After the breakup, your ex goes through many different emotional stages. Those cartoons in the Creative Healing Course are really great. For those that haven't seen them, they basically go "here's this couple, here's what they're like" and then a situation happens that brings up conflict. Then you have a bunch of questions to answer about the situation and how it can relate to your own experiences. Starring Palpatine and others. Probably my favorite part of the course. They seemed silly at first but they're very well done and wind up teaching you a whole lot.

Don't run back to someone who broke you. If they left you as easily as they're trying to get you back....grow as an individual and you'll attract better people who'll surround you.
My wife threatened to divorce barely 3 months after I bought our house, then threatened again 2 months after I renovated the house, and finally a third time 3 months after that. She has 2 younger siblings who moved in with us, and now all 3 of them have moved out. I felt betrayed and heartbroken, having agreed to buy a house for her, putting all the heart and efforts and then she just ended the marriage when things didn't go exactly what she expected. This happened just 2 weeks ago and I am still trying to come to terms. Some days I wish she come back to me, some days I feel angry that she did this to me and just wish I meet someone better.

I made the mistake of keeping in contact with my ex too for about 6 months and he met someone else at work and cut me off. It was all out of no where and he hid it from me.

I love you guys. ♥️♥️♥️ It's been 10 months. My relationship was toxic, with frequent arguing, stonewalling, him belittling me verbally, gaslighting, etc. My ex still finds reasons to talk to me in public, which astounds me as the dumpee, but I don't see a future with him happening or even friendship despite the fact I still love him. Your videos bring me lots of knowledge I hope to use in my next relationship! Wish I could afford coaching and the workbooks, but the videos are teaching me a lot of things I never knew about attachment theory, childhood trauma, etc. Thank you for being THE best dating coaches out there. It is really difficult when both work for the same company.

2) always take a couple of years by yourself after a break-up - whether they want you back or not (and it is never the same if you do get back, so may as well not get back).
What about long distance breakups. Long distance as in different countries. I haven’t seen him in 2 years now. We broke up this June after 1 and a half years of being engaged.

Craig, could you make a video on “my ex didnt come back after a year of no contact”? I know you say it’s always possible unless they are married or pass away, but I feel some of us don’t get exes back and it may be comforting to hear about that experience
I second that suggestion.
I'm my lifetime, none of my exes ever came back. Just reached 5 years of marriage this past July. However, my wife and I have been separated for 9 months now and she's the only one I would ever truly care about coming back or not.
No contact is not a guarantee that your ex will ever come back. It’s respect for you and your ex. It’s about regaining control of you and bettering yourself. If they didn’t want the previous you then your best chances of getting your ex back is being a better version of yourself.
Also pay attention to those that shouldn’t be in relationships and have done you favour. Toxic emotionally damaged people that have a lot of childhood trauma should be avoided and if they’ve dumped you have managed to dodge a really big bullet.
I have read about people that got back together after several years of separation. I have also read about studies that found that it took on average one year and a half for couples to get back together after a breakup. So yeah, in the long run one year might not be enough for a dumper to regret what he or she had. It still depends on a lot of variables like personalities of the two of you, experiences, other potential partners, needs, mental health, and reasons for the breakup etc. pp.
A few of my ex girlfriends came back after I moved on and was dating another Woman. You must let go and don't be afraid of meeting someone better. Stay confident. Good luck
@@Malignantt1 I'm sorry to hear about the situation you're in. My ex wife confessed to cheating on me after I was with her and faithful the entire relationship. Don't do what I did and stay. She obviously treated me like dirt but the problem was.... I accepted that from her. People treat you the way you let them. Don't give up handling your own life and being good to yourself. Don't feel guilty either just walk away from that mess and when she realizes you're not available anymore she will come chasing you. If she doesn't Karma is in her future. Just create your own happiness by trying to chase her. There are so many good woman out there.

She broke up 3 months ago, we still casually slept together for about a month afterwards because of the comfort it gave me. No contact for 5 weeks now, some days go well, some are horrible. I'm waiting for the day where I can move on completely and where my mind stops feeding me with false hope. I blocked her from all social media which make me feel very anxious in the beginning, but it was the best decision I could've made for my own peace of mind. My very first love reached out after nearly 10 years of no contact? We had a child together, young that is grown and beautiful. We both have had relationships, marriage, and other kids since. I watched you 3 years ago and did the work. My ex left me 3 weeks ago. I went into no contact immediatly. Last night she responded to a sliver in my picture post on FB. It was a huge sliver. She texted me this morning and asked how my finger was and told me to get it checked. She texted me this afternoon saying it would be ok if I took her dog for a weekend. Meanwhile I have lost 18 lbs. And have been getting therapy for a terrible childhood that was suppressed and I didnt even know about. The breakup caused so much trauma for me all these memories from childhood came back instead of our relationship memories. I feel 200 percent better after talking about these unresolved memories. I am a new person from letting things go that I didnt even know I was carrying with me. You guys ever seen this. Made me feaful of attaching to her which drove her away.

