You are discovering what makes Pink Floyd so unique - they don't simply plug into their amps, they plug directly into your soul, heart, and mind. So happy you get it.
One of the best songs from this show is called Sorrow, it's an absolute masterpiece. I'd like to recommend that you maybe have a little wine when you listen to it. It's a special performance, and deserves a little extra something. You only get to hear it for the first time once.
A third recommendation for Sorrow, again the live version from the Pulse concert. Every observation you've made so far in all your Floyd reactions I do completely relate to. Their music really does transcend the normal experience of a song, whilst also going so deep. And, going back to the recommendation of Sorrow, the first time I watched the live performance of it I was literally shaken for three days. It's one you really shouldn't miss - and we'd love to see your reaction to it and enjoy your enjoyment of it!
@Shaman196 I have seen the Floyd many times, the first time in 1972, and this was the only concert I saw them when I wasn't medically enhanced, unless you count 3 pints of real ale.
i know that you think that you find it hard to express what you feel, while listening to Pink Floyd, but i think you express yourselves perfectly. i love your reactions
This tune is one of the reasons The Division Bell is in my top 5 fav albums. When I mention it, people say they are not familiar with it. I tell them they are truly missing out!!!
Here we have two lovely people watching witnessing a spiritual out of body psychological life changing experience..It’s beautiful to see their reactions..Any floyd fan knows exactly what they are feeling..Great reaction..God bless you both..🙏
In case you were wondering about how he shaped the sound of his guitar with his mouth this is how it works. There's a box on the floor at the bottom of the mic stand. in that box is a small speaker. When a foot switch is pressed it diverts the sound of the guitar to that speaker. The sound then travels up a plastic hose attached to the mic stand and into the mouth where it can be shaped and change by the guitarist. That sound is picked up by the vocal mic and amplified in the usual way. A simple device, but it takes someone to think of the idea in the first place. You're welcome ✌❤🇬🇧
Like Justin Atest, said, the 2 best songs, or COMFORTABLY NUMB, AND SORRIW (MY FAVOURITE ONES).....I saw that tour, in my town in France, STRASBURG, in the stadium (stade de la Meinau), 50,000 peoples.....I was only 14 years old, i will never forget.....Magic....SORROW, live at Earls Court, is, probably, my favourite, before COMFORTABLY NUMB.....✌️
Dave Gilmour was inspired by a speech by Stephen Hawkins this is the result their is a version which uses Stephens voice & words that version is Epic & a must to listen to!!
Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"... I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen. I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold. All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. The Red Fender Stratocaster he used for this concert in the Guitar Collector World is ....PRICELESS
I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times… I saw this same show Syracuse Carrier Dome in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all. When the “Disco Ball’ was uncovered and the lights hit it….. WHAT IS HAPPENING was what I said….The entire crowd was held in a trace and our minds totally blown by what we witnessed.
I was there and it was the most incredible experience to see and hear all these fantastic songs played to perfection live. At the end of this one you see David playing his guitar through a gadget to his mouth so he can manipulate the sound vocally. Phones and computer, even stereo sound systems cannot do them justice because live, they use a stadium sized quadraphonic sound system which takes the sounds around the whole venue. Great reaction thanks and hope you continue to enjoy your trip down a very big rabbit hole.
You my friends, have been Floyded! I've seen them many times and Pulse had to see twice. Felt the music for days. We all came out of the concert just completely blown away! I've seen many reactions to them and I truly hate that they are no more as Rick Wright has passed(RIP) and that was it for David Gilmour. I really wish folks like you and all these kids that are getting blown away, would have the chance to experience them!
The tube Gilmore uses after the second chorus is called a „talk box“: the sound of the guitar is fed through the tube into Gilmore‘s mouth and he can „shape“ the sound by opening and closing or changing the shape of his mouth, the sound is then recorded by the microphone. Another great song of the Pulse tour is „Shine on you crazy diamond“!
I have seen Floyd many times over the past 50 years but this concert in 1994 summed them up perfectly. A fantastic performance and a privilege to see them.
saw this 5 times. When you go to the concert people SIT and Listen and Feel the music ( "Run Like Hell" is the only song people stand). That's why they did get a lot of radio play because they don't play 3/4 minutes songs. "Sorrow" " Take it Back' Give Dave's solo work some love. 'Live at Gdansk" there is a backing orchestra. some ( P.F. Songs"Echoes' " Great day for Freedom "***) sole Take a Breath" , Live at Pompeii. 'in any tongue" " rattle that lock' Last time with Dave at 70 yrs old playing : 'comfortably Numb" HIS BEST PLAYING.
