The first time my brother hit his wife with a closed fist she called me. I told her the truth about the violence we grew up with. She filed for divorce when my brother refused to get counseling. She never told him I told her. Neither did I. He bad mouthed her for the rest of his life, never admitting it was his fist that ended the relationship.

The next day was the funeral and my husband got mad at me because I was walking around talking to people (my family) and ignoring him. He got so mad he stormed out.

Talking to someone over the internet does not mean you know them. They could be a serial killer. Wise up. Sister doesn’t need to apologize on the second story. You know my dumb female brain can't keep track of every girl you fvck when you just have so many hun. Besides, it's not like you actually liked her anyway, right?" He'd probably go along with that to keep face, and then I'd just ignore it him.
Like, he only brought that girl around to show off and brag to his dad, and if he thinks all women are stupid than Id just act stupid and move in the shadows. 😂 "Oh, you're just so much smart than me. My dumb female brain got confused!" 😮

When my sister died back in 1986 (I was 25), my ex told me, "I don't want to hear about it..." So I pretended I was 'over it' for years until I left him (he beat me up at the end, and I came to my senses). Then, years later when my mother died, all the grief from my sister came back that I hadn't been able to express and I had two deaths to process. My husband now (who I met a couple years after leaving my ex), was there for me 100%.

My partner was only dating me for 6 months when a fall triggered a major chronic pain disorder. It ramped up fast, aggravating and intensifying arthritis and many injuries from a lifetime of hypermobility. It ended up with me (who was the major breadwinner) out of my job, fighting for and finally getting disability, and losing almost all the ground I'd gained over the years of my life with my mental health. I'm now disabled, fighting agoraphobia, depression, anxiety, ptsd (along with severe ADHD and a few other private issues). and several surgeries and many doctors in and he's still here. Right by my side. It will be 11 years in October.
Some partners really do know how to love no matter what.
And when my young adult son was diagnosed with leukemia in 2021 and i was by his side in the hospital as often as the covid rules (or the nurses bending them) would let me, my partner was right there to drive this terrified mom to and from and holding me at night to cry on his shoulder after spending all day letting my baby boy cry on mine. (Oh and he's 3 years in remission and going strong!) 2021 sucked.

After everything u've gone thru & are continuing to go thru, u deserve a good man. It's the least karma, God, fate, the universe or life in general could do for u to try & balance the scales. You seem like a good person who got thrown a very horrible curve ball in life & that the only way to go is up. My hope for u is continued success in ur relationship & that ur life is continuously filled with happiness & joy even if or when things get bad with ur physical/mental health, which I hope continue to improve. As a person with my own detrimental health issues I know how hard life can get, to the point of constantly feeling like ur drowning with no end in sight. No matter what we're going thru it makes it easier to handle when we have somone to lean on support. Glad ur able to have that

Also when they went to the Fair she didn't mention her child so I am assuming she did not bring him with them (maybe left him with a babysitter but who knows) and that the guy was jealous of a 4 YEAR OLD KID for wanting to shake hands with her, so if he was already being posesive and jealous of a child what could have he done to her son?!. Storytime. I dated an indy musician. He wrote me a few love songs and poems. They were all super intense and sappy. But he was more serious than I was. It got to the point where it was cruel not to dump him (even though I quite liked him. He just wasnt "the one"). Fast forward a few months. Im single. Im on a first date. Guy im on a date with says hes taking me to a concert. SURPRISE! Its my ex's band. And...hes got a new song. And its really REALLY good. But the lyrics?... Yeah, they are not very flattering. I couldnt do it, I was torn and feeling guilty from both angles. I didnt want to inconvenience my husband, but it was tearing me up inside to not go be at my dads side.. So what does my husband do?
Husband fully plans and budgets a two week road trip to see my dad. On the road he picks out spots to take breaks so the drive doesnt seem as long. He books hotels and air b&b, he plans EVERYTHING. He plans for things the kids will do EVERY DAY. Only thing I had to do was drive half portions on the way there and on the way back.
I dont deserve my husband sometimes.. I wouldnt even have thought about the rest stops at kid's museums and stuff along the way.. and a lot of them were so awesome.. My phone gave me a notification of running out of storage space cause I took so many pictures of this wonderful family trip to see my dad..

My now Ex-wife and I were together for 5 years. Through our relationship she had serious health problems and they required emergency surgery multiple times. These were surgeries that caused her to be in the hospital for weeks and then unable to be alone for her extensive rehabilitation. I stayed by her side and took care of her during each time it happened. Now, I had a major surgery and due to her own health problems she couldn't take care of me as much as I did her; no problem. 2018 rolls around and she has been better but not back at 100% and after I took on 3 jobs I was so worn down that I ended up getting pneumonia - 103° fever, too weak to walk, etc. Well, one night after we got back from the ER due to me being so sick she wanted some spicy time and I reminded her that I was in no shape for it. After I knocked out she went and cheated on me because I couldn't give her what she wanted. It was my fault she cheated, yada yada yada. To say that was the final straw and hurt like no other would be an understatement. I mean, I had been there through every single hospital stay, ER stint, changing dressings on wounds, etc but her being there for me (I was so weak I had to army crawl to the bathroom, ffs) was too much to ask. My stepdaughter was home that night as well so my Ex didn't just abandon me but also left her daughter to go get some with another guy who was married.

