And let's say he starts believing in Quran/Bible after they ask him to believe, the books contradict against other faiths, polytheism etc. What will he do then? Whom will he believe? He has to believe whoever gives evidence. And none of them have succeeded in giving the proper evidence.
Hey Vimoh, been watching your videos lately. Wanted to ask this geniune doubt. Is evidence for atheism equally poor? Can mere absence of evidence for theism count as evidence for atheism? If there's a claim that "A" exists, and there's no evidence to back it, does that logically mean that A does not exist or is it speculative as our only evidence for the claim of non-existent of A would be the absence of evidence for existence of A. So can absence of evidence count as counter-evidence? Or the very best we can be is agnostic from a very rational perspective? Cause, when I apply this example in a real life scenario, lets say if my friend makes a claim about the existence of some "25 feet tall man with 6 legs" and the evidence he backs it up with is that he has seen the man or experienced him. I feel pretty easy rejecting this claim thinking it's pure bullshit! But when I think deep enough, my only evidence for rejecting this claim was the non-display of any extraordinary evidence by my friend of his extraordinary claim. So what's the better way forward in being a conclusive atheist vs an agnostic in terms of philosophical rationality? Would love to hear your thoughts (i repeat this is a very genuine doubt)
If there is a claim that A exists but no evidence to support that claim, then there is no reason to believe it. That's all. I don't claim there is no god or gods. I simply say I don't have any reason to believe that there is a god or gods. That is why I'm an atheist.
@@vimoh Okay I feel like I finally understood! if there's a claim A with no evidence to back it so there's no reason to believe it. And at the same it will be illogical to disbelieve that claim as there will be no evidence for falsification of a claim that is not even proved yet in the first place, and thus we will only be speculating and hence I have no reason of disbelieving as well. So claiming that there are no Gods/Goddesses and claiming that there are Gods/Goddesses both are pretty similar. Am I getting it correctly?
