I love that your channel has become a pseudo Carhartt Historian channel. I’ve been wearing Carhartt for most of my life and will continue to for years to come!
That’s true! Sometimes i rather go out in my carhartt gear to the woods than in my expensive the north face jacket. Just because i know nothing it’s going to rip the carhartt duck.
Not to change the subject but Carl I got a thank you! My Jim Green Razorbacks came from Amazon today and oh my God! Unbelievable. Best value on the planet. Starting to get pissed off realizing how much I’m getting ripped off by every other company on a common basis because these boots are absolutely worth 2 1/2 to 3 times the price and I thank you sir for the heads up and I say that because I have come to learn that if it’s being mentioned by you it’s something I need to at least look at. Well I am looking at them on my feet with a gigantic smile on my face that starting to hurt because I can’t stop smiling!
That super dux active hooded jacket sherpa lined is awesome!! The outter shell material is rubbery and flexible, lightweight but yet durable. A layering style jacket but also standalone needing only a long sleeve underneath. Sleeve length on the medium was a bit too long for me. Only turn off to that jacket. Price was $159 retail but on sale for $129. Recently i purchased Carhartt's new Montana hooded puffy coat. $149 retail. Level 4 warmth and carhartts awesome light coyote brown color. Liked the looks right away and it has their rain defender. Shell is durable, lightweight. Up to date puffy coat design. Love the sherpa lined shoulder interior cause it holds in the warmth really well. The lower interior, including the arms is that nice slippery quilted material for easy on and off. Nice feature on any coat! Large fleece lined pockets are great! Thought i was really gonna love this coat and i wanted to but.... My two big complaints about it are their overall sizing and the thick "sherpa" lined hood. I'm 5'8 and 160lbs. I bought the size small (at first) and the body of the coat overall fit well including the arm length. But the hood is BAM right there banging into the back of your head when its not in use. My other gripe is the hood interior is sherpa lined. Bad idea for a hood imo especially a hood of that design. Makes it very hard to wear cause it catches your hair or your winter hat you have on when in use. Theirs just not enough room either too small. Strange design flaw i think. Draw strings in the hood aren't that user friendly either, i have seen better. So brought the small back and tried the medium but its too big and the arms are too long!! Ughhh.... Body is just too big allowing cold air to get up underneath the jacket even when using the draw cords. Please fix the hood design on this montana coat!! So its not banging into your head and make the hood interior the slippery quilt lined. Please! But keep the sherpa lined body interior (not in sleeves though). They should also offer other sizes like medium short and large long, etc... Not just standard sizes. If they did these few things it would be my favorite cold weather coat. Still love Carhartt though!!
This line of garments look nice the only beef I would have is the Velcro pocket closures. I prefer snaps Velcro seems cheap. A nice quality snap is more appealing to me. Just my opinion. Great review Carl.
Great video, pal. I didn’t know about this line whatsoever. In fact, I got an email about it this morning from Carhartt and then I thought “Ah, Carl… he knew!”
After lots of reasech and thought i just ordered a set of superdux bibs, my father gave me his old insulated bibs and theyre just so bulky and stiff. Thinking these new bibs will be the cat pajamas
Update my bibs arrived yesterday I love them so much never know Carhartt can be this comfortable. The build quality is actually nuts compared to my older washed duck ones. Everyone is asking me "what are those"
This is great! Can you do a review for the women’s line, especially the fit? It’s very hard to buy a carharrt women’s jacket online due to the fact that each line fits different, so, a large in one line feels like a medium in another.
Another terrific Carhartt product review! I just started looking for winter jackets and came across a Carhartt Yukon Extremes Insulated Active Jacket on the web. Are you familiar with this jacket? Like is it warm in 5 degrees and can you layer under it?
Carl could you talk about why Carhartt quit making the original fit K87. It's now relaxed or loose fit. And neither fit the same as the original, at least to me.
How do you feel the SuperDux will stand up for wear? IF I decide I have to cut some firewood and have to haul it, will the Super Dux snap, rip or tear in your opinion?
And if you have the time or interest in another denim video, I suggest you go for The Unbranded Brand. They seem to be a good value, but I don't know for sure.
I just bought super dux bibs and a jacket. I wanted to get my company logo put on them. Can the company company im going to do a vinyl transfer onto this material. Its put on at about 350 degrees
So here's a question nobody has been able to answer. The super dux is nylon shell just like the Yukon extremes, the website details are virtually identical. Sure the Yukon is a tad warmer, but it seems both shells offer the same wind and water resistance, similar weights etc. So what exactly are the differences, uses etc? Which one would make a better outside winter work jacket?
They’re much different in real life. The Yukon is 500 Denier nylon duck, which is actually down from the 1000 denier they used in the previous Yukon series. It’s pretty darn stiff, and feels like nylon. The Super Dux material feels like a sweatshirt on steroids. You COULD work in it, but it’s not nearly as tough as the Yukon stuff.
I'm so torn. I really like these superdux bibs but I don't know if I should buy them. They seem a lot less robust that the duck material and as an electrician I'm afraid I'll rip or snag them. Any thoughts?
@@CarlMurawski I just bought a pair, I'll let you know how it goes! Worst comes to worst I end up using them snowboarding and buy a pair of insulated duck bibs for work😁
I thought Carhartt was all still union made in the USA. Shame they offshored so much of their production. I've always been a big fan of their work wear- so I'm sympathetic to the tone of this video- but when you started reading the quote on the patch, it really cemented this video as an advertisement rather than an objective review.
Maybe someone already mentioned it and by now you know. There is a Detroit jacket in this lineup. I tried on the active jacket in the store and the biggest disappointment for me is the collar does not lay flat! It looks tacky with the hood and it’s very uncomfortable. I couldn’t buy the jacket because of that. I read online reviews stating the Detroit version does the same thing. Terrible missed opportunity to hit a home run with this lineup. On top of that it really should be made in USA. Otherwise the material kicks ass and would be a solid choice.
To anyone who has the super dumb detroit jacket or the blanket lined one, are they warm enough to wear layered over a hoodie in down to -10°C? I'm a Canadian who's looking for a new winter jacket, and I've settled on the Detroit jacket but I'm not sure which one to get. Would the blanket lined jacket be warm enough?
I really wish they still had camo! I need some new hunting bibs.... so I had to go with a different company an im not impressed at all .. come on carhartt! Get some real camo back!
"They found that many people were already using mainline Carhartt gear for outdoor activities." Yeah, before like 2016 that's the only thing Carhartt was used for, actually.

