I share the same theory, that's why I bought a F87 M2. It's such a great package. The new M2 will probably be too tempting. If the M240i can gain over 30hp on a model change, the M2 is going to be something special!
Am I right in thinking you go from the M240i to the M2 Competition? Once it comes out. So if you want an all wheel drive auto, the M240i is the one to get?
Hi Liam, BMW UK Press haven't really talked about the upcoming M2 yet but if it follows the same pattern as the F87, they will launch a non Competition first which would likely be a RWD. I guess with the fact they are offering xDrive in other M Cars now they may offer it on a version of M2 but at the moment I would imagine they will stick to offering xDrive on the M240i. The selling point of the 2 Series and particularly the M versions has always been about keeping them more traditional, which results in less complicated tech, retaining driving purity but now I've said that, next week BMW will launch a 4WD Mild Hybrid M2 🤣. It's always challenging depending on the country the car is launched to, as it will differ. There are whispers that Europe will get the option of a G42 M240i with Rear Drive but for now the UK will need to make do with xDrive. Thanks for checking out the video. Be sure to subscribe to see future updates 👍🏻
@@CARfariPark thanks for the reply. I was just trying to make sense of it because I'm not a typical BMW guy but I've always liked the smaller higher powered model like the first 1er coupe and the current 2er. I had a look on the website and the 3 and 4 series go from the M-40i to M- competition only. Unless I'm doing it wrong 🤷♂️. I'm a Brit living in Portugal and I noticed there's about 9 different interior trims in Portugal to the 2 in the UK, same story with wheels. Although the price for the M240i here is €75k so I don't think the added choice warrants the £15k difference, but cars are stupidity expensive here.
Good Job Fari!!
good thing about a car is, even if you make a mistake, you can quickly correct it by
buying a new one!
Very, very true and in my car history I've bought and sold A LOT of cars.
Thanks for checking out the vid 👍🏻
Really loving the new 2 series. M2 is gonna be epic. Maybe the one to have as the m3/m4 keep getting bigger ?

@@siviter if you are looking for something good value and with plenty of tuning scope, then a few year old 140i or F22 240i could be a good choice.
