I know there is a Mini 2 SE on DJIs site, but that is only 2.7K, they have updated the line with the Mini 4K that came out like a week ago (May 2024 for anybody in the future) You have to buy the Mini 4K on Amazon though, strangely UPDATE: DJI Air 3S has a 1-inch sensor on main camera, so slightly bigger than the Air 3 (.76" sensor) So a bit better low-light images and shadow details, better obstacle avoidance.
Hey man, i would like to buy a drone I'm debating between the mini 2 and the new rg 101 pro 8k 24fps don't know if you are familiar with it ! what would you recommend?
As a newcomer to the drone industry, I must say, after reviewing hours of drone content, reviews, and critiques yours was the most honest and most helpful thank you
I think till now all the videos that I have watched on UA-cam about drones were just....unboxings or just the review of a drone's body. This is the first one where I am able to learn a thing or two about drones. I am really satisfied with the content / practical knowledge I got to receive in these 22:59 minutes.
Never seen this guy before, never owned a drone, never subscribed to someone's channel... but, he gets a sub. He explains things to someone just like I would, after all the research, learning, experience, and finally mastering something (fishing, cooking, mechanical boat/truck fix, etc), cutting through all the endless BS, and summarizing the freakin point like a smart-ass. Well done. I don't know jack about drones, and now I can already tell I won't have to waste 2 weeks of nightly research trying to figure it all out. Thx
Same. Just the title of his channel says it all. There’s that ring of confidence, an earned insight, plus a polished touch of humor. It’s like finding a gold nugget.
Bro, this is the most clear cut, no bullshit review ever. Honest and to the point review. If only everyone can review like this bro. You have a new subscriber.
Im 17 and have always wanted a drone since i was 10. I finally ended up buying a mini 3 pro with the rc controller two months ago. Its a phenomenal drone and so I'm so glad i got this one as my first real drone. Highly recommend
Ey we're same. But I'm 16 years old from Philippines. Recently crashed my mini 2 se (due to motor error) and now, trying to buy a new drone again. Maybe mini 3 would do the job.
Not too many years ago (Before the abundance of GPS drones) a person your age saved up, bought a drone, and it flew off on it's madden voyage! So many lost their drones on their first flight.
Beginners do not buy $1k drones. The lowest cost DJI should have been your most expensive example. Everyone destroys their first drone; no reason to waste money and hate drones from first bad experience. My beginner was $40 and eaten by top of a pine tree on a windy day. DJI quality is appreciated, after learning on a $40 beginner. This video is next level and for choosing your first good drone; not beginner level to sacrifice.
when I saw you flying inside with a ceiling fan going round behind you, I almost screamed at the screen.. yet you did fine... my heart is beating back to normal now!
I just bought a Pontesic Atom SE pro and it was only $250 and so far it’s been working really well. I’ve flown it over a kilometer away and 300ft high with no issues. The camera quality is okay but not like the DJI drones but it works. It has no object avoidance but as long as I’m above the trees that’s not an issue. Top speed I’ve got was 43mph.
Yup, I’m that guy who watched over 100 videos last night who couldn’t figure out which one to buy… thanks to this guy here, I pulled the trigger on the DJI Mini Pro… dude spoke my language. Just wanted a drone to maybe get a job with and scare some cats… probably just scare some cats.
Dude’s raw confidence with these drones is admirable - in his sound comparison - proceeds to take off indoors from his tabletop (with ceiling fan turning in the background, no less) and that included the pterodactyl that looks like it could easily send a grown man to the hospital !! 🏥
Excellent video! I love many of the phrases you mentioned , like "don't be the guy who goes on forums and is like should I get a drone this year or wait till next year?" "Stop annoying everyone" Also, "if you can't afford 250-300 dollar drones, get a job" very true! Sending greetings from California brother
Just bought mini as a hobby, you produce very good tutorials. Even if "only" doing it for a hobby, taking the time to not completely suck is always worth it.
This is the kind of video that in the beginning looks boring and you want to click another one, but then you want to watch it entirely on TV! Thnx bro!
