      @@jagdishswaroop you know what that means? Even if god does not exist in reality, even if we cant produce 1 credible evidence for legitimacy of idea of god and vedas, we should just believe it. But we wont stand if a logically driven atheist questions our legitimacy. You say god is extraordinary so extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs. So why such a great god of yours did not leave 1 proof? Forget your god, why didnt any of the 4600 religions in the world give proof. Its because religion is faith and faith is personal thinking and personal thinking has no basis in reality. I can think personally that there is a unicorn in my room which only i see and people will call me idiot but a lakh people do so and it becomes faith and love of god.

    • @spiritofsoul2956
      @spiritofsoul2956 Рік тому +12

      @@tyrionlannister6847 blind belief is actually pretty nice and helpful BUT only when done on a personal level. I don't know why religious people try to turn logical, there's no rationality or logic in God.
      I am a theist, I love God, I pray to God, I believe there's one source that is the ultimate, I believe there's one source that is the cause of all things. And I feel wonderful believing all this as if I know it.
      The problem starts when theists want to act all logical and claim that this is true for all the people, and they KNOW it for all, but no it's not, it's only true for me. Not everyone.
      And the other part of the problem starts when atheists start telling people, why are you in ignorance (if people can understand this maturely, this is the major reason why theists want to act all logical because they don't want to be called ignorant). Here's my viewpoint on it, because ignorance has always empowered human beings since time immemorial. And this metaphysical ignorance can prove to me very beneficial (I don't know about others) So I prefer to call it "not the knowledge of God" because I don't really have it but the "Ignorance of reality" is what I call God and is what I feel is blissful.

    Hey Vimoh, been watching your videos lately. Wanted to ask this geniune doubt. Is evidence for atheism equally poor? Can mere absence of evidence for theism count as evidence for atheism? If there's a claim that "A" exists, and there's no evidence to back it, does that logically mean that A does not exist or is it speculative as our only evidence for the claim of non-existent of A would be the absence of evidence for existence of A. So can absence of evidence count as counter-evidence? Or the very best we can be is agnostic from a very rational perspective?
    Cause, when I apply this example in a real life scenario, lets say if my friend makes a claim about the existence of some "25 feet tall man with 6 legs" and the evidence he backs it up with is that he has seen the man or experienced him. I feel pretty easy rejecting this claim thinking it's pure bullshit! But when I think deep enough, my only evidence for rejecting this claim was the non-display of any extraordinary evidence by my friend of his extraordinary claim. So what's the better way forward in being a conclusive atheist vs an agnostic in terms of philosophical rationality? Would love to hear your thoughts (i repeat this is a very genuine doubt)

    • @vimoh
      @vimoh  Рік тому +37

      If there is a claim that A exists but no evidence to support that claim, then there is no reason to believe it. That's all. I don't claim there is no god or gods. I simply say I don't have any reason to believe that there is a god or gods. That is why I'm an atheist.

    • @marburymadison3407
      @marburymadison3407 Рік тому +14

      @@vimoh Okay I feel like I finally understood! if there's a claim A with no evidence to back it so there's no reason to believe it. And at the same it will be illogical to disbelieve that claim as there will be no evidence for falsification of a claim that is not even proved yet in the first place, and thus we will only be speculating and hence I have no reason of disbelieving as well. So claiming that there are no Gods/Goddesses and claiming that there are Gods/Goddesses both are pretty similar. Am I getting it correctly?

      @Veekay_stpauli Рік тому +7

      @@marburymadison3407 Can't agree with your last statement.
      The point of Atheism is that there was no need to claim there is a God in the first place. If I Believe that there is tea pot revolving between Mars and Jupiter, and you say that is absurd, these 2 stands are not equal. You are forced to not believe the tea pot hypothesis cause I put it forward. Atheists are forced to say we have no reason to believe in God, cause theists put forward the hypothesis to believe in it.

    • @marburymadison3407
      @marburymadison3407 Рік тому +11

      @@Veekay_stpauli Agreed that it is obviously always a put forward hypothesis that is rejected. But then, I have no evidence to falsify your claim except the absence of your own evidence to prove your belief that tea pots revolve around Mars and Jupiter.
      Edit: Also clarifications on my last statement in case, the wording might lead to some misunderstanding: Not believing in God's or Goddesses and believing in God's or Goddesses will be the same thing as in terms of one is accepting the existence of God and the other one is denying the existence of God. Not having a reason to believe seems perfectly fine to me!