I “love” your reactions to Pink Floyd. Your reactions and your attempt to discuss them are precious. You are actually expressing exactly what many of us are too afraid to say. This music goes beyond intellect and hits straight at your soul. They tap deep into the human condition and relationships. They are a unique band. Please continue to be “you”…..you actually are right on the mark with your interpretation and feelings. Great job.
seeing how much you love floyd, i think it´s time to dive into some of their "big ones": "shine on you crazy diamond" (from studio album), "echoes" live in pompeii 1971/72, "dogs" (from studio album). and then there´s many more.
You Woman, it's an excellent emotional musical. I like very much when it is reacts. I it is amazing how she gets inside the guitars and songs of our Pink Floyd. Congratulations. I like you very much
It's about the day, the first human beings, started to talk😂 It changed everything..... That's the idea of the song....I like your reactions guys.....Peace from France ✌️👍Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd, are unmatchable.....
I’d love to see your reaction to Shine on you Crazy Diamond! In fact, the whole Wish You Were Here Album. Thanks. It’s a pleasure to see how much you enjoy Pink Floyd.
I've been listening to Pink Floyd for fifty years. Still to this day when I'm asked to describe Pink Floyd I cannot come up words to convey my thoughts.
Another captivating performance from the 'Pulse' concert. Amazing concert. A lesser known classic is 'Pink Floyd - On The Turning Away'. BEAUTIFUL song. (there's a great LIVE version on UA-cam from 2019)
You’re completely right !! They cracked the code…… You both just starting with the greatest band ever. I see some recommendations from this best concert ever, but I’ll think you will be blown away and find out how they cracked the code if you listen to Echoes (live from Pompei). This unique concert will show how they experiment with sound(s) 🤘🎸🤘
It's fun to watch you try to analyze your feelings about Floyd. Because even old listeners know how hard it is to explain the emotions that run through you. You're doing great.
I've been listening to Pink Floyd for over 30yrs and for me every time you listen to any of there songs etc for the first or 1000's time it changes your perspective on life depending how you are emotionally, mentally, physically at that time. They are a class of there own.
God knew it would take 14 billion years of His creation to produce this music, waiting throughout the long dark millenia for David, Nick, Richard and Syd to come along.
The tube in David Gilmour's mouth is from a talk box. This sends the sound from his guitar through the tube. And by altering the shape of his mouth alters the sound and puts it through the microphone rather than his amp.
I love watching you react. One song/instrumental that always gives me goosebumps is Marooned on The Divison Bell album. Have fun 😊and keep discovering!
and it's interesting to hear you talk about classical composers, because i feel that Pink Floyd compose rock music with the same feeling and in the same way that classical composers do. it's why it's so effective, imo
Sometimes I wish I could hear the whole cataloge for the first time again. Last year I went to a Nick Mason concert (the Drummer). When they were playing Pink Floyds "Set the controls for the heart of the sun" I nearly became unconscious. The building up and endless middle part was breathtaking in a real way. There is a high quality Version on youtube (Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets - Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun), may be you'll check it out some day!
In their earlier years it was rather easy to classify their music as psychedelic rock and truth be told most of their music at that time was not my cup of tea. But gradually their style changed into the sound we all can only describe as something created in heaven (or hell) resulting in one masterful concept album after another. People try to classify it as progressive rock but I feel - as many with me - that they are in a league of their own. Listening to their music is like being high without having to take a drug.
If you look closely you might recognise the blonde back singer. Very famous solo artist in own time. Recently released new album. When you find out who she is, then it kind of brings new dimension to how big Pink Floyd was.
When Andre says " I have no reaction, I just want to listen to it " , he actually has the perfect reaction because that's exactly what its about, best reaction yet.
If you were wondering about the computer synthesized voice tracks scattered throughout the song, that is the voice of the late Stephen Hawking, sometimes referred to as the worlds smarted human, and he is also on the studio version. The irony being the title is 'Keep Talking' and he lost his ability to speak at an early age due to ALS and was only able to speak through the computer synthesized voice you are hearing here.