Thanks for this video, I've just bought my 8 year old son (and secretly myself) a £210 ($266) Mini 4K for Christmas. Seriously impressed with how nice the footage is from such a small camera and hopefully he gets decent enjoyment out of it!
I'm one of those over-confident (on forums) new guys acting like he knows everything, that's flown 4 times. I got the Air 3 because the price was manageable compared to the Mavic, but it as the 70mm lens over the Mini. Already in the few flights ive done, the 70mm lens is AMAZING, beyond belief. You can do stuff you just cant do with the standard lens (obviously). Especially sunrise / sunset timelapses look extreme with the compressed view, with some extremely slow panning.
If you casually listen to this video while you're doing something else, you'll miss out on one of the funniest dude's on UA-cam. He's real slick and low-key with that humor.
I recently picked up a used DJI air 2s from a pawn shop. I'm not embarrassed to say that. And It really is a lot of fun. I am also looking forward to one day getting my P-107

Dude this video is quite possibly one of the best videos I’ve ever seen.. beautiful footage, amazing information, great humor, and just heart warming at the end where it felt like you were giving me a ton of inspiration. Appreciate this a ton!
Hope you might be interested to set this up. If you built a simple frame to position two identical drones side by side & another to position them one on top of the other, with the propellers exactly lined up, which could lift the heavier weight?
Great video! Thank you! I've been flying the Mini 4 Pro for a year and the only thing I'd maybe disagree a little bit with you on is I would definitely appreciate better range/reception and longer battery if possible. My only two 'complaints' with the drone is I usually fly for about an hour at a time and that usually means about 3 batteries. Each time I have to fly all the way back from wherever I am to swap it and then fly out again. It's not a question of staging closer to where I want to shoot because I love to shoot all of it. My limiting factor seems to be reception (often just 1.5km worth if there are buildings hills etc) and the relatively constant battery changes. But hey, it's an incredible little camera in the sky and really cannot complain!
I'm still hauling ass with the Inspire 1 :))...... and now an Inspire 1 is about 300E....bad if you can't manage to hack the batteries, but there are people around that can help and you have a monster of a hobby drone.... I'm using it for fishing, using sonars on waterways, crop survey with a multi-spectral camera, some camera work for speedy filming, surveying building...... and it's a 10 year old drone..... Great thing this drone stuff..... and for fun even the Mini 2 can be used for great stuff (if you know what you're doing).....not to mention the new drones.
I totally agree that having the remote that doesn't need the phone is so much worth it. I crashed my mini 3 pro and I want to replace with a mini 4, but I found out the remotes aren't compatible? Sucks, because I will probably get another 3, so I don't have to buy a whole new setup.
I've had a mini 2 now for 3 years The mini 3 didn't do enough to interest me to upgrade. I'm gonna invest in a mini 4 pro this year with the built in screen controller. In the UK the drone rules are way more restrictive so doesn't make sense to get a drone over 250g.
I've had 2 cheap wifi drones which I crashed before and then I got a mini 2 SE and I'm really happy. Only real downgrade from mini 2 / mini 4k in my is that you don't have 4k footage but other than that it's totally worth not getting a mini 2 cause it was on sale for 200 $
I’ve got the mini 3 pro and I’ve really liked it, I think I will go with the air 3s when it comes out. It will still be small enough to fold up into the motorcycle and do better in the wind.
I did it backwards. I made a purchase THEN did the research. My wife works at a RC hobby shop so I was able to use her employee discount and they basically had 1 option: The Stinger 3.0. There's already some features about it that are kinda annoying but after seeing this, I guess it's fine to get the absolutely intro to what drones are. Was 150 bucks so I can't complain TOO much - seems like that's about the absolute floor for something that's not "Hey this is a drone it'll fly for 5 minutes" kinda stuff. Dunno who you are, this is the first video I saw, but you seem to know what you're talking about. I love some of the choices you did, both in labeling like every piece of footage with what drone it is, to directly just having the various drones on a table and labeling and comparing them at different points. Phenomenal.
