Doing this job tomorrow and came onto UA-cam hoping for a tutorial and have to say you went above and beyond, thanks very much.

Went straightforward enough but I stupidly tried to bleed the brake without the drum on and you guessed it the piston popped out the wheel cylinder and fired brake fluid at me. So a note to anyone trying this make sure the drum is back on before bleeding. give me disc brakes anyday lol

Great work mate. Love to see an auto transmission flush and front and rear diff oil for your triton (required at 90,000kms).
And transfer case oil (required at 105,000kms).

Really good quality video, but how do you know how much to adjust the shoes to the drum?
On large vehicles normally you turn the drums all the way out, until you can't spin the drum, then back it off three clicks. But I dunno how much to back off on the isuzu dmax, and the hand brake clicks 8 times until the vehicles stay on an incline, is that normal?

Great videos, I am wondering where did you get all the new brake hardware? the handbrake lever, all the spring, adjusters, etc?

If I change the wheel cylinder, will I trip the portioning valve preventing me from bleeding the rear brakes. That's the problem I'm having.

Mint vid. Literally about to do this. Thanks for the pointers bud, I haven't touched drums in years.
One thing, I've heard you need to re-adjust the handbrake or else it could lock? And from the manual I've seen it's some sort of automatic adjusting handbrake. Any pointers on this?

Broke one of my shoe hold down pins when taking the drum off because you forgot to show how to adjust the shoes first to loosen them and get the drum off. The shoes were pulled forward by the drum as I pulled it off with great effort until one broke. You need to adjust (loosen) the tensioner from the port hole at the back before removing the drum to avoid this. Wish this was shown in the video before removing the drum.

hi mate, yes they are self adjusting, when you install them you first have to adjust them and as they wear they will self adjust

You nearly always need to back the shoes off before removing the drums, if you dont you will break the pins.