I (26) had a coworker (24) who I’d known for about a month when we met my husband (24) and his brother (22) while out. She started dating my now brother in law and I obvs dated my husband. I knew she had a particular, common disease obtained by doing the horizontal mambo and asked her if she’d had the conversation with BIL. She said absolutely so I didn’t think it was for me to say anything to BIL, especially as hubby and I were casual at the time. I mean, they were both of age and should know how to discuss something like that. About 8 months down the road, BIL has ghosted her and she has moved on. I mention that it’s great because the guy she’s with has the same disease. BIL was driving and the car came to a screeching halt in the middle of a very busy road and he slow motion turned to look at me in the backseat. Twenty years later and it’s still a thing but he can’t bring it up because SIL doesn’t know our true origin story and he’d have to explain how much he slept around😂. I never had to say anything, anyways. Mom took care of it by telling him when he asked what she thought of SIL that she’d tell him if she was still around in 6 months.

Granted I had to go pick up my daughter from her lazy dad because his “tire was flat” (he let the air out of the tire so he didn’t have to bring her back) but after that I made sure to bring him whatever he needed and then there was the hospital lock down due to a mass shooter (may all those people rest in peace) for a couple days so I couldn’t see him but I called him all the time both of those days even though he was coming home.

Two weeks after my father's passing, we were invited to a couples weekend away. I declined, my husband, told me, you have too much sadness around you, get over it. We separated that day.

I dated a man for about a year, things didn’t work out. It just wasn’t the right timing, but we remained good friends… and ONLY friends. He died very unexpectedly from a pulmonary embolism. This was about five months after I had started dating someone else. Now, let me remind you that I was still very good friends with my ex because friendship is what brought us together before anything else did. Understandably, I was devastated over his death. Because I was upset and crying the night he died, my boyfriend dumped me. Now I’m just talking about being upset and crying because one of my best friends and someone who I loved dearly died, not being dramatic or ridiculous in anyway over it. And he literally dumped me and left that night because I was not “paying enough attention to him on his night off”. There are some real pieces of shit in this world unfortunately.

I was a very selfish significant other at the time, our relationship was rocky because of it. But I stepped up, I showed up to his treatments, spent time with him, helped him get cleaned up when he had a bad reaction during a treatment. Ever since then, things have been infinitely better. We've been together for 25 years (married 16) now, and he's in full remission. In sickness and in health really does apply to the whole relationship. That woman was awful.

For the story about the sister telling the truth about her brother NTA. 80-90% of the time telling the truth is not an AH thing to do. If the person suffers consequences from their actions that is on them. There are things like identity and sensitive topics that are so specifically about the people involved it is none of your business. Cases like this where one person involved will likely be hurt by the lie you are not the AH.

I'll judge all I want and judge hard. I don't care what she does with her own life. She's an adult and it's her decision on whether she takes such risks with her life and safety. But her child had no say in this. She's a mother and her number one responsibility is to keep that child safe from danger and to keep herself safe so she can take care of him. Instead, she placed both of them in danger. THEN she got scared and what did she do? She ran and locked herself in the bathroom. Leaving her child unattended and in the house with a lunatic she was afraid of. Nope. Don't tell me not to judge her.
As for the father? Those are some are some REALLY big assumptions you're making there. I repeat. If I were this child's father, I'd be in court getting custody.