6:22 defiantly a golden year to dip into the world of drones. I’ve been on the look out for decent drones for years. Finally affordable drones have reached a level of quality, that I’m comfortable with. Too bad the majority of the airspace is off limits for drones
the amount of self-deprecating humor that you snuck into this Drone Buying Guide is impressive. Subscribed. Liked. And looking forward to the next videos.
I've been flying these for a while and this is by far the most fair depiction of the cinematic drone world. Very very informative and no bs. Great work. I knew all of this but still watched the video all the way through.
I did lot of research. I own mirrorless top camera, full frame 60 megapixels. Top dynamic range. First thing i checked was sensor size. I was surprised all where same except Mavic. Then i learned about Classic and that pro uses weaker tele sensors ( wich I wouldn't use much), I concluded on Mavic 3 Classic. Now use in Norway, insanely curious to Footage. I like the better build quality of the mavic over small ones, gives me more confidence. I also like the stronger propellers, in strong wind. While learning the drone was not easy, cinematic is almost peace of cake with it, as a photographer nerd and movie Nerd. The better controller, someone recommended. So glad i listened. I would hate to use phone onthe other one.
I was planning to buy a mini 3 and try to break even in about 1-2 years (as a hobby)! From what I've heard, you can break even in a few months so that year should be easy. I've flown a drone before, but a cheaper "manual' drone.
Man I have a bunch of those drones, Mini 3, Mini 3 Pro, Mini 4 Pro, AIR 3, I just got the Autel Evo Lite + Premium Bundle, 14 days ago, but I haven't opened the box yet. I also have the AIR 2S, DJI FPV Drone, all my DJI drones are fly more combos & I just ordered the Avata 2 Fly More Combo . Im studying for my part 107, & I really want to start a small Drone photography and General photography side business. For camera gear, I only have the Sony Alpha 6400 & my wife has the Sony Alpha 6100. We definitely need more lenses, we only have the two sony 16-50 kit lenses, a sony 55-210 kit lense, & a oss sony 18-135 kit lense. I would love to have better camera gear, but I think we will be alright to get started..
Thanks for the concise and easy to understand synopsis. I did some research but was still kind of loss about what to even look for or where to begin. I tend to overthink things, but this tutorial was amazing.
I'm new to drones but have been flying giant scale rc for 50 years. My friend gave me an almost brand-new Mavic Air in a case with extra batteries and a muti charger. How does this compare to the newest models. Also love your candid approach to reviews and strait talk. Can you recommend a video to help me with the video settings and making better video, just trying to learn.
Great video! What would you recommend for insurance related roof inspections? Before I write a homeowner policy for someone it’d be nice to be able to do a quick roof inspection with a drone when I’m out taking photos of the property anyway. That way I’d be better prepared to deal with whatever inspection concerns the company inspectors come up with. Oh and it’d be for me to play with and take on vacations as well - not just work.
I bought a Tello a couple of years ago and could negotiate my entire bathroom. Now I want to attempt the outdoors. You touched on the DJI Avata. Let's say I'm a 70 year old newbie willing to plunk down $1000 for the motion controller, proper goggles, three batteries and a drone to bust the poachers that keep trespassing on our land. (prepare, 'cause I'm going to say now: What's the best drone?
Honestly you’re amazing. I barely subscribe to anyone, recently looking into recording and editing, and didn’t skip a single moment. Thanks for making my day better, just with a tutorial, usually these would be just boring and would only care about the information. Now I really enjoy watching it
Thank you so much for this video! I just got into this “hobby” because I helped a friend, who had no idea what he was doing, search for two lost drones that he bought. I picked up a drone off Amazon during prime days, a BWine F7 series. It has taught me a lot about flying but not much about how to capture videos and certainly nothing about editing. I plan to take your course. I’m sure you will speak about fps, as this camera only does 15 during night shots. Thanks again!
I just finished getting my license for fun and have no idea wtf i'm doing, came for advice on what to buy and had such a good time. your smartassery is unparalleled Sir. +1 Sub, GG.
