Loved Dr. Hyman’s book 10 Day Detox Diet! I am a sugar and food junkie. I followed his diet for 6 months lost 40 lbs. Age spots disappeared in 2 weeks. 2 years later meat and veggies, 16-8 intermittent fasting. Weight never returned. Feel great! 😊 I feel Dr. Hyman saved my life!

    What should we be eating...
    1. Colourful foods and vegetables.
    - eat wild foods like seaweed, wild strawberries etc.
    - Rich array of fydo chemicals.
    - Green tea.
    - Red grape skins.
    - Cacumin
    - Mushrooms.
    - Garlic.
    - Onions.
    2. Fats
    - olive oil.
    - Omega 3.
    3. Proteins
    - Needed for muscle.
    - Find a balance by not eating for at least 12 hours in a row (16 is better).
    - Need quality protein. Lucin is key and you don't get much from plant protein.
    - You need more as you get older.
    - Have 1-1.5 hours after exercise.
    - You'll need to have more exercise + protein as you get older.
    4. Went off on a tangent a bit.
    5. Take pleasure in food/enjoy the experience.

garlic and onions are energetically powerful but not when consumed it can desyncronise the brain as sulphur is neurotoxic, oil is refined, protein is a myth, man I'm sure if I google I'll find lucin in something plantbased. Thanks for keeping a summary, I think personally fruit and veg with some warm drinks in colder climates maybe not watermelon in winter, but grapes/apples, oranges/mangos are great... and enjoy whatever you eat because it is you

Most of them were in my childhood, and I was sick more often back then, and I had allergies. I don't even get headaches-ever. I can't remember the last time I had a headache. I'm no no prescriptions, and I don't even have a doctor because I never get sick enough to feel like I need one. EATING WITH JOY! I've been preaching this for decades - thanks! 80% of the time, be conscious of what you're eating and fuel your best you. 20% of the time, eat with absolute joy and celebrate the people you're with, tastes in your mouth, music that's playing....being alive. Regret nothing of the celebration. Because you've cared so lovingly for yourself 80% of the time, you can completely enjoy those essential celebrations (which could be as mundane as finally getting together with a friend you've not seen in ages). Embrace the love of life.

Sharif Kemal is a vegan bodybuilder and all his muscle is made from raw vegan protein. All vegetables and fruits contain protein, even lettuce and blueberries.. some plants contain much more protein then others. Spirulina has more protein than 'meat' aka dead rotting flesh filled with bacteria and pathogens... The protein content of spirulina varies between 50% and 70% of its dry weight. Perhaps this guy just increased his resistance training to get bigger muscles and it had nothing to do with the type of food intake..Neanderthals ate mostly plants, nuts, seeds, berries.. hunting animals was difficult work and they did it sparingly.

Some vegetables are high in oxalates and lectins, I would cut them out as much as possible. Broccoli rabe, broccoli, broccoli sprouts are safe to eat. Cabbage whether red or green and moderate amount of arugula are also my favorites. All soy foods, corn products and potatoes are eliminated from my diet. Organic red onions, garlics, gingers, scallions and turmeric roots and a teaspoon of Manuka honey are my favourites to be added to my hot lemon water and teas. I find it’s very difficult to find nutritional foods while I am outside my home. All restaurants whether high ends or fast food take out cook their foods in ‘junk’ oils like vegetable oils. I can guarantee that no restaurant cooks the food in high quality EVOO.

I am definitely a believer in one's mindset.. Positive minds and possibility thinking. And we can change about anything in our lives. Even if we were to be handicapped or limited in some ways there's the usually other possibilities/options that exist. At 67 and recently diagnosed w HBP and High Cholesterol, I embarked on a revamping of my diet, exercise, learning about ketones, Paleo diet, or lifestyle changes to reduce stress/ inflammation. The top priorities are to bring down the cholesterol and HBP, lose weight, reduce inflammation, heal damaged nerves, avoid pollution, chemicals in foods and beverages, stress, and reduce clutter in the home. Learn or relearn how to get ample/good sleep, meditation, do things I truly enjoy while eliminating those I don't care for. I have been recording, tweaking, keeping a detailed journal on most all the foods I eat. And beverages. I drink little milk. Eat much less cheese n meats. I am now finally getting better at planning my daily intake of food. The "numbers" ...
I make sure I exercise, walk, and dancercise daily. Use some hand weights at home, do wall push-ups, aka look for ways to do some resistance exercises in home. I can get down n on the floor with a little more ease. I will try to get back into yoga stretches. Doing chair yoga at the YMCA presently. Hoping to eventually get back to calisthenics. I use a fitness app to track steps. 🚶‍♀️ And, I just signed up for the YMCAs 21 days reset. To help me focused/committed through February. Good luck with each of your personal health and wellness journeys.
Update the twenty one day reset program went very well. Earned my t-shirt. And have lost fifteen pounds I think at least, since the first of the year. 15-20 more to go. Best wishes to everyone iut there. 🤲💞💞💝