Exactly, that’s what I noticed with my ex gf. They see the door is always opened whenever they wanna come in they have a free pass. I believe that just alleviates their anxiety so they can keep moving forward easily.
Totally. My boundary regarding that has been: I will take back an ex who dumped me once. Everyone makes mistakes and I can give second chances. But after that, a third, fourth, or fifth chance is just you letting that person walk all over you saying they’re going to change and improve when the relationship has zero intentions of changing.

5 weeks for me. what sucks is when a man says " you're such an amazing woman i dont think i can give you what u want, need and deserve " made no sense to me but i told him its not that he cant its the fact that he doesnt want to try and its a choice. i never asked for much and made it clear that the only thing i wanted was to eventually get married. he knew this from the beginning 2.5 yrs.
Its been 14 months since the breakup and 13 months since he began dating a rebound. Last month he and his rebound broke up. He blamed me for being part of their breakup (since we were still friends during their relationship) and said no contact was best for us so he could date women without me making them jealous and for me to get over him. My ex has some pretty ugly issues among herself and her surrounding environment. Personally- I'm at that point where I realize she lost me- not the other way around- on a potentially amazing guy and that I did more for her than she did for me.
I've moved on. It's been two months. I still miss her- miss what we had- and her looks and smile- but I can't possibly jump back into something like that again. Not with her unless she fixes herself.

How about a situation where my ex wife (20 years apart) prior to spending a lot of time together from March through June? We never became intimate at all, but spent most days together, usually with her kids from her 2nd marriage. We did spend the night together in the same bed 5x, just sleeping unfortunately. She said she wanted to be just friends, but I’ve told her I wasn’t interested in that at all.
Well, my ex keeps saying i dumped her because i gave her a choice to stay or leave. So she left. She started dating ine of my friends. I dont knownif thats still going. Im just working on me. Im sad and heartbroken but i cant wait on her to figure herself out
Your example about the cat made me remember me missing my ex's dog after break up 2 years ago ahahaha 😂 But i genuinely missed the dog. Although i never contacted him about it to not give false hope. Maybe dumpers do miss the cat sometimes. We get attached to pets too. I had a good relationship with the dog for 4 years since it was a little puppy.

She did still love me during to breakup, it was just for her mental health I think, I did truly feel she was "the one" everything was perfect in my eyes, just was in a bit of a rut with myself.
She never communicated how she was feeling about anything. And is the 2nd time she blindsided me, though I kinda deserved it.

My ex unblocked me on facebook after 7.5 months while with her bf she monkey branched too. Started to post stuff about how move on without getting an apology. And then starts posting that she got engaged. So I blocked her. I think the engagement is fake and she's just looking for a reaction.

I'm 73, and living in an isolated part of central France, with no friends, no surviving family, and I hardly ever see anyone. My wife left me three months ago, after a series of disagreements, none of which I considered very serious, although her drinking was often the root cause of them. She arranged with her daughter and son in law, also living in France, to help collect her stuff and move her out one Sunday. She left our collie dog and cat for me to look after.
I haven't heard a word from her (not even to enquire after our animals), or her family, since - I always got on with them all.
So it seems that the relationship is irrevocably, and totally over, despite having known her for nine years, and married for four of them. I feel as if I've been switched off, the fuse withdrawn, and the power cut off.
I am devastated, and finding things very difficult.

What if it’s the second breakup from them coming back before, we made it a year and a half in a 3 and a half year relationship and we still had some challenges to overcome but were making progress and then she just hit a breaking point and left and it was very emotional and I know I didn’t want that and she hated that she had to but didn’t know what else to do I’m devastated because she is truly my soulmate I know we both deeply felt that and have a deep bond and love just had miscommunication and misunderstanding issues that still needed to be worked on and figuring out that balance in those moments