And i always have a fear in my mind that what if i am doing something wrong in not believing the concept of god and what if i will fear the consequences later. Concepts like karma and all always give me lot of confusion..Please make a separate video on the concept of karma and please make a separate video on astrology too

      The sikh, hindu, sufi and orthodox christianity have a common thing in them. Till an extent they propose existence is God.
      By this I mean, for God to create existence, he must first existence. Hence before any hypothetical mechanism of creating more, concept of existence must be first seen. Humans giving attributes to God comes out of love for our own existence. Existence is God and through engaging in faith as per religion, we can simply be joyous existing.. That is what the level spiritual Gurus and other leaders were on in a sense. Though the other systems of karma and hell/heaven change by faith. Its up to critical analysis to find which one is the best.

    • @GaganSingh-nx2yv
      @GaganSingh-nx2yv Рік тому

      It's not like these great personalities ever provided a good rationale to believe in God. So it's hard to say. Guru Nanak stayed under water for three days, jesus was resuscitated, Mohammed split the moon. These are the kinds of justifications we are offered. Unlike philosophers who tries to justify their beliefs and we can look at their argument and analyse them. We can't do the same for prophets and gurus.

    Belief in a father or great-grandfather and belief in God - aren't really comparable. The existence of a father or great-grandfather is a normal part of human biology and history, something we as a society have a general understanding of and abundant evidence to support, even if we lack specific evidence about our individual lineage. On the other hand, belief in God represents an extraordinary claim that extends beyond the natural world as we collectively comprehend it. If belief in God did not require unique evidence, we would all presumably believe in the same God. Yet, the reality shows a plethora of religions, each with its own unique set of beliefs. This points to the fact that there isn't one universally "right" way to believe in God and underlines the idea that faith is often based on personal experience and intuition. Consequently, extraordinary claims like the existence of a divine being require extraordinary evidence, surpassing anecdotal or intuitive references.

    Also, the Rishi's didn't "write the vedas" since the Vedas as Shrutis aka unwritten scriptures supposedly passed down thrown oral transmission. The man debating for the truth of the Vedas doesn't even have the basics of the Vedas correct and this way of transmitting scripture is even worse than writing it down.

    We can't tell the taste of tea or a sweet. You have to taste your self. Once you self realise,no need for you to tell about who is God? who wrote, how Vedas came etc, you know your Father, or up to four or five gerations. But definitely you will not know how your great,great great grandfather came on this earth. So is the vedas. Vedas are whispered by God (akashvani)when rishis performing penance. ...sage vedavyasa interpreted and divided into four Vedas as per requirement. Since Vedas not understood by common man, Upanishad came, then also not understood so puranas came in the form of Stories for common man to understand. Hope you understand. ? 😊

    I am a believer. But i respect atheism because without strong rational backing, things would become blind pursuit.
    The argument made about parenthood being taken on belief is valid in my opinion. I think that it is a fallacy of authority to say that one can verify parenthood and actually not carrying out the verification. And I had read about an instance where the DNA tests came out falsely positive because in rare circumstances, it can match the wrong person because they indeed would have the same DNA. Oops!
    Also, verifying from other sources are also flawed because the ultimate test itself can come out wrong. So any other opinions would be on taken on the fallacy of authority as well. Right?
    In another clip, a similar point was made on verifying the reality of perception. Just because other people can perceive the same thing, it is not conclusive evidence is the perception being real. It is like pausing an animation into n number off computers and if they can detect the animation, then concluding that it is the reality and the more computers verify, the more reasonable to think that the animation is reality. Thinking deeply would show that another entity other than a computer will differ.
    But this doors not conclude but take the quest only deeper.
    And regarding multi religions and their differences, I see them all as pointing to the same God. The so called Abrahamic religions, 3 of major ones, all talk about a deluge which Noah survives and the Hindus too do have the same incident which is the instance of the Matsya Avatar where King Satyavrata was approached by God to tell him the same thing, to build a huge ship and survive a massive deluge, in exactly the same fashion. But this would then only lead to the idea that, then probably all those religions originated from Hinduism. I hope these would be interesting ideas to know.

    But according to Hindus, even athiests can achieve moksha, then why does this hindu having problem when you don't want to believe in God then??? 😂😂😂

    In my opinion, this is not the best argument to make, because you implicitly concede that the belief is valid if the believer is open to other beliefs, which isn't the case. I would have made the point that blind belief requires the suspension of all logic and reason, the pillars upon which humanity has progressed so rapidly. Thus it's nonsensical to first believe and work backwards towards the "evidence"

      It was not an argument. It was a question about whether the standards being presented by the caller were universal.