This makes me so thankful for my man. We met 15 years ago, that year was really rough on me as my body was dying and no one could figure out why. About a week after we officially started dating, I was once again hospitalized but this time for a long time. Four, almost five months to be exact. I was told I wouldnt survive as they couldnt figure out why I kept losing weight, losing blood without bleeding anywhere, and I straight up looked like a dead body. My doctor once yelled out loud "Oh my God, I've only ever seen that color on a week old dead body!!" And she then slapped her mouth and apologized for her knee jerk reaction to seeing me. She couldnt understand how I was standing on my own two feet. It was really bad. I had to get blood transfusions randomly many times over the weeks and months, sometimes several times a week. I was tested with every possible way of testing a body, going radioactive, swallowing cameras, weird ass scans, bone marrow biopsies, cfs biopsies etc. My man came to the hospitals despite himself having extreme anxiety around medical staff. He met most of my family at the hospital and saw me lose a lot of friends. At several points I had to sit him down and ask him to leave me and find someone healthy and he kept saying he saw a long future for us. He's not a psychic or anything, tho he really did sound like it the way he spoke about how I was gonna make it and get better and we were gonna be happy. Nearing the fifth month, they found two large masses that somehow had eluded all other tests and they sent me to a fourth hospital, one that specialized in cancer. Long story long; it wasnt cancer, it was long lost remnants of appendicitis gunk that kept absorbing me up from the inside, from when my appendix had burst 8 years earlier.
I spent a lot of years in and out of rehab hospitals and centers to rebuild my body, repair the damages and discovering more issues like Ehlers danlos syndrome that was infinitely made worse by the eight year long infections, and a bunch of other issues that often accompany eds. Im also currently undergoing new tests for other shit and yet again my man is right here, comforting me every step of the way, calming my anxiety and trauma responses.
The past 15 years with him have been the best of my life. He makes me scream-laugh every day, calms my nerves, makes me smile all the time, always make me feel desired and beautiful. Right now Im giving it all back after he had a very bad knee injury during his floorball practice three weeks ago. They've discovered he has ruined knees and told him he shouldnt ever play floorball again. (We'll see about that. He loves that sport so much and is a several times champion, I dont see him staying away for more than one season)... So Im spoiling him every single day, making sure he has enough cold/heat treatments for his knee, always have something to eat and drink nearby, and make sure he reaches his playstation controllers and other gear. I've already talked to my physical therapists to get him in with them the second he's cleared for physio. I absolutely hate seeing him in this state. He is not made for sitting on his butt all day and not being up and about, and I hate seing him in pain, but that man deserves everything I can possibly do for him so I lowkey love that I can finally be the one to take care of him after all this time!
I have no idea how I found such an amazing guy, but I have loved him since the second I laid my eyes on him. I still remember the first day I saw him and how he took my breath away, all the while thinking such a guy would never look twice at me. Yet he chose me. And he treats me like a queen, which I dont deserve! How he has stuck with me all this time I will never understand. So many left my life when I got sick, and especially when I was dying. Yet he still chose to be with me. He came to see me in the hospital every chance he got. I had to learn to let him see me without my hair and makeup done so fast!! But he's the best! He makes my life so rich, I dont miss a thing! We celebrated 15 years together back in May and I've loved every single moment.

Nothing in romance novels is real, just like nothing in romance movies is real. Real life and real love doesn't work that way. Someone who truly loves you doesn't give a shit about how many people you slept with before you got together. My husband and I didn't care about any of that from the beginning, and to this day are truly just happy spending time together and being around each other. He is my biggest supporter and safe space, all the while we are still really romantic and sexually attracted to each other. Our sex life now is better than it ever has been. And it is all that way because of the foundation we have always had since the beginning which is built on 3 things: full trust in one another, complete respect for each other, and always having open and honest communication (even when we may be annoyed or mad at each other). That is what a healthy and long term relationship/marriage is supposed to be. It's not anything like this BS we are fed through the media and whatever else, especially all misogynistic crap that some men (and women) try to pass off as reality when it is so far from the truth it is just so ridiculously laughable.

Uhm that may be a cultural thing (or a “western” thing), because a lot of minorities and certain belief systems value someone who hasn’t had a lot of partners (& that goes for both the men and women).
So to say “if someone really loves you” they won’t care, is generalizing and just untrue. They may very well love the person deeply, but also feel very strongly about their beliefs… and that’s okay, they’re allowed to have those beliefs, just as you’re allowed to have yours.

Wow your mom was at least trying to be honest with you about what happens at an age where you could start thinking about it and not be peer pressured by some guy. A lot of young women at that time their mothers didn't talk to them at all mine didn't. She wasn't even truthful about her own situation. Wasn't honest about being shoved into a marriage by a guy that was too old for her and that he got drunk and beat her and killed the baby she was carrying and she was only 20 at the time. Was going through the death of her father just a few months before he met her and her mother had abandon her and left the state due to the death of her dad. Thus leaving her a vulnerable victim. She never even told her own daughter I found this out because I became very close to her mother who admitted that by her own destructiveness she'd put her daughter in harm's Way. If mothers would talk truthfully to their daughters about what they've been through maybe their daughters wouldn't go through s***. As far as the virginity thing yeah I wish I had been more careful. I really did fall in love deeply with someone but his values of wanting a virgin in honorable person He tried he tried really hard to understand that I wasn't a virgin We even got married but it didn't work I just won't go into it but it didn't work His parents couldn't let it work There were other things but there's nothing worse than having your spouse call you a w****.

Bc I ignored a ton of signs and red flags so finally I was given a situation that while it hurt like hell… I couldn’t ignore it. And led to me finding my partner I’ve now been with for 7yrs 🎉

The most amazing is when a sickness becomes the cause of the reason why you meet your partner. My hubby saw my Facebook profile on a group about the decease we both have and the fact we both have a ostomy, no one can understand each other as we do and the fact is incurable and we both are "rare" case. He's just a awesome human being, a amazing father for both of his children (who I love so much and as I didn't been able to have mine I'm super close) and just imagine a hubby who love your mom and accept her to the point she live with us. ❤

9:11 I just want to say, sometimes when people say “you don’t want me anymore because I’m sick” it’s not because they’re being petty & an asshole.. it’s because they’re so sick that they know they can no longer give you the things you want like produce children for you, live long enough to possibly get married & buy a house & sometimes you don’t want them to watch you get sicker & you would rather them be able to go out & find someone that can still give them the things they want & be there for the long haul & someone they won’t have to watch lose their hair & have nose bleeds & throw up from chemo & radiation & be unsure if you’re gonna live or die