im so triggered tonight. i think i do it to myself bc i dont actively use fb and i just go on there to see what my ex has been doing bc he hasnt been posting on insta.( we still have eachother on there) he didnt delete any of our pictures, i have deleted almost all of them from mine looks like he doesnt care. its been 5 weeks of nc since the day of the breakup . his post stated he has been single for a few months and he seems to just be filling his time with jeep stuff and using fb as his venting . his son is leaving and all 4 of his kids will be living out of state with their mother (all over 18 except 1.) i hope he starts to really feel anxious once his son and all kids are gone. im starting to get angry . i wanna be over this. 😩 im working on the workbooks but still its so hard.
What about being broken up with because your ex doesn’t feel he’s good enough to be with you without being brave enough to have a conversation about it? Bonus, he still wants to be “friends”. I’m trying to be friendly, but am in pain because he’s so close but still so far. He even told me he was just in my building doing a delivery, and that I must’ve felt him since I happened to reach out that day. It’s nerve wracking! I have NO idea what he’s thinking. All I know is that he’s avoiding me but still wants to be connected. He’ll ghost at whim, and will be light and friendly when he wants to connect. He told me past girlfriends have simply stopped responding to him. I essentially did that in the early courting stage but he still would reach out every few months for 2 years. I finally decided to see if we could be a thing and fell for him. 8 months into it he deactivated after a series of him making a few mistakes. I broke up with him, the next day he asked to talk. Never happened. A month later poof, breakup text. Wtf.

Wish my ex was like some of the examples they gave, but knowing her, once she made up her mind, she sticks to it. But, like Craig says, feelings change, and I still have faith. Besides, my breakup is still early, 6 weeks tomorrow.

sometimes when my anxiety is up to the roof, after hearing Margaret it really soothes me :).. it has been 1 month and a half NC since the last he reached out after 3 weeks of the break up :( i haven't watch your videos back then and i just didn't know what to do.. i didn't do the manipulating though and i didn't brought up about the break up i just replied to him normally.. but then i think my anxiety caught me to do something that i shouldn't do.. i just don't know whether i blew my chance or not.. so i just go on another no contact.. now i actually thankful for the break up though, because now i know more about myself and my attachment issues.. i want to be better if he come back.. i hope so

Hopefully so. She broke up with me even though I know I was as good of a boyfriend as I could have been. Not perfect mind you, but pretty darn good. It makes me sad to think that me putting in the constant effort to be a good boyfriend was not good enough for her. But than I also know that one day she will look back and realize what she gave up and most likely regret it at some point. I've been in NC for two months now and she blocked me pretty much everywhere right after the break up. I didnt even beg her or anything she just did it right away. I partially think she is ashamed because she knows how hard it would be for me and the likely reason she wanted to break up. I also think she might be taking it hard, but that's only my gut feeling, nothing else. As much as it sucks and I want this feeling to end, I also just dont know if she will ever have to courage to reach out even if/when she gets to the stage of regret.

It's not linear, but what is the timeline here? Can they have these thoughts after...5 months? After dating others? After feeling so infatuated / in love with someone? After ignoring you? After moving on? Or they only reconsider after the first 30 days no contact when the breakup is still very fresh?
Sorry to tell you that, but often times an ex does not regret the break up to such an extent that they will want you back ever again. More often than not the relationship is gone for good.

I will say that I had a girl I was dating maybe about 10 months ago, I broke it off with her. So I was the one that didn’t want to make it work.

He love bombed me, then decided he could do much better or that "he couldn't be in a relationship", but while he couldn't get much better he tried to flirt back with me (just friends...sure) until he did get the better girl and I'm no longer needed. After 5 months he forgot me. Attachment isn't enough. Those kisses are of sorrow. Pity.
@@ivydune4185 in my experience even after they’ve fallen in love with someone else, they quickly realize that falling in love and being in love are different. That’s when they start to compare the love they had for their ex versus the infatuation type of love they feel for their rebound. They know it’s not the same but this process takes at least 3-4 months because the honeymoon stage in rebounds are a lot shorter than the honeymoon stage in relationships that are started for all the right reasons. Problem is even when they’re comparing, or thinking about you or even want to reach out to see how you’re doing...pride and fear get in the way of them wanting to do anything about their feelings. Some will reach out but others will just push through the feelings and move on. That’s really the only difference between those who come back and those who don’t. But dumpers always go through the same grief process. It’s just what they do about it that makes the difference.

Yeah unless he works on himself he’ll just do the same things if you took him back. Hard part is...you can’t help him. My ex is avoidant too but they can’t work on the themselves in a relationship because they just end up blaming the other person for why they feel what they feel instead of understanding that avoidance is unhealthy regardless if they’re with you or not.

@@RHammer1983 If nothing else, this serves to show the power of anxiety in a break up. I was essentially moved on. Now out of the blue, I am questioning things again, stupidly trying to mind read, straight back on Craig Kenneth videos looking for insight etc. I know I'm looking at that from a dumpee perspective, but if all humans are similar, she must also have these same thoughts just in the act of reaching out even if it is just for some items , whatever they may be.
As I've seen Craig himself say before, women don't contact men they aren't interested in. They just don't.
