I've always wanted a minibike as a kid. It never happened. I was however, lucky enough to have friends that did own minibikes. Ha Back when times were so much more less complicated.
so whats stoppin ya now????? get your arse in the garage and start building . you only live once, might as well make it something to remember right???? growing up is optional growing old is mandatory. live like theres no tomorrow.
Kenny B same here.. I never had one as a kid growing up (wait that's a lie.. but after the first day my brother came over caught it on fire and it burned up.. and I got whooped for it, cause my brother dipped right afterwards) but anywho I bought 3 now I have 2 kids boy and girl.. we just started this year.. I also bought 4 engines that we are all together going to be building as a family.. it's never to late to bring out the kid in all of us.. but to experience now with my children its priceless.. much love.
I'm disabled and bored so I'm buying a welder soon to make my own balanced frames for racing applications and leisure time cruisers. I recently moved to the #WestSide of Detroit and with the mini bike traffic I see around here, I'm sure to make a dent in the sales of machines out here real soon. This video,( and others ) only confirm what I told my Wife. Yep, it's lookin' like I'll have something to do this coming year in 2021 for sure, so look for some choppers to hit the scene soon on the #WestSide of the 313 and remember to watch out for pot holes out there everyone, 'cause road rash #SuxAss ! ~ 12 Block Tokie ~ Detroit, Michigan
Thank you for your support and inspiration to our city (Detroit) and the overall minibike culture and community!! Contact me if you would like to do business in the future. Thank you.
you should make some videos of you making frames and filling them out. it would help boost some hype around them and possibly be making commissioned work. plus throw in some smoking to keep the fans real with ya.
Yall ever bring em to StL? I don't build, but I know there's a couple builders in the city. They cruise thru StL and traffic. Alot of drag builds. Great job and bout to go check out more! Keep on keeping on!!!!
Thats was pretty cool. Even tho it looked like dude in the tshirt was in front of the line a lil and gave himself a scoot, the blue dude still looked like he won. Awesome yall!!!
i remember as a kid and racing minibikes at the Saddleback Motorcycle Park in Santiago Canyon, Southern California. I was sponsored and raced for " The Hawk " Racing Team. I rode a modified Zebra Mini Bike, with a 6 horse Techumshe motor punched out with a mikuni 26 carburetor running nitro methane using a torque convertor putting 12 horse to the rear wheel. I was clocked at speeds in access of 60 to 70 miles per hour. Those were the day's.
That is some serious budget racing! Best of all, you can (most of the time) find a cop-less area to run these things. I doubt the money is as big as street racing in cars, but it seems like these have far less commitment. Way to go figuring out ways to taking the ubiquitous minibikes to levels like this!
Extremely impressed with a number of your fast bikes ! I am paralyzed from my shoulders down, and interested in building an old school mini-bike ! Would any of you be willing to help me with my project !? Thank you !
Thank you my friend, Detroits car and bike scene treats people like family. It’s the Motor city and we welcome everyone that shows respect to our culture!
I love this stuff man I'm 50 and had mini bikes like this but no where near as fast. I would like to see the city sponsor some kinda weekend events or relax laws in areas to let it be more of a outlaw gathering.
@@briannotafan3368 In the mid. 70's my cousin took a 32 horse power sachs snowmobile engine and converter assembly and put it on a standard go cart , it topped out at 110 M.P.H. ! AND he raced and BEAT every muscle car from the 60's and 70's AT NIGHT WITH NO HEADLIGHTS ! All you'd hear is the scream of the 32 h.p. then the howl of a 4 barrel , 6 barrel or 2 - 4 barrels way behind him !
If y'all look close enough there's no chain guides on all these bikes that's hella sketchy but scarry but so cool all in one if ya wanna loose body parts if chain snapped
Very cool 😎, I see this as racing in it’s truest sense 👍 It is amazing how they get the speed they do out of these little beasts! ….sorry I’m so late for the party.
Early 70's we built a mini bike from hell. Lol. We took a stolen Kawasaki S-1 three cylinder 250 cc two stroke engine and mounted it in an old Cushman scooter frame. A little fab work and some poor welding and that thing would fly. You sat way down low like an old school chopper. Screaming 250 cc between your legs and your ass about 3 inches off the pavement. It was scarey fun. It would do about 70 mph with those fat Cushman tires.
I am sure these would perform better with a torque converter instead of a centrifugal clutch you would not have to push off and the clutch would not strain
Best of all mini bikes, scooters, mo-peds and go-karts all share the same running gear more or less. With compatibility of performance parts that is easy to build in from the start. Custom variators and centrifual clutch's shared between scooters, karts etc.
WRONG ! decades ago on my mini bike i learned ( first hand ) that a " clutch " is best for acceleration / racing and a " torque converter " is best for hauling more than 1 person / climbing hills .
I had a mini bike with a 8horse Tecumseh snow blower engine on it...I had to ride a passenger on the front to keep from wherlstanding all the time ...I went through clutches like chewing gum!

Your funny dude! These are modded out GX200 engines. They are four cycles first of all, and no way in hell 80cc would be doing something this quick. Also, they would sound more like chainsaws or weed eaters. If you think thats the case your deaf. The thing with these engines is that you can get everything for them. Cams, HC heads, carbs, and EVERYTHING that goes into a four cycle. They can be bored out quite a bit due to the block design. But hey, you apparently already know it already so w/e.
In 1977 I put a 230 cc Villiers 2 stroke engine into a Bonanza minibike, 80 mph+, it was INSANELY FUN!!!

Nice. Good racing that doesn't break the bank.
Those little bikes are badass!
They need a channel on TV I’d watch this show more on the bikes . This is something most people can get into. More of this for sure
they did but the person who created the channel passed away, I use to watch their videos all the time.
should tighten that loose chain, it'd be faster
and allot better
and a chain cover dont want your arm to be cut off by a broken chain.
word up ppl laugh when i tell them that so ill wait just so i can say see stupid?
any tips on home-made (temporary) chain-tensioners? I've seen it done with a skateboard wheel..
No it will snap the chain if tightened from the power

do they ever go to the thunderdrome races? it's a racetrack in Detroit for mopeds, bikes, and minibikes only

the 420 is big and heavy. We get way more power out of the 212, Honda or Titan. We bump them up to 26hp
