    This video is all over the place.... I just wanted to tell you how I WAS feeling... and what I’m doing now to STOP MYSELF FROM EVER feeling like that again! I’m doing good! I’m happy! I have a positive mind set and I’m fighting through my anxiety every day! And you can too! Xoxo

      I totally understand how you feel! I think that I'm the same way. Before i had kids i used to love going out with friends and having a good time. After i had my kids i feel like something changed. Now i don't like going anywhere because I'm scared of everything. I don't want my kids to feel that way when they grow up. So i have been considering getting some help myself.

      Trisha Abt Love This!!! 💜 a lot of people try to use that as a reason to push themselves fwd, but it can be a negative as well. Everyone handles different situations and emotions/situations differently and no one walks the same road in life. We shouldn’t be so quick to compare, who has it worse or better.

    "somebody who drowns in 10 feet of water is just as dead as somebody who drowns in 7 feet of water". Yes, there will always be someone who has it worse, but that does not mean that your feelings aren't valid. We ALL need a little (or a lot) of help sometimes and it doesn't matter where we come from.. we are all human. I love and respect you so much Kathleen, thank you for this video

      I’ve heard this quote differently, as, “someone who drowned in 10 feet of water is just as dead as someone who drowned in 10 inches of water”. Which is the same concept: someone can always have it worse, but that doesn’t invalidate how bad your own problems are.

      Eli M my daughter is going through some stuff and anxiety and I showed her this video and it lifted her to know that she’s not alone, also Kathleen specifically said that she is not a psychiatrist...bottom line this video helped my daughter...maybe you should take your nastiness somewhere else !

    • @elim5162
      @elim5162 5 років тому

      Natalie Whitfield so I'm assuming your daughter also suffers from some mental issues? Well the teens here think differently...it's irresponsible of Miss Kathleen to recommend songs and books suggesting it can make them feel good too. That's coming from about 7 teens sitting here as I write ...they just got home from high school...they're actually looking for makeup ideas for prom. You do know there are professionals that deal with anxiety? So as you sit there sugar coating the issues of mental illness and insistent that I'm full of nastiness why don't you be a good parent and take the daughter to someone trained in the field. Perhaps they have a parenting class in the building for you to sit in on while you wait...

    • @NatalieWhitfield
      @NatalieWhitfield 5 років тому +3

      Eli M bwahaha wow !! Kathleen “prescribed “ doing things to lift your spirits, how irresponsible ?!?? As someone who has had to deal with manic depression since my early teens I can tell you that getting out in Nature, laughing with your friends and lifting your spirits in general that these things can be healing and therapeutic, doctors are far too quick to dope people up these days, BUT of coarse if someone is on the edge of a cliff DEFINITELY seek medical treatment. If you read what I actually said you would see that I said that after my daughter watched this she didn’t feel alone and I particularly wanted her to watch someone like Kathleen who is successful, popular and always seems upbeat to show that these things can happen to anybody ( daughters don’t always listen to their mothers, if you think they do then perhaps you need parenting classes ) so to listen to someone else saying the things I say to her, and to always reassure her, did help her realise she’s not the only one, you don’t seem to be able to grasp this concept so why don’t you troll off and use what little brain cells you have to annoy someone else, you must be reeeally bored 😐

    • @elim5162
      @elim5162 5 років тому

      Natalie Whitfield i think you missed the point entirely...btw...your daughters anxiety and your manic depression can't be cured by songs and books that a beauty influencer and her subscribers recommend. It's actually quite alarming that you would suggest to your daughter that she could do group therapy with a you tube beauty channel ...good luck..

    • @NatalieWhitfield
      @NatalieWhitfield 5 років тому +3

      Eli M Ah Jesus ! Get a grip would ye...of course I don’t think that. First of all manic depression and anxiety are two different beasts and secondly my daughter feeling like she’s the only one that feels the way she does is only a part of it which led me to this video , I really don’t know what you’re not getting about that ?

      @janedoeeyed6814 5 років тому +2

      Kholisa Dwi Hutami that’s so sweet that she comforts you...but distracting is suppressing. People assume anxiety is a negative mind set that you have to stop perpetuating but it’s accumulated negative energy suppressed since childhood it is energy that MUST be released and can’t release until you allow it fully it uncomfortable but only facing it until it kind of runs out it’s a PARADOX face it feel it as if you choose it yourself as if it’ll last forever...only then does it slowly ebb away your mind chooses random things to “fear” but those things are irrelevant they are the problem it’s suppressing out of your brains habit. Therapists can’t say this...cuz they’ll run out of jobs. Looking for things to help abd distract you are just another means of suppressing emotions I promise it’s a truth it’s a scary truth with a peaceful ending thinking is just thoughts that’s it I think negative thinking and processed foods can exacerbate but not the actual cause do you know how much suppressing humans have been doing ESPECIALLY as children????.....ALOT!

