I believe whenever you see the PSI increase, yet the GPM remains the same usually means they changed the diameter of the add-on nozzles. The GPM is what mostly effects foam cannons. I use hot water and that does make a difference. If you have really hard water, it will kill foam and be hard to get shaving cream type.
2.0 GPM and higher with a 1.2mm orifice will give you that thick shaving cream foam you're looking for. Both of your pressure washers are 1.2 GPM which will require a 1.1mm orifice to get that shaving cream foam you're looking for.