I was born and grew up in Puglia, the heel of the boot, in South of Italy, now I live in the US. There is still a big culture of wild food where I am from. For me growing up it was a normal activity going with my parents in the country sides with bags and knives looking for wild vegetables: cicoria, wild chicories, the most common. Wild asparagus. Lampascioni, that are wild onion, very bitter, that you have to leave overnight to purge in water before cooking. Mushrooms. Ah, and wild rucola (sorry, I cannot bring myself to call it arugula 😂), it’s so spicy compared to the US supermarket version. Up to today is pretty common to see people selling in front of their door some wild vegetables they have been foraging. And if I start talking about fruits, I could cry. People who never tried a fig from a tree they don’t know what they are missing. When I go back to the local markets there, the first thing I get it’s the smell, smell of fruit: peaches, apricots, watermelons. I miss it so much. But unfortunately also there, a lot of bad habits are taking over: food abundance bring people to overeat, so I see more and more obese people; too much bread, too much pasta and too much sugar. The traditional desserts, most of them made with almond flour, where in the past only common during celebrations and special days, nowadays you can have the at all time. People are used to walk less and are more sedentary. What has not changed for now is that people is still very big on local and seasonal products.

I looked up eating them, and was led to an enlightening education on wild plants. The most important one was learning about Stinging Nettle. It is among the most nutritional, and medicinal plants on earth. Experts say if it didn't have the stinging spines herbivores would completely eat it into extinction. It's so powerful it is actually used in prostate shrinking meds. It can be cooked, or dried and used as green tea.

Simply use gloves, snip it off, and either dry, or cook it. Both methods destroy the stinging needles. Check out the many interviews with DR WILLIAM LI, medical doctor and doing research, specialized in preventing and fighting cancer and heart diseases with HEALTHY FOOD, mainly organic fruits and vegetables !
(Beware of the so called organic food from China. It is not organic and very toxic.)
They have been discovering so many interesting and promising things that most doctors havn't had time to learn yet.
He is also working on new medicine to better help people already sick..
I won't say good luck to you, because it is not a question of luck.
It is a question of dealing with undealt negative emotions and doing what is right for your body's health.
So what I will say to you is:
"Bon appétit ! And ENJOY your food, the people you are eating with, the view, the smells and the good feelings that all of that brings you !!!"

My mother was in nursing care at the end of her 97 year old life. I saw her almost every day. To see the people in care was devastating. I am 83. My goal is not to extend life, but to die healthy. I want to feed myself the foods that I enjoy, take care of bathroom activities by myself and know the people and place around me. I have gone from the idea that at my age I can eat whatever I want, to I will do better. (150pounds, pool exercise 3/4 times a week, independent living with most of my mental faculties)

Plants have an incredible amount of information. When you put the right things in the body, the body knows what to do & how to heal itself. The science of health & being well, rather than the science what's wrong with you. I knew this when I was young bc I was fortunate enough to work with a dietician in my early 20s. Dietitians have been teaching this stuff for decades. Interesting to see how people put doctors on pedestals, even though dieticians have as much education. Glad to see that science is changing in the medical industry. What a gift to have this info and doctors like this ❤

I use to ski with many doctors in Vail, Co. On the lift, they would tell me how they get about 80 days a year on the mountain each season. Many live in incredible ski in /out literally on the hill. That is how to live! They are sharp like Mark and in great shape. Some skied better than me- at least smoother and I've been skiing since I could stand- but only vacation 1 week a year. At the time I lived near Vail for a very fun ski season. I was a more aggressive skier but they are incredible athletes...and many were in their 70's! I was nearly half their age.
Common theme: They had less stress (they were all rich), breathed fresh air daily under the bluest sky you ever saw, exercise daily, and had too much fun and sun. They smiled a lot and ate well. It is really not rocket science.

I love Dr. Mark Hyman. I read his books and appreciate that he has been a front runner in functional medicine -- the study and application of what makes a patient really well.
HOWEVER! In this video he looks tired, very tired.
And I believe if he doesn't slow down and learn to engage in REAL down time that he will likely not make it to the advanced age he hopes for -- in fact, I doubt he will and that would be such a shame.
If he were my brother I would wish that he would do less in these current days so that he will have more days overall because I believe he's burning himself out with his work.
I'm almost 77 and having lived in Manhattan I've seen people who worked as hard as he does and they did not make it to an advanced age.