      Rachelle....blasting your psychological issues on social media is somehow productive? her beauty channel isn't the platform for this....and its irresponsible of others to sit there giving her advice.....she's obviously a very sick girl...who needs professional help

    • @elim5162
      @elim5162 5 років тому

      Rachelle it is her platform and yes while I agree she can do what she likes but as a beauty channel she has a responsibility for that platform since she has many young girls watching. These hot mess videos (her words not mine)which by the way sound more desperate each time are a clear indication on just how sick she really is. Kathleen Lights doesn't need cheerleaders ...she needs some serious help....are you even listening to her? Do you even know anything about mental illness? The whole thing is just sad..

    • @victoriahorsley8874
      @victoriahorsley8874 5 років тому

      Eli M These types of comments are unnecessary. It has a negative connotation and something that could negatively impact Kathleen if she were to read it. We need to show support and words of kindness. She does not need serious help. She struggles with something that so many of us can relate to. She also does not have to stick to one format of videos. Calling her very sick is borderline bullying and I would appreciate it if you thought before you typed. Let’s be her support system, not one that can be taken so negatively. Her life is to do with what she wants, and she is simply trying to spread advice on what she’s been through. She cares, and doesn’t want people to struggle. This may not be the channel for you if you’re going to put her down in any way. Spread love in a world that wants to rip people apart who they know nothing about.

      Gabriela Silva good for you, truly. I know someone who has anxiety I believe on Kathleen’s level and it took them explaining everything that goes through their mind in day to day situations for me to really grasp how difficult it is for people with severe anxiety. It’s everything from conversations anticipated, to scenarios that could possibly happen to embarrassing or dangerous situations that could occur and a laundry list of other things. Every moment the mind is racing with little to no breaks. Mentally exhausting, indeed. I really don’t think people can grasp what it’s like unless they experience, but we all certainly should try! I am so happy to hear you’ve found something to help you, and that’s not a minor accomplishment! Hope it just keeps getting better for you.💕

    It's ironic isn't it, being petrified of scenarios that could put an end to your life, yet being unable to actually live ?
    Life is short, time goes by too quick and there is nothing we can do but make the very most of the time we have.
    Being a prisoner of your own mind is far worse than anything that could ever happen to you.
    When the time comes to go, would you prefer to have lived life to the fullest or to have wasted everything through fear. Regret is the worst feeling.
    Sending my love and wishing everybody the very best, one small step at a time is all it takes.

    Dealing with anxiety and depression is exaughsting. It’s a constant battle and it’s so draining. I know a lot of people struggle to understand because to them it’s just in our heads, but that’s literally the problem. You can’t just wake up one day and decide you’ve had enough. You can’t escape yourself, and that’s a feeling I would never ever wish on anyone in this world. It truly feels like your mind and your body are against you. It’s the ultimate betrayal and I get so angry with myself because of it, but I’m learning to accept who I am and I know you are too. So just know you’re not alone in this. I’m cheering you on and so are hundreds of other people all across the world.

    Your videos always brighten my day. You're such a cool, relatable person. I've suffered from catastrophic thinking since I was 10 years old. I have anxiety and it was especially bad in high school. This led me to depression because I didnt have any friends and I dreaded going to class when I had projects and whatnot. Once I had my son, all my catastrophic thinking transferred from, "what if this happens to me?" to "what if this happens to my innocent little boy?" I've lost so many opportunities to have a great job or go to college, but my anxiety got in the way. I had highs and very low lows. But through it all the last few years, I've had a few things that I still enjoy and your videos are one of them. So thank you for being who you are and sharing your mental health with all of us who can relate so much. You aren't alone and you've shown so many that they aren't alone either. Normalizing mental health disorders is so important now in day and I’m sure all of your followers appreciate you being vulnerable and sharing your journey. Living with anxiety sucks ass. I’m 23 and I’ve had it since I was a little girl in elementary school. It wasn’t until I had my daughter at 20 when it just sky rocketed. It’s a daily struggle for me as well but I try to power through it in similar ways you do. Watching shows to get my mind distracted, good music for my soul, being outside is really great, being around family and loved ones is always nice, eating good food, reading, watching UA-cam videos helps as well as listening to podcasts or motivational speakers, and prayer. I know ever since day light savings time changed I’ve been in such a better mood, the sun being out longer really does bring me a bit more peace. Again, I just want to thank you for sharing and encourage you to continue to do so! Every single thing you are saying in this video is ME!! I used to not be like this when I was a teen but now as a mother my kids don’t leave my sight!! Everything scares me and I think about the most horrible things that could happen! I know that my anxiety and depression comes from losing my mom at the age of 10. The only difference is that I do live going out and taking my kids to places! I love seeing them having the time of their life!! But yes I feel you 100% in everything!! I love you for opening up always and being super honest!! This is why I started following and your my favorite UA-camr!!