Great reaction This is my all time favorite from Pink Floyd. And I understand what you are both trying to say. About how their music makes you feel. I love watching him use the talk box. Its like he becomes one with the guitar
I was waiting for your reaction to the Voicebox and wondered if you ever seen or heard one before. David Gilmore is a Masterpiece watching him play live...
When you tell me how you feel about the music of Pink Floyd, I recognize myself in it every time. That's exactly what happened to me when I was young. You are doing great.🤘✌
I Love watching people discovering the Mystery and Magnificence of Pink Floyd. I grew up with Pink Floyd and have always considered them my favorite band. On top of that, David Gilmour is at the absolute Pinnacle of my list of Favorite Guitarists. He says so much through the strings of his instrument with the minimum of chords. Anyway, id love to see you react to A Great Day For Freedom. There is a version from the Pulse Concert but in my humble opinion the Best version is from the Album, David Gilmore live at Gdansk. Also Sorrow from Pulse Concert is great as well.
You made me smile mentioning PF in the same breath as Mozart & Bach. I have long said that PF is my Mozart. Just as those classical masters are studied in music schools today, I believe that PF will be studied in the same way, even a hundred years from now. They were that creative and innovative, and yes, the songs still seem fresh because the ideas they address are universal. Please do yourselves a favor and check out David Gilmour Live in Gdansk. It's a solo tour, but Rick is with him, as well as Guy Pratt, the music is roughly half PF and half solo Gilmour songs, and the band is backed by the Baltic Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, which adds another whole dimension to songs like Comfortably Numb. The very last performance of Echoes by David and Rick is part of that concert, and it is nothing short of magical. Shine On!
Makes me smile inside to hear and see your reaction to indeed the most profound and prolific band to produce music. David Gilmore is the “Master guitarist.” They have created quite a few masterpieces
I think it will be huge experience for you to discover Rush best LIVE performances because musically they are on comparable level of Pink Floyd. You will noticed that when you pay attention to fact that Rush is a band of only three musicians and each of them seems to be a unique genius of instruments they play. They give a same level of greatness as Pink Floyd but in different form. The first best of their masterpieces to discover is a piece called "La Villa Striangiato". They have also a classical music type pieces but in rock form. Definitely must to discover band.
I love watching both of you react , especially to Pink Floyd. Even when you are silent , we can see your souls searching for words to express what you feel. No other band has ever done what Pink Floyd does..... but others have tried. The Moody Blues and Tangerine Dream are 2 that come to mind. I recommend you both have a listen to The Moody Blues brilliant song titled Knights in White Satin..... never live with this group, they were not great musicians. lol I hate disco music but...... the disco version by Giorgio ( Moroder ) is a brilliant cover of a great song. Other songs by The Moody Blues of note were Go Now and Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band. Tangerine Dream I know almost nothing about..... a bit to light , hippie and arty farty for me. lol
„High hopes“ and „keep talking“ are actually „late“ Pink Floyd from the „Division Bell“ Album, influenced primarily by David Gilmore and after Roger Waters had left the band - so it‘s actually not that old (early nineties) and some might argue that it‘s actually not „real“ (old) Pink Floyd - but for me the Division Bell Songs are equally good and timeless! Allegedly Gilmore is not much of a talker and speaks through his guitar - so the song is actually autobiographical to some extent!
I mean, I'm English and you're expressing yourselves better I ever could in a second language! :D Besides, struggling to speak is the correct response to hearing Pink Floyd songs for the first time.
Hey guys! - Beautiful reaction as always, much love! ...PS - As others have said on here, you guys are going to LOVE the amazing Pulse version of "Sorrow" - I'd LOVE to see you guys react to the amazing live / Pulse version!... Also, a random (none-PF) suggestion - If you like emotional performances, you really should check out Morissette Amon - "She Used To Be Mine" - I was blown away by her performance of this track - if you read the background to the track afterwards, it will put this heart-rending performance into context...
Your ending discussion about time is the perfect segway into their song 'Time' from Dark Side of the Moon. Studio cut is probably better for the first listen so you can follow along with lyrics which will make you reach deep into your soul.
You are discovering what makes Pink Floyd so unique - they don't simply plug into their amps, they plug directly into your soul, heart, and mind. So happy you get it.
1975 I was 14 years cleaning my brothers car PINK FLOYD was playing on his stereo DARK SIDE OF THE MOON say no more Hooked 💕
One of the best songs from this show is called Sorrow, it's an absolute masterpiece. I'd like to recommend that you maybe have a little wine when you listen to it. It's a special performance, and deserves a little extra something. You only get to hear it for the first time once.
