- 99 Series is a tank guide series, not only with the purpose of improving your DPS but also how to mitigate properly and understanding your role as a tank.

This video was recorded early week 3, so some of the stuff I shared here might not be the most optimized, but I will definitely share new optimized stuff later on about this fight on a shorter format if I encountered one.
P9S is quite fun fight for me. It's not too hard with the early mechanics, and not too easy as there's still walls like Levinstrike or Chimeric later on. There's also room for optimization like archaic mechanic and just generally a really good fight for someone to experience savage for the first time.

Both ravening and dual spell damage snapshots ~1 second before the animation goes off, you can rep really late and still have it apply, i have logs with rep application 2 seconds post cast still mitigating both. Heart of light is also a bit of a waste on ravening as there are multiple points in the fight where it can capture multiple instances of damage. Dual spell 1 (on element flash) catches next dual spell, thought timing is pretty tight. Archaic demolish + gluttony are both magic and easy to catch with heart of light as you position for healer stacks. Two minds + gluttony post limit cut, though it's pretty easy to catch with rep and there is an other good spot to use later. Early into first thunderbolt cast will catch both sets of biles and bolts (they also snapshot ~1 second before animation). You've mentioned dual spell + gluttony in ravening5. Either of dual spell + gluttony combos in ravening6.
For limit cut, aoe combo is never really worth it, mostly because with 2.5 you should naturally end up with 2 carts and at 1/2 of your combo by the time he becomes untargetable, with limit cut being 20~ seconds you can carry that combo through and go 3NM or 23NM and do a normal reopener. Most people will not be precasting their 2minutes so you're not really drifting out of buffs by finishing that combo.

Great video, thanks. My logs are really bad, but I'm always trying to improve them. I do play on NA from EU though, so the ping kind of makes parsing undoable, at least on GNB. Like especially with Continuation, there's a delay between when I use GF, and then for Continuation to appear. And you can really feel it, so I don't really know what to do about it. And the delay adds up the entire fight so after a certain point (usually past second BF) it's kind of just a mess lol

Idk how bad is your ping, but I play from SEA to JP with a constant 110-130 ping. It's frustrating at first I know, but overtime I think you'll get used to it. I would recommend VPN like exitlag /mudfish which works for me. Also xivalexander / noclippy to reduce the delay on your hotbar

Does the stack on LC2 ignore the defame? They seem equidistant to your stack at the wall.
I don't think so, Because the stack happens after the 1st and 2nd defame went out, so it's around when both numbers is going back to the middle / north
how much more difficult is it to get a higher parse on average not using 2.5? I know 2.5 has more crit but it just feels so odd to me and I don't really like using it tbh.
the current gear gives some lenient options for GNB. I would say if you're using 2.40-2.41 it's not that hard as it has more consistency overall despite lower crit. But 2.43-2.47 I would say pretty hard.
but if we're talking about this in previous tier abyssos, its extremely hard to compete in top 100 without 2.50 as the gear doesn't give any option for skillspeed build
Sadly with my current gear not being maxed, to 99 I gotta Crit like all my double downs, and this game loves to make my double downs never Crit😭😂

Thanks so much for the guide! Would you not recommend a 2 minute pot for this fight? I don’t recall any difficulties for the pot at 2 minutes but the fight is barely long enough in PF to have an 8 minute pot, though I think I remember Martialist 2 or LC2 happening at that point.
yeah I don't think you can get that 2nd pot properly if the party is full BiS with optimized dps, so I think it's still better to do it at the opener. But if you think you can, you should.
@@aylaveen btw on gnb you can pot at 1:51 right after u build 2nd cart and then ur pot is perfectly in time for 6:20 buffs. my grp is killing it at 7:01 and this pot works fine
