    I love all of Paul Elkins’ designs! BTW 71 cm is 2 feet 4 inches or 28” not 2.8 feet!

      Well, 2.4 feet is closer than 2.8 feet, cheers!

    Nice boat. I have the design akso and want yo build it also. But i first finish my quadcamper. After that i want to build a trailer and the boat, so i can pull it with my quad.
    I am only thinking to use xps plates instead of wood.

      That sounds like a great idea. I would enjoy seeing your builds.

    Love the boat. I built one from the same plans...fun boat to build for sure. Mine is a bit different if you want to check it out on youtube. I had to widen mine a couple inches due to me weighing 250lbs, but it hauls me fine. Great job on yours!

      that's a great looking boat mate :) do you find it a little top heavy at all?

      The cab don't seem to affect it's stability, but I had never piloted the boat without the cab to see if there is a difference. I will say that I am glad I widened the boat a few inches. It feels like if it we're much narrower it would be tippy, but it is actually pretty stable for it's size once you are sitting down.

      @@ckangaroo70 yeah they do have that tippyness about them. i do have plans for another boat with my next focus being on stability.

    Hi there, Great little boat you have there. Have you done a build video? I would love to see it!You kindly gave us the length and width dimensions but no sizes for the sides? Would it be to impertinent of me to ask what they were and how much freeboard you have when afloat? Thank you so much. Dave UK

      Not sure of how much freeboard i get sorry. i was planning a build video for another boat i have been planning on building. as you may have notice i tend to move slow with things :)

    I built one of these
    I used a 38 lbs thrust motor I get 3.5 mph
    what do you get ??

    • @dazthecowboy
      @dazthecowboy  5 років тому

      sorry for my incredibly slow reply haha. you know what, i actually have no idea of my speed. i can say it's a slight jogging pace at full throttle. i do have a 92lbs motor i was planning on putting in it. but it is a 24v system so i have plans on another build later i will put that in. I've seen you rubber duck. be nice to see more of your boat mate :)

    what was the cost of the build if u dont mind me asking

    • @dazthecowboy
      @dazthecowboy  5 років тому +1

      About $1800AUD in total. Including batteries and motor.

    • @levivangenderen5914
      @levivangenderen5914 5 років тому

      dazthecowboy ok cool I just have one more question what motor strength would u recommend

    • @dazthecowboy
      @dazthecowboy  5 років тому +1

      @@levivangenderen5914 i got a 56lbs of thrust on mine. I got a 98lb'er but it's 24v. I went with the largest 12v i could fit only because i already had the battery and couldn't afford to setup up a 24v system. I tend to go by the rule. If in doubt, add more power. Budget willing of course.
