    I bought one of these trucks here in Canada. The base MSRP from 2022-2024 has gone up $14,000 in 2 years. A work truck here in Canada will set you back $75,000. What insane point we are at.

The low end torque of the 3.5 brings a smile to my face every day. There has to be good reason the 3.5 goes into the Raptor and all of the Police Interceptor F150's... My 2016 5L was a wind up toy with the 6 speed. It was gutless under 4k rpm which was underwhelming...

    I understand the target market for the XL and STX - although primarily a fleet vehicle and truck for a general labor crew, for 50k it could have power seats as an option. I really like my 2021 STX - the grill on the 2024 looks cheap.

      I just bought a ‘24 stx as a daily and I love the lack of power seats. The only time I need power seats is after my wife drives it, which is effectively never, and when I get it back from the dealer after an oil change. No other time.

    • @johngarner9929
      @johngarner9929 5 місяців тому

      @@actontreadway1168 For the price of what Ford sells the truck for and markets it a one trim level above the base model - power seats could be an option. Essentially, the STX is still the base model with a few bells and whistles that do make it worth the price. Every other truck manufacturer offers a power seat option for their models one step above the base model. I purchased a 2021 STX 4x4 brand new several years ago - love the way the truck handles, tows and sips gasoline until the 5.0 gets woken up. Glad you like your truck - I hope it gives you great service.

    Traditionally, Ford usually offers the best rebates and low interest financing out there. On my Ford, I was offered $3,000 rebate OR 0% financing for 72 months. On higher trim 2023 F150s, rebates are as high as $11,000. Ford does understand its legacy of over 120 years. Ford often overproduced and then offers rebates to move metal off of dealer lots.

      A combination of lingering effects of cover 19 on supply chains, the UAW strike, pricing and a shift away (for some who don't need full size) from large pickups to mid size and smaller. Add on top of that an apparent need to slow down the delivery of '24 models...... perhaps to allow sales of '23 models with good incentives or as some have reported, to allow for added quality inspections. For a business as large as all auto manufacturers have become, it's nothing short of a miracle that things run as smooth as they do already. Everything will get smoothed out eventually during this shift in the marketplace.

We have replaced engines, transmission, turbos, electronic issues... The worst is the Ram Promaster. 2015 with 190k miles. It is on its second or third transmission, whose counting. We just sold it for $5k because it needs another one. Also, it has had more issues than any of our other vehicles not counting the transmission.

    52k for a base model work truck..... It amazes me how brainwashed people are that 52k is ok for a base work truck. Ludacris!! That's a 35K truck max. It's idiotic that people are paying these prices. Simply stop. When the lots are full of unsold trucks the prices will go back down. All truck prices should go back down to pre pandemic prices which were 15k less at least.

    So what does Ford do to change their industry leading safety recall stats 4 years in a row? Change the logo and add an American flag imprint on the side of the dash. Yeah - let me know how that works out for you. I have owned every domestic vehicle brand (as well as several foreign brands) over the last 50+ years and have generally been satisified with most of them. That said, I would be hard pressed to purchase a Ford with their recent track record.

    Ecoboost is only more economical on paper. In real world use the 5.0 is matching or so close that it doesn't matter. It's a shame all the EPA testing and California CARB crap only cares about the lab/on paper part. That's why we have EGRs, corn in our gas, and DEF. None of those help emissions once all factors are accounted for over the life of a vehicle.