I saw the Super Dux level 4 jacket at CAL Ranch today. It looks nice. I'd like to see a comparison with Dri Duck, Truewerk and the Super Dux

Hahahaha guilty as charged!
Made in Vietnam
Would it be possible for you to put together a list of your favorite items made in the U.S.? I'm trying to buy more American made clothing lately.
Most definitely! Great idea
Second that!
I've worn almost all American outfits before but for some reason quality underwear does not get made in the U.S. honestly it's strange.
Why?
@@Ives1776 screw america, I can't find ANY decent God damn underwear.

Would love to see an in depth review of the bibs

I would like to see an affordable hunting line with classic style. Stuff for bird hunting and deer hunting would be really awesome
I've been reviewing jackets for days now and that Super Dux might just be the winner.

Another terrific Carhartt product review! I just started looking for winter jackets and came across a Carhartt Yukon Extremes Insulated Active Jacket on the web. Are you familiar with this jacket? Like is it warm in 5 degrees and can you layer under it?
Oh yes, I think I covered it a few months back. Its nylon rather than canvas, and really warm. HUGE improvement over the old Yukon Extremes version.
I wonder how warm it is?
I dig the jacket, I'd like a slimmer pair of bibs.
Carl could you talk about why Carhartt quit making the original fit K87. It's now relaxed or loose fit. And neither fit the same as the original, at least to me.
Awesome video man. May I ask what size you are wearing on the coat at 2:04?
Heyy, did you somehow manage to find out? Or if you bought it, how it fits? Thanks!
Man i really would like some heritage hunting gear , that a red and brown hunting cap is 🔥
Do carhartt do a waterproof line. And is it any good 🤔
They make a Super Dux Detroit jacket now. 👍
Is the outer lining fairly quiet when rubbed together?
So is this like soft shell , like the tatical jackets? Just thicker ?
i know this video is old. looking at rough cut, full swing, and super dux. cant find a video should all 3
Do you like or own any of the old GAP jackets
How do you feel the SuperDux will stand up for wear? IF I decide I have to cut some firewood and have to haul it, will the Super Dux snap, rip or tear in your opinion?
Is the material noisy? I’m interested in using them for hunting
Carhartt should bring back some of those 1930 items they made back then..the Michigan Cruiser would be great to see again...
And if you have the time or interest in another denim video, I suggest you go for The Unbranded Brand. They seem to be a good value, but I don't know for sure.
How do the bibs fit? I wear a 2X in most everything, but the measurements on the website suggest I'd go with XL.
Compared to Carhartt J130, is it warmer?
They actually have a super dux Detroit jacket available on their website looks promising
Do they? Oh man, I didnt see that!
You've been on a Carhartt binge recently haha!
They don’t call me Carhartt Carl for nothing!
Very informative! Carl
I’ll be ordering mine in a minute. Sure can’t wait to use it for work and going out jeeping.
I wish Carhartt made more camouflage stuff seems like its all super rare an old
If you have a relationship with Carhartt in any way can you tell them to bring back the R08 and Double Barrel Bib overalls?
I just bought super dux bibs and a jacket. I wanted to get my company logo put on them. Can the company company im going to do a vinyl transfer onto this material. Its put on at about 350 degrees
Still just trying to find a standard detroit jacket from last year, personally I don't care for the longer fit, but thats just me
Hi Carl, does the super dux active jac breathable as good as the j130 ? Thanks!
Is this super dux waterproof or water resistant? If compared to a shoreline jacket for example?
Great on my bike.

The problem with DWR is that it wears off quick. If you want waterproof go for gore-tex, if you just want water resistance dwr is fine.
True story. Goretex is an incredible material.