Sorrow at the Pulse Concert should not be missed.
THIS! - 100%, it's one of my favourites too - amazing version!
Sorrow always gives me the feeling of an ever increasing river of music that culminates in a beautiful raging torrent that carries you away.
Thats professor steven hawkins voice sampled at the beginning
You're welcome
✌❤🇬🇧
The “atmosphere” of this song is exceptional.
Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up.
Only Pink Floyd can make having a nervous breakdown, what this song is about, sound GREAT. Hi from Canada- peace, love and bellbottoms.
The look of confusion when the talk box comes into play is always a joy to witness!!
I was there and it was the most incredible experience to see and hear all these fantastic songs played to perfection live. At the end of this one you see David playing his guitar through a gadget to his mouth so he can manipulate the sound vocally.

Well! you two Floydians have certainly found your way home, come in, sit down and relax, I believe you will be happy here.
I like the way you said it. Pink Floyd puts the roots in you then doesn't go away.
Perhaps one of the underrated music's of all times... the ambience is majestic
You my friends, have been Floyded! I've seen them many times and Pulse had to see twice. Felt the music for days. We all came out of the concert just completely blown away! So much of Floyd's music is a deep dive on existentialism

I strongly concur 🤘🎸🤘
Oh yes!
A must
I “love” your reactions to Pink Floyd.
Great job.
These Pink Floyd reactions are wonderful. You both get it!!!! Never stop talking. Great job.
There’s pop music and then rock music and then there’s Pink Floyd all out there on there own making history ❤and so pleased you are on board
seeing how much you love floyd, i think it´s time to dive into some of their "big ones": "shine on you crazy diamond" (from studio album), "echoes" live in pompeii 1971/72, "dogs" (from studio album). and then there´s many more.
NEVERMIND THE REMARKS. IN AMERICA 🇺🇸 WE SMOKE AND LISTEN TO PINK FLOYD. NUST SAYING..😆😆😆😆!!!!!!
The tube is a talk box and takes a great musician to use one as its connected to his guitar
You Woman, it's an excellent emotional musical. I like very much when it is reacts. I it is amazing how she gets inside the guitars and songs of our Pink Floyd. Congratulations. I like you very much

I’d love to see your reaction to Shine on you Crazy Diamond! In fact, the whole Wish You Were Here Album. Thanks. It’s a pleasure to see how much you enjoy Pink Floyd.
You are very correct in your description of their music. Nothing compares to it.
Ive been listening to Floyd for nearly 50 yrs and will never stop.
Thanks, loved your reactions. Good life
seen pink once and to a certain degree they changed my life definitely music of the gods aloha
Andrei's face when the Talkbox is engaged... priceless
I've been listening to Pink Floyd for fifty years. Still to this day when I'm asked to describe Pink Floyd I cannot come up words to convey my thoughts.
Echoes live in Gdańsk please 😢😢
Another captivating performance from the 'Pulse' concert. Amazing concert. A lesser known classic is 'Pink Floyd - On The Turning Away'. BEAUTIFUL song. (there's a great LIVE version on UA-cam from 2019)
I strongly concur 🤘🎸🤘
You’re completely right !! They cracked the code…… You both just starting with the greatest band ever. I see some recommendations from this best concert ever, but I’ll think you will be blown away and find out how they cracked the code if you listen to Echoes (live from Pompei). This unique concert will show how they experiment with sound(s) 🤘🎸🤘
Absolutely agree with you. Best video of it is from the Delicate Sound of Thunder concert.
It's fun to watch you try to analyze your feelings about Floyd. Because even old listeners know how hard it is to explain the emotions that run through you. You're doing great.
Just love you guys! And Pink Floyd has always been my favorite band. I’m 63 and have been listening to them since the seventies.
I've been listening to Pink Floyd for over 30yrs and for me every time you listen to any of there songs etc for the first or 1000's time it changes your perspective on life depending how you are emotionally, mentally, physically at that time. They are a class of there own.
I literally can not wait, until you guys reach 100k+ 😊
Floyd are pioneers🙌
God knew it would take 14 billion years of His creation to produce this music, waiting throughout the long dark millenia for David, Nick, Richard and Syd to come along.
You might also wanna check out Coming Back to Life from this same concert.
P.S. It's called a talk box.