@@MOAB-UT I lived in Manhattan from 1966 to 2016 and adored it.
Between 1966 and 1970 when they placed control on vehicle emissions there was a huge improvement in air quality. Of course, if you lived next to a dry cleaner the air was affected. And it's NOT genetics! My two brothers died at 58 and 76 living in the suburbs eating the SAD Standard American Diet. I worked with lots of Europeans in Manhattan and they spent 40% more on the food they ate and nothing on doctors and nothing in fast food restaurants -- I copied them eating organic vegetables, grass-fed meats and I still dine out every week at full service good restaurants. Moving to Manhattan was THE best move I ever made in my life for all the exciting people I met and worked with -- it gave me a thrilling life. Hello! For healthy change; Simply find fresh local grown vegetables and be careful with your meats basically don't use processed meats on ur meals and meat that's factory farmed high quality meat goes a lot further. Get high quality ingredients, good oils olive, coconut, butter (check it's from a good farm). Don't burn or char food. If using tined food in syrup or brine drain it and rinse with fresh water. Boil roast grill. Lightly salt and pepper. Reasearch ur products and read labels, one item could be good and another not so good. If it fills you and makes you calm and relaxed, happy and content. Seek to make more nourishing food and eat it. The nutrients will start to clarify on a few levels physically feeling better mind calmer & clearer. During these stages feelings can come more to the surface. Become aware that although these foods won't kill you tomorrow they could put a strain on vitality so it is best to find your nourishing foods and environments to inhabit. May the journey be so rich and rewarding, greater still than the highest imagined outcomes, beyond the wildest of dreams to put it lightly!!!
This man is doing great work with information on what's going on - make sure you check you depart with indignation and move to making some basic meals.
Main issues are, corn and grain fed factory farmed meat, soy added to lots of pre packaged food, high fructose corn syrup, processed meats and foods (did it come out of a box?!).
Enjoy healthy meals. And if you have been eating a lot of processed foods you may find it a big shift - the body can cleans itself and stored waste in fat cells may start to make things feel un well. Here's where you can find a comfortable level to introduce low processed meals to the diet. Learn to trust your taste!
Take care and enjoy yourself and others.
    Thanks for reading!
P.S. I read staying healthy with nutrition once upon a time, it's a wonderful book and full of info✌️✨ I'm currently enjoying home cooked food myself. Caio~

Hospitals, doctors offices and schools should be places where good nutrition is taught and provided not places that contribute to disease and obesity. It is crazy the hospitals are feeding people the very food that caused the heart disease, high blood pressure or cancer that they are treating. Every person in the hospital should receive some nutrition education before being released. Every doctor visit should be an opportunity to educate patients about how food choices impacts their health outcomes. The fact that doctors do not get nutrition training as part of their training makes no sense. Medicare and Medicaid should require nutrition education as part of patient care. Focus should be on food choices.

In example for the body bone is a lower vibration followed by soft organs. Thought and emotion is a higher frequency vibration, therefore why we/the body, are at mercy of thought and feeling. The higher vibrational frequency effects or overides the body's operating system. The internal sounds/thoughts are dictating body function BECAUSE ITS A HIGHER VIBRATION.

I don’t do simple sugars. I prefer one ingredient foods. If it wasn’t food 100 years ago it isn’t food today.

I've been following Dr. Hyman for at least five years now, actually probably longer and can't help but notice from a visual perspective the last 5 years haven't been kind to him meaning he doesn't seem to have aged slower then average. I'm two months younger than Dr. Hyman and very much want and desire a life of vibrant healthy aging. Just saying it dampers my belief or hope as to just how much we really can slow aging.

e in the 2 nd part attached video of how he looks from the first different but included video.
But I've always listened to him with utmost respect & fascination because he really has a goldmine of important Holistic information for us all. I believe that his 43 year biological age is correct. For me how I feel & function is my top priority.

I think intermittent fasting makes people look older even though they might be healthier. I lost 20+ lbs and looked tired but I felt better and lighter. Not sure what the solution is.

I love Dr. Hyman, but I have to agree. I don’t think the diet he’s on is working for him unfortunately. It’s so tough figuring out what diet is best for our bodies 😩

Dr. hyman just needs to use sunscreen on his face! a lot of healthy people look young from behind, but the skin on their face is so old due to years of sun damage.
