Thanks for these tips, when I bought my first DA polisher last month and it really didn't do anything. It wasn't until I learned the included pads where NOT intended for cutting/compounding that I bought better pads. I was under the impression the compound mattered most so I bought Meguairs UC, still the "better" pads where all right they did some but I wasn't satisfied with my time spent getting little results removing light oxidation/water spots. I could spend 10 mins working a section and it was hardly noticeable compared to the area I hadn't worked on my Honda's paint. I bought this pad and it has made the process 4-5x's fast I actually feel like I'm accomplishing something with my time now, and that the money and hours spent previously where not wasted.
I love how informative and useful Brian’s videos are! With all my tinkering of different things, I should bring my car to Apex to fix it the right way! 😂
Brian, your method has been adopted by myself and have taught it to my shop and staff. I absolutely can't thank you enough for this. It has improved our turn around times, improved customer satisfaction ratings, and lowered our operation cost. HUGE THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION YOU SHARE
Huge part of my arsenal with 3D1. I keep a lot of other combinations I’ve seen you work with. Like a golf bag, sometimes you a driver or a putter and all the woods and irons in between. I’m hooked on Sonax perfect finish and now the Angelwax line., Perfect polish has a place with the right customer too.
Amazing pads.. I heard about them on one of your videos and I bought to try and I was super impressed.. If I have a car with light scratches I use this pad with sonax cut and finish and it works amazing.. If car is bad shape I go with cut max and then second step perfect finish and some of polishing Lake Country pad... Thanks again sir.. You are the best...
I just used this pad with Koch Chemie M302 on a white Subaru Forester, and wow. Your right. Huge improvement. Important note: keep the pad clean, and switch to new pad occasionally.
These pads are excellent for paint correction. I used these with Jescar compound on a 15 year old car and the finish I achieved was phenomenal. You could probably use this with 3D One and still get great results.
Absolutely! 3D One on a 50/50 pad Stellar results on a black Toyota 4Runner. I have a bad habit of using too much polish. Had to really clean up the pad between passes.
@@craig.encinitas Do they make Uro fiber pads geared more for cutting? I believe I've seen ones meant for polishing and the 50/50 pads but not ones geared for more cutting...not that I think it matters because if those 50/50 pads and high quality correction cream can't do, nothing can.
Ditto! I have the Maxshine M15 and both of the Buff and Shine Euro Fiber two Combo Pads (Cut and Polish) + the 3D One. Absolutely love them! All thanks to Apex Detail recommends.
@@tundrawhisperer4821 Check out their website and videos on the full line. There is the 50/50 black/white color blend pad and then a complimenting black color only polish pad. I didn't realize it was available either until I saw a combo box called the Buff and Shine Reflection Artist. I have not expensed for the box set but did buy 2 of each microfiber pad so I can clean and dry one between panels. Great results on my latest C6 Centennial Corvette. Both are so very simple to use.
Just tried this pad using G9, worked great with Sonax 04 06 on troubled areas of my 06 Pontiac Vibe.Protected with TW hybrid ceramic, very pleased. Glad to hear you're planning on bringing Mail Call back. Hats off Sir.
Great video Brian, it was your first video review on these pads that made me go out and purchase them. Have used them many times since then and absolutely love using them in one step scenarios. I just want to say thanks as always and hope you have a great Fathers Day weekend.
Thanks Brian. So glad I invested in these pads. Working on a very neglected black work van today with "ghosting" from vinyl decals. 😣 Gonna give Meguiar's Ultimate Compound a go. Lot of real estate to cover but super flat panels!! 👍
Thank you so much for your input and explanation of products, with chemicals and pads! I really enjoy watching your videos and have learned a lot and got better in detailing because of you
Yes!! This is the video I needed today. A vendor just gave me one of the Uro Fiber pads for free (part#592MFP). I can't wait to go use it. I've only ever used lake country foam pads before for paint correction.