The tube in David Gilmour's mouth is from a talk box. This sends the sound from his guitar through the tube. And by altering the shape of his mouth alters the sound and puts it through the microphone rather than his amp.
One of the most underated songs. I hope it will be re discovered.
When you stop talking you are dying...
LOVE the reactions to Pink Folyd.. and love the jokes as well.. It's why I keep coming back.. Keep on Rocking.
10:09 this part is simply stunning… like a perfect language of beauty.
Mesmerising and takes you places. That’s why iv always loved their music.
the final part of this song would be like an extraterrestrial communication...it's something brilliant!
Please check out SORROW live at the PULSE CONCERT. This is another stellar live performance by Pink Floyd.
CADA VEZ QUE ESCUCHO ESTO LLORO
So many great songs from Pink Floyd. Love your reactions, super couple 🇬🇧👍❤️
You reacted to the studio version of Great Gig in the Sky. The live version features those 3 lady background singers and their vocals will melt you.
Love your reactions, you do your self an injustice. Every person views pink floyd differently
In their earlier years it was rather easy to classify their music as psychedelic rock and truth be told most of their music at that time was not my cup of tea. But gradually their style changed into the sound we all can only describe as something created in heaven (or hell) resulting in one masterful concept album after another. 80% of their songs are masterpieces, what other band can claim that
Nightwish.
the other 20% are just great pieces of work.
love your reactions we just need to keep talking pink Floyd since 1970 x
When Andre says " I have no reaction, I just want to listen to it " , he actually has the perfect reaction because that's exactly what its about, best reaction yet.
Your reaction is spot on. PF is truly unique, in all
of their work, throughout the decades.
I love this song🥰
Great reaction thanks 🎉❤🎉❤🎉
gilmour - echoes live gdansk pls pls pls:))
Thank you…
Great reaction 👍
I love Pink Floyd and I needed any of this today. Thank you!
Shine On!
You really need to do "The Great gig on the sky" but 1988 live.. With Rachel Fury on vocals
Yes, that's the best one.
@@deanadewall8400 Rachel...is the BEST ONE!
um som hipnótico e maravilhoso
Makes me smile inside to hear and see your reaction to indeed the most profound and prolific band to produce music. David Gilmore is the “Master guitarist.”
They have created quite a few masterpieces
I think it will be huge experience for you to discover Rush best LIVE performances because musically they are on comparable level of Pink Floyd. You will noticed that when you pay attention to fact that Rush is a band of only three musicians and each of them seems to be a unique genius of instruments they play. They give a same level of greatness as Pink Floyd but in different form. The first best of their masterpieces to discover is a piece called "La Villa Striangiato". They have also a classical music type pieces but in rock form. Definitely must to discover band.
Love this song and l love your reactions! You are both fantastic ❤
LOL You two are so adorable.
It’s timeless
Fast becoming my favourite reactors guys! You express yourselves very well & clearly love the music
Wasn’t this a GREAT song? 😁
For sure there’s a lot between them.
I love watching both of you react , especially to Pink Floyd.
Even when you are silent , we can see your souls searching for words to express what you feel.
No other band has ever done what Pink Floyd does..... but others have tried.
The Moody Blues and Tangerine Dream are 2 that come to mind.
I recommend you both have a listen to The Moody Blues brilliant song titled Knights in White Satin..... never live with this group, they were not great musicians. lol
I hate disco music but...... the disco version by Giorgio ( Moroder ) is a brilliant cover of a great song.
Other songs by The Moody Blues of note were Go Now and Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band.
Tangerine Dream I know almost nothing about..... a bit to light , hippie and arty farty for me. lol
Waiting for you two wearing Pink Floyd T shirts.......
YES! THEY CRACKED THE CODE!
My favourite use of the TalkBox. I prefer this to Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton or definitely to Richie Sambora. Its just so damned expressive. Beautiful.
Love you to👍👍
I mean, I'm English and you're expressing yourselves better I ever could in a second language! :D
Besides, struggling to speak is the correct response to hearing Pink Floyd songs for the first time.
Look up "Remember that night ", "Fat Old Sun" Gilmour kills a telecaster at the end!
Pink Floyd is Medicine.
Your ending discussion about time is the perfect segway into their song 'Time' from Dark Side of the Moon. Studio cut is probably better for the first listen so you can follow along with lyrics which will make you reach deep into your soul.
