air crisp. It worked obviously, but when I made my first batch I emptied mine thinking liquid would hurt the crisping process. Any thoughts on this?
I'm not sure, I think it would be a good idea just to cut down on moisture but I didn't remember to do it, i intended to just forgot but it didn't seem to hurt
Always leave the liquid in when crisping up the meat because it prevents the ribs from drying out on the inside while doing the crisping process.
John,
What was the cook book you were sharing in the video?
That was the recipe book that came with the Ninja...thanks for watching!!
Alright, this one made me subscribe John.....And, I don't even have a Ninja Foodi!
I'll take it!!! thank you very much and thanks for watching!!

Do you have any printed/ written instructions for your recipes?
Not currently... hope to have a website ready before long... thanks for watching!!!
I will be using my Foodie tomorrow but I have half the ribs you have do I cut the time in half?
No...I would reduce slightly but not very much...hope this helps and thanks for watching!
John Sanders I will let you know. Thank you for the super fast reply, I will subscribe. I really like your videos.
I LOVE the Foodi!!!!
It is a great device, it's kept me busy for days
John Sanders my wife is glad I bought...I can’t stop trying to think of things to cook in it.
How do you clean the fan on the lid?
I only have had to wipe the fan guard off with a damp towel...I have never tried to clean the actual fan... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
I wish ninja would make a rib rack for the foodi. I have looked for one that would fit but can't find one.
Not a bad idea...thanks for watching!
Instead of cutting the ribs you can tie it to fit in the basket. (the inner circumstance of the basket) it will fit it exactly. Just like you would tie a rack of lamb. Happy Cooking
@@cassandrageorge5831 that's a good idea..thanks for the tip and for watching the video!
Ninja sells a rib rack for the foodi on their website. www.ninjakitchen.com/parts/0/all/2640/roasting-rack-insert/
Why is apple cider vinegar typically used when pressure cooking ribs?
In addition to the 1/4 c. apple cider vinegar and 1 c. water, I add 1/4 tsp. Liquid Smoke...really adds a lot of flavor!
Hard cider works well also or just plain apple juice,
I've got one incoming this Sunday, any recommendations for first cook out with the ninja?
I'm very impressed with many recipes including the wings from frozen because of the convenience but there are so many...I guess ribs or chicken.. but that's a hard call...thanks for watching!
Is that a pool table?
It was...I actually removed it a while back and put an island whee it was...but that is where I started out...thanks for watching!
+lastniceguy1979 -- Just so you know... there are now 2 sizes of the Foodi: the 6.5 Qt and the 8 Qt.
Go Dawgs!!
Woof Woof Woof...thanks for watching!

Safe plug in 🤣
I like your videos, but please work on your focus issues.
I agree and I am looking into all angles,I have recently changed settings and I think it is better, thanks for watching and commenting!
Might help if you actually included the actual recipe, you even forgot to mention what liquid you put in the pressure cooker until after you set it. I mean come on man.
Sorry about that...I have tried to get a website running to put recipes on but have not been successful yet... thank you for watching...
Looks dry.
It was good...thanks for watching!!!