Polishing...cutting...and finishing.... Probably for me the area where I feel most exposed and most confused.. So many polish and compound options...so many pad types and manufacturers. Do I experiment or do I stick with one brand and become proficient. Even more complex given as a weekend warrior I'm not polishing on a daily basis. Then you throw in the different paint types the different clear coats and the level of correction needed from swirls to scratches. So thanks for a little more information to help in deciding what's the best path to take
Could you recommend or do a video on how to clean/protect German cabriolet hoods on their vehicles such as Audi/Mercedes. This area seems very difficult to get clear successful information on in how to approach and what to use. Just an idea. Thanks 👍
That’s what I’m talking about loving it I just purchased the 3D one and I purchase few different pads and special the urofiber I have a black 2015 just want took things up had some dogs and cats jump on it and they not even my pets but anyway love your work I will try this out as soon as I can thanks again
Thanks Brian! Great examples for getting results. Haven't been able to get hold of the EuroFiber pads yet, only 1 supplier here in Australia. Can't wait to try them though as they look the goods. Cheers mate 👍
How well does this pad work with sonax cutmax and sonax perfect finish? I'm doing my new 2021 dodge ram rebel next weekend and those are what I will be using. Great video and keep it up, thanks!
Excellent video! Answered a bunch of questions I've had wrt the urofiber pads. I am a enthusiast, thanks in large part to your channel, and am toying with the idea of getting a more serious polisher. I have a torq 10fx and... yea, it takes forever to do correction on paint.
just had my first go with urofiber using ex0406[sonax perfect finish DA version] with a makita forced rotation polisher. I'm a literal first timer and I'd just been using a basic foam pad and the difference was remarkable, taking out about 25% more surface scratches and even diminishing medium/deepest scratches. With the forced rotary the microfiber grabs and isn't as smooth as the foam but its worth the trade off with results. The pads are machine washable as well, but I think I'll hand wash
-3D One, Urofiber 50/50 pad. -Hex Logic White polish pad. -TACsystem Total One Essential primer polish -TACsystem One Step Master White Ford Edge came out gleaming! The finish came out so reflective and blindingly glossy in the afternoon sun. 💫 ☀️ 😎
Great video ...one question i noticed you use d.a polisher more over the rotary do you prefer the d.a more now? I know you said in the past the rotary is superior
I know this is an old post about these uro fiber pads but I hope you respond. How do you clean them as you go panel to panel? I find it gets matted down maybe becoming less effective. I’ve tried air and pad washer. Thanks In advance
Just used these on my black f150 a few weeks ago for the first time. I found they clog up really quick was my only complaint. I just did a 1 step with 3D one. If I was being really picky there were a few spots where I could have gone over with a polishing pad but for the most part fantastic results with just a torque 10fx da polisher. What do you use to clean them when you are done with job? I blew them out but should I just clean them like I would a microfiber pad?
Amazing amount of info in this video! You're fantastic at sharing your expertise! How many of these pads do you use for an entire car while blowing them out? Also, how can I tell how hard or soft the clear coat is when working on a particular vehicle? Thanks!
How can you have a soft and ahard paint on the same car?? And if that is possible, we have to test the back and the front of the car in suspicion that the car can come with 2 different type od coats on the same car?
On a Japanese car, mazda 46v soul red that’s a tri coat or tinted clear coat, super soft but gorgeous, would you have any suggestions on correcting a lighty swirled up clear? It seems to haze easily, I needed to jewel my test spot on a slow rotary to clear the haze. Thought Id do some research before continuing. Tool is a 15mm DA, the shinemate you recommended. Any suggestions on pad and compounds? Thanks
Do you clean the pads before the 1st use? I've been meaning to pull the trigger on these Urofiber pads for a few weeks now and I think this video has pushed me over the edge.
Hey man, love your videos. Im just about to.use the uro pad with 3d one to do a single stage... How long does a single 2x2 pass take ( what rate are you moving the polisher) you say a rate of 1"/sec? That seems really slow? How many passes do you do per 2x2?
Brian, what would you think about using the uro-fiber pads with Sonax CutMax and Perfect Finish on new black VW paint? I was also considering investing in a bottle of the Rupes Uno Protect. I have an 8mm Das-6 V2 DA by the way.
Hey B, thank you for these videos you give out so much knowledge. I have a question, on a previous video you mentioned if a customer was in the budget for a multi step and a 2 step. Is a multi step considered a sub 1 correction where you would use a finishing pad after using a euro fiber yet using the same one step polish? Thanks in advance B!
is it a better choice, to team up with 3D One, for a 2 step process to go with Eurofiber + black polishing pad than an orange pad + polishing pad? This is on a rotary
