    Every year when I make these, they barely make it to Christmastime! Pickled green tomatoes are my favorite!!

    I used to can green tomato mince meat . This time a year so it would be ready for pies and bread during the Holidays. Haven’t made it in years was always a favorite of my Parents and Husband who have all passed. Good memories

    I use to make piccalilli with green tomatoes; my family loved it with roast beef. Also made a green tomato n pepper relish.

    Love these pickles with fried catfish like at caddo lake catfish restaurant in Texas. I got green tomatoes at a local farmers market today.

    Lightbulb moment! I made Aunt Bea pickled green tomatoes last year.(Mayberry fans will know the reference) They were mush. Now I know why. I needed to salt the tomatoes. Thanks Constance. I'll try it one more time.

      I was just going to ask why the salted them prior? But I’m guessing it’s because they will get mushy?

      I just made that mistake with my beautiful green tomatoes. Now that I know better, I will do better on the next batch.

    I made them last year .. that okay but we didn't like them enough to make this again this year .. so using all my green tomatoes to make sweet green tomato relish

    Loving the new tattoo. Is it leaves or butterflies? I tried to watch close but couldn't tell for sure. Enjoyed the pickled tomatos we eat these with fried catfish, alot. God is Good.

    Can the salt be reduced to half , I’m salt sensitive ? Also half the garlic ? Those look very scrumptious ❤️. 👍👍

      The salt in the canning process (in the jars) can be cut in half, and the garlic can as well.

    I’ve never tasted a green tomato pickle, but your recipe looks fantastic! May have to try this recipe. Question - are they actually somewhat crisp? Nothing worse than a soggy pickle 😣

    Minced gailc real garlic is better