Love your videos. Always clear and no-nonsense information. I'm a big fan of the DJI RC-N2 control. Doesn't have a built in screen and I have to use "A" phone so I bought a used Samsung A71 from Ebay and use it for all my drones. No service just wifi. This eliminated the incoming phone call problem. Honestly, loading the phone into the control isn't a problem once you do it a few times. I'm not thrilled having unnecessary apps on my personal phone.
Hey, I was thinking about to buy one of these dji drones for taking pictures, filming and having fun (but not by a too high price). Im thinking about to buy a dji neo or a dji 4k. I think both are very good but which one of them would you reccomend, in my case?
Hey bloke, you’re the reason I bought a drone. Have you made any videos about where you stand in relation to what you’re going to film? You have some awesome shots on castles that are high up on the hills. Would you position yourself at the highest point you can for maximum signal strength?
I've been getting into videography, and doing coloring in Davinci Resolve Studio, and thinking of getting a drone. Great video, thank you! I'm thinking of going with the Mini 4 Pro currently, and buy a controller, since don't want the extended battery to increase the weight and go into next level for drones for FAA regulations. Try things out, and then see about doing the professional license route for my videography.

But hey, it's an incredible little camera in the sky and really cannot complain!
brb buying the inspire 2 just to kill birds. thanks for the rec!
complicated way to let Brandon know but thats why I made this video
I'm still hauling ass with the Inspire 1 :))...... and now an Inspire 1 is about 300E....bad if you can't manage to hack the batteries, but there are people around that can help and you have a monster of a hobby drone....
I'm using it for fishing, using sonars on waterways, crop survey with a multi-spectral camera, some camera work for speedy filming, surveying building...... and it's a 10 year old drone.....
Great thing this drone stuff..... and for fun even the Mini 2 can be used for great stuff (if you know what you're doing).....not to mention the new drones.
omg I miss my favoruite bald youtuber. thank you for uploading another youtube video
I totally agree that having the remote that doesn't need the phone is so much worth it. I crashed my mini 3 pro and I want to replace with a mini 4, but I found out the remotes aren't compatible? Sucks, because I will probably get another 3, so I don't have to buy a whole new setup.
Best drone comparison video I've ever seen and I've seen 3 of them.
11:51 😂
I've had a mini 2 now for 3 years
The mini 3 didn't do enough to interest me to upgrade.
Great video with lots of detail. Thanks
One of the best videos on anything I have watched, not just drones.
I was looking for info as a newb.
Informative and funny.
Thank you.
the amount of self-deprecating humor that you snuck into this Drone Buying Guide is impressive. Subscribed.
Thanks!
I was planning to buy a mini 3 and try to break even in about 1-2 years (as a hobby)! From what I've heard, you can break even in a few months so that year should be easy. I've flown a drone before, but a cheaper "manual' drone.
Thoughts on the DJI neo?
Even if I wasn’t interested in drones, which I am, I would watch these videos because they are so well produced and entertaining!
Best advise is okay if you have a little one if you use it the right way! Good to know
Great video!
This is such an informative video. Thank you for the time you put into this video. I went with the mini 4 pro for now i do a lot of indoor events.
Hey there man? Great review. Do you have a review/comparison of the DJI MP4? I subscribed but didn't see one. Thanks and keep it coming.
This guy is straight to the point, got a good sense of humor and you can learn allot from his videos. good quality videos.
Really appreciate the candid advice and humor. Obviously a professional. Gotta go buy a drone now...
I almost pulled a trigger on avata 2 but you chamged my mind and now im going for different model
What you said *about a photo not capturing the feelings you had while being there* is absolutely true!
I want to get one to explore at 1st.
Great video, love the humor and the content
Hey, I was thinking about to buy one of these dji drones for taking pictures, filming and having fun (but not by a too high price). Im thinking about to buy a dji neo or a dji 4k. I think both are very good but which one of them would you reccomend, in my case?
Hey bloke, you’re the reason I bought a drone. Have you made any videos about where you stand in relation to what you’re going to film? You have some awesome shots on castles that are high up on the hills. Would you position yourself at the highest point you can for maximum signal strength?
Newer drone owner. I have been using my iPad with the phone controller. I like the bigger screen
